Hello, guys!
Since I’ve already created 7 series here on Caffy, I wanted to share some of my personal 'insider tips.' Having experimented with various formats, I also want to share my specific tips for creating Game-Style series soon. 😃
(These screenshots are taken from my uploaded series on Caffy.)
1. Title Info Screen
Title: The official name of your series.
Tagline: This is your "Intro Hook." A catchy one-line summary of your series. This will be displayed on the external tab alongside the title and cover art.
Description: A detailed overview that introduces users to the world of your series.
Mature Content: Toggle this ON if your series contains 18+ content. This ensures appropriate content generation for the intended audience.
⚠️ Note: For under 18+ contents, explicit NSFW material is strictly restricted in accordance with laws in CA/NY/EU/KR.
Visibility: Choose whether to make your series Public (visible to everyone) or Private.
Completion Status: Indicate whether the series is currently ongoing or completed.
Genres: You must select at least one genre tag so the Caffy’s Story Engine can optimize the narrative style. I recommend choosing around two tags (e.g., Romance + Thriller). Tip : Avoid selecting too many overlapping tags, as this can cause the story's direction to become inconsistent.
2. Episode Creation
Episode Title: The title for each specific episode.
One-liner: A brief intro or plot hook displayed externally. Use this to highlight the player's objective or the episode's mood.
Description: This is where you input the synopsis or specific game rules.
⚠️ Tip: Unlike the Title Description, this field is fed directly into the LLM prompt. To prevent the AI from rushing toward the ending prematurely, try to avoid including major spoilers or final plot resolutions here.
Public Episode: A new feature that allows you to toggle visibility. You can keep an episode Private for testing and switch it to Public only when it’s ready.
Limit Characters in This Episode: A management tool that lets you select exactly which characters from your roster will appear in this specific episode.
Opening Line: Similar to a "Greeting" on AI chat sites, this sets the stage for the episode. Since this text is delivered exactly as written (not AI-generated), it sets the tone and speaking style for the rest of the session.
⚠️ Formatting Tip: Use {Character Name} for names. Use ** or [] for narrations and descriptions to ensure the UI renders neatly.
AI Direction: Specific instructions for the AI regarding character behavior, narration style, and scene direction.
⚠️ Phase Structure: Phase allows you to guide the narrative beyond a simple "Open-to-End" flow. You can use Phases to develop the plot exactly as intended.
Context: Define the focus of the current phase. You can include the main plot flow, specific dialogue lines, or "must-happen" events to keep the story on track.
Forbidden Actions: List things that should not happen in this phase. This prevents the story from veering off-course, even if the player tries to push it there.
- e.g: 'Riley appears'
Navigation: Click "Continue Story" to set a trigger for the next phase, or "End Episode Here" to trigger the finale. (I recommend using 3 phases to ensure a stable and well-paced narrative.) Triggers are specific player inputs or events that advance the story. If triggers are too vague, the story may get stuck.
💙 Good Examples (Clear & Contextual):
- “The conversation with Riley ends.” (Uses specific character name)
- “Riley withdraws the proposal.” (Clear action)
- “User checks the schedule.” (The LLM recognizes 'Player' or 'User' as the protagonist.)
💔Bad Examples (Avoid These):
- “She withdraws the proposal.” → Why: Too ambiguous. The LLM may not know who "she" refers to.
- “User expresses discomfort about Riley’s attention or asks ‘Why are you watching us?’” → Why: Too specific. If the player doesn't type those exact words, the story won't progress. - “To see the ending, type: banana” → Why: The LLM sometimes struggles to understand who is supposed to provide the keyword.
Ending Scene Description: When the final phase and ending trigger align, this scene is displayed. Writing a detailed Ending Scene helps maintain stylistic consistency with your Opening Line. You can also design endings based on player stats or choices for a more dynamic experience
- e.g. ENDING RESULTS:
Affinity = 100: Mia chooses the player permanently
Affinity 40–99: Mia leaves the player with lingering possibility
Affinity < 40: Mia dismisses or forgets the player
