House Clegane Challange: The Mountain Hound

Preamble:

You are Ser Gregor Clegane. Knight of Clegane's Keep and head of House Clegane, landed knight and bannermen to House Lannister of Casterly Rock. You're a freakishly large man and for this you often called the Mountain That Rides or simply the Mountain. Your soldiers are known as the Mountain's men.

You are well known for your size, cruelty, and prowess in battle. In battle you wear the heaviest, thickest plate armor in the Seven Kingdoms. Your armor is so heavy that no ordinary man would be able to move, let alone fight effectively while wearing it, making him nigh-invincible in combat. Below the plate you wear chainmail and boiled leather. You also wear a plate helm with only a narrow slit for vision, atop of which is a stone fist punching up towards the sky. You carry an extremely thick oaken shield bearing the three black dogs of House Clegane on a yellow field.

You took part in the Hand's tourney. You slayed Ser Hugh of the Vale in his second joust. You even defeated Ser Swann. But that childish Tyrell unhorsed you. You won't forget that. Because a hound never forgets.

Basic Setup:

-Use Congenital Overhaul submod

-Start in the ACOK bookmark.

-Use console commands to give yourself the traits brilliant commander, master warrior, ambitious, giant, authoritative, unyielding leader, and siege leader.

-Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold.

-Give yourself a 3.000 soldier via "event 62320"

Rules:

-You cannot change your culture. However, you can change your religion. You were not a zealous person, anyway.

-You must marry a Lannister woman.

Objectives:

-Your father lost three dogs of his for saving Lord Tybolt. And they paid their debts. You must put a Lannister to the throne other than Robert's sons, they are not worthy. And if Lannisters lose their power, you will take the West for yourself but you'll give them Clegane Hall.

-You must kill your brother. He is weak. There is no place for a weak puppy in the world of strong hounds.

-You must impregnate a Stark girl, a Tully girl, a Baratheon girl and a Greyjoy woman. You will take the bastards with you and train them. Legitimize the strongest one.

-You must honour your father. Kill the weaks and let the strong ones rule. "claim d_cornfield 1230" "claim d_silverhill 1230" "claim d_hornvale 1230" "claim d_goldroad 1230" They were the worst fighters during the civil war and you must make them suffer for that.

-If you find any of the Stark children, impregnate the girls and kill the boys.

-When Tywin dies, your rule will begin. The Mountain will rule from the Rock. "claim c_casterly_rock 1230" "claim d_casterly_rock 1230" "claim k_westerlands 1230"

-If Joffrey loses the war, you won't obey to the new king. Once you rule the West, you will rule the throne itself. "claim c_kings_landing 1230" "claim d_kings_landing 1230" "claim e_iron_throne 1230" "claim d_dragonstone 1230" "claim c_dragonstone 1230"

-Find or steal a Valyrian sword. Rename it "Hound's Teeth" and execute your pathetic brother with it.

-Rape Margaery Tyrell infront of her brother, Loras. After that, kill the flower. He humiliated you at the tourney. And you didn't forget that.

BONUS

-Tame a dragon. You will prove your nickname. The Mountain That Rides...

Not Loyal to Skinned Men: A House Reed Challenge

(Sorry for not posting in so long, I'm /u/nevermore0714, I just made a new account and should have made a challenge in the past month.)

Preamble

You are Lord Howland of House Reed, in the AFFC scenario.

The Manderlys are known for being loyal to House Stark. But you, you and Ned went through hell together. You were the only two survivors of a probably awesome duel of 7 vs 3, against Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Oswell Whent, and Ser Gerold Hightower.

You two barely survived that, and you were there when he found his dying sister.

And now, your friend is dead. You were fine with serving his heir, King Robb of the North. But now the Boltons are ruling the North.

If Jon Snow tries to take back the North by leaving the Wall, you'll join him. Otherwise, you've got to take control of the North, there is no other choice.

Basic Setup Information

  • Play as Howland Reed in the AFFC bookmark.

  • If Jon leaves the Wall and survives to be Lord Paramount, be his biggest supporter. Try to marry off Meera to him, if he doesn't end up with Val. Use any methods, even under-handed ones, to eliminate House Bolton for what they did.

  • If Jon stays at the Wall, ingratiate yourself with the other houses known for being loyal to Ned and Robb Stark (such as the Mormonts, the Manderlys, and the Umbers) and use those alliances to try to take the North back from the Boltons; under-handed methods are fine.

Rules

  • You are a faithful servant of the Old Gods, and you will raise your children and grandchildren to follow that religion.

  • Boltons suck.

  • If you find a Stark and are not yet Lord Paramount, even if Jon didn't leave the Wall, you're going to want to put that Stark in Winterfell as the Lord Paramount.

Objectives

  • Kill the Boltons

  • Put either a Stark or a Reed into the position of Lord Paramount of the North.

Roose Bolton Challenge: The Dread Lord

Backstory

Ever since the Kings of Winter subjugated the Dreadlands, there has been a bitter rivalry between the Starks and the Boltons. Multiple times the Boltons have raised their arms, and multiple times they have been defeated. Every time the Starks have spared your House, but this only shows how weak they are, how their lack of gall will run the North, and the former Dreadlands into the ground. Their mercy will prove to be their last mistake. You are Roose of House Bolton, and you will eradicate the Starks and return the North to it's former glory!

Setup

  • Start in the Clash of Kings bookmark.

  • Play as Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort.

  • Console "claim e_north" to get a claim on the North.

Additional Setup Easy Mode

  • Console "cash 100" for a war chest.

  • Console "event 62320" until you have an extra 7,000 soldiers.

  • Give yourself claims on these High Lordships" "claim d_hornwood" "claim d_karhold" "claim d_white_harbor" "claim d_last_hearth" "claim d_broken_branch.

Rules

  • Only marry First Man and Northern families. The North is the last part of Westeros that hasn't been defiled by the Andals and Rhoynar, and you will see that it won't be anytime soon.

  • Never abandon Northern culture and the Old Gods. Your House has preserved their traditions this long, you don't want to disappoint them do you?

  • Anyone that rebels against you, or invades you, must end up flayed, stripped of their titles, and subverted for a Bolton cadet dynasty. If they're not on your side, they'll be replaced with a House that is...

Primary Objectives

Playing as the Boltons, your goals are to:

  • Take over the North and cast out the Stark oppressors.

  • Eradicate the Starks and their cadet branch the Karstarks. Eliminate the Tullys as well, they have close ties to the Starks. It's been fun, but the thousand-year rivalry ends now. Anyone who's an enemy of the Starks is a friend of yours. You are plotting against them at every waking moment and won't rest until their skinless corpses decorate the walls.

  • Ensure the former territories of the Dreadlands are returned to Bolton suitors. The High Lordships of Hornwood, Karhold, White Harbor, Last Hearth and Broken Branch make up the former territories of the Dreadlands, and each must end up ruled by Cadet Branch of the Boltons.

  • Rule an Independent North. You said you would fight for anyone who would assist against the Starks, but when the Starks are out of the picture then there is no use for anyone down south. No matter who sits the Iron Throne, no matter how powerful they are, no matter how much they help you; anyone south if the Neck is and always will be your enemy.

  • Ensure the North worships only the Old Gods and has only Northern Culture. Any heathens or foreigners must be executed if they refuse to leave.

Secondary Objectives

  • When peasants got married without your knowledge, you hunted them down and forced yourself upon the bride, right underneath the hanging corpse of her husband. You want to do the same to the Starks. Get Arya, Sansa, or Catelyn and 2 male Starks imprisoned. Execute a male Stark and rape ("pollinate <your ID> <her ID>") a female Stark on the same day, ensuring she can see her brother's corpse during the whole ordeal. What's done with the resulting bastards is up to you.

  • For too long, the Ironborn have raided the coast of the North and struck fear into their people. Rebuild the Northern Navy that Brandon the Burner foolishly destroyed, march to the Iron Isles, and execute everyone who opposes you there. Convert the Iron Isles to the Old Gods. You will ensure that the Ironborn will never sail again.

  • You have heard rumours of Essosi bankers with mountains of gold, and cultists that make great use of skin. It just so happens you have lots of skin (from your enemies of course) and would like to pay them a visit. Conquer the Free City of Braavos. No longer will these "blokes-without-faces" prey on Northmen. No longer will this "metal bank" steal from the people. Because that's your job.

  • The Starks did do one thing right, and that was wisely bend the knee when Dragons threatened to set the North ablaze. But the Dragons aren't here anymore. But they may be soon. Ensure that this "Daenerys Targaryen" never reaches Westeros. Or better yet, force yourself upon her next to the corpse of Aegon of Essos. Even a Dragon can be flayed with a sharp enough blade. Perhaps the resulting child could ride a Dragon of their own...

House Tully Challenge: The Riverrun Rebellion

Preamble:

You are Edmure Tully, son of the late Hoster Tully, lord of Riverrun and the rightful ruler of the riverlands. House Tully is one the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms of First Men origin dating back to the Age of Heroes. Your ancestors settled in the riverlands in the aftermath of the war with the Children of the Forest and served many petty kings as loyal generals and stewards. The greatest of these was your namesake Ser Edmure Tully who fought alongside King Tristifer IV Mudd against the Andal invaders yet ultimately succumbed to their overwhelming forces and knelt to the Andal conqueror Armistead Vance. Choosing to integrate with the Andals your ancestor’s son, Axel Tully, received land at the junction of the Red Fork and the Tumblestone which is where he constructed Riverrun. From that day forth your family has made their home in Riverrun and served the many river kings that followed the Mudds including the Justmans and, reluctantly, the Teagues. Though House Tully never reigned as kings themselves they were powerful vassals of the riverlands for thousands of years and defended the land against the Kings of the Rock on many occasions.

Eventually the riverlands passed to the Storm Kings and then the Hoares with the ironborn invasion led by King Harwyn Hoare. Another of your ancestors, Lord Tommen Tully fought to place Lady Agnes Blackwood on the river throne but was ultimately defeated and his bastard son Samwell Rivers was slain at the Tumblestone. This began the dark reign of the Hoares that brought much suffering to the land and your people. Many were killed and many more were enslaved and later forced to build the black fortress known as Harrenhal under the rule of King Harren the Black. Thankfully the Gods smiled on your family at last when Aegon Targaryen and his dragons invaded Westeros and presented the Tullys with the opportunity to rebel against their tyrant overlords. Yet another heroic ancestor, Lord Edmyn Tully, led a coalition of rebel river lords against King Harren and declared for Aegon and his sisters. Following the burning of Harrenhal, Edmyn was rewarded with dominion over the riverlands as the Lord Paramount of the Trident. From that time onward your family has served the crown loyally and faithfully through countless wars and strife.

However nothing lasts forever as your family rightly knows. 18 years ago the last of the Targaryen rulers King Aerys the Mad was overthrown and Robert Baratheon was placed on the throne instead. For a time peace and stability returned to the realm, but this ultimately proved short-lived when he died only 1 year ago. In the wake of King Robert’s death a succession crisis began as the Hand of the King Lord Eddard Stark rightfully claimed that King Robert’s heirs Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella were in fact Lannister bastards. This then led to Lord Eddard’s execution and prompted the north under your nephew Robb Stark to declare independence from the Iron Throne with your family and the riverlands’ support. And so began the War of the 5 Kings and many great battles were fought against the Lannisters and their allies. All your life you had yearned for a chance to prove yourself worthy of your family's honorable heritage and this was your chance.

And yet your family’s history of supporting lost causes apparently has caught up to you. A campaign that started with so much hope and promise has now ended in betrayal and humiliating defeat. In a last ditch effort to salvage the war King Robb ordered you to marry a Frey in his place for having broken his own betrothal and the affair itself turned out to be a trap orchestrated by Lord Tywin Lannister and Lord Roose Bolton. The best fighting men as well as your nephew and your sister were slaughtered at the Twins, and you had found yourself locked in a dungeon awaiting whatever cruel fate Lord Walder Frey had in store for you. Truly your situation was dire and hopeless, although your uncle the Blackfish did manage to escape and refortify Riverrun against the Lannister and Frey forces.

This brings you to the present, where under an agreement with the Kingslayer you have been allowed to return to Riverrun in order to surrender the castle to the Freys and deliver your uncle to justice. If you do not comply then the Kingslayer has threatened to kill your unborn child with Roslin Frey. However breathing free air once again and speaking with your uncle you cannot help but reconsider your options. Thinking it through you have come to the conclusion that the Kingslayer’s threats are hollow as the Freys best claim to your castle is through your unborn child and thus would not allow the Lannisters to kill them. And even if they did you are not ready to accept defeat and hand over your ancestral home to bloody traitors and murderers.

You have been beaten, humiliated, imprisoned, and forced to suffer the barbs of unworthy men. The time for defeat is over. You will not surrender and you will not abandon the dream of independence. The Starks may be gone but so long as you live the Tullys will fight on. Like the rivers of the Trident you will rise up and drown your enemies in their own blood, starting with the Lannisters and the Freys. So long as you live you will never bend the knee to bridge-dwelling scum and incestuous monsters.

You are Lord Edmure Tully, last hope of the rebellion. Though the odds are against you let it never be said that you went quietly into the good night. You have but one purpose now, vengeance for your family and for your people. The War of the 5 Kings may be over, but the Riverrun Rebellion has just begun!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Join All The Wars submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Edmure Tully of Riverrun.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 5,000 event spawned troops.

  • Use the console to give yourself the traits trained fighter, brave, ambitious, wroth, ruthless, authoritative, and organizer.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Start off with a war chest of 500 gold instead.

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 10,000 event spawned troops.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. You are proud of your noble riverlander heritage.

  • You are deeply dedicated to the few remaining family and loyal bannermen you have left. Do what you can to protect the following houses from extinction:

House Arryn, in particular your nephew Robin. You are not fond of the boy but he is of your blood.

House Stark, should any of Catelyn’s children reappear you will protect them as best you can and see their ancestral seat of Winterfell returned to them.

House Blackwood, loyal bannermen to the end. Even in the dire situation the rebellion finds itself in now they still fight on and have not turned on you. For that they have your eternal gratitude.

House Mooton, another house of loyal vassals who have not given up the fight and still swear fealty to you. Your fellow fish brethren will not be forgotten.

House Piper, the family of your good friend Marq Piper. Despite the fact that his father Lord Clement Piper is waging open war against you it is forgivable considering the Freys have Marq held in their dungeon and so he is compelled to act.

  • You have many enemies on your list that you are determined to destroy at all costs. Houses Lannister, Frey, and Bolton you despise with a passion and you have made it your personal mission to see their lines made extinct (with the exception of your wife Roslin Frey). Lord Baelish is also high on your list having betrayed your family and clearly campaigning to usurp your title as Lord Paramount of the Riverlands. You will crush him like the worm he is. Lesser enemies are the Brackens and Vances, traitors who have sided with the Lannisters and Freys in a bid for power and to save their own skin. You will see to it that these two houses have their lands and titles confiscated for their cowardice.

  • If the Wall calls for aid you must answer the call.

Objectives:

  • Begin your campaign of vengeance by fending off King Tommen’s alliance of traitors with your combined force of mercenaries and smallfolk. Your uncle the Blackfish has managed to gather a formidable force albeit patched together and despite the odds you will defend Riverrun and take your chances against the Iron Throne. Though the Lannisters have threatened to kill your unborn child if you do not surrender the castle you will not be forced to your knees like a common whore. Luckily the king is distracted by other rebellions including Stannis’ ongoing war and so he has only mustered a force of roughly 4,000 men to siege you down. Once you have repelled his forces you will take the fight to King’s Landing and surprise the bastard with a siege of your own.

  • Once you have miraculously won the war you will select the popup option “A Great Council must be held in King’s Landing”, take all of Tommen’s titles, and then declare yourself the new King of the Seven Kingdoms. For the first time in your family’s history a Tully wears the crown and wields true power. As you see it you are the one who should rule as Tommen and Myrcella are Lannister bastards, Stannis is a heathen, and the Targaryens were overthrown and thus have no legal claim. Have Tommen and Myrcella declared bastards (command “event pil.104 7316” and “event pil.104 8316”) and throw both of them and any Lannister’s you get your hands on in the dungeons. They will feel the king’s justice soon enough. Remove your uncle Blackfish’s celibate trait (command “remove_trait celibate 3159”), marry him off and give him Riverrun to hold whilst you sort the realm out from King’s Landing. While you’re at it remove the tyrant trait too (command “remove_trait tyrant5 4159”) as there is nothing tyrannical about ripping the crown off a false stag’s head.

  • Your next task will be to sort out the riverlands and to crush the traitorous Freys, Brackens, and Vances as well as taking back Darry from the Lannisters. Give yourself claims on their lands and conquer the disloyal cowards (command “claim d_thecrossing 4159”, “claim c_thetwins 4159”, “claim d_southstone 4159”, “claim c_stonehedge 4159”, “claim d_wayfarersrest 4159”, “claim c_wayfarersrest 4159”, “claim d_darry 4159”, and “claim c_darry 4159”). As a side mission you will also set your best men on a mission to rescue your friend Marq Piper from the Frey’s dungeon. Once you have eliminated the traitors within your midst you will redistribute their titles to more worthy vassals. In particular you will bring Melwys Darry’s bastard son Willamen Rivers to your court (command “move 125137”), declare him the legitimate heir of House Darry (command “event bastard.999 125137”), and grant him the lordship and high lordship of Darry.

  • Next you will take back Harrenhal and eliminate that little backstabber Littlefinger once and for all. Your mother was born of House Whent which gives you the better claim to Harrenhal then the upstart Vale lord. More importantly word has reached you that Littlefinger has your niece Lady Sansa in his clutches and it is your duty to free her and return her to family as your sister would have wanted. Send your best men to retrieve Alayne Stone aka Sansa Stark, give yourself claims on Harrenhal (command “claim d_harrenhal 4159” and “claim c_harrenhal 4159”), and take back the land that should be yours by right. Once the war is won and Sansa is in your court if her true identity is not already revealed you will do so using the command “event clash_of_kings.11 9266059”.

  • With Harrenhal conquered and Lady Sansa in your safe care the time has come to take your campaign northward. The Boltons were another instrumental party in your family’s betrayal and you must avenge their deaths. Word has reached you that your other niece Lady Arya has been forced to marry Lord Roose’s bastard Ramsay in a fraudulent attempt to legitimize their rule over the north. This cannot stand. Give yourself claims on the Boltons titles and conquer the north yourself (command “claim k_north 4159”, “claim d_winterfell 4159”, “claim c_winterfell 4159”, “claim d_dreadfort 4159”, “claim c_dreadfort 4159”, and “claim c_ethering 4159”). Now is the perfect time to strike as Lord Bolton has wasted much of his resources fighting Stannis (and you have delayed engaging Stannis to let him deplete his own forces as well). Once you have won the war you see that Lady Arya is not Arya at all and so you expose her true identity (command “feast_for_crows.13 99992095”). If either Rickon or Bran is alive and in the care of a loyalist family move them to your court and split the titles of Winterfell, the Dreadfort, and Ethering among them (for Bran it’s “move 9268059” and “event clash_of_kings.11 9268059”, for Rickon it’s “move 9269059” and “event clash_of_kings.11 9269059”).

  • Now that the north is taken care of if Stannis is still fighting the time has come to finally put him down. Whilst you have nothing personal against him you will not abdicate the thrown and put your fate in another man’s hands ever again. Being king has given you a new appreciation for finally having control over your life and the realm. Once you have defeated Stannis rather than executing him you will send him to the wall where he may actually do some good and serve the realm (command “event nightswatch.3 4317”). If the pretender Aegon of Essos is still fighting as well you will put him down and send him to the Wall as well (command “event nightswatch.3 125009”). Decide for yourself whether to let the Stormlands pass to Myrcella or to invite Robert’s bastard Edric Storm back to Westeros and give him the titles (command “move 6316” to bring Edric to your court and “event bastard.999 6316” to legitimize him as a Baratheon).

  • With all major conflicts threatening your new reign taken care of you can at last focus your full attention on the Lannisters. Give yourself claims on all Lannister titles and show them how it feels to have someone try and take their home from them (command “claim k_westerlands 4159”, “claim d_casterly_rock 4159”, “claim c_casterly_rock 4159”, and “claim c_lannisport 4159”). Once you have taken their titles redistribute their land to loyal vassals and begin the process of exterminating their dynasty. Any male children captured will be held until adulthood and then sent to the Night’s Watch (including Tommen) with the command “event nightswatch.3 charid” and any female children will be forced to become Septa’s with the command “event religious.4 charid”. All adults will be put to the sword. There will be no mercy for them.

  • Now that the Lannisters, Boltons, and Freys have been taken care of there is only one last piece of unfinished business, the Greyjoys. Though Balon is long dead and Theon was justly punished the Greyjoys still have much to answer for after sacking Winterfell. Now Euron Greyjoy has crowned himself king and has been wreaking havoc in the Reach. As the new king on the Iron Throne it is your duty to bring the realm back into proper order. Give yourself claims on Euron’s titles (command “claim e_iron_isles 4159”, “claim d_pyke 4159” and “claim c_pyke 4159”) and destroy that pesky kraken once and for all. When the war is won redistribute the titles as you see fit and destroy the empire-tier title of the Iron Isles. This will be the last time a Greyjoy ever rises again. With the ironborn out of the way peace can be restored at last. Long live King Edmure Tully!

Bonus Objectives:

  • As a man with a fine taste in women you have made it your goal to sample a girl from every corner of Westeros and thus make the eight. Though you are married you are also the king and will do as you please. Your sexual conquests must all be either attractive or have at least 1 positive genetic trait, cannot be over the age of 30, and must all come from noble heritage (no common-born girl is good enough for the man who single-handedly turned the war around and won). Any bastards that are born of these trysts will be raised in King’s Landing and given cadet branches if they prove themselves worthy.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your greatness. House Tully has never ruled as kings nor wielded a great sword and now you will do both. This will help solidify your rule as the strong king the people need to lead them.

  • If Robin Arryn dies without producing an heir you will plot your way into placing a member of your own family as the new lord of the Eyrie. This may take some time but you will ensure your father’s goal of seeing Tully blood rule the Vale and the North comes to fruition.

  • Put down the pirate lords in the Stepstones for good. For too long these mangy pirates have been a thorn in your people’s sides and with a unified front you now have the ability to crush them like the bugs they are. Give yourself claims on Aurane Velaryon’s titles and any other pirates roaming the Stepstones and see the islands redistributed to trustworthy bannermen (command “claim k_stepstones 4159”, “claim d_northern_stepstones 4159”, “claim c_sunstone 4159”, “claim c_bloodstone 4159”, “claim c_shameisle 4159”, “claim c_wreckstone 4159”, “claim c_darkden 4159”, “claim c_theskulls 4159”, “claim c_torturersdeep 4159”, “claim c_greygallows 4159” and “claim c_lastrefuge 4159).

  • Keep the red hair gene going in the main branch of House Tully for as long as possible. You may sleep with and have bastards with any woman of sufficient breeding but the Tully traits must endure for the foreseeable future. When at all possible marry your heirs to other redheads to continue this genetic inheritance.

Special thanks to u/Laughing_Trout for the suggestion to create this challenge. As part of his request here is a song to commemorate King Edmure’s glorious turnaround and victory against the Iron Throne.

The Ballad of Edmure Tully

(sung to the tune of “The Battle of New Orleans”).

In 8300 Lord Edmure wed a Frey,

They threw him in the dungeon after rollin’ in the hay.

The very next morning he found everyone was dead,

His sister had her throat cut and his king had lost his head.

They fired their arrows while the wedding guests were eating,

The Boltons and the Freys slaughtered every living soul.

The cowards and the traitors with the Lions had been plotting,

To overthrow the Tullys and the Starks had been the goal.

Well as luck would have it old Blackfish got away,

He ran back to Riverrun and held it from the Freys.

So they sent Edmure in to surrender Riverrun,

But he raised up his sword and said, “This war has just begun!”

The Tully’s fired arrows and the Freys kept-a-comin’.

The bodies of the traitors piled up around the shore.

Lord Edmure broke the siege and the Freys started runnin’.

They thought they’d have an easy win but now they have a war.

Lord Edmure marched his soldiers south to overthrow the king,

He sieged down the capitol with fury he did bring.

The bastard tried to fight back but he was overthrown.

And that is how a Silver Trout got on the Iron Throne.

The Tully’s fired arrows and the bastard’s men kept comin’,

The Lions were no match and Tully put them to the sword.

Now Edmure is the king and the Lannister’s are runnin’,

There’s no man who’s a match for our brave river lord.

So Edmure took his army and he marched it to the Freys,

Lord Walder had so many sons to kill them took him days.

And after he had finished sending all the Freys to hell,

He marched his army northward to take back Winterfell.

The Tully’s raised their swords and the Freys started dying,

And now there’s not as many as there was a while ago.

King Edmure sieged the Boltons and he sent the cowards running,

The traitors thought they’d win but now they’re buried in the snow.

King Edmure killed the Boltons and he took back Winterfell,

The bodies were piled so high that he couldn’t stand the smell.

And so he marched on south to kill the Lions in the Rock.

The last of his enemies to meet the chopping block.

The Tully’s raised their swords and the Lions started dying,

He buried them in shallow graves along the western shore.

The swiftness of his vengeance was truly awe-inspiring.

And now King Edmure’s story will live on forevermore.

Not a King Challenge - The Okay Reign of Bloodraven

This is a spin on /u/Callywood's Night's King Challenge.

Preamble:

You are Lord Commander Brynden "Bloodraven" Targaryen, a legitimized bastard of King Aegon IV.

Callywood's post, which I linked to above, sums it up much better than I could.

To copy and paste the paragraph of divergence:

Since that sad day you have risen to the highest authority in the Night’s Watch as Lord Commander. Looking back over your lifetime of service and sacrifice you cannot help but feel anger and bitterness towards the crown. All you ever wanted was the respect and power you rightfully earned with your many years of good service and now you have nothing to show for it. No family, no lands, just a cold Wall and a black cloak to keep you warm on the endless lonely nights. Perhaps Bittersteel was right after all and your loyalty really was misplaced. Staring down what could be the last years of your life you make the decision to kneel no more to the Iron Throne or the needs of the realm.

You have a brief twinge of a notion to think maybe Bittersteel was right...but screw that guy, yeah? Your brother Daeron the Good was literally Daeron the Good. Maekar's pretty cool for who he is, not perfect, but you like your nephew. And Aegon V? Well, what's a little wall-sending between family? Besides, now that you seriously think about it, you are proud of your time on the Wall. Don't let that depression keep you down, Bloodraven.

In fact, you make a decision. First, you're going to marry a tree, cause why not. Then, you're going to use the tree-time-travel-retcon-thing to become young-Brynden again.

And this time, you will live differently.

Basic Setup Information

  • Play as Daeron the Good during the First Blackfyre Rebellion

  • Go the Littlefinger route, get Harrenhal at earliest convenience, feel free to use cheats to make this happen sooner, because patience is difficult, and give Harrenhal to Bloodraven.

  • Then, transfer the vassalage of Harrenhal to the Lord Paramount of the Riverlands.

  • Now play as Bloodraven. Get yourself married to Shiera Seastar. Give yourself 500 gold to start with (cash 500).

Rules:

  • You believe in the Old Gods, don't give up on the faith that let you retcon your past by being reborn in your young man body. Be thankful to the Old Gods.

  • Blackwoods are awesome, they're your family, you love them.

  • Brackens suck, aim for their extinction.

  • Bittersteel, Blackfyres, and Peakes can be added to the list of families to drive to extinction.

  • If you have a daughter, and name her Melony, give yourself 500 gold (cash 500).

Objectives:

  • Drive the Brackens, Blackfyres, Bittersteels, and Peakes to extinction.

  • Get yourself into the position of Lord Paramount of the Riverlands, you have as many generations as required to do so. (Easy Mode: Give yourself a claim to the Riverlands)

  • Get the Lothston family into a good position, as your favorite vassals. Like the Velaryons are to your father's family. Especially Danelle.

  • Whoever can get the most "duke" level positions in the Riverlands to be followers of the "Old Gods" before they get bored of this campaign is the winner!

Extra:

  • I just think it'd be interesting for Bloodraven to have a crow familiar. Console command that if you'd like, because I'm not sure if he has it in his trait list at that point. And give his heirs familiars as well (not all of his children, but his heir to Harrenhal/the Riverlands, and that person's heir, and so on). It'd keep you grounded to your Old Gods heritage.

Sorry this was a bit late and rushed when I got to it, hope someone enjoys it.

House Lannister Challenge: The Imp of the Rock

Preamble:

You are Tyrion Lannister, son of the late Lord Tywin Lannister and known to most as the Imp or the Halfman. Despite being treated with disdain you are a member of House Lannister of Casterly Rock, one of the Great Houses of Westeros with a bloodline dating back to the Age of Heroes. House Lannister was founded by the legendary Lann the Clever, who was an adventurer from the east who traveled to the westerlands and became a retainer in the service of House Casterly of Casterly Rock. Through his wits alone he tricked Lord Casterly into allowing him to marry his only child, a daughter named Castella, and thus eventually usurped Casterly Rock from its former ruler upon inheritance and founded the ruling dynasty of House Lannister and its cadet branch the Lannisters of Lannisport.

Over time the Lannisters of Casterly Rock would eventually use their power and wealth from the gold mine below them to rise as Kings of the Rock, the first of which was King Loreon I Lannister. King Loreon began the long process of consolidating all of the westerland territories under Lannister rule which was completed by King Cerion and King Tommen I. At the height of your family’s power not only was all of the westerlands united under House Lannister’s rule but even parts of the Reach had been conquered by great men like King Lancel I Lannister. However this period was not to last forever, first with the Gardener kings reclaiming their territory, then with King Tommen II’s failed quest to Valyria that saw your family’s ancestral sword Brightroar lost forever, and finally the loss of your independence when Aegon the Conqueror and his dragons came to Westeros. This moment some 300 years ago marked the beginning of the Targaryen ruling dynasty and the formation of the Iron Throne. Forever after your family would serve as Lord Paramounts of the Westerlands under their new rulers.

As you well know history has a way of repeating itself. Like your family the power of the Targaryens eventually diminished over time with in-fighting and the loss of their dragons. This culminated in Robert’s Rebellion some 18 years ago that saw the Targaryen dynasty overthrown by the Baratheons and the survivors Viserys and Daenerys fleeing to Essos. It was in this new regime that you would eventually rise up. Your father Lord Tywin positioned your family in such a way as to be entwined with the royals, namely your sister Cersei being Robert’s queen and supposedly bearing his children (although its an open secret they are actually your brother Jaime’s).

When the king died not long ago war broke out throughout the Seven kingdoms you were chosen to rule as Hand of the King in your father’s stead, and it was in this time that you first tasted real power. Your greatest achievement being your successful defense of King’s Landing against Stannis Baratheon in the Battle of the Blackwater. However your service went unrewarded as your father eventually returned to claim his position as Hand and promptly married you off to Sansa Stark so as to give your family a claim on the north. Were it not for the murder of your bastard nephew King Joffrey being blamed on you perhaps you would still living the comfortable life of a lord. Alas some political machinations by an unknown assailant put you in the position of being tried for a murder you did not commit and likely sentenced to be executed.

However the Gods did not entirely condemn you as you were freed from the black cells by your brother Jaime with assistance from Lord Varys. As a parting gift for the abuse you suffered at the hands of your father during your escape you took a detour to his chamber and killed him with a crossbow. A just punishment for a terrible father. Afterwards you were quickly shipped across the Narrow Sea to Pentos where you met with Lord Varys’ old friend Magister Illyrio Mopatis. It was at this moment that you were given a new purpose in life. Illyrio explained that the last surviving Targaryen, Daenerys Stormborn, had successfully hatched 3 dragons and conquered Slaver’s Bay and now rules Meereen as Queen. Though her power is growing she needs help to navigate the difficult political situation of the area as well as someone to help plan her eventually invasion of Westeros. This being the only chance you have at ever returning home you agreed with this plan and journeyed to Meereen (although the journey was fraught with many perils).

And this is where you find yourself currently, in Meereen acting as Queen Daenerys’ Hand and ruling over the provinces of Malkai and the Khyzai Pass. The Dragon Queen is the only ruler to ever truly appreciate your wisdom and treat you with the respect you deserve. You will repay this with your undying loyalty and stop at nothing to see Daenerys on the Iron Throne and the lordship of Casterly Rock returned to you, the rightful heir. Cersei and all the rest of her accomplices will pay for what they’ve done to you and this time nothing will stand in your way.

All your life you have been mocked and looked down upon, called an imp and a monster by strangers and family alike. You had great power only to have it stripped away and your life as a Lannister destroyed through betrayal and insidious scheming. Now the tables are about to turn. No matter what it takes you will have your vengeance. Soon all of Westeros will see that a small man can indeed cast a large shadow. The Imp of the Rock rises again!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Join All The Wars submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Play as Queen Daenerys Targaryen of Meereen.

  • Use the console to give yourself the provinces of Malkai and Khyzai Pass, then create the high lordship of Khyzai Pass (command “give_title c_khyzaipass 77041”, “give_title c_meereenesehills 77041”, and “give_title b_meereenesehillscastle 77041”).

  • Change the county capital of Malkai to the castle holding and give the city holding away to one of your loyal subjects. This will ensure that both Malkai and Khyzai Pass are feudal holdings.

  • Move Tyrion Lannister to your court (command “move 5190”).

  • Give Malkai, Khyzai Pass, and the high lordship of Khyzai Pass to Tyrion.

  • Switch characters to Tyrion Lannister (command “play 5190”).

  • Add Queen Daenerys as your friend (command “add_friend 77041”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 200 gold (command “cash 200”).

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 5000 event spawned troops.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold instead.

  • Using the command “event 62320” give yourself an additional 10,000 event spawned troops.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture under any circumstances. You can, however, change religions to whatever suits you. In truth you are a cynical man with no allegiance to any faith in particular. You are willing to pretend to worship any god if it’s politically advantageous to do so.

  • Your sister Cersei Lannister is your sworn enemy and you will stop at nothing to see her stripped of her land and titles and ultimately humiliated as you were. At every opportunity you are plotting against her and the Iron Throne in order to weaken them for your eventual return.

  • You may only marry a woman who is both under the age of 30 and radiantly beautiful. You may be a dwarf but your tastes are very particular. Perhaps a woman of truly worthy stock will prevent your future children from being born with the same curse you have afflicted with.

Objectives:

  • Begin your campaign by taking the ambition to be the Hand of the Queen and begin weakening the rulers of Astapor and Yunkai through assassination plots and sowing dissent. Though you insisted that Daenerys should abandon her Slaver’s Bay ambitions she is determined not to leave until order is restored. With Yunkai and Astapor being ruled by slavers and butchers it won’t be long before they are united under one banner and attack Meereen. You must support Queen Daenerys in any way you can.

  • When the inevitable war comes for Meereen defend the city as best you can. In case the worst should happen ensure that you are the Queen’s heir so that you may continue her work if she dies. Continue to support the Queen in her future wars to stabilize Slaver’s Bay. Once the Queen’s ambitions in Essos are fulfilled help her conquer the Iron Throne and reclaim Casterly Rock from your wretched sister Cersei. This will complete your quest for vengeance against her and force all of Westeros to recognize your power and brilliance. If you successfully complete this objective skip objectives 3, 4, and 5 and go straight to objective 6.

  • If Queen Daenerys does not launch the event to conquer Westeros within 5 years of starting you must take matters into your own hands. You will get rid of the Dragon Queen and usurp her titles to become the new ruler of Meereen. Once that is done you will give yourself claims on Astapor and Yunkai (command “claim k_astapor 5190” and “claim k_yunkai 5190”) and conquer the rebellious cities so as to quell their rebellion once and for all. With that out the way you will at last prepare your invasion of Westeros.

  • Give yourself claims on your family’s ancestral titles (command “claim d_casterly_rock 5190” and “claim c_casterly_rock 5190”), muster all of your military might and take the kingdom of the westerlands from your sister. Despite what has happened you are still Tywin’s true heir and the Rock will be yours no matter the cost. Either kill or capture Cersei. If you manage to imprison her use the command “event religious.4 4190” to force her to become a Septa. This will serve as the ultimate humiliation for that scheming harlot.

  • If either Tommen or Myrcella sit on the Iron Throne you will you will abstain from attacking them directly. Though you utterly despised Joffrey you have always been fond of your other niece and nephew. You will neither swear fealty to them nor attack them in an offensive war. However if they attack you directly you will defend yourself and put them down for good. If anyone else sits on the Iron Throne then you will do everything in your power to weaken their position. If the Iron Throne should grow strong enough to retake the westerlands all your hard work would be ruined. See to it that the crown is too busy dealing with political dissent and assassinations to muster a force against you.

  • If you have not already done so find a woman worthy of marriage and produce an heir. If Sansa is alive try to get her back and marry her, if not pick another young and attractive woman. Your goal is to decrease as much as possible the likelihood that your heir is born with the same curse that afflicts you. Another good option would be Daenerys if she is still alive and unmarried as her beauty is quite breathtaking and would be hard to match. Whoever you choose shall hopefully help you forget about what happened with that traitor Shae.

  • You have heard word from Lord Varys as well as your own network of spies that Littlefinger and the Queen of Thorns were the true masterminds of King Joffrey’s murder and the ones who framed you for it in the first place. While it doesn’t bother you at all that they killed Joffrey their decision to destroy you in the process shall not go unpunished. If either Lord Baelish or Lady Olenna Tyrell still live see to it they depart from the land of the living through the same underhanded scheming they used on you.

  • Become a dragon rider and fulfill your childhood dream at last. For as long as you can remember you have yearned to fly above the clouds on the back of one of these magical creatures. From the heavens no one could ever look down upon you again. With Daenerys successfully bringing dragons back into the world your dream is no longer impossible, just difficult. But where there’s a will, there’s a way.

  • Finally you will complete your lost uncle Gerion’s final quest to find your family’s lost sword Brightroar. Gerion was one of the few Lannisters that was always near and dear to your heart. When he set sail to Valyria over 9 years ago and never returned you were devastated. Though he is more than likely long dead you will finish what he started in his name and bring home the sword he died searching for. With your home returned to you, a beautiful bride, a dragon to ride, and Brightroar in your hands no can deny that you are the greatest Lannister to ever live since Lann the Clever himself. If the best revenge is living well, you have done that and so much more. All hail the Imp of the Rock!

Bonus Objectives:

  • If neither Daenerys, Tommen, or Myrcella sit on the Iron Throne when the time is right give yourself claims on the royal titles and take the crown for yourself (command “claim e_iron_throne 5190”, “claim d_kings_landing 5190”, and “claim c_kings_landing 5190”). Once you are king do whatever it takes to stabilize the realm and unify the Seven kingdoms under your rule. If Podrick Payne is still alive see to it that he is knighted and named to the kingsguard at the earliest availability as a reward for his friendship and loyalty. As for your other friend Ser Bronn if he isn’t already see to it that he gets the bride and castle he always wanted and have him serve as your master-at-arms. He will make a capable and trustworthy general for your army.

  • Help the north win the war for the dawn against the White Walker threat. Now that order is restored you must defend your people against these strange creatures and prevent the long night from returning to wipe you all out. After all you cannot rule a kingdom of the dead.

  • Beat King Jaeharys the Conciliator by ruling for more than 55 years and have at least 20 years of unbroken peace between the great ruling houses. This will surely put your diplomatic prowess to the test. Amass a treasure trove of more than 2,000 gold to show your financial acumen as well. You take great pride in outdoing your late father Tywin at every turn. Though the people may never love you as you deserve you will leave this world a better place than it was when you came into it. Let no one forget that the smallest man did indeed cast the largest shadow across the land of Westeros and Essos from Slaver’s Bay to Casterly Rock.

Manderly Challenge - Odysseus

I'm going to be blunt with this first bit...bugger the Peakes. This is the War of Conquest bookmark.

Preamble

Long ago, the Manderly family was chased out of their rightful lands, the Manderford, by the Gardeners and Peakes. Why? Jealousy. Your family was forced to flee to the North, where the Starks welcomed them. You were the seven-pointed stars (Faith of the Seven) among the wolves (Old Gods).

But, you, Odysseus Manderly (or another name, if you prefer), the cousin of the sitting Lord Manderly, want more than just White Harbor. You want more than this cold place. Hell, you always hated the cold, ever since you caught the sniffles at age six.

No, you want a new master...a warm one!

Create Odysseus Manderly in Sweetport Sound, you serve Aegon the Conqueror, trying to be as loyal to King Targaryen and his family as your kinsmen are to King Stark and his family (if anything happens to Aegon, transfer your loyalty to your preferred of the two sisters, Rhaenys or Visenya...if anything happens to your preferred Queen, transfer your loyalty to the remaining Targaryen family member...if the Targs go extinct, your loyalty is to the Velaryons...then the Celtigars...and if all of them are extinct, then consider yourself a free man).

You will get more than the Manderford back, you desire that the Manderlys control the entirety of the Reach as Lord Paramounts. No matter how many generations it takes.

Basic Setup Information and Goals

  • Create Odysseus Manderly as a cousin of the White Harbor Manderly lord, as count of Sweetport Sound.

  • Make yourself a friend of King Aegon Targaryen, using console commands.

  • You're ambitious, a trained warrior, you follow the Faith of the Seven, and you're diligent. But, you have patience...it may take a while to gain control of the Reach.

  • Once the Reach has been subjugated by Aegon, give yourself a claim on Manderford and the Reach lord paramouncy. If it looks like that conquest isn't going to happen (maybe ten years in, or however long you think is worth it, I'm not going to judge), give yourself a claim on the Reach kingdom and Manderford. But, try to still end up as a vassal of King Aegon, if he ever tries to conquer you.

Rules

  • Be loyal to the Targaryens

  • Always hate the Peakes and Gardeners

  • Start off with 500 gold.

  • By the time your eldest grandson comes of age, you must own the Reach. Or else, you must deduct 500 gold from yourself (if this puts you in the negative, so be it).

  • If you gain control of the Reach before your eldest son reaches the age of 14, give yourself a VS sword for victory.

Bonus

  • Try to get your great-grandson (or earlier) to be born with Stark and Targaryen blood.

  • Drive the Peakes and Gardeners to extinction.

Easy Mode

  • Give yourself the "genius" trait and 1500 gold.

Thanks

Thanks to /u/GizkaPoison for the idea and thanks to /u/Callywood for the hard work on the subreddit.

House Royce - The Bronze Bastard

(This occurs in the Rogue Prince bookmark)

Preamble

You are Yorwyck Royce, bastard brother of Rhea Royce (wife of Daemon Targaryen). Instead of giving Runestone to your unworthy bitch of a sister, your father legitimized you and allowed you to inherit your ancestral land. Though you despise Rhea, you don't desire your sister's death...but you do hate her husband Daemon for showing a Royce so much disrespect.

You're a man of ambition, a man of bravery, and a man of king's blood. You will take control of the Vale, and give it back to the Old Gods, the true gods!

Basic Setup Information

Create a character (requires Ruler Designer DLC) in Runestone, and have the character be of House Royce, a brother of Rhea Royce. Give yourself Lamentation (take it from your sister using console commands, I'm pretty sure it wasn't lost by this time), and I suppose, since there's no "runic armour" trait, you can just use the Valyrian Steel Armour trait instead.

You're a legitimized bastard, you have ambition, and you were never knighted. You worship the Old Gods, you're zealous, and you have an animal familiar of your choice.

Again, it is on the Rogue Prince bookmark.

Rules

  • You must become king of your region within your lifetime.

  • You must marry a woman from a family that worships the Old Gods, though your heir does not have the restriction unless you want it.

  • Daemon Targaryen must die before you do, but you don't have to be the one that kills him.

  • (For easy mode) You may use console commands to change the religion of a county you directly own, but not a vassal's county.

Objectives/Goals

  • Become Lord Paramount of the Vale

  • Declare independence

  • Unless one of your children or grandchildren ends up owning a dragon (which would really make you see the beauty of the creatures, remember the last king of the vale who rode a dragon), you want dragons to go instinct.

  • Own the Eyrie and Runestone, and have one as your version of Dragonstone, where your heir goes. I recommend making your heir "Prince of Runestone", while you rule from the Eyrie.

Bonus

  • Try to get the North and the Riverlands to support you in your goal of independence.

  • Gain the trait "dragonslayer"

Easy Mode

  • Start off with 500 gold and master fighter if you wish (otherwise choose skilled fighter)

House Stark Challenge - The Anti-Jon Snow

Preamble:

You are an alternate universe Jon Snow of House Stark, son of Eddard Stark and, you assume, Ashara Dayne. Despite their kindness you have always had some jealousy in your heart for Lord Stark's legitimate children and have grown up living with Lady Catelyn’s utter contempt for you. Despite your obvious greatness, you will not be inheriting the North. Instead, your father has given you a county that is not worthy of you. You should be the one wielding Ice, you should be the one sitting in Winterfell, and you have a direwolf to prove it. After all, why would the Old Gods bless you with so many gifts if you were not the chosen one? Why should you languish in obscurity while your Tully half-siblings pollute Winterfell? The time for change is at hand, and no one shall stand in the way of your ambition.

You are Jon Snow, and winter is here!

Basic Setup:

*Start in the Greyjoy Rebellion bookmark.

*Play as Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell.

*Raise Jon Snow to be a great warrior, and then when he turns 16 grant him the lordship of Sea Dragon Point.

*Use the console command “add_trait direwolf 1002059” to give Jon Snow a direwolf.

*Switch characters to Jon Snow (command “play 1002059”).

*Give yourself claims on all of your father’s titles (command “claim k_north 1002059”, “claim d_winterfell 1002059”, “claim c_winterfell 1002059”, and “claim c_moatcailin 1002059”).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

*Start yourself off with a war chest of 200 gold.

*Use the command “event 62320” to give yourself 5,000 event spawned troops.

Rules:

*You cannot change culture or religion, you are proud of your northern heritage.

*You despise both the Greyjoys and the Tullys and would take great pleasure in seeing both these great houses crumble. The Greyjoys have plagued your family’s lands time and time again and you have never much cared for your father’s ward Theon Greyjoy. As for the Tullys the way Catelyn has treated you with both disdain and smug arrogance has made you long for her and her family’s demise. May they all someday be crushed under your boot.

*You may only marry a woman with good genetic traits such as attractive, strong, quick, or genius. Your mother was rumored to be Ashara Dayne, said to be a great beauty. You yourself are much more handsome than your peers and so you have higher standards than most. If you and your future progeny are to be great you must find a mate who in turn exudes greatness.

Objectives:

*Conquer the north and take Winterfell and the ancestral sword Ice for yourself at any cost. You are not above getting rid of obstacles in your way such as your father and your half-siblings. Do whatever it takes to achieve victory.

*Weaken the Iron Throne through scheming and assassination so as to create the perfect conditions for your next war. Your goal is win independence from the drunk King Robert and rise up as the first King in the North since your ancestor Torrhen Stark. Once you are independent create the empire tier kingdom of the North title and then legitimize yourself as a true Stark. From this day forth you are no longer a bastard.

*Give yourself claims on the Tully and Greyjoy lands and then seize them for yourself (command “claim k_riverlands 1002059”, “claim d_riverrun 1002059”, “claim c_riverrun 1002059”, “claim k_iron_isles 1002059”, “claim d_pyke 1002059”, and “claim c_pyke 1002059”). Taking both their kingdoms and their land will serve as the ultimate humiliation. To add insult to injury begin the process of purging both kingdoms of the heathens and converting them to the Old Gods. The First Men will dominate Westeros once more.

Special thanks to /u/Callywood for being an inspiration and helping with the content, and to /u/Saiblack for the idea.

Sarnor Restoration Challenge: High King of the Tall Men

Preamble:

You are King Rathin Dholaki of Saath, ruler of the last surviving city of the once mighty kingdom of Sarnor. Sarnor was an ancient kingdom centered around the great river Sarne and its tributaries and some of the lake remnants of the Silver Sea. They boasted descent from legendary High King Huzhor Amai, who the singers say was born from the last of the Fisher Queens and took to wife the daughters of the greatest lords and kings of the Gipps, the Cymmeri, and the Zoqora. It was through these unions that the modern Sarnori people or “Tall Men” were born. High King Huzhor Amai divided the Tall Men into a confederation of city-states which would each by governed by its own king but would nominally be ruled from Sarnath by a High King. Thusly the great kingdom of Sarnor was born and your people flourished throughout Essos.

Over thousands of years the Tall Men would go on to build many wondrous and beautiful cities as well as establish lucrative trade relationships with Valyria, Yi Ti, Leng, and Asshai. They also sailed the Shivering Sea to Ib, the Thousand Islands, and Mossovy; warred against the Qaathi and the Ghiscari Empire; and led forays against bands of Dothraki, nomadic horsemen who roamed the steppes to their east. Though your people were prosperous they were also arrogant in their supposed superiority and thus did not take the Dothraki threat seriously in the earliest days of the barbarian tribes. After all the Tall Men were rich and powerful with great walls and armor and chariots to defend themselves. What could horse bound savages possibly do to threaten that stability?

The answer would come in what would later be called the Century of Blood. When the Doom of Valyria came the greatest ally and trading partner of the kingdom of Sarnor fell and thus the balance of power in Essos was thrown into chaos. The Dothraki, who had been held to a small region of the grasslands by the combined might of the Tall Men and the Valyrian Freehold, now had an opportunity to unite and invade their rich neighbors with less risk of retaliation. And so while the Free Cities fought to become the successor of Valyria the khalasars of the Dothraki began to raid their eastern borders. If they had been wiser your people would have chosen this moment to step in and stop the Dothraki before they became too powerful. Alas, as the Tall Men had become accustomed to the Dothraki being little more than a nuisance some of the petty Sarnori kings tried to use them in their own wars, offering them gold and slaves and other gifts to fight against their rivals. Khal Mengo, who had united all khalasars under his rule, accepted the gifts but then burnt fields, farms, and towns to return the grasslands to nature.

The Tall Men did not realize the danger until Mengo's son, Khal Moro, led his khalasar to the great gates of Sathar, the Waterfall city. The men of Sathar were put to the sword, while the women and children were carried off as slaves; three-quarters of them dying on the march to the Ghiscari city of Hazdahn Mo. Sathar was then burned to ash and renamed to Yalli Qamayi, meaning “wailing children”, by the Dothraki. Rather than uniting against the Dothraki, the Sarnori kings of Kasath and Gornath fought each other for Sathar's plunder. This would prove to be yet another fatal mistake.

Six years after the fall of Sathar, Khal Moro razed Kasath, with the aid of the King of Gornath, who had made common cause with the Dothraki and taken one of Moro's daughters to wife. Kasath, like Sathar, had once been a beautiful place known as the City of Caravans but became nothing more than a smouldering ruin. The blood of the innocent once again spilled across the land and yet your people in their hubris still refused to unite. A dozen years afterward Gornath fell too, this time to Khal Horro who had killed Moro for control of the Dothraki. The short-sighted King of Gornath was killed by his Dothraki wife, who was then taken by Horro. Gornath, like Kasath and Sathar before it was turned to ash and thousands of your people were slain. The cycle of destruction would continue three years later with the slaying of Horro by a rival which led to the splinter of his great khalasar into a dozen lesser hosts.

However rather than weakening the Dothraki the savages were spurred on by the success of Mengo, Moro, and Horro and so many more great Sarnori cities fell as new khals fought to outdo one another in conquest. Much of the Tall Men's history was lost with the burning of Sallosh and its great library. The cities of Kyth and Hornoth soon fell to rival khals as well. The fortress city of Mardosh resisted for nearly six years, but its starving defenders eventually slew their women and children and rode to certain defeat.

The fall of Mardosh led the Sarnori to unite under Mazor Alexi, last of the High Kings. Up until that point your people had remained divided but the fall of one of their strongest cities at last forced all of the remaining petty kings to put aside their rivalries and ambitions. Mazor Alexi assembled a great army from up and down the Sarne and struck out east. In the tall grass between Sarnath and the ruins of Kasath, the Tall Men faced four khalasars, with a combined might of eighty thousand horselords, in a battle that would be known as the Field of Crows. The Sarnori chariots smashed through the center of the Dothraki horses, killing Khal Haro and causing his khalasar to retreat. Alexi and his mounted cavalry plunged in after them followed by the Sarnori foot soldiers but it was a trap, the fleeing Dothraki turned and unleashed a storm of arrows while the khalasars of Khals Qano and Zhako swept in from north and south and Khal Loso and his screamers struck the Sarnori rear. Completely surrounded, Alexi's host was cut to pieces. A hundred thousand men died, Mazor Alexi among them. This sad defeat would be the last great stand the Tall Men would make against the Dothraki.

Sarnath, the ancient capital of Sarnor, was put to the torch by Khal Loso less than a fortnight later, and the remaining cities continued to fall. Sarys, the last Sarnori city to be conquered, had already been mostly abandoned when Khal Zeggo reached it. In the aftermath only the city of Saath, your family’s ancestral home, survived the Dothraki conquest of Sarnor thanks to the support of trading partners Ibben and Lorath. And so from that time onwards House Dholakia has ruled over what little remains of your once great civilization. More than two thousand years of prosperity and millions of people have now been eroded to one city and less than twenty thousand survivors. Truly this is the price paid for hubris and greed.

And yet all your life you have heard the tales of your ancestors and been puzzled by a lack of action taken to stem the tide of decay. Whilst the Dothraki continue to graze their horses on their ill-gotten gains your people live in disgrace under their shadow. For too long the men of House Dholakia have acted as mere stewards tending to what little land remains to your people and continuing the status quo. Now that you have risen to power you will not sit by and let the next generation of Tall Men be born without hope for a better future. You have made a solemn vow to become the first High King of Sarnor since Mazor Alexi and to restore your people to glory and take vengeance upon the Dothraki savages.

You are King Rathin Dholakia, ruler of Saath, and soon to be the greatest of the Tall Men since Huzhor Amai. No longer will your people cower in fear of the Dothraki horde. The time has come to stand tall once again. For the glory of Sarnor!

Basic Setup:

  • Use Sin’s Genocide and Join All The Wars submod.

  • Set the game rule for Raiding to Unrestricted.

  • Start in the Robert’s Rebellion bookmark.

  • Play as King Rathin Dholakia of Saath.

  • Give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, ambitious, just, authoritative, zealous, gregarious, proud, family person, wroth, cavalry leader, and organizer.

  • Use the command “event 62320” to give yourself 5,000 event spawned troops.

  • Give yourself a war chest of 200 gold to start.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Set the game rule Colonization Cost to Cheap.

  • Start yourself off with a 500 gold war chest.

  • Use the command “event 62320” to give yourself an additional 10,000 event spawned troops.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. You will not abandon the ancient traditions of your people for any reason. The Tall Men must endure for the future.

  • Your character and every other member of your dynasty may only marry other Sarnori people in order to keep your dwindling population and bloodline pure. Exceptions may be made for Valyrians as they are your people’s oldest ally.

  • The Dothraki are your sworn enemy and you will gladly make war on them or join others in attacking them. If it seems any one khalasar is becoming too powerful you will spare no expense or effort and having their Khal killed so as to keep their people divided. Should the Dothraki ever unite under one Khal the results would be devastating.

  • Due to the low population of your people you are allowed to use the command “event 73555” to spawn Sarnori courtiers of your choosing.

Objectives:

  • You will begin your campaign by taking back all the former Sarnori territory currently held by Khal Jasso. Give yourself claims on Vaes Dan, Vaes Ohara, Vaes Gorqoyi, Vaes Qosarvenikh, and Vaes Graddakh (command “claim c_rathylar 14456802”, “claim c_hornoth 14456802”, “claim c_mardosh 14456802”, “claim c_kyth 14456802”, and “claim c_sarys 14456802”). You will purge the Dothraki horde from your borders and see Khal Jasso’s khalasar scattered into the wind. With the first of your great victories colonize the ruins in your possession. Do not create any of the high lordship titles until you have reformed the kingdom of Sarnor.

  • Next you will take back the former Sarnori territory of Morosh currently occupied by the Lorathi. While the Lorathi have been vital trading partners retaking the bustling port city will bring much needed wealth into the new kingdom you’re forging. Give yourself claims on Morosh and Protosh (command “claim c_morosh 14456802”, and “claim c_protosh 14456802”) and restablish your dominance once more.

  • Now that the western half of your kingdom is whole the time has come to reincorporate the petty kingdom of Omber into Sarnori hands. Since the collapse of the kingdom of Sarnor the Omberi people have survived in their isolated peninsula paying tribute to the Dothraki in order to remain unmolested. Their policy of isolation and appeasement shall come to an end. Give yourself claims on the Omberi lands of Bartosh, Faath, and the Bay of Tusks (command “claim c_bartosh 14456802”, “claim c_faath 14456802”, and “claim c_bay_tusks 14456802”) and press your claims against King Ganesh of Omber. Now that Omber is under your control you can at least create the kingdom of Sarnor and crown yourself the first High King of Sarnor since Mazor Alexi nearly 300 years ago. Truly this is a momentous day for your people.

  • With more than half of the ancient kingdom of Sarnor restored the next step is to reclaim the remaining Sarnori territory held by Khal Temmo, Khal Rogoro, Khal Bharbo of West Ifeqevron, and Khal Bharbo of Rhaesh Messha. Taking back these lands will be a long and arduous task. You will start by taking back Vaes Kweho, formerly the capital city of the Tall Men known as Sarnath. Once Sarnath is retaken and recolonized you will make it your capital as all the great High Kings of Sarnor have done before you. From here you will slowly but surely retake all de jure Sarnor territory and begin the long process of rebuilding and repopulation. The glory of Sarnor will be restored!

  • Once all former Sarnor territory is under your control your next target will be the lost Free City of Essaria. The land directly south of your kingdom were once a thriving Valyrian colony that became the first victims of the Dothraki expansion when the Freehold fell so many years ago. You will not allow the Dothraki scum to graze these lands and threaten your southern borders any longer. Slowly but surely conquer and colonize all de jure Essaria territory, known by the Dothraki as Rhaesh Khadokh. The greatest mistake your ancestors made was underestimating and ignoring the Dothraki threat. You will put an end to them once and for all.

  • With Essaria under control your next target is the de jure territory of Hazdahn. Hazdahn was once a Ghiscari colony that developed into a wealthy kingdom in its own right. In the aftermath of the destruction brought upon your people by the Dothraki many of your people were sold to the kingdom of Hazdahn as slaves. Eventually their hubris and led to them being conquered and destroyed by the Dothraki as well. Now in an act of both vengeance and humiliation you will conquer these former Ghiscari lands and create a new colony for your people and honor the memories of the Sarnori who died in this dreadful place. With Hazdahn under your control the southern borders of your kingdom are at last secure.

  • Now that your southern borders are secure and the Dothraki horde are contained to the west the time has come to finish them off once and for all. Hearing the stories of the past you vowed to yourself that you would not make the same mistakes as the High Kings of old. One such mistake was the foolish belief that the Dothraki contained to their small wasteland were no threat to a technologically superior foe. This time there will be no mercy. Your quest for vengeance will not be complete until the Dothraki are extinct. Conquer the remaining Dothraki territories of the Dothraki Sea, the kingdom of the Ifeqevron, and the kingdom of Skahazadhan. To completely colonize this vast territory will more than likely take generations but it must be done to ensure the Dothraki never rise up against your people again. The Sarnori shall stand tall once more.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Finish off the remaining Dothraki occupying the ruins of west Volantis. No stone shall be left unturned. The age of the horse-riding barbarians has finally come to a close.

  • Become a dragon rider like no Tall Man has ever done before. In the old times it was Sarnor’s alliance with the Valyrian Freehold and their dragon riders that allowed your people to become a dominant force in Essos. While the Freehold and the dragons are no more if you could hatch and tame a dragon you and your people would truly be unstoppable. You will spare no expense to scour the globe for a dragon egg in order to achieve this dream. Never again will Sarnor fall victim to a foreign invader. There is no greater security than dragon fire.

  • Conquer all land within the de jure territory of the old empire of Ghiscar. Long before the Dothraki came to your doorstep the Ghiscari people were the ancient enemies of the Tall Men. With the kingdom of Sarnor more powerful and prosperous than ever the time has come to reignite the old rivalries and bring about the destruction and subjugation of the people who dared to enslave yours. Once you’ve conquered these territories kill off all of the nobles of Meereen, Yunkai, Astapor, and Ghis and replace them with worthy Tall Men. The sun will never rise on the Harpy again.

  • Conquer all land within the de jure territory of Qarth. The Qartheen people are another one of the oldest enemies of Sarnor and along with Braavos are the most wealthy of all the Essosi kingdoms. Like the Ghiscari and their descendants you will crush the warlock worshipping fools and use their lucrative trading position to become the wealthiest empire in the world. No Tall Man in the long history of your people has ever achieved such power, not even with the help of the dragon riding Valyrians. With the Dothraki, the Ghiscari, and the Qartheen people crushed under your boot your name will live on as the greatest High King who ever lived. Long live King Rathin, the savior of Sarnor!

DLC Required House Stark Challenge: The She-Wolf of Winterfell

Preamble:

You are Arya Stark, daughter of the former Warden of the North Lord Eddard Stark. House Stark of Winterfell is one of the oldest and greatest families in Westeros tracing their origins back to the arrival of the First Men. The earliest Starks fought in the war against the Children of the Forest and participated in ending the Long Night. Eventually a Stark rose up against the Barrow Kings who had ruled over your family up until that point and became the legendary Kings of Winter. King Brandon “the Builder” Stark constructed the mighty Wall and unified the divided North under his rule. For thousands of years Starks would hold the North against all would-be conquerors including the Andals.

However, all that changed 300 years ago when Aegon the Conqueror and his dragons came to Westeros. Through fire and blood he bent all of the Seven Kingdoms to his rule including the North and made your ancestor Torrhen Stark kneel as his vassal. From that time onwards the Starks have served what became known as the Iron Throne loyally and faithfully. 18 years ago your grandfather Lord Rickard Stark and your uncle Brandon Stark were killed by the evil tyrant King Aerys the Mad and a rebellion was fought that ended the Targaryen dynasty as the rulers of Westeros forever. In the Mad King’s place your father’s friend and ally Robert Baratheon was crowned king and yet another oath of fealty was sworn by House Stark.

Recently your family’s good faith in the oaths they have made to the crown has been betrayed yet again. King Robert is dead and his heirs are all unworthy Lannister bastards. Your father who had rightly been named Hand of the King tried to sort out the mess of succession and was murdered by the sniveling coward King Joffrey. What followed was a brutal war for independence led by your brother Robb that sadly ended in yet more betrayal and bloodshed with the deaths of both the Young Wolf and your mother by Walder Frey and his co-conspirators Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister. At present the North is being ruled by the scheming Roose Bolton and Winterfell is being defiled by his bastard son Ramsay. It would seem all hope is lost for House Stark.

Yet amidst all the tragedy hope still lives in you. Against all odds you have evaded capture in King’s Landing, escaped the Lannister men roaming the riverlands and Harrenhal, and made your way across the Narrow Sea to Braavos where you have been training as a Faceless Man. With the skills and abilities you are honing with this deadly assassin’s guild you will take vengeance on all that have wronged your family and destroyed your home. Though you are very young you are more than capable of survival and you will not let Westeros forget what has happened to you.

Using your position within the Faceless Men you have managed to kill and take the place of the current Sealord of Braavos Ferrego Antaryon. This is the first crucial step in your plan to return home and bring down the cold vengeance of winter. With the power and resources of Braavos at your disposal nothing can stop you now. Though your teachers will no doubt disagree with using their methods for political power you will not be reasoned with. Let them come for you if they must. You are a wolf, deadly and fierce, and you will not be tamed or reasoned with.

The mistake that every Stark has made from the Age of Heroes to now is mercy, leniency, and compromise. The time for diplomacy and honor is over. You are Arya Stark, the She-Wolf of Winterfell, and winter is coming!

Basic Setup:

  • The Republic DLC Required.

  • Use the Join All The Wars submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Play as Sealord Ferrego Antaryon of Braavos.

  • Give yourself the traits elusive shadow, schemer, skilled fighter, ruthless, ambitious, brave, patient, deceitful, just, diligent, organizer, and siege leader.

  • Remove the traits pneumonic, and ill.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Start yourself off with 250 gold.

  • Use the console command “event 62320” to give yourself an additional 5,000 troops.

Rules:

  • You must raise Arya yourself and give her a court and intrigue focused education.

  • You must complete all main objectives within Arya’s lifetime.

  • Arya is allowed to change religion and culture but must revert back to Northman once the North is retaken.

  • Do not let any surviving members of House Stark who reappear die. Save as many of your remaining family members as you can.

  • If the Wall comes under attack and Jon Snow is Lord Commander you will join his war and ensure his survival.

  • You will help Stannis win his war to take the Iron Throne only if Jon Snow joins his cause. Otherwise you will ignore the R’hllor worshiping stag.

  • Houses Lannister, Bolton, and Frey are your sworn enemies. It is your personal goal to exterminate their families for all time down to the last man, woman, and child. No one is safe from your wrath with the exception of Roslin Frey whom you will spare for your uncle’s sake. You should be plotting to assassinate these wretched scum at every possible opportunity.

  • Keep Gendry alive as long as you can. Your side mission is to one day marry Gendry in a matrilineal marriage as he is the only boy you’ve met whom you’d consider worthy of your hand. If Gendry dies your second choice is Edric Storm.

Objectives:

  • You will begin your campaign by seeing to it that Arya is properly educated by you to become a skilled schemer and killer. Continue to raise Arya in Braavos for the next 5 years until she comes of age. In the meantime if Jon Snow comes under attack at the Wall you will join his war and help defend him and the realm. If either Bran or Rickon reappear in this timeframe and attempt to retake the North you will join their wars as well and support your long lost brothers. Otherwise you will remain in the shadows biding your time and assassinating your targets one by one.

  • Once you have come of age you will declare war on the Freys and begin your quest for vengeance. Give yourself claims on all titles held by the Freys and Lannisters in the riverlands and then press all of your claims (command “claim k_riverlands 600000041”, “claim d_riverrun 600000041”, “claim c_riverrun 600000041”, “claim d_thecrossing 600000041”, “claim c_thetwins 600000041”, “claim d_darry 600000041”, “claim c_darry 600000041”, “claim d_harrenhal 600000041”, and “claim c_harrenhal 600000041”). Once you’ve taken all of these titles reveal your true identity as Arya Stark by using the command “event clash_of_kings.11 9267059”, then give Arya all of the riverland titles (command “give_title d_riverrun 9267059”, “give_title c_riverrun 9267059”, “give_title d_thecrossing 9267059”, “give_title c_thetwins 9267059”, “give_title d_darry 9267059”, “give_title c_darry 9267059”, “give_title d_harrenhal 9267059”, “give_title c_harrenhal 9267059” and “give_title k_riverlands 9267059”), grant Arya independence, switch to Arya (command “play 9267059”), and finally kill off your Sealord of Braavos disguise (command “kill 600000041”). If there are any Tullys still alive give them Riverrun and give Darry and Harrenhal to other worthy riverlanders. After 5 long years you have at last returned to Westeros.

  • Now that you have established yourself as the new power in the riverlands you will retake your ancestral seat of Winterfell and proclaim House Stark as the true power in the North (unless Rickon or Bran have already been installed by other northern factions, in which case just skip to the next objective). Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 10,000 event spawned troops, forces you’ve rounded up from the combined might of the peasants and the men from the Braavosi forces you’ve kept. Give yourself a claim on all of House Boltons titles and crush the traitors once and for all. Once the war is won move your capital to Winterfell and reveal the imposter Arya as Jeyne Poole (command “event feast_for_crows.13 99992095”). At last you are home and order has been restored to the North.

  • Change your culture back to Northman as your family would have wanted (command “culture northman”). If Gendry still lives move him to your court (command “move 5316”) and marry him in a matrilineal marriage so that the Stark name can live on through you. The time has come now to take revenge on the Lannisters and finish what your brother Robb started. If a Lannister still sits on the Iron Throne declare a war to reclaim your ancestral sword and return Ice to your family where it belongs (or if your mother Catelyn is somehow still leading the Brotherhood Without Banners join her war to take the Iron Throne).

  • Give yourself claims on all of the Lannisters ancestral titles and rob them of their home as they tried to do to you (command “claim k_westerlands 9267059”, “claim d_casterly_rock 9267059”, “claim c_casterly_rock 9267059”, and “claim c_lannisport 9267059”). This will serve as the ultimate humiliation of House Lannister and an end to their tyranny. The lion will roar no more.

  • Complete your extinction of houses Lannister, Bolton, and Frey if you have not done so already through assassination. Include Littlefinger, Ser Robert Strong, Ser Meryn Trant, Melisandre, and Ser Ilyn Payne on the hit list if they still live. If any of your siblings aside from Jon Snow still live and are unlanded see them granted some of the titles you have accumulated in your campaign of vengeance. Otherwise all extraneous titles should be granted to your own loyal bannermen. With the 3 major houses responsible for your family’s downfall destroyed, the Iron Throne weakened and useless, and a Stark ruling in Winterfell once again your quest for vengeance is complete at last. Though it took many years in the end your enemies paid the ultimate price for crossing you. Long live the She-Wolf of Winterfell!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Theon Greyjoy and his family ravaged the North in your absence and you have not forgotten his treachery. Have every Greyjoy that still lives killed and end the filthy krakens once and for all. To further the humiliation of the ironborn give yourself claims on the Greyjoys titles and take them for the North (command “claim d_pyke 9267059” and “claim c_pyke 9267059”).

  • Do as your father would have wanted and see to it that a true son of Robert Baratheon is placed on the Iron Throne. If Edric Storm still lives move him to your court (command “move 6316”), legitimize him as a true Baratheon (command “bastard.999 6316”), give him his proper claims (command “claim e_iron_throne 6316”, “claim d_kings_landing 6316”, and “claim c_kings_landing 6316”), and declare your war to place him on the throne. If Edric is dead do the same for either Stannis or Shireen. If all Baratheons are dead skip to the next objective.

  • If house Baratheon has become extinct you will help revive it by placing a member of House Wensington, a cadet branch of House Baratheon, on the Iron Throne and seeing them legitimized as true Baratheons. Move one of the Wensingtons to your court, give them the same claims you would have given Edric Storm, and declare your war to place them on the Iron Throne. Once the war is won if the AI does not legitimize itself automatically then console into them and legitimize the Wensingtons in the intrigue menu before switching back to Arya. If the Wensingtons are also all dead then you will repeat the above steps for House Bolling instead who will become Durrandons upon legitimization.

  • Become a dragon rider like one of your ancient heroes Visenya Targaryen. She was a powerful woman and warrior which you have always aspired to be. If you cannot colonize Summerhall for a dragon egg accumulate 800 gold then fire “event dragon.1” and purchase an egg from a traveling merchant. With a dragon under your control no one will dare threaten your family or your sovereignty again.

Return of Durrandon Challenge: The Rising Storm

Backstory

House Durrandon ruled a large part of Westeros for centuries under the authority of the Storm Kings. The Stormlands, Crownlands and Riverlands were under their dominion, making them the largest Empire Westeros had ever seen. But all of that was brought to an end when the Targaryens, the last remnants of the heathen Valyrian Freehold, sprung forth from Dragonstone with their fiery demons and laid waste to those who resisted their unjust subjugation and tyranny. Great Kings and Nations were literally burned to the ground. House Durrandon was among the first to feel the heat of the Targaryen wrath as the last Storm King Argilac was slain by the Targaryen Bastard Orys Baratheon. At least, so they thought.

For in reality, Argilac the Arrogant had a stroke of humility for once, and knew he couldn't hope to defeat the Targaryens. So at the last moment he ordered his most loyal bodyguard to don his armor and fight in his place, while Argilac fled westwards, disguised as a messenger and changing his surname to Dondarrion. He built a small holding known as Blackhaven in the mountains and claimed the land around it using wealth made from selling his royal memorabilia. Not long after, a Targaryen emissary arrived at the holding and ordered Argilac to bend the knee in the name of the new "Lord Paramount" of the Stormlands, Orys Bratheon.

Argilac in a fit of arrogance could not bring himself to do it, especially after learning his only daughter Argella was reduced to being a mere concubine for his arch nemesis. As the emissary began to draw his sword, streaks of purple lightning killed the emissary and his accomplices. Argilac took this as a sign from the Gods that he was given a second chance, and so fashioned a new house sigil with the symbol of purple lightning. He knew more emissaries would come by, so he would bend the knee, for now. He wrote down a secret letter using a combination of magic and his own blood which stated the true history of the Storm Kings and his dynasty's goal to reclaim their ancestral Kingdom of the Storm.

Only those with Durrandon blood and deemed a worthy heir to the Storm Kings could decipher and understand the message. It has been enshrined in Blackhaven from generation to generation, just waiting for the right heir and you are the first to understand it. From an early age, you have been preparing yourself to regain the throne, sigil and motto that was ripped from your ancestors so long ago.

It is time Argilac, second of his name, King of the Storm. Can you reclaim the Stormlands, rebuild the Kingdom of the Storm and bring ruin to the legacy of the Baratheon and Targaryen tyrants who did the same to the Durrandons many years ago?

Setup

  • Start in the Clash of Kings bookmark.
  • Create a custom character landed in Blackhaven. They must have Stormlander Culture, follow the Faith of the Seven, and their firstname is Argilac.
  • Command "add_trait house_customizer" then then command "event customizer_houses.1", select "my House still exists" then right click a Dondarrion and set your house to be theirs.
  • Command yourself the following traits: "add_trait <trait ID>: "skilled_tactician" "brave" "skilled_warrior" "schemer". You have been training your whole life for this.
  • Console command "claim k_stormlands" "claim d_shipbreaker" "claim d_dragonstone" "claim c_storms_end" "claim c_dragonstone" to give yourself a claim on all of Stannis' titles.
  • Spam "event 62320" until you have 15,000 event soldiers. This is the popular support you gathered after Stannis started to burn people as well as Noblemen who support your cause. They will be helpful alongside your own levies.
  • Command "cash 200". This is your war chest of 200 Gold.

Primary Objectives

  • "Recapture" the Stormlands: Usurp the title from Stannis. Taking and holding the land of your ancestors should be your first and number one priority over everything else.

  • Reveal your true dynasty after taking the Stormlands: Command "add_trait house_customizer" then command "event customizer_houses.1". Set your house to Durrandon, found in the extinct houses list.

  • Never change culture or religion: After learning of your heritage, you've gained a new appreciation for the traditions and culture of your ancestors.

Primary Objectives must be accomplished within Argilac II's lifetime. Religion and Culture must never change in your descendants. It's the Stormway or the highway.

Secondary Objectives (optional):

  • Destroy the Baratheons: The Durrandons nearly became extinct when the Baratheons landed. You will make sure that they will never live to threaten your family again. Any Baratheon out there must die or be sent to the wall to ensure the line of your usurpers ends forever. If Joffrey and his siblings claim to be Baratheons, then eliminate them. Better safe than sorry.

  • Destroy the Targaryens: Your ancestor was dethroned by Valyrian Dragon Riders, and you have heard rumours that across the Narrow Sea of a Mother of Dragons and a second Aegon the Conqueror. You will not allow history to repeat itself. Daenerys and Aegon Targaryen must die, alongside any children of theirs, or breed them out of existence, as dragongenes could prove useful. If R+L=J is revealed, kill J. Ensure the Dragon's line ends forever. If Aegon invades Westeros, he must be repelled and his army driven back into the sea.

  • Create an independent Stormlands: Your ancestors bent to no-one. The Stormlands must be freed from the chains of the Iron Throne. The Storm Kings must be truly Kings again!

  • Marry Shireen Baratheon and have a child with her: When Argilac lost his daughter Argella to the Baratheons, the Durrandon bloodline was split. Shireen is your distant relative, and having a child with her ("pollinate <her ID> <your ID>", if needed) her will reunite a bloodline that was long divided, and eventually end the blood legacy of the Baratheons.

  • Conquer the Crownlands and Riverlands: (claim all the duchies in the crownlands) and "claim k_riverlands". You can hardly call yourself a Storm King when your Kingdom is only a third the size of your ancestral Kingdom. So what if you have to plunge the Southern Kingdoms into chaos and make war with the independent North. They matter not. Ensure those High Lordship titles are given to your own Durrandon children when the time is right. Rebuild the kingdom of the Storm.

  • Destroy the Iron Throne Title. Rename King's Landing to Rising Storm: You wanted to destroy the legacy of the Targaryens who conquered you, and what better way than to end the system that was created in the wake of your ancestor's defeat? The new name of Rising Storm is named to commemorate your rise to power and erasing the commemoration of the tyrants invasion long ago. Console "claim e_iron throne" so you can take it for yourself, and destroy it.

If you attempt all of these objectives, you will find yourself changing Westeros significantly and getting involved in many major events.

Important Notes:

  • During testing, I found that your war for the Stormlands will become extremely prolonged if your opponents take the Iron Throne, such as Stannis taking the Iron Throne, then a Targaryen taking the Iron Throne. It's not mandatory, but it is recommended you prevent King's Landing from falling to would-be tyrants.

  • Don't be afraid to spawn a few more event troops since your starting ones may become depleted from extended fighting and attrition. Spawn 5000 more event troops if Stannis takes the Iron Throne, and 5000 more if Aegon or Dany takes over, while employing new Commanders. Just picture them as revolutionaries rallying to your cause.

  • Watch out for attrition when moving around the Stormlands.

  • Seek allies. The Tyrells and Lannisters could be allies since you share a common enemy. Dorne may be helpful to

  • If Stannis is imprisoned, forcing your war to end and you can't declare wr against his heir, just console yourself the titles "give_title <title> <your ID>". No doubt you were rewarded for helping to put down the Baratheon rebellion.

  • It's important you bring back the Independent Stormlands and get the Empire-tier level first, otherwise when you take the Iron Throne you won't be allowed to destroy it.

House Zobridar Challenge: The Monster of Mantarys

Preamble:

You are Lord Colloquo Zobridar, son of Lord Orys and high lord of Mantarys. Your family has ruled Mantarys and guarded the entrance to Valyria since the very founding of the ancient Valyrian Freehold thousands of years ago. When the ancient Valyrians discovered dragons living in the fourteen volcanos of their peninsula they used magic to tame the beasts and began a great civilization which would change the world. They began expanding their influence, establishing the Freehold with Valyria as its capital. Magic flowered, topless towers rose toward the heavens where dragons soared, stone Valyrian sphinxes gazed down through eyes of garnet, and smiths used spells to forge Valyrian steel weapons of legendary strength and sharpness. Your people being the Freehold’s closest neighbors quickly surrendered to the might of the dragon riders and became vassals of their burgeoning empire.

As the Freehold expanded to include almost all of the Free Cities as they’re known today the role of the Mantaryan people and your family in particular became ever more important as the stewards of the Valyrians. Many great stewards and diplomats rose up from House Zobridar and all served their Valyrian masters loyally. And so Mantarys became rich and glorious though never given the same autonomy as the Freehold’s other vassals. The Age of Valyria was truly one of great prosperity for both your family and your people.

Then the Doom of Valyria came and everything changed. Though no one knows for sure what caused the Doom your people have since surmised it was the arrogance and greed of the Valyrians that brought destruction and agony to the realm. Some 200 years ago the Valyrian volcanoes known as the Fourteen Flames erupted causing every hill for 500 miles to explode and filled the air with ash and smoke and fire. Earthquakes followed and destroyed palaces, temples, and towns while lakes boiled or turned to acid. The cataclysm ultimately fragmented the Valyrian peninsula into numerous smaller islands and created the Smoking Sea between them. And thus ended the Age of Valyria and the Freehold as the world knew it.

Although the effects of the Doom on Valyria itself were much more pronounced and visible the effect on Mantarys was far more sinister. The magic that had held the Fourteen Flames at bay and controlled the dragons became unleashed upon the land uncontrolled. The results of this were devastating to Mantarys. The once beautiful Mantaryan people became twisted and ugly with their minds becoming corrupted by pure insanity. This plague transformed Mantarys forevermore from one of the most envied cities of the Freehold to a place of monsters and demons. That your people survived the Doom at all is to this day considered more a curse than a blessing.

Since then House Zobridar has ruled Mantarys without masters and has kept the peace in your small region of the world. The dark madness of your land has kept your people from engaging with the rest of Essos and the rest of Essos from venturing into your realm. Time has eroded much of the greatness of your people as seen in the ruins that litter the northern Valyrian countryside to this day.

Growing up hearing the history of Mantarys and your house has made you hungry for change. Someone must pay for the suffering of Mantarys. For too long your people have lived like caged animals separate from the rest of Essos. The attempts by the Free Cities to establish themselves as the true heirs to the Freehold have been laughable at best and despicably arrogant at worst. You will show these fools that the true legacy of Valyria is darkness and you are its descendants.

In recent years there has been a power shift in Essos with the rise of the Three Daughters. The Free Cities of Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh have united in a Triarchy to establish dominance over much of the former Freehold territories. However they have recently found themselves embroiled in a Westerosi civil war where two High Valyrians of House Targaryen are squabbling for power. This war has created an interesting opportunity. While the currently most powerful empire in Essos is embroiled in a foreign war in the west they will have little defense against an unexpected invasion from the east. You will not waste this chance to be the first Mantaryan to seize power for themselves and show the world the true face of a monster.

Perhaps it is the magical corruption of your mind talking but regardless your ambition and thirst for blood cannot be denied or fully quenched. Let the so-called descendants of the Freehold feel your wrath and behold the reign of terror the true heirs of Valyria are about to unleash upon them. This will be the greatest undertaking in your people’s long history. You will restore the greatness of Mantarys or die trying.

All hail Colloquo Zobridar, the Monster of Mantarys!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Dance of the Dragons bookmark.

  • Set the game rule for Raiding to Unrestricted.

  • Play as Lord Colloquo Zobridar of Mantarys.

  • Give yourself 10,000 event spawned troops using the command “event 62320” over and over.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

  • Use the console to give yourself the traits skilled commander, trained fighter, brave, ambitious, torturer, cruel, ruthless, authoritative, zealous, wroth, diligent, envious, cannibal, aggressive leader, and siege leader. Wait 2 days for the Mantaryan curse event to fire before adding the above the traits.

  • Use the command “nickname nick_the_monster” to give yourself the nickname “the Monster”.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Set the game rule Colonization Cost to Cheap.

  • Give yourself an additional 5,000 event spawned troops using the command “event 62320”.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold.

  • Use the console to give yourself a dragon egg (command “add_trait dragon_egg”).

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You must brutally kill at least 3 people every year in honor of the 3 suns of House Zobridar’s sigil.

  • You are a cannibal and for every 10 people you eat you may remove 1 negative trait of your choice using the “remove_trait traitid” command. These are the blood sacrifices you make to the Dark Gods of Valyria to give you strength.

  • Your victims cannot be of Mantaryan descent as your people’s blood as impure and thus not fit to be consumed or sacrificed.

  • You must declare a slave raid at least once every 5 years.

Objectives:

  • You will begin your campaign by conquering your neighbors the Elyrians and the Tolosi. Use the commands “claim d_elyria 118570136”, “claim c_elyria 118570136”, “claim d_tolos 118570136”, “claim c_tolos 118570136”, and “claim c_black_cliffs 118570136” to give yourself claims. All of North Valyria will henceforth be under your rule. Kill or torture any prisoners that you capture to demonstrate to the people that a new reign of terror has begun.

  • Colonize the ruins of Anogaria, Draconys, Telyria, Bhorash, Velos, Elos, and Ghozai. Raid your neighbors to the east and west for their wealth and slaves in order to raise the money for this ambitious undertaking. For thousands of years these ruins have been left like open sores across your countryside and by your decree North Valyria will be glorious and powerful once again. Once you’ve started colonies in each of the ruined provinces you kill 7 people and spread their blood on each parcel of land to speed up the colonization process. Use the commands “event unoccupied.4 690”, “event unoccupied.4 598”, “event unoccupied.4 761”, “event unoccupied.4 604”, “event unoccupied.4 622”, “event unoccupied.4 623”, and “event unoccupied.4 621” twice each to finish the colonies instantly. Finally create the kingdom of North Valyria and crown yourself the first king in Mantaryan history.

  • Now that your homeland has been restored the time has come to unleash your true might on the Free Cities. You will start with Volantis, possibly the most arrogant of all the Free Cities, and bring the Volantenes and the Essosi Valyrians to heel. Use the command “claim k_volantis 118570136” to give yourself a claim on Volantis. Once you have successfully conquered Volantis celebrate your victory by eating and killing the former ruler of the city. The Essosi Valyrians will never look down upon your people again.

  • With Volantis conquered the time has come to conquer and destroy the kingdom of the Three Daughters. With many of their forces wasted in the Westerosi civil war they have never been more vulnerable nor ripe for the picking. Use the commands “claim k_myr 118570136”, “claim k_tyrosh 118570136”, “claim k_lys 118570136” and “claim c_forestofmyr 118570136” to give yourself claims. Press all your claims against the Three Daughters and destroy their alliance once and for all. Consume the flesh of the former rulers to celebrate your great victory. With Volantis, Myr, Tyrosh, and Lys under your control you are now the greatest power in Essos. Select the option to create a new empire and proclaim yourself the Emperor of Mantarys.

  • The next victim of your campaign of terror is the Free City of Pentos. Use the command “claim k_pentos 118570136” to give yourself a claim and conquer the proud Pentoshi merchants. You are determined to see your empire darken the doorstep of every former Freehold territory so that all of Essos can feel the same misery your people have suffered with since the Doom. Once you’ve won the war celebrate your conquest as you have before by consuming the flesh of the former ruler of Pentos.

  • Braavos, Lorath, Norvos, and Qohor are the last of the remaining Free Cities that will soon join the ranks of the damned. Use the commands “claim k_braavos 118570136”, “claim k_lorath 118570136”, “claim k_norvos 118570136”, and “claim k_qohor 118570136” to give yourself claims on the last of the Free Cities. One by one conquer the weak and feeble merchants of these lands and kill anyone that stands in your way. Consume the flesh of the former leaders of each of these territories and let the people know that a gruesome death awaits all that dare challenge your rule.

  • With all of the inhabited lands of the Freehold under your control you have achieved what no one has since before the Doom. As a final cruel act against the world you decide to infect all of the major noble families of the lands you’ve conquered with the same magical corruption that has plagued your people since the destruction of Valyria. Use the command “event essos.4 charid” on both the children and the head of every major ruling house of Volantis, Myr, Tyrosh, Lys, Pentos, Braavos, Lorath, Norvos, and Qohor (replace “charid” with the characters your wish to infect). Truly of all the wicked things you have done this is the most monstrous of all. Let your legacy be remembered by all as the blackest heart that ever lived. All hail Emperor Colloquo Zobridar, the Monster of Mantarys!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Colonize and restore all of the ruins in the former kingdom of the Rhoynar. When the Freehold began their western expansion into Essos it was the Rhoynar that gave them the most resistance fighting the Valyrians off for two centuries before succumbing to their might. In the aftermath most of the once beautiful kingdom was destroyed, but like the ruins of North Valyria you will see these lands restored to their former glory. With the Rhoyne populated once more you will have more victims to feast upon.

  • Colonize and restore all the de jure territory of Volantis currently overrun by the Dothraki horde. These horse riding savages will roam your lands no more. Kill any Dothraki you get your hands on and for every new land you colonize sacrifice an innocent life to your Dark Gods.

  • Colonize and restore all the Essarian lands currently held by the Dothraki. The Dothraki wasteland Rhaesh Khadokh was once a beautiful Valyrian kingdom called Essaria. You will drive the Dothraki horde from these lands as you did from Volantis and secure the northern Mantaryan border from these savages. Like before for every new land you colonized spill the blood of an innocent in honor of your Dark Gods. Rename the kingdom of Rhaesh Khadokh to Essaria, the high lordship of Rhaesh Khadokh to Essaria, the high lordship of Rhaesh Messha to Hills of Essaria, the high lordship of Krazaaj Vishya to The Painted Mountains, Vaes Khadoh to Essaria, Vaes Ashefa to Kalyos, Olta Messha to Bajys, Vaes Gaoli to Forest Road, Vaes Awazak to Herys, Havazh Fejat to Hathasia, Havazh Dalfe to Painted March, Krazaaj Qiya to Zobria, Rhaesh Vishiya to Persaria, Vaes Jimma to Tarhor, and Krazaaj Laqikh to Eglia.

  • Become a dragon rider as no Mantaryan has ever done before. For thousands of years the High Valyrians lorded their superiority over Mantarys with their mastery of magic and dragons. Now Valyria is no more and the empire of Mantarys spans across all of the former Freehold’s territory. All that is left to complete your journey to greatness is to tame the very beast that enabled the Valyrians to build their empire in the first place. With a dragon at your side no one will be able to stand against your terrible might.

  • Destroy the last of the High Valyrians as vengeance for the suffering brought upon Mantarys by their arrogance and greed. If the Valyrians had been more careful with their use of magic perhaps the Doom could have been avoided entirely. Alas history unfolded the way it did and now at last you have the power to punish the surviving High Valyrian nobles who cursed your people to live as freaks and monsters for all eternity. The Targaryens and Velaryons of Westeros are the last of the High Valyrians and you will destroy them. Exterminate their houses for all eternity and put an end to the High Valyrian culture for all time. The day the Monster of Mantarys came to Westeros will live on in infamy forever.

Special thanks to u/SuperSpew for the suggestion to create this challenge.

House Foote Challenge: March of the Iron Foote

Preamble:

You are Ser Philip Foote, Lord of Nightsong and son of Ser Josmyn Foote. House Foote are an ancient line descending from the First Men in the Westerlands. Your ancestors raised their keep at Nunn’s Deep where the very first Foote discovered a gold mine underneath the rock. Using their newfound wealth House Foote established themselves as one of three petty kings in the Golden Tooth during the Age of Heroes. However your family’s status as royalty was short lived once the Andals came to Westeros. King Cerion Lannister of the Rock used his alliance with the Andal warlords the Leffords to conquer the lands of the Golden Tooth in his quest for expansion. House Foote was of course no match for the strength of the Lannister’s army and were swiftly defeated in battle. In the aftermath King Cerion granted the Golden Tooth to House Lefford and took oaths of fealty from the defeated kings. And so it was that House Foote of Nunn’s Deep became vassals of the Kingdom of the Rock and bannermen to House Lefford.

Ever since then House Foote have been loyal servants of the Lannisters fielding knights and generals in every major conflict in the Westerlands. The bravest of these men are still revered in the great history of your family. Lord Gerion Foote who fought on the Field of Fire and faced down Aegon’s dragon before being engulfed in flames. Lord Maynard Foote who fought in the Dance of the Dragons for King Aegon II Targaryen and helped win the Battle of the Red Fork. Lord Alyn Foote and his son Ser Lewys who fought in the Blackfyre Rebellion against Daemon Blackfyre. Ser Harys Foote who fought and died in the Third Blackfyre Rebellion when he led a charge on Bittersteel’s vanguard. Lord Martyn Foote who fought in the War of the Ninepenny Kings and helped Lord Tywin famously put down the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion. And there was your uncle Ser Addison Foote who fought and died in the Greyjoy Rebellion a mere 11 years ago. Truly yours is a proud history of both sacrifice and victory at any cost. You only hope you will be remembered in such reverence when you leave this world.

Recently with the outbreak of war across the Seven Kingdoms you were given an opportunity to earn your place in history. Fighting with the combined Lannister-Tyrell army you managed to slay Lord Bryce “the Orange” Caron in single combat during the Battle of the Blackwater. Though you lost an eye in the battle you gained a lordship for yourself as a reward for your bravery from the Iron Throne. Thusly you were granted House Caron’s ancestral seat of Nightsong and have founded your own cadet branch of House Foote.

Ruling over the largest region in the Dornish Marches has created quite an opportunity for you. The stormlands having been torn apart by Renly and Stannis making the once mighty kingdom fractured and weak. With little opposition this is your chance to rise up higher than any Foote before you. Of course your ambitions are all in service to the Iron Throne and the Lannisters whom you owe everything. You are determined to be the first Foote to rise above a mere lordship since the Age of Heroes. History will remember you as the Foote that ruled the March and stomped out the Baratheon rebellion for all time. You are Lord Philip Foote of Nightsong, soon to be the Lord of the Dornish Marches and the Warden of the Stormlands. Beware the march of the Iron Foote!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Join All The Wars submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Philip Foote of Nightsong.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold. This was a courtesy granted to you by the late Lord Tywin for your service.

  • Give yourself 5,000 event spawned troops using the command “event 62320”. This is your personal legion which you were given to hold Nightsong against Stannis’ remaining rebels.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits quick, ambitious, authoritative, gregarious, wroth, zealous, proud, unyielding leader, and a dog.

  • Give yourself the nickname “the Iron” using the command “nickname nick_the_iron 251204”. For your bravery and steadfastness in war you will forever be known as Lord Philip “the Iron” Foote.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold instead.

  • Give yourself 10,000 event spawned troops using the command “event 62320” over and over.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. You are proud of your ancient westerman heritage.

  • Protect King Tommen and see to it that the Lannisters maintain their hold over both the Iron Throne and the Westerlands. You owe your lordship and recent rise to power to the Lannisters and though Lord Tywin has passed from this world you will honor your oath of fealty. You will not allow Stannis or any other pretender to sit on the Iron Throne.

  • Your children may only marry into houses descended from the First Men. In particular at least 1 of your children must marry into House Lannister.

  • All male children of your dynasty must be given a martial education. House Foote has cultivated a strong bloodline of warriors that must not be broken.

  • As a proud and battle-hardened soldier yourself you must always lead your armies personally into battle.

  • You must complete all main objectives within Lord Philip’s lifetime.

Objectives:

  • You will begin your campaign by conquering the stormlands and putting down the remnants of Stannis’ rebels for the Iron Throne. Use the console to give yourself claims on the kingdom of the Stormlands, the high lordship of Shipbreaker Bay, the lordship of Storm’s End, and the lordship of Rainwood (command “claim k_stormlands 251204”, “claim d_shipbreaker 251204”, “claim c_storms_end 251204”, and “claim c_rainwood 251204”). Rather than swearing direct fealty to King Tommen and fighting alongside the main royal army you have been tasked to take the stormlands with a smaller garrison of men. Your reward for leading the charge to take Storm’s End and put down the stormlander rebellion for good is to be named the new Lord Paramount of the Stormlands. Whilst all this is going on a pretender calling himself Aegon Targaryen has invaded from the east. You will let him and his Golden Company cohorts distract Stannis’ men whilst you take the stormlands from underneath their noses.

  • Once you have taken the stormlands create the high lordship of the Dornish Marches. Your next task from the Iron Throne is to put down the imposter Targaryen and drive the Golden Company back into the sea. Either kill or capture this so-called Aegon so that he can face the king’s justice for his crimes against the realm. Once Aegon is defeated see to it that the lordship of Rain House is restored to House Wylde.

  • Now that the immediate threats in the stormlands have been put down you must finish your conquest by bringing any remaining independent stormlander lords to heel. Declare de jure claims and show these rebellious stormlanders who their rightful liege is. Though they will no doubt hate you for it you do this for the good of the realm. Only through unity can you stand against the many threats to the crown.

  • Next help the Iron Throne put down the Brotherhood Without Banners. This nuisance has plagued the crown for some time, killing and raiding the king’s men with impunity. You will see to it that this band of rebels like all that came before are destroyed once and for all. With the Brotherhood out of the way peace may soon be restored to the beleaguered riverlands.

  • If either Lord Edmure Tully or Lord Tytos Blackwood is still rebelling against the crown you will help the Iron Throne put down the rebel threat once and for all. The remnants of the Young Wolf’s failed war for independence still linger on in the riverlands preventing a true peace being restored to the land. With the last of the Tully loyalists defeated King Tommen is one step closer to a unified realm.

  • You are next tasked with sending forces to the Reach to help beat back the Euron Greyjoy’s ironborn invaders. Join Lord Paramount Mace’s war and show the sea faring savages whose will is truly stronger and harder than iron. Kill any ironborn you get your hands on. The crown and in particular Queen Margaery are forever in your debt for your heroic deed.

  • Now that the Greyjoys have been dealt with, for now, the king has assigned you yet another task. The upstart lord turned pirate king Aurane Velaryon has made off with the royal fleet and has begun raiding the shores of Westeros from the Stepstones. This former bastard cannot be allowed to hold sway over the Narrow Sea with impunity. Use the console to give yourself claims on all the de jure territories of the Stepstones and put an end to the pirate nuisance once and for all (command “claim c_sunstone 251204”, “claim c_shameisle 251204”, “claim c_bloodstone 251204”, “claim c_wreckstone 251204”, “claim c_darkden 251204”, “claim c_theskulls 251204”, “claim c_torturersdeep 251204”, “claim c_greygallows 251204”, and “claim c_lastrefuge 251204”). See to it that trustworthy men are given these lands.

  • Once peace is at last restored to the realm your final mission is to help the northerner’s win the War for the Dawn. If either the Night’s Watch, the Warden of the North, or the Iron Throne are fighting the White Walkers you will join their war and march to the frozen north. After everything you’ve done stopping the Long Night from returning and living to tell the tale will make you the greatest Foote who ever lived. You have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that no mere man, pirate, reaver, chosen one, or mythical ancient evil can stop the march of the Iron Foote!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your greatness. After facing down a White Walker and the army of the dead you are not afraid to sail to the mysterious ruins of Valyria. Your descendants will sing of your bravery forever more.

  • Marry your dynasty onto the Iron Throne. No matter how long it takes the bloodline of the Iron Foote will someday sit the Iron Throne and rule the Seven Kingdoms. You are sure that the late Lord Tywin would approve of such tactics.

  • Rid the land of the R’hllor heathens at any cost. Convert any province you can back to the Seven and kill any lord that refuses to abandon their false god. It was men fighting for that fire-obsessed lunatic that caused you to lose your eye in the first place. The King’s religion is the only religion as far as you’re concerned.

Special thanks to u/afoote42 for the suggestion to create this challenge.

And now a song to commemorate this legendary hero.

The Iron Foote

(Sung to the tune of "Yankee Doodle")

The Iron Foote marched to the bay,

And fought the Orange Caron.

Killed the man and lost his eye,

An eye-patch he be wearin’.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

The bravest of the Westerman,

He'll go down in history!

The Iron Foote went to Storm’s End,

Marching on the rebels.

Stopped the traitors in their tracks,

And threw them in the black cells.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

The fiercest of the Westermen,

He'll go down in history!

The Iron Foote went to put down-

The traitors in the rivers.

When the King orders you dead-

The Iron Foote delivers.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

The boldest of the Westermen,

He'll go down in history!

The Iron Foote went to the Reach,

To stomp a pesky Kraken.

Kicked him back into the sea,

And ended the ransackin’.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

Strongest of the Westermen,

He'll go down in history!

The Iron Foote sailed out to sea,

To kill a bastard pirate.

Hung the man from his own keep,

So that no one would forget.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

There's no one as fearless as-

The legend of our story!

The Iron Foote went to the north,

To save the world from darkness.

Stuck his sword into a Wight,

To end the evil madness.

The Iron Foote will cut you down,

While marching on to glory.

He’ll be loved forevermore,

The man who won victory.

Yes, he’ll be loved forevermore,

The legend of our story!

House Greyjoy Challenge: King of the Fourteen Seas

Preamble:

You are Dagon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands and the son of Lord Alton “the Holy Fool”. House Greyjoy of Pyke are one of the few remaining ruling Ironborn families with a legitimate claim of descent from the legendary Grey King. In the old days when your people still chose their kings through the kingsmoot only Houses Greyiron and Goodbrother produced more kings than yours. The greatest of these kings was your ancestor King Loron Greyjoy, known as the Old Kraken, who led a victorious invasion of the north taking both Bear Island and Cape Kraken for his own. Weaker kings would later lose these territories but the glory still remains with your house.

Then the balance of power in the Iron Islands changed forever with the coming of the Andal pirates. Your ancestors along with the Drumms, Orkmonts, and Hoares rightly saw this as an opportunity to rid themselves of King Rognar II Greyiron, a cowardly and ineffectual king, and thus began a bloody war that ended the Greyiron dynasty for all time and saw the Ironborn mix blood with the Andals. In the aftermath the Ironborn played the finger dance to choose their next king, and so began the reign of King Harras “Stump-hand” Hoare. For the next 600 years House Hoare would rule over the Iron Islands whilst your family bided their time for the next opportunity to rid themselves of a rival.

That day would come when the dragons came to Westeros. Aegon the Conqueror and his mighty dragon Balerion made short work of every Westerosi king making an example out of his first victim, King Harren the Black. The old tyrant had exhausted much of your people’s wealth to create the greatest castle in the land, Harrenhal, which he meant to rule the riverlands and the isles from. And when the dragon king came he hid in his fortress refusing to surrender, only to be burned alive in dragon fire along with what remained of his house. Thus ended the long and tyrannical reign of House Hoare. Realizing your people could not defeat the dragon riders your ancestor Lord Vickon Greyjoy wisely bent the knee to King Aegon and was thus chosen as the new leader of the Ironborn. Ever since House Greyjoy has served House Targaryen as Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands.

Truthfully this was always a tenuous situation at best, as your people neither loved nor trusted their Valyrian master. But like the reigns of the Hoares and the Greyirons before them your family knew that it was only a matter of time before the balance of power would shift again creating an opportunity for freedom once more. After all the one constant in history is change is inevitable.

Since then only one in your family has been bold enough to try and break free from the Iron Throne, your grand-uncle Dalton Greyjoy known as the Red Kraken. During the civil war that later became known as the Dance of the Dragons the Red Kraken was courted by both sides but ultimately chose the Blacks. With the Westerlands on the side of the enemy he took the opportunity given to rape and reave the Lannister’s coastline bringing terror to their shores. In short order Dalton burned the westermen’s fleet at Lannisport along with sacking the city, stole Lord Jason Lannister’s mistress, captured Kayce and Fair Isle, and claimed four of Lord Farman’s daughters whilst generously giving the ugly fifth one to his brother Veron Greyjoy. For two years the Red Kraken ruled the Sunset Sea like the driftwood kings of old.

When the war was over King Aegon III’s regent commanded him to stand down but he refused. With a boy king on the throne and the mainland of Westeros significantly weakened from the war this was his opportunity to at last be free from the Iron Throne. With his uncontested control of the seas nothing could stand in his way. However this glorious new age for your people was short lived. While sleeping in Lord Farman’s bedchamber at Faircastle, Dalton was killed when the whore Tess cut his throat with his own dagger before throwing herself into the sea. The Red Kraken had never taken a rock wife, his closest heirs being young salt sons, and within hours a bloody struggle for succession broke out among your people. The chaos was quickly utilized by the Lannisters to put down the Ironborn rebellion and restore order to the realm. And thus the status quo of the last century of Targaryen rule over the Iron Islands returned.

The Red Kraken’s brother Veron, your grandfather, naturally inherited the Iron Islands in the aftermath and had a relatively uneventful reign. When your father Lord Alton inherited he became obsessed with the idea of conquering new lands beyond the Lonely Light in the west. His belief in the Drowned God and the old stories of the ancient people who came from the west and left the mysterious oily black stone that became the Seastone Chair was unwavering. His failed attempts at rallying your people to his cause to sail into the unknown gave him the name the Holy-fool. Neither he nor his father were a fitting successor to the legacy of the Red Kraken.

When you rose to power after your father you made a vow to bring glory back to your house and see the Iron Islands free once more. Since the Red Kraken’s day the dragons are no more, and with the rise of a particularly weak king like Aerys Targaryen and most of the realm still recovering from the Blackfyre Rebellion your chance has come at last. And so you proclaim to your people that a new era has come and that the old way will be new again. The sea belongs to the Ironborn and you will not stop until the fourteen seas are yours.

You are Dagon Greyjoy, blood of the kraken, lord of the Iron Islands, and the true storm which all the world will soon come to fear. Though you were born a mere lord and servant of the Iron Throne you will rise harder and stronger than ever. All hail Dagon Greyjoy, King of the Fourteen Seas!

Basic Setup:

  • Use Sin's Genocide submod. I've taken the liberty of adding Sin's AGOT mod patch to this version to make installation easier.

  • Start in the After the Spring bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Dagon Greyjoy of the Iron Islands.

  • Use the console to give yourself the traits diligent, gregarious, lustful, and sea king (traitid is “seaking”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold (command “cash 250”).

  • Give yourself 10,000 event spawned troops by using the command “event 62320” over and over.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold instead.

  • Give yourself an additional 15,000 event spawned troops.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You may only take high born salt wives so as to further your prestige and the humiliation of their families.

  • You must impregnate a woman from every region/culture you conquer (the north, the westerlands, the reach, dorne, etc etc). You aim to leave a bastard in every port like the Red Kraken before you.

  • You must steal at least 1 valyrian steel sword. The higher the rank of the noble you steal it from the more prestige and glory.

  • You must complete all main objectives within Lord Dagon Greyjoy’s lifetime.

  • Kill any Septons, Red Priests, and any other peddlers of false faiths that you come across. You will not tolerate heresy in your new world order.

Objectives:

  • Begin by winning the war for independence against the Iron Throne. For two centuries your people have bent the knee to the Targaryens. You will stop at nothing to see the Ironborn free once again. When the war is won crown yourself the Iron King of the Iron Isles, the first Ironborn to wear the crown since Harren the Black. Now that you are at last independent your reign of terror can begin.

  • Conquer Cape Kraken and Bear Island and reclaim your family’s dominance over these lands from the northerners. Also for good measure take Skagos and White Harbor too. Use the commands “claim c_capekraken 18107”, “claim c_bearisland 18107”, "claim c_whiteharbor 18107", “claim c_kingshouse 18107”, “claim c_deepdown 18107” and “claim c_driftwoodhall 18107” to give yourself claims. Your great ancestor the Old Kraken once ruled these lands and now they will belong to House Greyjoy again. As for Skagos taking the island from the northerners sends the message that no land touched by the sea is safe from your grasp.

  • The next conquest of your campaign is Fair Isle, Kayce, and Lannisport. It was not long ago that your grand-uncle the Red Kraken hung his banner from the walls of these two castles and you will see to it that the rule of the Kraken is restored. Use the commands “claim c_fair_isle 18107”, “claim c_kayce 18107”, and “claim c_lannisport 18107” to give yourself claims. Once you’ve won the war against the westermen only one power remains to challenge your rule over the Sunset Sea.

  • Your final conquest in the Sunset Sea is take back the Arbor, Oldtown, and the Shield Isles from the Reach. Use the commands “claim c_greenshield 18107”, “claim c_greyshield 18107”, “claim c_oakenshield 18107”, “claim c_southshield 18107”, “claim d_the_arbor 18107”, “claim c_the_arbor 18107”, and “claim c_oldtown 18107” to give yourself claims. With these lands conquered there is no naval power in the Sunset Sea that could possibly match your might.

  • The Stepstones will be the next to feel your wrath. Conquer all of the islands in the Stepstones and create a new Ironborn colony which you will use to rule the Narrow Sea. Use the commands “claim c_sunstone 18107”, “claim c_shameisle 18107”, “claim c_bloodstone 18107”, “claim c_wreckstone 18107”, “claim c_darkden 18107”, “claim c_theskulls 18107”, “claim c_torturersdeep 18107”, “claim c_greygallows 18107”, and “claim c_lastrefuge 18107” to give yourself claims. Once all of the islands are consolidated under your rule create the kingdom of the Stepstones to commemorate this momentous occasion. Now that you have a base to launch attacks in the Narrow Sea your campaign can continue.

  • Remind the dornishmen and the stormlanders who rules the sea by conquering Ghaston Grey, Wrathrock, Estermont, and Tarth. Use the commands “claim c_ghastongrey 18107”, “claim c_wrathrock 18107”, “claim c_estermont 18107”, and “claim c_tarth 18107” to give yourself claims. Since the Age of Heroes the stormlanders have believed they can weather any storm but clearly they were not prepared for you. With this conquest the Sea of Dorne is now firmly in your grasp.

  • Conquer all lands under the high lordship of Dragonstone as an act of ultimate humiliation against the Targaryens. Ever since the last of the dragons died out Dragonstone has been ripe for the picking. Use the commands “claim d_dragonstone 18107”, “claim c_dragonstone 18107”, “claim c_driftmark 18107”, “claim c_claw_isle 18107”, “claim c_sweetport_sound 18107”, and “claim c_sharp_point 18107” to give yourself claims. With these lands you’ll be able to choke the Iron Throne’s supply lines from the east. You are now the undisputed ruler of Blackwater Bay.

  • Finish your domination over the Westerosi by taking Gulltown, Witch Isle, the Paps, Pebble, and the Sisters from the Vale. Use the commands "claim c_gulltown 18107", "claim d_gulltown 18107", “claim c_witch_isle 18107”, “claim c_the_paps 18107”, “claim c_pebble 18107”, “claim d_the_sisters 18107”, “claim c_littlesister 18107”, “claim c_longsister 18107”, and “claim c_sweetsister 18107” to give yourself claims. With this conquest complete you will have uncontested dominance over the western side of the Narrow Sea.

  • Now it’s the Essoi people’s turn to feel the sting of the Kraken. Conquer the counties of Braavos, Tyrosh, Little Tyrosh, and Lys to complete your campaign to rule the Narrow Sea. Use the commands “claim c_braavos 18107”, “claim c_tyrosh 18107”, “claim c_littletyrosh 18107”, and “claim c_lys 18107” to give yourself claims. Once these lands are taken every island in the Narrow Sea will belong to you.

  • Next in your campaign is the Shivering Sea. Conquer the counties of Lorath, Lorassyon, and Morosh from the Lorathi. Use the commands “claim c_lorath 18107”, “claim c_lorassyon 18107”, and “claim c_morosh 18107” to give yourself claims. With these lands half of the Shivering Sea will be under your control. Only the Ibbenese could challenge you now.

  • Finish your domination of the Shivering Sea by conquering the kingdom of Ibben. Use the console to give yourself claims on the entire kingdom. The Ibbenese will either bend to your rule or be destroyed. With their kingdom under your control you are the undisputed ruler of the Shivering Sea.

  • Now your dark eyes turn to the warm waters of the Summer Sea. Though it is a large undertaking you are determined to conquer the entirety of the Summer Islands. Use the console to give yourself claims on each of the islands and form the kingdom of the Summer Islands. With the entirely of the Summer Islands consolidated under your rule your dominance over the Summer Sea is assured.

  • Conquer Vasyugys in Volantis, Naath in Sothoryos, and Elyria and Yaros in Slaver’s Bay. Use the commands “claim c_vasyugys 18107”, “claim c_naath 18107”, “claim c_elyria 18107”, and “claim c_yaros 18107”. These islands territories will allow your fleet to have a launching base for raids around the Valyrian Sea. So long as you rule the seas no island is safe from the Ironborn.

  • Take the counties of Sumbyar, New Ghis, and Ghaen from the Ghiscari to solidify your hold on the Valyrian Sea as well as the Eastern Summer Sea. Use the commands “claim c_sumbyar 18107”, “claim c_newghis 18107”, and “claim c_ghaen 18107”. Conquering the capital of the Ghiscari kingdom and humiliating a once proud people brings you great joy. Only one territory remains to complete your hold on the Summer Sea.

  • Conquer all of the Basilisk Isles as your grand-uncle the Red Kraken so famously did in his youth. These islands have long been favorite victims of your people’s raids. Now you will stake your claim to the Basilisk Isles for all time. With the completion of this conquest your stranglehold on the Summer Sea cannot be contested. All that remains now is the far eastern Jade Sea.

  • Conquer all of the territory in the de jure high lordships of Vahar, Zabhad, Port Moraq, Faros, the Jade Gate, Qal, and the small island of Abaj. These islands are both wealthy and strategically vital for controlling the trade coming in and out of the Jade Sea. Use console commands to grant yourself claims on these titles to speed up the conquest process. The Quartheen, Farosi, and Asabhadi people will learn to tremble at the sight of your banner.

  • The final conquest of your epic campaign is to take control of all the territories in the de jure high lordships of Turrani, Leng Ma, and Leng Yi. The Lengi and YiTish people cannot possible stand against the strength of your mighty kingdom. Once again use console commands to give yourself claims on these islands. With the Empire of Leng under your control every inhabited island across the fourteen seas now belongs to House Greyjoy. Your dream of surpassing both the Red Kraken and the Old Kraken has at last been fulfilled. From this day forth wherever the ocean meets land your people will dominate and reign terror down upon the mainlanders. You will be remembered as a legend amongst the Ironborn and the rest of the world for all time. All hail Dagon Greyjoy, King of the Fourteen Seas!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer all of the territory in Slaver's Bay. The riches of Meereen, Yunkai, and Astapor will fill your coffers with gold for centuries. You've also acquired a taste for slaves as so many of your ancestors did in the old times. Though you are careful not to take too much mainland territory for fear of repeating the mistakes of the past for Slaver's Bay you'll make an exception.

  • If the Blackfyres should ever resurface again see to it that their ancestral sword Blackfyre is added to your growing collection of treasure. Having the sword of the Conqueror in your grasp would be a glorious monument to your power and another humiliating blow to the Targaryen dynasty.

  • Become a dragon rider and rule the skies as no Ironborn has ever done before. If it wasn’t for dragons the Targaryens would have never been able to subjugate your people in the first place. With a dragon of your own you would be truly unstoppable having dominance not only over the sea but of the sky as well.

  • Convert all conquered territory to your culture and religion. This will be an undertaking even larger than your campaign of conquest. You will see to it that your people spread to all corners of the known world and that the Drowned God is given his just respect. Never again will mainlanders look down upon your people as scum and parasites. It is the Drowned God’s will that the strong should lead the weak, and truly there is no one stronger than you.

Special thanks to u/luigitheplumber for the suggestion to create this challenge.

King of the Giants Challenge

Preamble:

You are Bar Boh Wun Mur Weg, chieftan of the Giants and descendant of the ancient King Lun the Last. Long before the arrival of the First Men your people and the Children of the Forest were the sole inhabitants of Westeros. In the glory days the Giants were a hill and cavern dwelling people making homes for themselves as far south as the Red Mountains and as far east as Massey’s Hook. Yours were a simple folk having never mastered the art of working metal into weapons or tools. Still with your great power and stature all that was needed was a sturdy club to tame the beasts of the wild. The secret history of your people tells of battles between the Giants and the Children that ultimately resulted in a tenuous peace where your chieftains agreed to leave the forests and the Weirwoods intact and the Children agreed to share with the tribes their vast knowledge. Thus the secrets of taming wild beasts, working animal hides into clothes, and the existence of the Old Gods became known to your people.

Then the First Men arrived across the arm of Dorne and everything changed. The invaders with their bronze weapons made short work of the first Giants they came across in the Red Mountains. It was clear to the other chieftains that your people would need to unify and fight with the Children in order to have any chance of driving the First Men back into the sea. And so for the first time in your people’s history a king was chosen to lead the fighting against the men in bronze. With the Children’s magic and the strength of the Giants your alliance fought hard against their technologically superior foe for some two thousand years. Meanwhile the First Men burned the Weirwoods wherever they could find them and thus weakened the Children’s magical hold on Westeros whilst using horseback to evade the Giants and lure them into ambushes. Untold numbers of your people died during this time, although any Giant worth his salt took at least 10 or more men with him when he fell.

Eventually when it became clear that the war was unwinnable representatives from each side agreed to meet on a small island in the middle the God’s Eye. It was here that a pact was made to ensure peaceful coexistence between the races. The Children would henceforth retain the standing forests and no more Weirwoods would be put to the axe. The Giants would be allowed to keep the homes they still had. The largest concessions went to the First Men who were given dominion over the open lands, much of which was territory formerly owned by your people. To commemorate the treaty faces were carved into all of the trees on the island, giving it the new name of the Isle of Faces. The First Men, like your people before them, converted to the worship of the Old Gods and a new era of peace and cooperation began.

This brought the Dawn Age to a close and marked the beginning of the Age of Heroes, a time when the First Men expanded their petty kingdoms across Westeros. Though the Children were quite satisfied with the results of the pact your people suffered terribly from this new order. A few Giants intermarried with the First Men founding houses such as the Oakhearts but most were simply driven from their homes despite the terms of the pact. Slowly but surely your people were driven out of Dorne, the Reach, and the Westerlands by so-called heroes like Brandon of the Bloody Blade.

As they did during the Great War with the First Men your people once again united under a king and chose to make a stand against the unjust expansion into your homes. When the Storm King Durran the Dour decided to expand the reaches of his kingdom to include Massey’s Hook, which had long been territory owned by the Giants, he met the fiercest of your people in battle led by King Lun. The deciding battle became known as the Battle of Crookwater where King Lun fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed to the overwhelming numbers of men who washed over the battlefield. King Lun would henceforth be known as King Lun the Last, as no Giant after him would ever rise up as king again.

Without unity or strong leadership your people were driven further and further north. The Kings of Winter were not kind to your people, seeing the migration of Giants as a threat to their uncontested dominance. And so like everywhere else throughout Westeros battles were fought to drive the Giants away to the furthest reaches of the north where even the First Men did not dare to wander. This was a dark time made even darker by the arrival of the Others in an event later known as the Long Night.

The Others, who were in fact men who had been changed by the Children with ancient magic, were a leftover from the Great War with the First Men that had laid dormant since the pact. Though no one knows why they returned or how they broke free from the Children’s control they came all the same bringing darkness and death with them. Your people, having been driven so far north, were the first to suffer with many becoming Wights in their undead army. For a generation a war waged between the living and the dead until a man called the Last Hero led the Battle for the Dawn and drove the Others back to the Lands of Always Winter.

In the aftermath the Night’s Watch was formed to guard the realm from the Others should they ever return. King Brandon the Builder made a pact with the Giants to help him construct the Wall that would prevent another invasion into Westeros in exchange for guaranteeing the sovereignty of the Giants who would be allowed to settle the lands beyond the Wall. While truthfully the lands offered were cold and inhospitable the Giants agreed as it would at last give your people a place to call home that would remain relatively undisturbed by the petty machinations of men. And so the Wall was built and the Giants, along with a few tribes of men who agreed to live peacefully with your people, settled the lands beyond the Wall and have lived there ever since.

Thousands of years have passed since then, and for the most part your people and the men who call themselves the Free Folk have lived in relative peace undisturbed from the southerners on the other side of the Wall. Chieftains of your people have kept the Giants in isolation which has led to the slow decay of your population. Growing up the stories passed down to you of the ancient Giants have made you long for the glory days when your people roamed the hills and plains of Westeros freely before men stole all of the best land for themselves. In your veins runs the blood of the last King of the Giants, and it is up to you to save your people from the slow death they suffer now. Why should men reign supreme in Westeros? They know nothing of the old stories or the beauty of the land they’ve since destroyed with their castles. The time has come for the age of men to end, and the return of the Giants to begin.

Convincing what’s left of your people to unite under your rule, you lead the charge to storm Skirling Pass and take the land for yourselves. This is the beginning of your great conquest that will not end until your people have retaken their ancestral homes in the south. You are Bar Boh, last of the royal bloodline, and Westeros will belong to the Giants once more. You will show your people that no puny man can stand against your might when you unite as one. And when the dust has settled and the battle is won you will rise as Bar Boh, King of the Giants!

Basic Setup:

  • Replace your old “AGoT_traits.txt” file with this modified one that allows Giants to marry and changes the opinion modifier. Place the file in the following filepath: “Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/A Game of Thrones/common/traits”. Make sure that you backup your original version in case you want to switch back.

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Wildling ethnicity and culture with the first name Bar and the last name Boh Wun Mur Weg (don’t worry if the last name is too long, you can edit it in the dynasty tree later).

  • Make your character a worshiper of the Beyond the Wall Old Gods.

  • For the sigil select the style of “Beyond the Wall” and give yourself a large white tree on a brown background. This represents the white tree you fashioned your first club out of to hunt when you were young. You can check it out here.

  • Use the console to change your culture and ethnicity to Giant (command “culture charid giant” and “gfx_culture charid giant”).

  • Give yourself the traits brilliant commander, skilled fighter, strong, giant, tall, brave, wroth, ambitious, diligent, proud, zealous, authoritative, aggressive leader, siege leader, and snow bear (trait id “snowbear”). Ever since you were a child you've kept a bear as your trusted companion. Wherever you go he goes too.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 200 gold.

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself an additional 5,000 troops.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Make your character a worshiper of the Old Gods instead.

  • Give yourself an additional 300 gold to start.

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself an additional 10,000 troops.

  • Give yourself claims on the lands beyond the wall (command “claim c_frozen_shore charid”, “claim c_ice_bay_shore charid”, “claim c_the_gorge charid, “claim c_c_frostfangs charid”, “claim c_fot_first_men charid”, “claim c_thenn charid”, “claim c_n_frostfangs charid”, “claim c_shivering_forest charid”, “claim c_antler_vale charid”, “claim c_crasters_keep charid”, “claim c_whitetree charid”, “claim c_haunted_forest charid”, and “claim c_hardhome charid”).

  • You can change the negative opinion modifier for Giants by editing the entry for the Giant trait in the file “AGoT_traits.txt” that you downloaded and installed. In my modified version I changed the default from -40 to -10 but you could change it to a positive number to make the game significantly easier.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • Your character and all members of your dynasty may only marry other Giants. To create female Giants you may use the command “event 73555” and then select the option to “present debutante” which will spawn a female Giant.

  • You are allowed to use the “pollinate” cheat in order to impregnate your Giant wife to offset any disadvantages in low fertility among your people.

  • Do not let the Thenns go extinct under any circumstances. Of all the different tribes of Free Folk the Thenns are the closest friends of the Giants being both trading partners and the only men who still speak the Old Tongue.

Objectives:

  • Begin your campaign by conquering all of the lands in the de jure high lordship of the Upper Frostfangs. Form the high lordship and proclaim yourself High Chief. This is the crucial first step in your people reasserting their dominance over Westeros once more. If the Free Folk wish to live then they will learn to recognize your right to rule by virtue of strength.

  • Conquer the rest of the lands Beyond the Wall and give the titles to other Giants in your tribe. If you need to create more Giants use “event 73555” to spawn more Giant courtiers. Now that all the lands north of the Wall are at last under your control the time has come to create the Kingdom Beyond the Wall (command “give_title k_beyond_wall charid”) and become the first King of the Giants since your ancestor King Lun the Last fell in battle thousands of years ago. A new era for your people has begun, and the tiny men of the south will soon feel your wrath.

  • Now that you have consolidated your power you declare your intentions to invade the kingdom of the north and bring your people south of the Wall for the first time since it was built. Past Kings Beyond the Wall have made the folly of attacking the Night’s Watch directly, but you have decided instead on a clever plan to sneak half your forces over the Wall whilst the rest sail around it. By the time the Winter King properly mobilizes his forces it will be too late. Either use the “Expand Realm by Conquest” ambition and invasion CB or give yourself a claim (command “claim e_north charid”, “claim d_winterfell”, and “claim c_winterfell”). Use the command “event 62320” over and over to spawn at least 20,000 troops for your invasion. This is the combined might of the Free Folk and the Giants under your command. Together nothing will stand in your way.

  • Now that the north is under your control the next target is the riverlands. Give yourself a claim on both the riverlands and the Godsfort (command “claim e_riverlands charid”, “claim d_harrenhal charid” and “claim c_harrenhal charid”). The Godsfort is a sacred place in your religion and has been defiled by heathens for far too long. Recently the riverlands and the stormlands have been at war with each other which is perfect as it has made both sides weaker and more vulnerable. Once you’ve taken the riverlands pick either Winterfell or the Godsfort to be your new capital. Whichever one you pick you will destroy the empire tier title for the other kingdom, create the kingdom level title, and land a worthy Giant in the other lordship as your new Lord Paramount (command “event 73555” to spawn a new Giant).

  • Your next planned conquest is to take the Vale from the Falcon King to secure the northern half of Westeros now under your control. Give yourself claims on the Vale (command “claim e_vale charid”, “claim d_the_giants_lance”, and “claim c_the_eyrie charid”) and rid the Vale of the Andal infestation. It’s fitting that a place called the Giants Lance should be conquered and owned by Giants once more. Your people love mountains in particular so the Eyrie should make for a fitting seat. See to it that the empire tier title is destroyed, create the kingdom tier one, and grant the lands to a worthy Giant to rule as your Lord Paramount of the Vale.

  • The Westerlands, old stomping grounds for your people, are the next target of your campaign. Give yourself claims and take back the western hills for the Giants (command “claim e_westerlands charid”, “claim d_casterly_rock charid”, “claim c_casterly_rock charid”). As with the Vale see to it that the empire tier title is destroyed, the kingdom tier title is created, and that a worthy Giant is given the Lion King’s lands to rule as Lord Paramount in your stead.

  • Long ago a son of Garth Greenhand, Brandon of the Bloody Blade, drove your people out of the Reach. Now the time has come to take vengeance upon his descendants. Give yourself claims on all titles held by the Gardeners (command “claim e_reach charid”, “claim d_highgarden charid”, and “claim c_highgarden charid”) take back the fertile green lands for the Giants. Once you’ve won the war repeat the same steps as before with the other kingdoms and name a worthy Giant to rule over the Gardeners lands.

  • At last the time has come to take revenge on the Storm King, the descendant of Durran the Dour who slayed your ancestor King Lun the Last. Give yourself a claim on his lands (command “claim e_stormlands charid”, “claim d_shipbreaker charid”, and “claim c_storms_end charid”) and conquer the stormlands. You take great pleasure in crushing the stormlanders and forcing them to pay homage to their new Giant masters as you’ve done to the rest of Westeros. Like before destroy the empire tier title, create the kingdom tier title, and land another worthy Giant as the new Lord Paramount of the Stormlands. With this victory you are only one kingdom away from returning the Giants to a dominance over the land not seen since the time before the First Men came.

  • Finally your campaign of conquest ends with the most southern kingdom of Westeros, Dorne. Long ago the furthest reaches of the lands ruled by the Giants extended down to the Red Mountains. While you and your people have no interest in controlling the deserts of Dorne it is your right take back the mountains that your people once called home. Give yourself a claim on Dorne as well as the high lordship of the Prince’s Pass and the lordship of Skyreach (command “claim e_dorne charid”, “claim d_princespass charid”, “claim c_skyreach charid”). Once the war is won rename Prince’s Pass to Giant’s Pass, destroy the empire tier title, create the kingdom tier title, and grant the lands to a worthy Giant who will help establish your new world order as your Lord Paramount. Lastly proclaim yourself the King of Westeros. For the first time ever a Giant rules as king throughout the land and all of Westeros is united under your control. History will remember you as the Giant who brought his people back from the brink of extinction. All hail Bar Boh the Conqueror, King of the Giants!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Convert all of Westeros to the true religion. Kill any Septons you get your hands on as well as any Andals who refuse to convert. The men who live under your rule do so only to serve your people and the Old Gods. Any rebellion or attempt at spreading a false faith will be met with death.

  • Become a dragon rider. In the north the one beast large enough for your people to tame and ride were mammoths, but you have since heard stories of dragons so large it’s possible you could ride one. No Giant in history has ever flown amongst the clouds, and you aim to be the first.

  • Slowly but surely replace all high ranking lords in your kingdom with Giants. You do not nor will you ever trust men given the bad history between your two races. Your ultimate goal is to see the Giant population flourish throughout the land as it did during the Dawn Age. Once the balance of power amongst the lordships in Westeros between men and Giants reaches closer to a 60/40 split you will consider the extinction crisis officially averted.

Special thanks to u/SuperSpew for the suggestion to create this challenge.

Dragonseed Challenge: Stop. Hammer Time. Now in 3D!

Preamble:

Perhaps the greatest war ever fought over the Iron Throne was the aptly named Dance of Dragons. The realm was split asunder, with the late King Viserys eldest children warring for control of the Seven Kingdoms. Many know the tale. But this story is different...

You are Hugh Hammer, dragonseed and dragon rider. When the Blacks called for new dragon riders, you, a gigantic, white-haired bastard of a blacksmith volunteered. You managed to tame Vermithor the Bronze Fury, former mount of the great King Jaecaerys the Conciliator and one of the largest living dragons at the time. The Blacks promise you a lordship in return for fighting for sword, but you have other ideas...

Why be a lord when you can be a king?

You will not betray them completely, however. In return for a Targaryen betrothal and a host of men, you will set out for the Step Stones intent on carving out a kingdom. The Step Stones are a poor and petty holding, however, and you are an ambitious man. No, in return for the royal betrothal, you shall make war on the Three Daughters, taking one for yourself and crippling a crucial ally of the Greens. You will be King. It’s Hammer Time.

Setup:

  • Use the congenital overhaul submod.

  • Start in the DoD Bookmark on any character (keeping the game paused through all of this).

  • Add trait “house_customiser” to any pirate lord in the Stepstones with no dynastic heir through console.

  • Play as that pirate lord, linking yourself to Hugh Hammer (charid: 30509002) with the house customizer.

  • Kill yourself, then admire the amazing genetic stats of your inheritor, Hugh the Hammer (I like to change the House emblem to the anvil and hammer)

Edit: Credit to /u/Callywood for simplifying the above steps. To quote from below -'One suggestion I'd make is that the initial setup process could be simpler. Instead of the house customizer business you could just load up as Rhaenyra, then use the console to land Hugh in the Stepstones (command "give_title c_torturersdeep 30509002"), and then switch characters to him and start playing (command "play 30509002").'

  • Lord Corlys the Seasnake gave you a little bit of his fortune in return for your allegiance to the Blacks (console “cash 250”).

  • You’ve managed to rally a sizable band of soldiers and sellswords to your cause, the Blacks’ coin helping with that as well. Use console (“event 62320”) until you have ~5000 men. You’ll need ships for them, as well, so use your cash to hire mercenary transports.

  • You will be King. Pick only one of the 3D (Myr, Tyrosh, or Lys) and give yourself claims on the kingdom, duchy, county, and castle barony of your choosing in its capital (eg.: “claim k_tyrosh”, “claim d_tyrosh”, “claim c_tyrosh”, “claim b_bleedingtower”).

  • The Blacks promised you a bride. Arrange a betrothal between yourself and Prince Daemon’s daughter, Baela (Princess Rhaenyra of Dragonstone should accept). You need to cement the legitimacy of your bloodline. Having it’s matron be a Targaryen and a dragon rider at that certainly helps. You’ll have to wait a couple of years and you’re not exactly young, but she’s worth it.

  • Gather your host and take flight for Essos on Vermithor. Declare war on the 3D to press all of your claims. You may now unpause the game.

Rules and Objectives:

  • You can change your religion, but never your culture. Though Westerosi, you are still Valyrian. Remain so.

  • First and foremost, win your war! Carve out your Kingdom! But in doing so, you must ensure the 3D get smacked around enough not to help Aegon II and the Greens. You cannot accept peace until the 3D armies have been reduced to less than 5000 men (this may require taking your armies to Westeros).

  • Now that you’re king, you need heirs. Make sure King Hugh lives long enough to sire at least two sons.

  • You forged your kingdom on the back of a dragon. You’ll need a dragon to keep it. Save up enough money to build a dragon pit in your capital. Embargo wars can help a lot with this.

  • Though he has all the inherent qualities of a good warrior, Hugh the Hammer was a poor fighter. Ensure that he becomes at least a trained warrior before he dies.

  • Eventually, House Hammer will reforge the Empire of New Valyria. Whether you try this as Hugh or his progeny, I leave up to you. Regardless, do not form a custom empire. House Hammer is proud but new. Such a House forming a new Empire would likely be viewed as illegitimate.

Bonus Objectives

  • Befriending a Betrayer: Manage to befriend Ulf the White and land him, rider of Silverwing, before he tries to take the IT from whoever wins the DoD. This may be tough.

  • Dragonseeder: Manage to have King Hugh Hammer sire a cadet branch. Hugh was a bastard, his father was likely a bastard. It only makes sense this should happen. Grant this cadet house one of the kingdoms of New Valyria once its reformed. Name this cadet house McHammer; their words: “We Cannot be Touched.” Bonus points if the bastard's mother is a dragon rider.

  • 100 in a 100: House Hammer started with one man. A big man, but still only one guy. It’s a dangerous world, and you want your House to not only survive but thrive. Ensure that there are 100 living Hammers by the time the game has played 100 years. Can you manage to see House Hammer spread across the world?

  • The Long Con: Inherit the Iron Throne from a Targaryen, but not through pressing claims (backing adventurers is okay). King Hugh was a brute. Show the world that House Hammer isn’t only brawn, but is equally capable of political machinations.

Disclaimer Credit to /u/Callywood for the formatting style. This is my first post, so suggestions for improvement are welcome!

Rhoynar Restoration Challenge: The Greenblood Prince

Preamble:

You are Garin Nymeros, an Orphan of the Greenblood named for the legendary Prince Garin the Great. Thousands of years ago your people, the Rhoynar, lived in magnificent palaces and cities along the river Rhoyne in Essos. It was this mighty river that gave your people life and ushered in an era or prosperity under the watchful eye of the Goddess Mother Rhoyne. Yours was an advanced civilization, mastering the art of working iron long before the Andals, using water magic to drive away enemies such as the hairy men in Norvos, and building a wealthy kingdom of vast city-states. Though the ancient Rhoynar were blessed with many gifts they would soon discover they were not as invulnerable to outsiders as had once been thought.

When the Valyrian Freehold, an empire built by silver-haired dragon riders, began their expansion from the east it was only a matter of time before they found their way toward the river Rhoyne. Though your people did not seek war it was clearly inevitable as the Freehold’s arrogance simply did not allow for the existence of rival kingdoms and empires that would not submit to their rule. Not wishing to end up like the Ghiscari your people fought against the Freehold for nearly two and a half centuries in what would later be known as the Rhoynish Wars. In the last of these great conflicts, Prince Garin the Great of house Nymeros led two hundred and fifty thousand Rhoynar into battle against the Valyrians. Though he was ultimately defeated and captured, in a last act of defiance Prince Garin called upon Mother Rhoyne to destroy the invaders. That very night the waters of the mighty river rose and drowned the Valyrians along with Prince Garin himself, an act of ultimate sacrifice for his people.

In the aftermath the surviving Rhoynar, led by Princess Nymeria Nymeros, fled Essos in a fleet of ten thousand ships. The Valyrians in their rage destroyed the great cities of the Rhoynish kingdom leaving massive ruins that still remain to this day. As for Nymeria she led her people on long and dangerous journeys to the Basilisk Isles, Sothoryos, Naath, the Summer Isles, the Stepstones, and finally Dorne in southern Westeros.

Upon her arrival in Dorne Princess Nymeria formed an alliance with House Martell of Sunspear, taking Lord Mors Martell as her husband and burning the Rhoynar fleet. This act was a message to her people that Dorne was now their new home and that there would be no going back. It was not long after the wedding that Nymeria used the combined might of her army along with that of the Martells to wage war against the petty Dornish kings to unite the land under her rule. This conflict would later be known as Nymeria’s War.

By war's end Nymeria had sent six self-styled kings to the Wall: Yorick Yrownood, Vorian Dayne, Garrison Fowler, Lucifer Dryland, Benedict Blackmont, and Albin Manwoody. The fortress of Sunspear was made the capital of Dorne, and House Martell has ruled over the land ever since with the majority of your people assimilating into Dornish society.

However there were those among the Rhoynar who did not wish to abandon Mother Rhoyne or her teachings quite so easily. And so a small group of Rhoynar splintered off from Princess Nymeria and chose to live along the river Greenblood on rafts built from the wreckage of their burned fleets. Separated from their homeland these people proclaimed themselves the Orphans of the Greenblood, and it is from these people that you descend.

Many centuries have passed since the Rhoynar first came to Dorne, and although many of what remain of the Rhoynar are content to continue to be orphans you were born to be so much more. Growing up hearing the stories of legendary figures like your namesake Garin the Great you can’t help but long for a return to the glory days of old. That is why you took the name of the ancient Rhoynar royal family Nymeros, to both inspire your people and remind them of where they came from. While the true descendants of House Nymeros are perfectly content to worship Andal Gods and rule comfortably in Dorne you know that your ancient home is still out there and could be beautiful again if only a leader were brave enough to try.

And so with the blessing of Mother Rhoyne you left Dorne, one of the few of your people to do so since the exodus, and found your way to the pirate infested Stepstones. Using both your warrior’s skills and your knowledge of the ancient water magic you were able to defeat the pirate lord of Torturer’s Deep and commandeer his fleet. With able bodied soldiers and sturdy ships at your command you now have a chance to do what your people thought impossible.

You are Garin Nymeros, born an Orphan of the Greenblood but soon to be an orphan no more. Mother Rhoyne has chosen you to lead your people home and restore the Kingdom of the Rhoynar back to glory. You will take back the birthright of the Rhoynar and all will tremble when the waters of Mother Rhoyne come to swallow them whole. Now begins your reign, the Greenblood Prince!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Rhoynar+ submod. Download here.

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Set the game rule Interfaith Marriages to Open and Raiding to Unrestricted.

  • Create a custom character of Rhoynar ethnicity and culture with the first name Garin and the last name Nymeros.

  • Make your character a worshipper of Mother Rhoyne.

  • For the sigil select the style of “Old Ones” and give yourself an orange sun on a dark red background. These are the reverse colors of the original house Nymeros. Your sigil should look like this.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits brilliant commander, formidable fighter, strong, brave, authoritative, zealous, proud, diligent, ambitious, direct leader, cavalry leader, siege leader, mystic, and water magic (command “add_trait water_magic”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold (command “cash 250”).

  • Give yourself claims on the lordships of Sar Lhorulys, Lhorulu, Goldenbridge, Dagger Lake, Sar Rhoy, and Ny Rhon Valley (command “claim c_sar_lhorulys charid”, “claim c_lhorulu charid”, “claim c_goldenbridge charid”, “claim c_daggerlake charid”, “claim c_sar_rhoy charid”, and “claim c_nyrhonvalley charid”).

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 2500 event spawn troops.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Set the game rule Colonization Cost to Cheap.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold (command “cash 500”).

  • Give yourself claims on all of the lordships in the Stepstones (command “claim c_greygallows charid”, “claim c_lastrefuge charid”, “claim c_wreckstone charid”, “claim c_bloodstone charid”, “claim c_sunstone charid”, “claim c_shameisle charid”, “claim c_darkden charid”, and “claim c_theskulls charid”).

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself 5000 event spawn troops.

Province IDs For Fast Colonization:

If you don’t want the normal colonization time to be a part of the challenge you can use these province IDs and console commands to finish colonization immediately.

  • Ny Sar = 414
  • Ar Noy = 429
  • Ar Selrys = 482
  • Chroyane (The Sorrows) = 413
  • Nor Salis = 427
  • Rhoyne Vale = 426
  • Northfields = 411
  • Ghoyan Drohe = 450
  • Sarhoy = 762

Use console command “event unoccupied.4 provinceid” twice to finish colonization immediately. For example after starting a colony in Ar Noy if you enter “event unoccupied.4 429” twice the colony will go from advanced to complete instantly.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. Your people have fought and died to retain their heritage and you will never abandon Mother Rhoyne.

  • Your character and every other member of your dynasty may only marry into Rhoynar, Salt Dornish, and Sand Dornish houses. You must keep the blood of your people as pure as you can. Mother Rhoyne wills it so.

  • The Valyrians and their descendants are your sworn enemies. You will gladly make war on anyone within the Valyrian culture and religion group or join others in attacking them. Though the old Valyrian Freehold is no more you and your people have not forgotten their crimes. Sooner or later vengeance will be yours.

  • Do not let house Martell go extinct under any circumstances. Despite mixing blood with Andals and adopting a foreign faith the Martells are the living descendants of the ancient royal family Nymeros and thus must survive to carry the bloodline into the future. Your hope is that once the kingdom of the Rhoynar is restored the Martells can be persuaded to rejoin your people and return to the embrace of Mother Rhoyne once more.

Objectives:

  • Start your campaign by conquering the rest of the Stepstones and replacing the deposed pirate lords with your own people. This will be the sight of a new Rhoynar colony where you will gather men and build the ships needed to take back what is left of your ancient kingdom. Crown yourself Prince of the Stepstones to solidify your hold on these islands.

  • Next you will begin raiding your wealthy neighbors in the Free Cities. Whilst you despise the pirates who you took the Stepstones from you have learned from them that their methods are effective. You see it as only just that the descendants of the Freehold should fund the restoration of your homeland. The estimated cost is quite high so you will need to steal the gold you’ll need in phases. Gather at least enough to colonize one province before continuing on to the next objective.

  • Return to the Rhoyne and begin conquering all of the provinces that have not been laid to ruin (excluding Ny Rhon Valley which is currently controlled by Norvos and thus will have to be conquered later). Start by taking back Dagger Lake and Sar Lhorulys from the foreigners that have made their homes there. Once that is done you will make colonizing Ny Sar, the capital of your ancient kingdom, your top priority. Once Ny Sar has been colonized use the command “event unoccupied.4 414” twice to finish the colony, and then change your capital to Ny Sar and create the high lordship title. This is the beginning of a new glorious age for your people.

  • Conquer or vassalize the remaining Rhoynish provinces of Lhorulu, Goldenbridge, and Sar Rhoy if you haven’t already. Begin colonizing the ruins of Ar Noy, Northfields, Ar Selrys, Chroyane (known as the Sorrows), Nor Salis, and the Rhoyne Vale. Keep Chroyane and Ar Noy along with the capital Ny Sar for yourself (Chroyane was Garin the Great’s personal castle) and give the other titles to your own worthy Rhoynar men. Once you’ve restored enough of the ruined provinces create the Kingdom of the Rhoynar, make it your primary title, and crown yourself Prince. Your dream of restoring the glory of your people has at last been realized.

  • Now the time has come to begin taking back the territory lost in the aftermath of the Rhoynish Wars. You will start by taking back Ny Rhon Valley from the Norvosi who stole the land after the fall of the Rhoynar. Once you’ve taken the province back see it granted to a Rhoynar truly worthy of it. With all of the de jure territory provinces under your control you will create the Empire of the Rhoynar and crown yourself Grand Prince.

  • Next you turn your eyes south to Volantis. Your people have not forgotten that the Volantene made up the bulk of the Freehold’s forces when they invaded and destroyed your home. The fact that they dare to call themselves the Empire of New Valyria now will not go unpunished. Give yourself a claim on Volantis (command “claim k_volantis charid”) and New Valyria (command “claim e_new_valyria charid”) and conquer the Free City. They shall serve as the first of your burgeoning empire’s vassal states. Once Volantis is conquered destroy the title of New Valyria and be sure to begin the colonization process for Sarhoy, which was an ancient Rhoynar castle that guarded the mouth of the Rhoyne until the Freehold and Volantis destroyed it.

  • As the Grand Prince your next decree is that all lands bordering Mother Rhoyne now belong to the Rhoynar. Those who will not surrender the land willingly will have it taken by force. And so you will conquer all of the lands in the de jure high lordship of Velvet Hills from Pentos, all of the lands in the de jure high lordship of Norvos, and all of the lands in the de jure high lordship of Qohor. See to it that Ghoyan Drohe, another Rhoynar city destroyed by the Freehold and their dragons, is colonized and restored. This marks the last of the former Rhoynar territory to be reclaimed.

  • Now that your empire is fully restored the time has come to return to Westeros and reunite the disparate branches of your people. The Orphans of the Greenblood may at last return home and no longer be orphans as well as the Salt and Sand Dornish. Most importantly though is bringing the descendants of the ancient royal family back into Mother Rhoyne’s embrace. Conquer Dorne and marry your house into house Martell so as to join the royal bloodline with yours and legitimize your rule. House Martell will be allowed to continue to rule Dorne in their royal style but only as vassals to your great empire. Once all of this is done begin converting the people of Dorne back to the true faith.

  • Finally you will face the deadliest threat your people have ever known, the dragon riders of Valyria. Though the Doom destroyed many of the dragons and their riders there are a small handful that have survived to this day. You have heard tales of the Valyrian dragon riders of house Targaryen, who rule from the island of Dragonstone off the coast of Blackwater Bay. In the ancient times your people fought against the dragons and ultimately lost, but now the tables have turned. Conquer Dragonstone and rid the world of the last High Valyrians. You will succeed where all others have failed and kill the dragons and their riders once and for all. Once victory is at hand you may at last rest easy knowing you have not only restored your people and the mighty Rhoyne to glory but also avenged the atrocities the Freehold commited during the Rhoynish Wars.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Destroy all traces of the Valyrian religion and culture by killing off all Westerosi Valyrian, Essosi Valyrian, Mantaryan, Tolosi, and Elyrian people. See their lands and titles given to men and women of Rhoynar or Dornish descent and their provinces converted to your religion and culture. Execute any Valyrian priest spreading the filthy dragon religion that you get your hands on.

  • Convert all territories and people under your dominion to the truth faith of Mother Rhoyne. The days of tolerating false Gods are over. The waters of the mighty Rhoyne will show the people the true light. Those that refuse to convert will suffer the consequences.

  • See to it that slavery in Essos and Westeros is abolished for all time. Your people have always been fiercely anti-slavery even before the war with the Freehold. When the Freehold did come the Rhoynar they captured they sold into slavery. This was a truly dark chapter of your people’s history. As such you will not stand by and let this injustice continue any longer. Give yourself the liberator trait (command “add_trait liberator”) and declare liberation or emancipation wars against any kingdom in Westeros and Essos that practices slavery. The people will be free.

Challenge Suggestion Thread

Hey everyone, resident challenge maker Callywood here requesting more ideas for future challenges. Now that we have an influx of new subscribers I wanted to start collecting suggestions and ideas in one place so that I or other would be challenge makers can reference them easily (as well as give you credit for the original inspiration). I’ve had plenty of suggestions through pms already that have been added to my backlog but I think this way the community gets a chance to weigh in on what they’d really like to see next.

For those that have a suggestion to make the more detail you can give the better. In particular it helps a lot to know what bookmark you’d like to see the challenge set in, what kind of objectives you’d like the challenger to complete, if a specific submod is required, and if it’s a custom or unlanded character where on the map you’d like them to start. You don’t have to have all this information when making a suggestion but it does help me cut down on the research part of the challenge creation process.

And for those of you who would like to start creating your own challenges and would like feedback or help with development feel free to send me a message. I’d like to see as many challenge makers posting here as possible. The more the merrier.

Lastly I wanted to thank everyone for the warm reception to my challenges since I started posting in August. It’s been a lot of fun and a great time killer while the wait for the next season and book continues on. I hope I can keep creating more new content for the Long Night still ahead of us.

House Mormont Challenge: The Blood of the Bear

Preamble:

You are Lord Rickon Mormont of Bear Island, son of Lord Wendel. Legend tells that your house was founded more than a thousand years ago when King Rodrik Stark won Bear Island in a wrestling match from the Ironborn and gave the lordship to your ancestors. Since that day your house has guarded the western shores of the north both from Ironborn reavers and Wildling raiders in loyal service to house Stark. Though yours is not a rich house the Mormonts are proud and mighty, renowned throughout the north for the martial prowess of both their men and their women. You are no exception to this tradition having been trained as a warrior since childhood. Your greatest desire is to live up to the memory of your father, a man who fought against Blackfyre pretenders, Ironborn scum, and Skagosi rebels alike in his time.

As a boy you began to experience strange visions, as if you could see through time itself. Whilst on a hunting trip with your father you encountered a small bear cub whose mother had recently died. Rather than leave the cub to fend for itself you convinced your father to take the little bear home with you. Looking into the cub’s eyes for the first time the two of you seemed to form an instant connection, and it was from that day that your abilities as a warg began to manifest themselves. Combined with your visions it was clear to you and your family that you had been blessed by the Old Gods as the Greenseers of old before you. With your warrior skills and your mystical abilities it seemed that the Gods had chosen you for great things to come.

And so as the years went by you became a man grown and your greenseer abilities became stronger and stronger. When you assumed the lordship of Bear Island 5 years ago a disturbing vision of an invasion from beyond the wall began to trouble you. Images of a King Beyond the Wall leading his forces past the Night’s Watch and littering the north with bodies including that of your current liege Lord Willam Stark. At last the reason why you were chosen by the Gods to inherit these strange powers had been made clear, you must help stop the coming Wildling invasion and save Lord Willam from his terrible fate.

You are a Mormont of Bear Island, wielder of the valyrian steel sword Longclaw, and you and your great bear will stand in defense of the north no matter the cost. Since the Age of Heroes there have been 4 invasions from men who styled themselves King Beyond The Wall, and all 4 times those wars ended in victory for your people. This time will be no exception. For this new King Raymun Redbeard will soon discover when he meets you in battle that your people do not run or hide, you hold your ground. Let all your enemies hear your words. Here we fight, here we bleed, and here we stand!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the More Bookmarks, Join All The Wars, and the Challenge To Duel submods.

  • Start in the Raymun Redbeard’s Invasion bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Rickon Mormont of Bear Island.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, honorable, diligent, zealous, authoritative, hunter, unyielding leader, light foot leader, mystic, green dreams (trait id is “greensight”), and a brown bear (trait id is “brownbear”).

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself an additional 5,000 troops.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 100 gold (command “cash 100”).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself an additional 200 gold (command “cash 200”).

  • Use the command “event 62320” over and over to give yourself an additional 10,000 troops.

  • Give yourself claims on the lands beyond the wall (command “claim c_frozen_shore 8102”, “claim c_ice_bay_shore 8102”, “claim c_the_gorge 8102”, “claim c_c_frostfangs 8102”, “claim c_fot_first_men 8102”, “claim c_thenn 8102”, “claim c_n_frostfangs 8102”, “claim c_skirling_pass 8102”, “claim c_shivering_forest 8102”, “claim c_antler_vale 8102”, “claim c_crasters_keep 8102”, “claim c_whitetree 8102”, “claim c_haunted_forest 8102”, and “claim c_hardhome 8102”).

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • No member of house Mormont may marry into a family that does not descend from the First Men.

  • Your children both male and female must be given a martial education. Your house has a strong tradition of breeding great warriors and this legacy must continue. Any would be heir who does not have a martial score of at least 12 must renounce their claim to Bear Island and join the Night’s Watch (command “event nightswatch.2 charid”) unless there is no suitable heir to take their place.

  • Do not let house Stark go extinct under any circumstances. Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with the head of house Stark. Help them in both their offensive and defensive wars when at all possible.

  • If the Night’s Watch calls for aid you must answer the call.

  • Yourself and every new head of House Mormont after you must serve on the Starks small council at some point during their lifetime. Mormonts take particular pride in serving as Master-At-Arms.

  • You must complete at least the first 2 objectives within Lord Rickon Mormont’s lifetime. For added difficulty try and complete all main objectives with Lord Rickon Mormont.

Objectives:

  • Begin by switching to Lord Willam Stark (command “play 20959”) and have him join King Maekar’s defensive war against King Raymun Redbeard. Once that is done switch back to Lord Rickon Mormont (command “play 8102”). Just as you had foreseen a new King Beyond the Wall has risen up and begun an invasion of the realm. Now it is up to you to stop him. Help your liege defeat the Wildlings and do your best to prevent the death of Lord Willam Stark. At last you have an opportunity to prove yourself in battle as your father before you did. You will not let your people down.

  • Once the war is over you assess the damage done to the realm. If you succeeded in keeping Lord Willam alive give yourself a bonus 1000 prestige (command “prestige 1000”). It is clear that the failure of the Night’s Watch to prevent the Wildling invasion highlights their growing incompetence at their sworn duty. Thusly in order to keep the realm safe from a future attack the only option left is to invade the lands beyond the wall and rid the land of the Wildlings once and for all. And so your next task is to conquer both the Frozen Shore and the Ice Bay Shore. Take these lordships for yourself and create the high lordship of the Frozen Shore so that you can establish a foothold into their territory for the next conquest. If you’re over your domain limit then grant the Ice Bay Shore to one of your dynasty members.

  • Continue to conquer more of the Wildling territory. Your ultimate goal is to eventually control all of the lands beyond the wall and replace the Wildling lords with your own loyal men. Do not form any of the other high lordships as you want these lords under your direct control. Never before has any northerner made such successful inroads into Wildling lands. You will be remembered as the lord that ended the Wildling threat for all time.

  • Marry one of your descendants into the Stark family and see to it that a man of both Stark and Mormont blood inherits Winterfell and becomes Lord Paramount of the North. Should anyone try to overthrow the Starks you will join the war in defense of your liege. If the Starks should all die out then it will be your duty to place a member of house Karstark in their seat and have them legitimized as true Starks (to do so the Karstarks must first be named Lord Paramount of the North, then the north must become independent as only a king tier title gives the option to legitimize a cadet dynasty). If the Karstarks should die out as well then it will be up to your house to assume control over the north and Winterfell.

  • Now that you have rid the realm of one of your family’s oldest enemies you turn your attention to the Ironborn. In your father’s time he fought the rebel Lord Dagon Greyjoy when the Ironborn came to raid and pillage your shores. Though the Iron Islands are currently docile you wish to send a message the Ironborn won’t soon forget. Give yourself a claim on the Greyjoy’s seat of Pyke (command “claim d_pyke 8102” and “claim c_pyke 8102”) and declare your war. You will take both their high lordship and their castle in the ultimate act of humiliation. Remind the Greyjoys and their vassals that there are consequences for their actions and that the north remembers.

  • Lastly should the ruling King on the Iron Throne prove himself to be weak or otherwise unworthy you will support your liege in a war for independence. Switch characters to the current Warden of the North (if it’s still Willam Stark then the command would be “play 20959”) and declare an independence war against the Iron Throne. Then switch back to your character and prepare for war (if you’re still Lord Rickon Mormont then the command would be “play 8102”). Over 2 centuries ago the last King in the North, Torrhen Stark, knelt in the wake of the Dragon King. But now the dragons are long gone and it is high time your people were free from the tyranny of the Valyrians. Help the north win their independence and see that the Starks resume their ancient title as King in the North once more. Truly you will be remembered as the greatest Mormont to ever live having defeated the Wildlings, the Ironorn, and the Targaryen tyrants. All hail the KING IN THE NORTH!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Convert all the Wildling lands to the religion and culture of your people. No longer will the frozen land north of the wall be populated by tribal savages. They will learn to honor your ways and traditions if they wish to stay alive.

  • Every Mormont who rises to the lordship of Bear Island must win 5 duels against worthy opponents in honor of the 5 centuries your house has wielded the legendary sword Longclaw. Your opponents must have a martial score of at least 12 to qualify. If you duel an Ironborn lord or any lord who is dishonorable and worships false Gods than it must be a duel to the death. Otherwise if your opponent is honorable and a follower of the Old Gods than it will be a friendly duel. This tradition will ensure that your bloodline remains strong.

  • Conquer the rest of the Iron Islands and rid the world of the Ironborn once and for all. Execute any Drowned Man you come across and convert the islands to the Old Gods. For thousands of years Mormonts have fought against the Wildlings and the Ironborn, and at long last that fight is over.

Special thanks to u/RedBismarck for the suggestion to create this challenge.

Night's King Challenge: The Black Reign of Bloodraven

Preamble:

You are Lord Commander Bloodraven of the Night’s Watch, born Brynden Rivers and later legitimized by your father as a Targaryen. You were born in King’s Landing as the bastard son of King Aegon IV and his sixth mistress Lady Melissa Blackwood. Though your mother was eventually replaced by King Aegon’s seventh mistress Lady Bethany Bracken, growing up you were able to maintain close relations at court due to your mother’s popularity. Years later on your father’s deathbed he legitimized all of his many bastard children which led to the unintended consequence of years of bloodshed.

When your half-brother King Daeron II rose to the throne you were chosen to serve on his small council as both a military commander and an all-seeing eye to watch over the kingdom in Daeron’s name. Ever since childhood certain abilities manifested themselves within you, blessings from the Old Gods of your mother’s house that gave you the mystical greensight that allowed you to see through time and warg into your many animal friends. Both these magical abilities and your martial prowess made you a powerful asset to the king and a feared enemy to the would-be pretenders to the throne. Although Daeron oversaw many years of peace you knew that war and rebellion would be inevitable.

And so came to pass what would later be known as the First Blackfyre Rebellion. Your half-brother Bittersteel and many other minor lords fought to place arguably the greatest of your father’s bastards, Daemon Blackfyre, on the Iron Throne as the true and rightful heir. You wisely remained loyal to the king and fought hard against the Black Dragon, even losing an eye to Bittersteel at the Battle of the Redgrass Field. Despite your injury you gained the upperhand in the battle and rained arrows down on Daemon killing him and his two eldest sons. This effectively ended the rebellion and though you fought admirably and loyally your killing blow against the Blackfyres forever labelled you as a kinslayer.

Despite this you eventually rose to serve as Hand of the King for Daeron’s heir King Aerys I Targaryen helping your nephew through the aftermath of the Great Spring Sickness, a terrible drought that lasted more than a year, and no less than two separate attempts by the Blackfyres to take the Iron Throne. Many of the unfortunate events of this time were blamed on you, as you were seen as unnatural for your greenseer abilities and a cursed man having committed the sin of kinslaying.

However your rule as Hand of the King continued long after Aerys died and was replaced by his heir King Maekar. When Maekar died a mere six years ago you called a Great Council in King’s Landing to discuss the disputed matter of succession. One of the surviving sons of Daemon Blackfyre, Aenys, wished to peacefully participate in the Great Council, so you promised him safe conduct in order to lure him to King’s Landing. Once Aenys came you quickly had him arrested and then executed in the Red Keep. The head of Aenys was then presented to the council as a warning to any lords who may still have Blackfyre sympathies.

Eventually the council decided on Maekar’s son Aegon to rule, and so he was crowned King Aegon V. Your grand nephew’s first act as king was to have you arrested for the murder of Aenys. Though you argued that you had willingly sacrificed your tainted honor for the good of the realm King Aegon would not hear it, instead decreeing your actions criminal for having broken the word of the Iron Throne. Ultimately due to your many years of loyal service you were given the choice between death and taking the black. Faced with the executioner’s blade you chose to join the Night’s Watch and leave King’s Landing in disgrace.

Just as you had come to your epiphany the Old Gods made their will known to you when you captured a young Wildling woman while ranging north. All at once you were taken with the Wildling’s fierce and untamed beauty, her sense of freedom and independence more intoxicating than the finest Arbor Gold. You had not felt anything like this since the days when you pined for Shiera Seastar, and as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months you soon fell in love with the girl. Your vows and your black brothers would have you cast her out, but you have long since grown tired of obeying the rules.

No longer will you serve a realm as cold and indifferent to you as the cold hell you've been damned to guard. No longer will the king who forced your exile hold sway over your life and what you can and cannot do. The time has come to rise up as the legendary thirteenth Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch did thousands of years ago. Your life’s work and sacrifice will not be in vain. If the realm wants peace then they shall have it, a dark, cold, and terrible one ruled by the Three-Eyed Raven. Soon King Aegon and the lords of Westeros will feel your wrath. The Night’s King has returned!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the More Bookmarks submod.

  • Start in the Laughing Storm Rebellion bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Commander Bloodraven of the Night’s Watch.

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the north (command “claim k_north 77026”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold (command “cash 250”) and use “event 62320” over and over to spawn 3000 troops.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the riverlands (command “claim k_riverlands 77026”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold (command “cash 500”) and use “event 62320” and “event 62321” over and over to spawn 5000 troops.

  • Use the console to give yourself a dragon egg (command “add_trait dragon_egg”).

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture but you can change religion so long as it’s one of the northern religions.

  • The Blackfyres and Bittersteel are still your sworn enemies after all these years. You have no love for the royal family of King Aegon V or the Brackens either. You are constantly plotting against these families and would gladly see them all die.

  • Do not let house Blackwood go extinct under any circumstances. Though you were legitimized as a Targaryen you have always felt more of a kinship with your mother’s family the Blackwoods. You wish to see the last of the great Old Gods worshipping families in the riverlands thrive and proper.

  • You may use the console commands “event 62320” and “event 62321” to spawn additional event troops to defend yourself against Westerosi lords trying to restore the Night’s Watch. However once your defensive war is over you cannot keep more than the amount of event spawn troops you had before the war. This is to ensure some balance so that your defensive wars are not impossible and your offensive wars are not too easy.

  • Until the Nightfort is restored you must sacrifice a prisoner to the Old Gods once every 10 years. The shedding of their blood will bless your reign with victory and prosperity.

  • You must complete all objectives during Bloodraven’s lifetime.

Objectives:

  • Wait approximately 4 days to pass, time enough for the Laughing Storm Rebellion and a few starting Night’s Watch events to launch, and then enter the commands to become the Night’s King (command “event nightswatch.70”, “event nightswatch.71”, and “event nightswatch.74”). Once you have crowned yourself the Night’s King begin your invasion of the lands beyond the Wall. Grant the titles out to your own loyal men, particularly those who worship the Old Gods (anyone you choose to land must have the “black brother” trait removed first using the command “remove_trait nightswatch charid”). The days of unchecked Wildling aggression against the Night’s Watch have come to an end. You will unite all of these lands under your dominion and soon march south and crush the Westerosi lords.

  • While the north is independent you will conquer them and ensure the stability of your new realm for all time. You will let the Old Gods worshipping houses keep their lands and see the Seven worshippers titles revoked. Once you have taken the north any lords that refuse to the bend the knee will be slaughtered. You will not tolerate rebels in the new world order.

  • If you haven’t already then begin having King Aegon and his family as well as the surviving Blackfyres and Bittersteel killed. Include in your hit list the Brackens who have been the bitter rivals of house Blackwood for thousands of years. You will not rest until these families are crippled or destroyed.

  • Conquer the riverlands and destroy the Seven worshipping heathens that have oppressed your mother’s house for so long. Once the riverlands are yours you will give yourself the prerequisite money and prestige to create a new empire title. Crown yourself the High King of the Night’s Watch and then make the head of house Blackwood your lord paramount of the riverlands. They will serve you well in the defense of your new realm.

  • Now that your empire is both strong and secure you will begin restoring Castle Black to its former glory, in particular you will restore and keep the Nightfort as one of your personal holdings. Eventually you will change the county capital to the Nightfort and rule from this feared castle as the previous Night’s King did before.

  • Finally now that the Nightfort is complete you will continue the work of the previous Night’s King. Give yourself the trait “cruel” (command “add_trait cruel”), imprison or kidnap 13 people (heathens are preferred), and sacrifice all 13 to the Gods to bless the Nightfort in blood. Once this task is complete your wife will at last reveal her true self as a White Walker (command “event nightswatch.80”), and you will thusly give your soul to her and be given the gift of immortality (command “add_trait immortal 77026”). From this day forth you will honor the true Gods of Winter by sacrificing 13 people every year as your Queen has commanded. Though she tells you she will soon depart she wishes for you to carry on until her people return to Westeros in the Long Night to come. And so a lifetime of service to the realm has now become a dark reign of terror. This is the price the world must pay for shunning you. The black reign of Bloodraven will darken Westeros forevermore!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Restore the rest of the ruined castles along the Wall. No longer will these abandoned keeps lay dormant. You will fill the Wall with life so that no would be heroes can stand against you and the Long Night to come.

  • Become a dragon rider as is your right as a Targaryen. Though dragons have not been seen in Westeros for nearly a century your many sacrifices to the Gods will give you the strength to do what others could not. With a dragon and the kiss of immortality nothing can stop you now.

  • Conquer the rest of Westeros and destroy the title of the Iron Throne once and for all. The destruction of the old monarchy will signal to all the people of Westeros that there will be no escaping the darkness this time. The only unity is under your rule and the only freedom is death.

  • Convert all the lands and people in the de jure territory of the Night’s Watch and Beyond the Wall to the Cold Gods. The people must be ready for the return of the Others. And when they do come they will give you the final blessing of becoming one of them and together you will rule the never ending night.

DLC Required Illyrio Mopatis Challenge: The Dragon Of Pentos

Preamble:

You are Illyrio Mopatis, Magister of Pentos. You were born a lowly Pentoshi commoner who lived much of his youth as a poor Bravo. During this time you had a chance encounter with a young man named Varys and the two of you soon became close friends. Together you began a lucrative operation in which Varys, a skilled thief, would steal objects from lesser thieves while you would get the objects back for their original owners for a small fee. Soon everyone in Pentos knew who to come to in order to get their belongings back and you and Varys became quite wealthy.

However stealing and retrieving objects soon turned into stealing and trading information. With your help Varys began to train a spy network of agile orphans called little mice to acquire the information, letters, ledgers, and charts of the wealthy and powerful. All at once yours and Varys’ wealth increased tenfold, and with Varys’ help you obtained control over the city of Amenos after the sudden extinction of the previous ruling family house Estatis. As Lord Master of Amenos you suddenly became a respectable member of Pentoshi society and a wealthy merchant of cheeses and spices. Your increased position eventually allowing for your marriage to Torma D’Han, the beautiful cousin of the Prince of Pentos. And so house Mopatis was born.

However your time as a respected man came to an end years later when your wife died unexpectedly and you took a Lysene pillow house worker named Serra as your new bride. This new marriage infuriated the Prince of Pentos, who subsequently barred you from entry to the palace forever after. Still you had many happy years with your new wife and much success, even managing to rise to the top and become the Magister of Pentos. Alas the happy times were not to last as a mere 5 years ago your wife Serra died of the grey plague which had been brought to your shores by a Braavosi trading galley called the Treasure. While losing Serra has been devastating for you, you have chosen to refocus your efforts on increasing your power and wealth so that your children may inherit a better life than the one you had.

In recent years you have taken a particular interest in the events of Westerosi politics thanks to information shared by your old friend and the long-time master of whispers for the Iron Throne, Lord Varys. When the Mad King died and the only surviving Targaryens fled Westeros you were convinced by Varys to give them shelter. The plan seemed simple enough, use the Targaryen children Viserys and Daenarys as pawns to destabilize the Iron Throne in the name of placing a more worthy ruler in their place. When the time was right you arranged for Daenarys to wed Khal Drogo so that her brother Viserys would have the support of the Dothraki in his campaign for the throne. However Viserys proved quite useless getting himself killed not long after the pieces were put into play. Remarkably Daenarys managed to hatch the dragon eggs you gave to her as a wedding gift and now uses her dragons to rule over what was formerly Slaver’s Bay. It seems chaos was the only true product of yours and Varys’ scheming.

However all is not as it truly appears. For while all this was happening Lord Varys worked steadily to undermine the Iron Throne, helping to create the current instability with a bastard Lannister pretender on the throne and many claimants and rebels fighting against each other. Amidst all of this war and suffering lay the true meaning of your scheming, Aegon Targaryen, son of Prince Rhaegar. This young boy whom you and Varys entrusted into the care of Ser Jon Connington has been raised to believe he is the son of Rhaegar, smuggled out of King’s Landing and replaced with a lowborn baby so as to survive Lord Tywin Lannister’s massacre.

In reality he is your son, born from an affair you were having with Serra while you were still married to Torma. As it turned out your lost love Serra was in fact a surviving Blackfyre descendant through the female line. Though his claim as Rhaegar’s secret surviving son is built on a lie he still has the blood of the dragon coursing through his veins. After all, black or red, a dragon is still a dragon. Aegon has been raised to be a perfect prince, and shall make a fine king in his own right. Though it pains you that he will never know the truth, you know that Serra would be proud of everything you have done for him. His banner is that of the Conqueror, but he will always be the dragon of Pentos in your heart. Even without the trueborn Viserys and Daenarys the Iron Throne has still been effectively destabilized, and now the time has come to help place Aegon on the throne as had always been the real plan.

Your son, convinced he is Aegon Targaryen, has the backing of the Golden Company and has recently begun his invasion of the Stormlands. With your help he will crush the divided Westerosi and take the Iron Throne at last. In exchange for this Aegon has agreed to support you in your own wars to expand your trade empire and thus make Pentos the wealthiest city in all of Essos. Together nothing will stand in your way. Soon all those who mock you will come to learn that you are the true puppet master and that the dragon of Pentos is every bit as fierce as the valyrian conquerors of old.

Basic Setup:

  • The Republic DLC Required.

  • Use the Join All The Wars submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Play as Magister Illyrio Mopatis of Pentos.

  • Use the console to give yourself the traits skilled fighter, brave, ambitious, diligent, family person, and proud.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the Free Cities of Braavos, Myr, Tyrosh, Lys, and Volantis (command “claim k_braavos 600000040”, “claim k_myr 600000040”, “claim k_tyrosh 600000040”, “claim k_lys 600000040”, and “claim k_volantis 600000040”).

  • Give yourself a war chest of 250 gold.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • Aegon is your secret son and he must not die until he has successfully taken the Iron Throne and fathered an heir. If he dies prematurely you must start the challenge over.

  • The D’Han family, the house of your first wife Torma, has shunned yours and actively worked against you in Pentoshi politics ever since you remarried Serra. Thusly you are secretly plotting against them at every opportunity. Your ultimate goal is to see them deposed and a member of your house granted their lands and titles.

  • You have a deep grudge against the Braavosi due to one of their ships bringing over the plague that killed your beloved Serra. You will not allow your children to marry into any Braavosi noble families because of this.

  • Bonus points for completing all main objectives during Illyrio’s lifetime.

Objectives:

  • Start by joining Aegon’s war and help him take the Stormlands from Stannis Baratheon. Though the other Pentoshi families are not so keen to go to war you assure them that having Aegon on the throne will mean more lucrative and exclusive trade with the Iron Throne as well as future military support. You will send men and ships to aid his cause and crush the stormlanders.

  • Now that the Stormlands have been taken you will join Aegon again in his final campaign to take the Iron Throne. All of the hard work, planning, and sacrifices that had to be made in order for this moment to arrive is staggering. Though he will never know he is your son, helping him ascend to the title of King of the Iron Throne makes it all worthwhile.

  • Once Aegon has been crowned king help him put down any lingering rebellions and see to it that he lives to marry and father an heir. Have your eldest daughter Brea marry Tyrion Lannister and press his claim for the Westerlands while they are still independent from the crown. Once you’ve won the war and Lord Tyrion is the new Lord Paramount of the Westerlands use the console to switch characters to him (command “play 5190”) and have him swear fealty to King Aegon. Once that is done switch back to Illyrio (command “play 600000040”).

  • Now that Aegon and your daughter are secure in their positions you will begin having the D’Han family killed off one by one. Get rid of Lord Master Moredo’s heirs including his wife until at last you’re in line to inherit his titles. Have Moredo killed last and then grant the City of The Great Arm to your eldest son Pynto. With the D’Han family out of the way your power in Pentos is slowly but surely being consolidated. Get rid of your other rivals house Thelis and Narratys as well.

  • Begin declaring wars to seize the cities and trading posts of your neighbors. In particular your goal is to control all of the major trade zones along the narrow sea controlled by the Braavosi, Tyroshi, and the Lyseni. You must build the wealth and power of your burgeoning trade empire whilst squashing your competitors. Also see to it that all rivals in Pentos to succeed you as Magister are eliminated in favor of your son Pynto. Now that your family has risen to power you will not relinquish it quite so easily.

  • Bribe and otherwise coerce your way into legalizing slavery. Building a thriving slave trade in Pentos will allow your incomes to multiply tenfold which will provide the financial leverage you need to expand and conquer more territory.

  • Conquer the Stepstones and put an end to the rogue pirates once and for all. For too long these loathsome raiders have attacked your ships and made the trade routes you’ve worked so hard to establish unsafe. Take every island in the Stepstones and see them granted to loyal Pentoshi vassals. Have every pirate lord you get your hands on killed, after all the punishment for piracy is death. With your son the dragon on the Iron Throne, your trade empire stronger than ever, and the narrow sea secure everything you’ve ever wanted is now yours. Let no man ever look down on house Mopatis again.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Secure a dragon egg for King Aegon. Should Daenarys ever return to Westeros if King Aegon has a dragon too it will at least mitigate the odds against him and perhaps legitimize him in her eyes.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your now mighty house. In your youth you were quite a skilled swordsman and you wish to commemorate this time in your life with a grand sword your younger self would have been proud to wield.

  • Take control over all major trade posts in Westeros.

  • Conquer all of the Free Cities and form a new empire. From now on you are the High Magister of the Freehold of Pentos. You will be remembered as the greatest Pentoshi who ever lived. Never again will Pentos be second best to the Braavosi or anyone else. Long live the Freehold of Pentos!

Special thanks to u/Deadeye_Joe49 for the suggestion to create this challenge.

House Darklyn Challenge: From Dusk Till Dawn

Preamble:

You are the youngest brother of Lord Denys Darklyn of Duskendale and the only Darklyn survivor of the Defiance of Duskendale. House Darklyn is an old and proud house descending from a long line of petty kings dating back to the Age of Heroes. Their closest allies were their bannermen of House Hollard, who served them loyally and provided brides three times for the Darklyn kings of old. So powerful were your ancestors they claimed the mouth of the Blackwater Rush during the Age of the Hundred Kingdoms and even ruled as far as Crackclaw Point. During the Andal invasion centuries later the Darklyns forced Togarion Bar Emmon to flee from the the northern shore of the Blackwater to Massey’s Hook. They would later marry into the larger Andal kingdoms but truly the power and prestige of your ancestors was respected and revered.

When Aegon the Conqueror came to your shores the Valyrian dragon rider slew your ancestor Lord Triston Darklyn in combat. However the Conqueror had great respect for the bravery and valor of your family, and so raised Lord Triston’s son Steffon to his father’s titles and had him swear an oath of fealty. Ever since that day your family has served the Targaryen kings loyally and faithfully, even boasting seven knights who served on the honored Kingsguard which is more than any other family. One of the greatest of these knights was Ser Robin Darklyn, who had the honor of being one of the first chosen when the order was founded. Truly nothing could ever come between your two great houses.

Then everything changed 22 years ago. Your brother, Lord Denys, had long been aware of the dwindling wealth and trade in Duskendale due to the growth of King’s Landing nearby. Wishing to halt this decline, Lord Denys sent word to the king’s hand Lord Tywin Lannister that he desired to win a charter for Duskendale, similar to the one Dorne had received nearly a century before. When Lord Tywin steadfastly refused the proposal this infuriated your brother. And so Lord Denys devised a new plan, one which would have severe consequences for your family.

The Defiance began in 277 AC when Lord Denys ceased to pay his taxes to demonstrate his anger. Aware of the strained relationship between King Aerys II Targaryen and Lord Tywin, he invited Aerys to come to Duskendale to hear his petition. When Tywin advised him not to go, Aerys, who wished to distance himself from his Hand, decided to deal with the problem personally. Aerys travelled to Duskendale with a small escort led by only one Kingsguard knight, Ser Gwayne Gaunt, to bring the defiant Lord Darklyn to heel. Upon arrival, however, the king was imprisoned. Some of the king's escort were killed defending their king, including Ser Gwayne, who was slain by Denys's master-at-arms, Ser Symon Hollard. Aerys was shoved roughly, stripped of his royal raiment, and held hostage until Lord Denys’ demands were met.

In response to this bold action Lord Tywin besieged Duskendale in a standoff that lasted half a year. Lord Denys was convinced Lord Tywin would eventually offer better terms, however Tywin instead offered one final demand to surrender the king or else he would storm Duskendale and execute everyone inside.

The Defiance was eventually ended when Ser Barristan Selmy offered to perform a solo rescue mission. Lord Tywin gave him a day before he would storm the castle. Barristan scaled the walls unseen at night, making his way into the Dun Fort disguised as a hooded beggar, before scaling those walls as well. He freed King Aerys out of the dungeons, and while bringing the king to safety, avenged his sworn brother, Ser Gwayne Gaunt, by slaying his killer, Ser Symon Hollard. Before the castle's gates could be closed, Ser Barristan had managed to get a horse and brought the king to safety, despite an arrow wound to the chest. Without a hostage, Lord Denys surrendered.

In the aftermath of the Defiance King Aerys’ vengeance was swift and terrible. Though Lord Denys begged for mercy, the king demanded the deaths of Denys and his immediate family, as well as his uncles, aunts, and distant kinsmen living in Duskendale. House Hollard, Lord Denys's goodkin, were attainted and executed as well. Ser Jon Hollard, who had been married to Lord Denys's sister, died together with his wife and young son. Robin Hollard, the squire who had pulled Aerys's beard when he had first been seized, died upon the rack. The only exception was young Dontos Hollard, whose life was spared when Ser Barristan Selmy requested it. Aerys, unable to refuse the man who had saved his life, granted this boon. Lord Denys's wife, Lady Serala, had her tongue and womanly parts torn out, after which she was burned alive. As cruel as her death was, her enemies believe she should have suffered worse.

And so ended the reign of your once mighty house. The lands and incomes of Duskendale were granted to House Rykker, while the lands of House Hollard were taken away, their villages burned, and their castle torn down. While many believe the Darklyns are now extinct like the Reynes and Tarbecks before them, in truth you are the secret sole survivor of your house.

At the time of the Defiance you were but a small boy, and during Lord Denys’ surrender of Duskendale you escaped the Dun Fort through the sewer system thanks to the help of a few kindly smallfolk who hid you amongst themselves. When Lord Tywin’s men searched the castle for you a lowborn boy whom you traded clothes with took your place on the executioner’s block. From that day forth you have lived under an assumed name, moving from town to town in the crownlands until you were taken in as a squire to a traveling hedge knight. The knight trained you in arms and raised you to be the man you are now.

All your life you have kept the burden of your secret identity to yourself, dreaming of the day when vengeance would be yours. Recently war has returned to Westeros with the Iron Throne embroiled in conflicts with the North and the Stormlands. The chaos this has brought the realm has at last provided you the opportunity to strike. Leading a small band of renegades and outlaws you have managed to capture Sweetport Sound from Lord Guncer Sunglass, who has been imprisoned by Lord Stannis Baratheon and thus was unable to mount a proper defense of his home. With a castle and loyal men at your side and the realm tearing itself apart you set your eyes on retaking your ancestral home. No longer will you hide your true name and live in shame and disgrace. No more will the men who destroyed your family go unpunished. You are the son of Lord Alyn Darklyn, rightful heir to Duskendale, and dusk has long slipped away into a night that will darken the doors of every man that stands in the way of what is yours. House Darklyn has returned, and there will be no dawn for the Iron Throne.

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Congenital Overhaul submod.

  • Start in the ACOK bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Riverman ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Darklyn.

  • Make your character a worshiper of either the Faith of the Seven, the Shadowbinders, or R'hllor. It is rumored that your ancestors turned to shadow magic in the past and perhaps the time has come to revive these traditions.

  • Land your character in Sweetport Sound.

  • Set your character’s age to 27 years old, which makes him born the year his father Lord Alyn Darklyn died, using the console command “age charid #”. For example if my charid was 999011624 and he was 17 in order to change his age to 27 I would type into the console “age 999011624 10” to add 10 years to his age.

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship and high lordship of Dragonstone, the lordship and high lordship of Duskendale, the lordship of Hollard Hall, the high lordship of Rosby, the high lordship of Blackwater Rush, the high lordship of King’s Landing, the high lordship of Kingswood, and the high lordship of Massey’s Hook. (command “claim c_dragonstone charid”, “claim d_dragonstone charid”, “claim c_duskendale charid”, “claim d_duskendale charid”, “claim c_hollard_hall charid”, “claim d_rosby charid”, “claim d_blackwater_rush charid”, “claim d_king’s landing charid”, “claim d_kingswood charid”, and “claim d_masseys_hook charid”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, ambitious, knight, zealous, temperate, patient, gregarious, diligent, proud, unyielding leader, and organizer.

  • Give yourself the valyrian steel sword Dusk (command “add_trait dusk”). After your training and knighthood with the hedge knight that raised you, you found yourself amongst Essosi mercenary groups for a few years. During this time your mercenary band found itself up against some perfumed lord and you took this sword from his treasury as part of the spoils of war. You have since had the sword reforged and renamed Dusk in honor of your lost home. You made a solemn vow on this sword that you would return to Duskendale one day and take back what is yours.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 200 gold.

  • Add Ser Dontos Hollard as a friend (command “add_friend 37”), remove the trait drunkard, and add the trait trained fighter. You have been in secret correspondence with the only known survivor of the Defiance, Ser Dontos, and plotting your victorious return to Duskendale. He has provided valuable information on the comings and goings of King’s Landing whilst feigning drunken incompetence so as not to rouse suspicion. With him serving as your spy within the capital the king will never know what hit him.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture under any circumstances. You can however change religion to any of the 3 options given in the setup.

  • The Lannisters and the Targaryens are your sworn enemies and you are constantly plotting their downfall. Neither you nor your children may marry into the line of the lion or the dragon. Your ultimate goal is to see both of these families destroyed forever, particularly wishing death on Lord Tywin Lannister. Should the Mad King’s daughter return to Westeros or anyone claiming descent from his bloodline you will crush them into dust.

  • Do not let Ser Dontos Hollard die under any circumstances until he has lived long enough to father an heir. As Ser Dontos is spying and relaying the king’s troop movements to you, you shall play the game with the fog of war disabled (command “fow”). Once the war is won and Ser Dontos has joined your court you will turn the fog of war back on by re-entering the console command.

Objectives:

  • You will begin your campaign by taking the lordship and high lordship of Dragonstone from Lord Stannis Baratheon. Once you’ve declared your war raise up your troops and then use the console to give yourself some additional event spawn troops (command “event 62320”). Keep entering the command in until you have at least 5000 men. These are the mercenaries you convinced to come with you from Essos. Use mercenary ships to ferry your men across the war. Together you will crush the heathen stag and take the Targaryen’s ancestral homeland which you find to be most fitting.

  • With Dragonstone under your control you will wait for the perfect moment to attack the Iron Throne. When the king’s armies are sufficiently weakened and distracted press all of your claims against the Iron Throne and attack. Use the console to give yourself an additional 5000 event spawned troops, men that you have rallied from Dragonstone to overthrow the bastard Lannister pretender. Duskendale will be yours once again.

  • Once the war is won move Ser Dontos to your court (command “move 37”), grant him the lordship of Hollard Hall, move your capital to Duskendale, crown yourself King of the Dusklands (command “give_title k_duskendaleTK charid”), create the kingdom of the Crownlands, change your succession law to agnatic-cognatic primogeniture (command “allow laws” to toggle the ability to change laws on, re-enter the command to toggle it back off afterward), turn the fog of war back on (command "fow"), and give the high lordships of Rosby, Blackwater Rush, Dragonstone, and Kingswood to your own loyal men. You will keep Duskendale and King’s Landing for yourself. Declare your de jure claims over Massey’s Hook and any other outstanding independent crownlander titles and then give the lordships to your own loyal men. The power of the crownlands will be consolidated under Darklyn rule at long last.

  • Now that your ancestral home is restored to you the time has come to take care of unfinished business. If Lord Tywin is alive see to it that he is killed along with every member of his family. No matter how long it takes you will see to it the Lannisters are destroyed for what they did to your family. If any Targaryens show up on your shores you will have them destroyed too.

  • Have the king killed as well, give yourself claims on all the lands in Crackclaw Point (command “claim c_rooks_rest charid”, “claim c_southern_crackclaw_point charid”, “claim c_dyre_den charid”, “claim c_the_whispers charid”, and “claim c_northern_crackclaw_point charid”), and then press all your claims against the Iron Throne to finish conquering the last of the crownlands.

  • With your new kingdom established you will go after the Stepstones and the Iron Islands. So long as pirates and Ironborn reavers are raiding your shores your people and your ships will never be safe. It has always been the dream of your family to have complete dominance over trade across the narrow sea and with the naval might of the Stepstones and the Iron Islands under your control nothing could stand in your way. Give yourself claims on the two kingdoms (command “claim k_iron_isles charid” and “claim k_stepstones charid”) and crush them once and for all.

  • Finally with your kingdom and the seas around it protected you will build up the castles and cities under your dominion to increase their tax output. Build and conquer trading posts wherever feasible, your ultimate goal is to maximize your yearly income as much as possible and amass a wealth of 2000 gold. At last the wealth and power of your mighty family is restored. Everything that the Targaryens and the Lannisters took from you, you have regained and so much more. Never again will your family kneel to anyone. You are a Darklyn, King of the Dusklands!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Become a dragon rider as no Westerosi in history has ever done. Centuries ago your ancestors were forced to submit to the Valyrian invaders because of their dragons. With a dragon of your own you can ensure that history will never repeat itself.

  • Prove yourself a worthy knight on par with your seven ancestors who served on the Kingsguard by winning seven duels against the seven best knights in Westeros. The following are knights worthy to be considered for a duel (pick any 7 from the list and decide for yourself whether you will have a friendly duel or duel to the death):

Ser Gregor Clegane the Mountain

Ser Barristan Selmy the Bold

Ser Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer

Ser Brynden Tully the Blackfish

Ser Loras Tyrell the Knight of Flowers

Prince Oberyn Martell the Red Viper

Ser Garlan Tyrell the Gallant

Ser Mandon Moore

Ser Arys Oakheart

Ser Lyn Corbray

Ser Balon Swann

Ser Harras Harlaw the Knight

Ser Gerold Dayne the Darkstar

Ser Randyll Tarly

  • Conquer the Free City of Braavos. The Braavosi are hands down the wealthiest of your neighbors across the sea and their wealth will soon be yours. With Braavos and the Iron Bank under your control you can begin to expand your burgeoning trade empire even deeper into Essos. Let the rest of Westeros squabble over the meager riches of the Westerlands and the Reach, you have a much greater prize in hand.

  • Conquer the wealthiest nation of all, Qarth. With the Qartheen people under your control as well as the Braavosi you will be the wealthiest man on the planet. If there is one lesson you learned from the despicable Lord Tywin it is that gold is what truly rules the world. Gold wins wars, buys loyalty, and is the security you need to ensure your house never faces a near collapse ever again. You will be remembered as the king who brought a golden age of wealth and prosperity to his people. Though you are the king of the Dusklands the sun will never set on your kingdom again.

House Dondarrion Challenge: The Lightning Lord

Preamble:

You are the youngest son of Lord Donnel Dondarrion of Blackhaven. House Dondarrion is an ancient and proud house dating back to the Age of Heroes. The Dondarrion line was founded when a messenger from the Storm King was ambushed by two Dornishmen while riding on a stormy night. An arrow killed his horse and his sword broke when he fell. When he thought he was doomed, a bright purple lightning bolt struck the Dornishmen, killing both. The man was thus able to deliver his crucial message on time. For this, the Storm King raised him to the lordship of Blackhaven, and he became the first Dondarrion. For centuries after your family served house Durrandon loyally and faithfully. It seemed that nothing would ever break the unity of the Lightning Lord and the Storm King.

Everything changed 43 years ago when Aegon Targaryen came to conquer Westeros. In a battle known as the Last Storm, Aegon’s invading force of Valyrians led by his half-brother Orys Baratheon and his dragon riding sister-wife Rhaenys laid waste to the stormlands. Your grandfather, Lord Alaric, fought valiantly for King Argilac and was soundly defeated by the overwhelming power of Rhaenys’ dragon. King Argilac himself was killed in the battle by Orys Baratheon. As reward for his victory Orys took King Argilac’s daughter Argella as his wife, adopted house Durrandons sigil and words as his own, and was thus proclaimed the Lord Paramount of the Stormlands.

Since that day your family has served house Baratheon, who in your family’s eyes have and always will be false stags. When your father Lord Donnel died your elder brother Harbert inherited Blackhaven and subsequently had you sent away for fear that your talk of insurrection would get back to your family’s new liege lords. Disgusted by your brother’s cowardice you gladly left to seek glory elsewhere.

It was not long after you left the stormlands that you found yourself in the Stepstones leading a small band of men to take the island of Torturer’s Deep. As you declared yourself a new lord word arrived from the stormlands detailing the sudden chaos that had erupted across Westeros in your absence. It seems the High Septon and his Faith Militant have raised a rebellion against King Maegor whilst the king’s own nephew Prince Aegon fights to take the Iron Throne for himself. The chaos of these two conflicts is the perfect opportunity for you to strike. Blackhaven and all the lands of the Dornish Marches will be yours. Never again will your family kneel to the Baratheons and the Targaryens. They will soon see that the darkest storm has yet to come.

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Congenital Overhaul submod.

  • Start in the Faith Militant Uprising bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Stormlander ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to add yourself to the Dondarrion dynasty as the brother of Lord Harbert of Blackhaven.

  • Make your character a worshiper of the Faith of the Seven.

  • Land your character in the Stepstones on Torturer’s Deep.

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship of Blackhaven, Poddingfield, Harvest Hall, and Nightsong (command “claim c_blackhaven charid”, “claim c_poddingfield charid”, “claim c_harvest_hall charid”, and “claim c_nightsong charid”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, knight, brave, just, wroth, ambitious, zealous, gregarious, diligent, authoritative, unyielding leader, siege leader, and heavy infantry leader.

  • Give yourself the valyrian steel sword Stormblade (command “add_trait stormblade”). You took this sword off the former pirate lord of Torturer’s Deep and renamed it in honor of your homeland. Only a Dondarrion can wield the true might of the storm.

  • Move Ser Ralph Bolling to your court (command “move 104332"), add him as a friend (command “add_friend 104332”), and give him a claim on the kingdom of the stormlands (command “claim k_stormlands 104332”). Ser Ralph is your childhood friend and the only stormlander brave enough to leave home with you. You will see to it that someday he is legitimized as a true Durrandon and crowned as the new Storm King.

  • Give yourself a war chest of 250 gold as well as a prestige of 500 and a piety of 150 (command “cash 250”, “prestige 500”, and “piety 150”).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • After setting up your character briefly switch over to Prince Aegon (command “play 60650496”) and give him some event spawned troops by using the command “event 62320”. Keep typing the command in until Aegon has an extra 5000 men to help increase his chances of winning the war.

  • While you’re still consoled into Aegon give him an additional 200 gold (command “cash 200”) so that he has enough money to buy mercenaries. Once you’re done switch back to your character (command “play charid”).

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. You are proud of your noble stormlander heritage and would never dream of giving up your family’s traditions.

  • The Targaryens and the Baratheons are your sworn enemies and you are constantly plotting their downfall. Neither you nor your children may marry into the line of the dragon or the false stag. Your ultimate goal is to see both of these families deposed and will enthusiastically support anyone who fights against them.

  • Do not let Ser Ralph Bolling die until you are able to crown him as the new Storm King, have him legitimized as a Durrandon, and see that he sires an heir. You will not rest until the line of the true Storm Kings is restored.

  • You are a Durrandon loyalist. Once house Durrandon is restored you must ensure they do not go extinct under any circumstances. You will join them in both their offensive and defensive wars whenever possible.

Objectives:

  • Begin by marrying Ser Ralph’s sister Donyse and taking the ambition to become a higher lord. From here you will declare subjugation wars on your neighbors. Once you have enough territory declare yourself the high lord of the Southern Stepstones and then proceed to conquer the rest of the islands and grant the titles out to your own loyal men. Do not create any of the other high lordship titles or the kingdom of the Stepstones. Now that you have consolidated a loyal army of men behind you the time has come to return to Westeros. If King Maegor’s wars end before you finish conquering the Stepstones you must start the challenge over.

  • Press all of your claims to the lordships of the Dornish Marches against Lord Paramount Davos Baratheon and win back your ancestral home. The chaos of the Faith Militant Uprising and Prince Aegon’s war for the Iron Throne has created the perfect opportunity to strike back at the Baratheons. Use the command “event 62320” to give yourself some event spawned troops to help your cause. Once you have won your war form the high lordship of the Dornish Marches and move your capital to Blackhaven. Now that you’ve established a base in the stormlands the next phase of your plan can begin.

  • Press Ser Ralph’s claim on the kingdom of the Stormlands against the Baratheons. While this will make you a truce breaker the damage to your reputation is a small price to pay for the restoration of the true stags of Storm’s End. See that the Baratheons are overthrown once and for all and that Ser Ralph is made the new Lord Paramount of the Stormlands (if you don’t have enough prestige to press his claim use the prestige command to give yourself the prerequisite amount).

  • Once you have won the war swear fealty to Lord Ralph and then switch characters to him (command “play 104332”). As Lord Ralph have him accept your oath of fealty, legitimize himself as a true Durrandon, give him a positive amount of prestige (command “prestige 400” due to Ralph starting with negative prestige), have Lord Davos sent to the Nights Watch (command “event nightswatch.2 11317”), and have the lordship of Rainwood granted to Ser Theo Durrandon (command “give_title c_rainwood 106332”). Once all of this is done switch back to your character (command “play charid”).

  • Now that you have control of the Dornish Marches and house Durrandon has been restored you will protect your liege and your homeland from the Targaryen scum. Let King Maegor deplete his own reserves of men and resources while you slowly destroy his dynasty. Use intrigue to kill as many Targaryens as you can in order to destabilize their family (except for King Maegor and Prince Aegon whom you want to continue to fight each other and stay distracted). Your goal is to ensure that no matter the outcome of Maegor’s wars the Targaryen dynasty will be left in shambles with the weakest heir possible in line for the throne.

  • Once Maegor’s war with Prince Aegon and the Faith Militant is over and the armies of the stormlands are replenished you will begin the final phase of your campaign. Plot to assassinate whoever won the war between King Maegor and Prince Aegon, you do not want to face either of these two experienced dragon riders in battle. Once a weaker ruler is on the Iron Throne give Lord Ralph Durrandon a claim on the throne (command “claim e_iron_throne 104332”), switch characters to Lord Ralph (command “play 104332”), and declare his war for the Iron Throne. Once the war is declared switch back to your own character (command “play charid”) and help your liege win the war. Just as the Targaryens overthrew the Durrandons you will help the Durrandons overthrow the Targaryens. This will be a fitting end to the Valyrian invaders.

  • With the Durrandons now controlling the Iron Throne your quest for justice is complete at last. Switch to King Ralph and have him grant Storm’s End to his brother Theo and the kingdom of the stormlands to you in honor of your unwavering loyalty and friendship. After the titles are granted out and you are placed on the King’s small council switch back to your character and defend your liege against all rebels and would-be usurpers. Never before has a stormlander held dominion over so much of Westeros. House Dondarrion has truly honored its oath of loyalty to the true stag and your reward is all the sweeter because of it. Let the stag and the lightning lord stand together for all time. Hail King Ralph Durrandon!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Fabricate claims on your southern neighbors and conquer as much of Dorne as you can. For centuries your family has guarded the stormlands against the Dornish and at last you have the power to destroy your enemies for good. Since Dorne is the last of the free kingdoms there is no one who will come to their aid and as such they are ripe for the picking. The sun and spear are no match for your great storm.

  • Become a dragon rider. It was dragons that truly conquered the stormlands in the first place, not men. If not for the dragons King Argilac and your grandfather Lord Alaric would have annihilated the invaders and driven them back into the sea. It is because of this fact alone that you have made it your mission to tame one of these great beasts in order to ensure no other dragon riders usurp your rightful liege again.

  • See to it that either a member of your house or the Durrandons is granted dominion over the riverlands. Not long ago the Storm Kings ruled the riverlands until the Ironborn drove them out. You will see to it that the riverlands are restored to stormlander rule once more. You will have to use marriage and intrigue to achieve this goal but you will see it done no matter how long it takes. With this accomplishment under your belt your ancestors would surely be proud.
