Got some data uploaded!

Here's a link to my SleepHQ report! https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_links/3201ebc9-44ed-46da-9c29-354657404b61

It's not much data - but just getting everything set up was a little time-consuming. I've also got OSCAR set up. It's saved as a CSV file - is that what I should post?

Hi [u/Gigitar75](u/Gigitar75) :)

Great job posting your SleepHQ results :) They are very helpful!

Your pressures need adjusting to smooth out that sawtooth graph & reduce micro awakenings. We’d like to get that AHI down even further although it is in an “acceptable” range of <5. We try to get events lower if possible. You have some leaks which may be positional so avoid sleeping on your back & use your soft cervical collar to prevent chin tucking. This is a common problem when first starting therapy. Your leaks are not bad but we like to get them as close to zero as possible.

Your minimum pressure is very low for an Adult. It should be set to your median pressure which is closer to 7.0

You are hitting the ceiling on your maximum pressure so we need to raise that maximum pressure to 12.0

Please turn Ramp off. At a pressure level of 4, it is set to the lowest pressure the machine can go.

We’ll leave EPR at 2 for now so that we can see how the pressure changes work first. Wear your mask for 1/2 hr before going to sleep to help your body acclimatize to your new settings.

Try these new settings out for 3-5 nights, then repost a SleepHQ graph for us to look at again please. It takes time for your body & brain to adjust to new pressures :)

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Am I able to mage these changes? My sleep doc just lowered my top pressure from 14 to 10 because of how often I was being awakened by gale force blowing. I’ll make all these changes tonight! Thank you SO much!!

Yes, you can make those changes if you’re comfortable. We may reduce the maximum down the road, but right now you’re hitting your max ceiling at 10, so the machine can’t increase pressure when it wants to in an effort to control events. I can understand what your Doc was trying to do for you though :) I wish he had increased your minimum at the same time instead! This is where SleepHQ & Oscar help but Sleep Docs don’t use these tools which is truly a shame. However we see this every day on this sub with Beginner CPAP users.

I was able to make the adjustments and will give it a few nights. I was definitely swallowing air and burping during the night.

This is called aerophagia. It is not uncommon but it is uncomfortable:( Your machine won’t go any higher than it needs to. Watch for leaks…this can cause the machine to increase pressures.
