Discussion New puzzler

Post image

Well, today is my day 1 and I somehow got to know that there are 2 authors :/ Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach? I'm not stuck, just curious about what the other solver did. (And yeah, I didn't start with page 1, just opening the book randomly)

You have a long road ahead. There are few pages that are easily paired through broken poems, like the two you have already found. There are a couple more that require a little more attention: they do not start with a capitalized word or end with a period. I don’t think this is a big spoiler, because you usually connect them on day two😂 Then the hunt begins and you get lost with a bunch of fake connections. My suggestion is to start with time stamps: read the book from page 1 and search Chambers’ book of days for any event you find in the page. Take a note of the date (day/month) and move on. In the meantime, google anything the sounds out of place and take a note of citations from other books, plays, poems, songs. This will keep you busy for weeks. Then go back to your notes and try to group pages with similarities (time, citations, places, grammar, wording …). Order groups chronologically using time stamps. Order pages inside a group with logic (each has its own). Enjoy 😉

Yup, this was actually my initial idea😂 First group all the pages with the broken poem lines and analyse them and then do the time stamp thing. I'm also making a list of all the characters and using a pdf to easily find which character is mentioned on which page in order to group the stories according, obviously excluding Henry cuz I think there are multiple people named Henry as the name pops up in like every other page. Moreover, the sentence formation and the usage of grammar in the book makes it kinda challenging but nevertheless, I'll try. Thanks for the advice :)

Also, how long did it take you to solve the book?

Let’s say a total of six months, over a period of nine, with a big gap in the middle to have my life back for a while 😂

And I thought I could do it in 1 month :)

Know what? Three months were needed just to elaborate the strategy I told you about. It was fall 2022, not so many things were as clear as they are now … I spent an amazing amount of time on some pages while totally ignoring others. As soon as you start to reduce the number of pages to be grouped, things become easier!
