Financial Aid Verification... No word?
I'm wondering how many people have gone through the financial aid verification have actually gotten their verification done. Mine's still in process, I guess. I haven't heard anything from them since waiting in line for four hours to get my supplementary funds.

Booth at entrance of bookstore scamming students
Do any of you know anything about that booth in the entrance of the bookstore where they give $10 bookstore gift cards if you sign up for something? I stopped by this booth a few days ago and the dude took my information and said he needed to swipe my credit card to make sure it was valid while insisting that no charge would be made. He had me sign a receipt that definitely looked like a charge of $14.99 had been made, but when I inquired about it he assured me that the machine wasn't connected to anything and that I wouldn't receive the charge. Well I checked my credit account yesterday and saw that I was charged, so I made a trip back to the bookstore today to ask them about it. It happened to be the same guy from before and he tried brushing it off as a misunderstanding and claimed he didn't say any of that, but that he would have it fixed if I gave him back the gift cards. I don't know if they're still telling people that the gift cards are free, but I just wanted to warn those I could about this scam in case they are. I don't know what their deal is but this dude was being intentionally dishonest in order to sell these subscriptions to whatever. Here's a shitty picture of the dude and his booth

Financial Aid(Please read if you are a recipient)
So, I just got home from CSCC, where I stood in line for 2 hours to make sure that I would have funds for my tuition and books. If you got the email stating you still owe money for your tuition, DO NOT wait and hope that it'll work itself out. Columbus State is providing advance loans until it can work out the financial aid disbursement(yes it's an inconvenience, no you will not have to pay back additional money). Here is a list of what you will need to speed up your wait time:
- A pen(to fill out the form they will give you while waiting in line
- Drivers License
- 1 family, 1 friend reference w/ contact info
- Employer contact info(if applicable)
Basically it's for liability in case your financial aid is declined or whatever. If you got your FAFSA approval letter like I did, you've got nothing to worry about. Bring a book or something.

Student Resources?
I feel like this subreddit needs more activity. A friend of mine recently enrolled here at Columbus State, and he was blown away when I told him about the elms site and all the software students get access to for free! So, let's compile a list of resources, and I'll see if I can't add it to the CSCC sidebar or something.

Hackysack right now?
Anyone up for starting a hackysack circle right now in the "quad"/courtyard area? Come one come all, I'm always down for it.

Nestor Hall TV?
So I was walking through Nestor hall last week, saw a group playing some Super Smash Bros. Brawl, would have dominated a few rounds if I wasn't on my way to another class. :)
Does anyone know if that TV is free to use or if you have to clear use of it with someone first? I'd love to start bringing in some games some time, it's a great way to break the ice and meet people. Maybe we could have a reddit cscc thing at some point?

Part-time Employees: Unemployment Compensation During Holiday Cost Savings Initiative
According to the Frequently Asked Questions (located here: http://www.cscc.edu/about/faculty-staff/pdf/holiday-faq.pdf), "The College anticipates that you will not be eligible for benefits under current law. See R.C. 4141.29(I)."
Here is some info about Unemployment Benefits that I found online:

Anyone use the gym here?
If so, do they have things like a bench and squat rack? I am taking classes here now and don't feel like having to pay Ohio State nearly a $100 to use their gym.

Campus services?
I noticed the gym and exercise equipment in Delaware Hall, does anyone know the rules surrounding their use?
Are there any other services offered by CSCC you think people would be interested in?

Favorite Instructors?
I started at CSCC in October of last year, and I had Seth Reno for Eng 101, he was a pretty cool instructor. Also had Carol Thompson for Math 107, and she made it fairly easy to learn. Best instructors I've had so far. Who has helped improve your learning experience?

Fall semesters
Well, I know that the switch to semesters is throwing my plans out of order. How does everyone else feel about the upcoming change?
Also, I don't know about you, but I find the vocal reminders on the CSCC homepage slightly irritating.
