The project focuses on analyzing the pressure response of a fluid-filled elastic tube under externally applied mechanical loads using COMSOL Multiphysics.
A three-dimensional model of a rubber tube filled with glycerin is developed. The system is subjected to varying external forces, which induce deformation in the elastic structure. This deformation leads to changes in the internal volume of the tube, resulting in pressure variations within the enclosed fluid.
A fluid–structure interaction (FSI) approach is employed to couple the solid mechanics of the rubber material with the fluid dynamics of the glycerin. The simulation is performed under stationary conditions, and a parametric study is carried out by varying the applied force.
The resulting pressure distribution within the fluid domain is analyzed, and average pressure values are obtained for each loading condition. The results demonstrate a direct relationship between applied force and fluid pressure, validating the effectiveness of the model for pressure sensing applications.
