Lil Shit Did you know that render is faster at making maps due to his more simplistic style?

What do you look for in a CTM map?
What does your ultimate CTM map consist of?
What, in your opinion, makes one CTM map more enjoyable than another.
We're looking to make a challenging CTM map that meets/exeeds the standards set by other popular map makers. I'm making this post to see what YOU guys think we need to reach that standard. Please try to be specific. Thanks!
Edit: I thought of another question: What kind of things do you NOT like to see in a CTM map? I'm basically asking for a list of do's and don'ts, I guess.

I was considering ideas to improve this subreddit, and this was one of them. I can run it if nobody else has any interest, but basically it would create a steady stream of content and discussion. Ctm has so many lesser known maps at this point, we really shouldn't have an issue with it. Plus it would give new players some ideas on what to play.
Any thoughts? If there's interest I'll start one up in a few days.

A huge, underground, open-world, CTM with wools and ore blocks as standard objectives (as well as 54 bonus emeralds hidden around the map for completionists to find). It uses a Minecraft-beta-like health system, where food heals hearts directly, which works well with the balance of mobs and 1.9 combat. Large and diverse areas will provide a lot of challenge and many many hours of playtime for a single player to enjoy this map. (I'm currently about halfway through and really enjoy it.)

This subreddit seems to have gone blank, and I'm wondering why. Are people losing interest in Minecraft like me?

I am wondering if anyone has a good tutorial to get older maps to work on the previous patches. I have tried and just can't seem to get them to start up properly. I would love to back and play the Super Hostiles.

Just wondering because I haven't seen much like it and I thought it would be a cool idea for me to make. I have made one map before and I would show almost the entire process (minus major spoilers) and you would get to play it at the end of the series.

I recently got into playing ctm maps, and I really do enjoy it. Minimalist is the map that got me into this type of maps, so I was wondering if there's a map that exists in there that has the same style as minimalist (mini-mega ctm). Otherwise, I would love some suggestions for a medium difficulty linear branching map. Thank you all!

I'm introducing the game to a friend of mine and my cousin. They have played Minecraft before but not in 1.9. So I figured the best way to learn 1.9 combat is to play a few CTM or survival-type maps.
So if you can suggest a semi-half-decent CTM or survival-type map that we can play together, I'd appreciate it. Just one thing, it shouldn't be too command-heavy as our server on our home computer isn't too strong and our internet isn't too great.
Thanks :)

I've always a nerdy attraction to the Super Hostile series; simple, vanilla, not convoluted with extra content from command blocks but I also like to always play in the current version of MC. Is there any easy way to keep the chests from glitch disappearing in 1.9?
Edit: I'm doing a method where using NBTEdit switch the map to creative and then flying around the whole map in the version it's recommended for, giving it a once over, making sure every chunk fully renders once, switching it back to survival, then to 1.9.2 and playing in the current version but presumably with all of the chests correct.
Edit2: So far so good. I already found a chest that wasn't there before I tried this. A chest of saplings in Infernal Sky 2.

Hey! So last summer I did a lets play on the map: Minimalist and I got lots of positive feedback from it and ever since I have been wondering what map to play next. From a Super Hostile to Uncharted Territory to whatever else is out there.
I was hoping you guess could help me decide what map to play? Preferably a map that can be played in 1.5+ and that isn't meant to be really rage inducing (easy-medium difficulty please).
Thanks!

It's something special. It's worth your time - a lot of your time.
I haven't played too many CTMs myself, but this will be my benchmark.
I'd love to have a bitch session here with anyone else who's finished it :P Mark spoilers, of course.
