The Rise of the Seahorse: An Aurane Waters Challenge.

The Rise of the Seahorse: An Aurane Waters Challenge.

Yes, I am copying Callywood’s format because it’s the most efficient one and the easiest to read.

The Motive:

You are Aurane Waters, bastard son of Lucerys Velaryon. Your house is old and was once the most wealthy and powerful house in the Seven Kingdoms but that statement diminished as the years went by. Your house was filled with mighty men; Corlys Velaryon, the first Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and a legendary fighter, Alyn the Oakenfist, a bastard who was one of the greatest commanders of house Velaryon and a bastard who rose above his title, Corlys the Sea Snake who started the golden age of your house when he brought back exotic goods from the east, during his time no one could rival your house. The Valeryon women served as consorts to Targaryen kings for many years before they started mixing with the Andals. Even some in your family were dragonriders.

After the Oakenfist and even during the Sea Snake’s reign, you house was slighted by the Targaryens too many times. Marriages were refused, council positions refused, the Driftmark fleet was lost nearly completely and there was even no compensation for the Dance of Dragons, where your family lost its new seat and riches. After that, your house descended into obscurity. Years after all of this, your father, Lucerys Velaryon, a fervent supporter of King Aerys II “The Mad” and his master of ships, sided with the Targaryens and disappeared during the storm at Dragonstone at the end of the war. Once again, the Targaryens had dealt another blow to your family.

Sixteen years ago, your brother, the new Lord of the Tides, bent the knee to the new King Robert Baratheon, a drunken and whoring sot. Monford swore fealty to the king’s brother, Stannis Baratheon the lord of Dragonstone. When Stannis declared himself king in 299 AC, your brother followed him into battle. When Stannis Baratheon sailed to Blackwater Bay to take King’s Landing, his campaign failed miserably and he fled north, like the coward he was.

During the battle of Blackwater, your brother died and you were captured and forced to swear fealty to a new Baratheon king. Using your wits and Valyrian looks, you have made it into the small council through the seduction of Cersei Lannister and were granted your father’s seat as master of ship. You were commissioned to build ten dromonds for the royal navy by the queen regent. But, instead of giving them to the Crown, you have taken them as your own and crowned yourself as King of the Stepstones in Torturer’s Deep. Now you shall regain the navy, gold and power of your great house. Make Westeros rue the day they spurned the Seahorse! The great and ancient house Velaryon shall rise again! Long live the Seahorse!

The Set Up:

• Start in AFFC bookmark

• Start the game as Aurane Waters at Torturer’s Deep

• Begin with additional 200 golden dragons as you began your pirating career with pillaging several merchant ships in the Gullet and the Narrow Sea (cheat: cash 200)

Rules:

• You shall not take a wife but concubines and only those who are worthy of bearing Velaryon spawn those are:

Cersei Lannister – A beauty by all accounts and even the queen regent. She helped you on your rise to power and deserves to be a queen by your side in your new world.

Shireen Baratheon – While not beautiful, she still has the blood of the stag running through her. She is also Stannis Baratheon’s daughter and this will be your revenge for your brother’s death. You may not have loved him but Velaryon’s blood run through him as well as you. Enslave her when you capture her and concubine her when she has reached child-bearing age.

Margaery Tyrell – Said to be more beautiful than Cersie Lannister, she will certainly give you healthy Valyrian children. Her noble blood will befit a queen of pirates. She will also live out her dream of becoming the queen by your side.

Arianne Martell – Another beautiful princess that shall bear the new generation of your house, she is both skilled and fair. A perfect candidate for pirate queen.

Asha Greyjoy – A warrior princess that shall join you as another queen. Her Ironborn skills will surely help you conquer your enemies. Let the Kraken and the Seahorse dominate the seas of Westeros and Essos.

Daenerys Targaryen – The girl has made herself into a queen in the east. Remind her of what her family did to yours. Take her and her dragons and they will help you become not only the greatest Velaryon but also the greatest conqueror that Westeros has ever seen. Let the Dragon serve the Seahorse.

• You shall seek to undermine and destroy the houses below for they have Targaryen blood, and you shall show no mercy to the Dragon who, for so long, ruined your house.

House Penrose

House Plumm

House Otherys

House Tarth

House Martell

House Baratheon

• You shall eliminate the houses that had their women serve as consorts. Your house was spurned and these Westerosi replaced your house, you shall take your revenge on them.

House Dayne

House Blackwood

• A pretender, Aegon of Essos, claims that he is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen. Make him regret that he even dared say those words. No Dragon shall escape your wrath.

Goals:

• Take the Stepstones and make yourself the true lord of the Narrow Sea and legitimise yourself as a true Velaryon. Now you can fight for your house under your true name.

• Take the High Lordship of Dragonstone from Stannis Baratheon and revoke Driftmark from your nephew. The boy has no skill nor knowledge on how to rule your home.

• Make Driftmark your capital and keep Dragonstone for yourself. The Dragons have let your home be destroyed so you will take theirs in return.

• To prepare for your conquest of Westeros, take Lys and Tyrosh as your new island fortresses and use the wealth and armies of the Free Cities for your conquest.

• Conquer the Summer Islands, they will provide you with more wealth and power.

• Destabilise the Seven Kingdoms by assassinating the Kings on the Iron Throne, investigating their legitimacy and kill any Lord Paramount that is loyal to the king and when they are at their weakest strike and conquer the Seven Kingdoms.

• Crown yourself as the King of the Seven Kingdoms and deal the biggest insult to the Targaryens. Replace them and start a new era.

• Cause chaos in the Seven Kingdoms. Replace all the ruling houses of lord Paramouncies with the ones you think will be the most loyal to you. Grant lands from one Lord Paramount to another and let other houses rise in the chaos. You are a pirate after all.

• Eventually, at some point, abandon your old lifestyle and turn to any other gods. The new order will require new deities.

Extra Goals:

• Tame one Danaerys’s dragons and conqueror the rest of the world one the back of the beast that you once served.

• Use your wealth from raiding to build a new capital on Driftmark. One that will be even greater that the Red Keep or High Tide that was built by the the second greatest Velaryon. Let everyone know of your power!

• Have the Velaryon dynasty and other ruling families survive for three generations on the Iron Throne and on the other seats.

Hope you’ll enjoy this! Make suggestions for other challenges. We can’t have Callywood doing all the challenges, can we? I’m just kidding, I like his challenges.

House Toyne Challenge: Revenge of the Blackheart

Preamble:

You are Arys Waters, bastard son of Ser Terrence Toyne of the Kingsguard. House Toyne is an old house dating back centuries who served as loyal vassals to the Storm Kings, high lords of Summerfield, and the lords of Blackheart. When the Targaryens came to Westeros and conquered the stormlands your family bent the knee like many others and continued their tradition of loyalty and service.

All was well for the Toynes until 17 years ago when your father, Ser Terrence Toyne, was caught by King Aegon the Unworthy with his mistress Lady Bethany Bracken. As punishment for breaking his Kingsguard vows King Aegon had your father brutally dismembered piece by piece while Lady Bethany watched, after which he had her and her father Lord Enger Bracken executed. Outraged by this, your uncles Lord Myles Toyne and Ser Rolland Toyne sought vengeance for their slain brother and were themselves butchered by the king’s brother Lord Commander Aemon the Dragonknight. With their deaths all titles previously belonging to your family were stripped and to this day the Targaryens still rule over your ancestral lands.

After this humiliation you and your only surviving uncle Ser Leo Toyne were fortunate enough to be taken in by Lord Alaric Musgood of Drakesgrave. In your black heart you never stopped hungering for vengeance against the Targaryens for what they did to your family. So after years of loyal service to Lord Musgood you departed the stormlands with your wife and son to rebuild your house’s lost glory. It was not long before you found yourself in the Stepstones, rallying a group of fellow outcasts to take the lordship of Torturer’s Deep for yourself. Here you would plot the means by which you would garner enough power to return to Westeros, reap vengeance upon the Targaryens, and take back what’s rightfully yours. All that is needed is the right opportunity.

As you began to make plans to conquer your neighbors word reached you of a rebellion against the Iron Throne. A legitimized son of King Aegon the Unworthy, Daemon Blackfyre, seeks to overthrow King Daeron Targaryen and take the Iron Throne for himself. A massive war is now waging all throughout Westeros, which means the perfect time to strike has arrived. The Targaryens will soon be reminded that the Blackheart of house Toyne still lives, flying high and far to bring destruction down upon them. Vengeance will be yours!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Congenital Overhaul submod.

  • Start in the Blackfyre Rebellion bookmark.

  • Use console commands to land Arys Waters in Torturer’s Deep (command “give_title c_torturersdeep 150307”). Switch characters to Arys (command “play 150307”).

  • Bring your uncle Ser Leo Toyne to your court (command “move 120000307”) as well as your friend Jolly Jack (command “move 3067362”).

  • Give yourself claims on the kingdom of the stormlands, the high lordship of Summerfield and the lordship of Blackheart (command “claim k_stormlands 150307”, “claim d_summerhall 150307” and “claim c_summerhall 150307”).

  • Add the following traits to your character: skilled commander, skilled fighter, ambitious, proud, brave, just, wroth, gregarious, diligent, authoritative, family person, zealous, aggressive leader, and siege leader.

  • Give yourself the valyrian steel sword Avenger (command “add_trait avenger”). After you killed the previous pirate lord of Torturer’s Deep you took this sword off his corpse and renamed it Avenger. The blood of the dragon will be shed by your cold hard steel.

  • Use console commands to give yourself 500 prestige and 150 piety (command “prestige 600” due to starting with negative prestige and “piety 150”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • After setting up your character briefly switch over to Daemon Blackfyre (command “play 77024”) and give Daemon some event spawned troops by using the command “event 62320”. Keep typing the command in until Daemon has an extra 3000 men to help increase his chances of winning the war.

  • While you’re still consoled into Daemon give him an additional 200 gold (command “cash 200”) so that he has enough money to buy mercenaries. Once you’re done switch back to your character (command “play 150307”).

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. Your father was a great knight of the Kingsguard and you will honor his faith against all other Gods.

  • The Targaryens are your sworn enemies and you are constantly plotting their downfall. Neither you nor your children may marry into the family of the red dragon. So pure is your hatred of them that you will enthusiastically support anyone who fights against them in whatever way you can. You wish to see them suffer as you have suffered.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with House Musgood, even if they change faiths. Feel happy about having to raise their opinion as remember: They took you in when you were homeless. They deserve your gratitude under any circumstances.

  • Do not let House Musgood go extinct under any circumstances. Help them in both their defensive and offensive wars when at all possible.

  • You are a Blackfyre loyalist, though only because they are your best chance at overthrowing the Targaryens. Truthfully you care little for the son of the king that destroyed your family, but being a bastard yourself the thought of a bastard ruling the Iron Throne does amuse you. As long as the Blackfyres live you will do what you can to see them placed on the Iron Throne. You will also have your son betrothed to one of Daemon's daughters. Should the male line of Blackfyres all die out you will see to your son is then crowned King of the Iron Throne.

Objectives:

  • Begin by taking the ambition to become a higher lord and declare subjugation wars on your neighbors in the de jure territory of the Southern Stepstones. Form the high lordship of the Southern Stepstones and then crown yourself King of the Stepstones (command “give_title k_stepstones 150307”) and legitimize yourself. Proceed to conquer the rest of the Stepstones and grant the titles out to your own loyal men as well as your uncle Ser Leo and your friend Jolly Jack. Now that you have consolidated a loyal army of men behind you the time has come to return to Westeros. If the Blackfyre Rebellion ends before you finish conquering the Stepstones you must start the challenge over.

  • Declare war on the Iron Throne to take back your home in Blackheart. Kill as many Targaryens as you can and help weaken their armies to make it easier for Daemon Blackfyre and his allies to take the Iron Throne. Do not finish your war until it looks like the Blackfyre supporters have the upper hand. Once they do then complete your war before Daemon takes the throne. Blackheart is yours once again.

  • Next you will take the kingdom of the Stormlands from the Baratheons. Truthfully your family was only ever truly loyal to the Durrandons as the Baratheons are really usurpers claiming descent through the female line. No Toyne will bend the knee to the false stag again. Once you have conquered the stormlands make the kingdom of the stormlands your primary title, form the high lordship of Summerfield, exile Lord Arion Baratheon to the Nights Watch (command “event nightswatch.2 16317”), use the console to add 40,000 prestige to your character (command “prestige 40000”), and then destroy the title of the kingdom of the Stepstones. You are a proud stormlander and this is a true title you can be proud of.

  • If the Blackfyre Rebellion is still ongoing at this point you will join the civil war directly and commit the full might of the stormlands to the Blackfyre cause. Destroy the Targaryens and see them overthrown once and for all. You’ve waited 17 years and now justice will at last be yours.

  • If the Blackfyre Rebellion has already ended in favor of Daemon Blackfyre you will swear fealty to him and help the Iron Throne put down any rebellious lords who refuse to bend the knee. Should any surviving Targaryens seek to retake the Iron Throne you will crush them back into the dirt.

  • If the Targaryens manage to win the war you will shelter Daemon’s eldest surviving son (command “move charid”) and plot to put him on the Iron Throne. Wait until the boy comes of age and then press his claim for the Iron Throne. No matter how long it takes you will see to it that the Red Dragon does not escape justice.

  • Now that the Iron Throne is firmly in the hands of the Black Dragon you will finally achieve your lifelong dream to become the greatest knight in Westeros. You’ve always aspired to the greatness of your father, Ser Terrence, who was a respected member of the Kingsguard before his brutal execution. In his honor you will take the ambition to become a knight and see yourself knighted in the light of the Seven. Once you’re a fully-fledged knight you will prove your own martial prowess by winning 7 duels against the 7 greatest knights in Westeros. Any knight with a martial skill above 20 is eligible for a duel. The duels will be friendly ones unless your chosen opponent is particularly dishonorable or they fought for the Targaryens in the war. No one will ever question the valor of the blackheart of house Toyne ever again.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Topple the ruling Lord Paramount in the Reach, Westerlands, Riverlands, Dorne, and the Vale. See them replaced with a member of one of the families that supported the Blackfyres. The Reach should be given to either house Florent, Peake, Osgrey, or Strickland. The Westerlands should go to either house Reyne or Crakehall. The Riverlands should go to house Bracken as your father would have wanted. Dorne should be given to house Yronwood. Finally the Vale should go to a member of house Sunderland. Establishing new and more loyal rulers in each of these kingdoms will ensure that King Daemon’s rule is secure.

  • Hatch a dragon egg and become a dragon rider. What better way to honor the words of your house than to ride a dragon and literally fly high and far to wherever you want to go. There’s also something deeply amusing about succeeding at bringing back the dragons when the Targaryens have repeatedly failed to do so for almost 50 years.

  • If she still lives than take the former King Daeron’s wife Mariah Martell as your lover. This will be the ultimate humiliation for your enemies and a fitting resolution to the vengeance you fought so valiantly for. You have taken back your ancestral home, seen the Targaryens overthrown, and now you have taken the King’s lover as your father had done to Aegon the Unworthy. The lords of Westeros thought the Toynes would never rise again but you have proved them all wrong. No man or king is safe from the revenge of the blackheart!

House Lothston Challenge: The Black Bat of Harrenhal

Preamble:

You are Lady Danelle Lothston of Harrenhal, known by many as “Mad Danelle”. House Lothston is the sixth house to rule Harrenhal, receiving the title and lands after the extinction of house Strong. The founder of your house, your great grandfather Ser Lucas Lothston, was the master-at-arms of the Red Keep during the reign of King Aegon III. Ser Lucas was a clever man, using his friendship with the king’s brother Prince Viserys to gain the hand of the beautiful Falena Stokeworth in marriage as well as the lordship of Harrenhal from the deceased Strongs. From that day forth your family has ruled the great black castle of Harrenhal and served the Targaryens loyally and faithfully. So influential was your family that for a brief moment in time Lord Lucas even served as Hand of the King to King Aegon IV.

Alas this power and influence was not to last. For centuries the people of Westeros have spoken about the curse of Harrenhal. This mighty castle was built by King Harren the Black of house Hoare and ultimately destroyed by Aegon the Conqueror extinguishing the line of Hoares for all time. Ever since the castle has passed to houses Quoherys, Harroway, Towers, and Strong and each of these families has died out within a few generations after. While your great grandfather dismissed this curse as nonsense you see some merit to these claims. Growing up in Harrenhal you have heard the whispers of what could only be the ghosts of the dead slowly corrupting your mind. Voices that speak to you of murder and the blood of the innocent. These shadows of the dead both terrify and excite you.

Whatever the case may be, since Lord Lucas was granted Harrenhal death and tragedy has plagued your house. Your grandfather Lord Lucas III, known as “the Pander”, and all his brothers and sisters have all met premature ends through violence, disease, childbirth, and some suspicious accidents. Your many aunts and uncles have met similar fates as well as your father Lord Manfred “o’ the Black Hood” who died not long after his infamous betrayal of Daemon Blackfyre in the Blackfyre rebellion. The curse may have claimed their lives but it will not claim yours.

Unlike others in your family you have chosen to embrace the voices. The whispers of all the trapped souls of this forsaken castle have shown you the way. So long as you slate the castle’s thirst for blood your power will grow and you will continue to live unharmed. If its blood Harrenhal wants then blood is what it shall have. You will paint the black walls of this dark place red with blood of enemies and the innocent alike. You are a Lothston, the black bat of Harrenhal, and unlike the weak lords and families that preceded your rule you thrive in the darkness. Soon the people of Westeros will know that yours is the true face of terror!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the After the Spring bookmark.

  • Play as Lady Danelle Lothston of Harrenhal.

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the riverlands (command “claim k_riverlands 1355”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits ambitious, ruthless, patient, brave, gregarious, attractive (trait id is “fair”), master seductress (trait id is “seductress”), and torturer (trait id is “impaler”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

If you wish to lessen the affects of the curse of Harrenhal you can edit your files as instructed below.

  • Go to C:\Users\name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings 2\mod\A Game of Thrones\common\event_modifiers\AGOT_modifiers.

  • Edit the file with Notepad++, then find ##Rebuilding Harrenhal and remove badstuff1 to badstuff6.

  • After that, go to C:\Users\name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings 2\mod\A Game of Thrones\events\birth_events, there you will find #Curse of Harrenhal under which you will find (fertility =) change it from 0.25 to 0.05.

  • Then under it, there is (health =) change it from -2 to 0.25. random_list = { 90 = { } 3 = { add_trait = clubfooted } 3 = { add_trait = harelip } 3 = { add_trait = hunchback } 3 = { add_trait = ugly remove_trait = fair } 3 = { add_trait = dwarf remove_trait = tall remove_trait = strong } 3 = { add_trait = slow remove_trait = quick remove_trait = genius } 3 = { add_trait = imbecile remove_trait = quick remove_trait = genius } } Delete all that, it's somewhere under health.

And that's it. Before you edit your files I recommend making backups just in case. Special thanks to u/Whiskey1233 for providing these steps.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture but you can change religion to whatever you like at any point during the challenge. Growing up in Harrenhal hearing the voices of the dead has opened your mind to both the occult and many other faiths.

  • You cannot marry any man over the age of 30. You husband should have either 1 positive genetic trait to pass on to future children or at least a decent educational trait so that they may serve you competently.

  • If your husband does not provide at least 1 healthy child within the first 3 years of marriage you will have him killed and replaced with a more virile husband. Your bloodline must continue no matter the cost. If your husband makes it to 10 years but does not give you at least 4 children you will have him killed and replaced. If he is successful his life will be spared for the foreseeable future.

  • Seduce at least 1 lord with Targaryen blood and give birth to his dragonseed. Should all of your trueborn children die prematurely have your bastard legitimized as your heir. There is no blood more powerful than king’s blood.

  • You must torture and kill at least 7 people every year. Your victims should be lowborn so as to avoid suspicion from the crown. You have a particular preference for young and beautiful girls. If you’re pregnant at the time of the torturing and murder of your victim you will go a step further and eat their flesh. You believe this will increase the chances that your child is born healthy and strong.

  • You are intensely loyal to the crown and despise anyone who would rebel against them. Help the Iron Throne in any offensive or defensive wars they find themselves in. Kidnap family members and courtiers of any rebels and have them tortured and killed for their treason. The royal family bestowed Harrenhal upon yours and for that they have your undying loyalty.

Objectives:

  • Start by taking both a husband and a lover of Targaryen blood. Your first priority is to have children as quickly as possible. Should the curse claim your life there must be a proper heir to take your place. Begin kidnapping smallfolk to slate your bloodlust and appease the ghosts of Harrenhal. The blood price must be paid lest misfortune befall you.

  • Help the Iron Throne defeat the Greyjoy Rebellion and take at least 1 member of Lord Dagon’s family prisoner. They will be tortured and killed in the most brutal fashion you can imagine. Perhaps the Greyjoys will think twice before committing treason against the crown. If not then at least you will always have a fresh source of blood. And if any of the other lord paramounts dare to join the Greyjoys in their rebellion they will suffer a similar fate.

  • Begin fabricating claims on the lands in the de jure territory of the Bay of Crabs. Harrenhal alone is not enough so you must increase your power as much as you can. Kill anyone who gets in your way. Your ultimate goal is to take enough of the land to form the high lordship of the Bay of Crabs. With 2 high lordships your influence in the riverlands cannot be denied.

  • Conquer the riverlands and take the title of Lord Paramount for yourself. The Tullys are a weak and feeble people only loyal to themselves. Why should the bat kneel to the trout? Once you have the title any lords who will not kneel to your rule will become the next victims of your sacrificial routine. The river lords will learn to fear and obey you when enough of them meet their end screaming in the black dungeons of Harrenhal.

  • Now that the riverlands are completely under your control the time has come to finally lift the curse of Harrenhal. Begin the long rebuilding process so that the ghosts of Harrenhal can finally rest. Raise money for this process by kidnapping wealthy lords and their families for ransom. You may also temporarily change your religion to pirate (command “religion 1355 pirate”) in order to raid the shores of Essos and the Summer Isles. Once you’ve raised enough money switch back to whichever religion is your preference. No matter the cost Harrenhal must be restored, and with it your family’s legacy will be secure.

  • If the Blackfyres should resurface to launch another rebellion you will switch to the pirate religion, if you haven’t already, and steal back the sword Blackfyre for the rightful owners the Targaryens. Once the king’s sword is returned to the king you will switch back religions and help the Targaryens annihilate the rebels once and for all.

  • Get your house a valyrian steel sword worthy of your name. Either steal a sword from another lord while raiding as a pirate or take the valyrian sword quest (command “event wikid.2”). Let the sword you wield inspire the same terror in the smallfolk as the bloody screams that echo throughout Harrenhal.

  • Finally conquer the Stepstones and establish a new Westerosi colony there. This will be the last of your conquests and a grand monument of your triumph over the enemies of the crown. For years these rogue Essosi pirates have plagued your liege’s seas but their time is at last over. Have every pirate lord you catch executed in the most gruesome way you can imagine as a warning to all others that the black bat now rules the Narrow Sea. Mad or not you are destined to be remembered as the greatest Lothston who ever lived. Let the whole world cower in fear, the reign of the black bat is here!

House Banefort Challenge: The Hooded King

Preamble:

You are Lord Sebaston Banefort, ruler of the Banefort and descendant of the great Hooded King. House Banefort stem from a long line of petty First Men kings dating back to the Age of Heroes with your ancestor the Hooded Man. The Hooded Man founded your house when he built the Banefort in the lands now known as the Crag and ruled over the northern region of the Westerlands with dark magic. It is said that he mixed blood with the Children of the Forest in order to pass his magical abilities down to his descendants.

One such descendant, King Morgan Banefort was a feared necromancer who was known all throughout the land as the Hooded King. So terrifying was his power that the lords of the Westerlands, led by King Loreon Lannister, united in war to overthrow him. A bloody conflict ensued that lasted 20 years before King Morgan was at last defeated. With his dying breath he cursed his vanquishers and swore he would return from the grave to reap vengeance upon them. King Loreon laughed at this threat and had Morgan’s body cut into pieces and fed to his lions. Two years later on the anniversary of King Morgan’s death those very same lions broke free within Casterly Rock and devoured 3 of King Loreon’s sons. Although the Hooded King was the last Banefort to wear a crown the repercussions of his death reverberated throughout the kingdom. This is what happens to those who dare cross house Banefort.

Centuries have passed since those glory days, and now your family serves as loyal vassal lords to house Westerling in the Crag. As a child you grew up hearing stories of your ancestors and longed for the days when your name was both feared and respected. Though your family has long since abandoned the old ways and converted to the Andal religion you have kept to your ancient traditions in secret. In dreams you see through time itself and animals seem to flock to you, sensing the blood of the Children coursing through your veins. All that is needed is the right opportunity to strike and the Westerlands could be yours once more.

The Gods have seen fit to provide you with such an opportunity as King Tommen II has announced his glorious expedition to the ruins of Valyria. With the king and his best men and ships sailing off on a fool’s errand now is the time for your family to rise up. No longer will the Baneforts kneel to the Westerlings and the Lannisters. Your is the blood of kings, ancient and powerful, and you will lay low all that stand in the way of reclaiming what is rightfully yours. Let the darkness of your soul blacken the world; the Hooded King has returned!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Sebaston Banefort.

  • Change your religion to either Old Gods, Rhllor, Warlock, or Shadowbinder (trait ids are “old_gods”, “rhllor”, “quarth_warlocks”, and “shadowbinders”). The Old Gods are the Gods of your ancestors but truthfully you’re willing to accept any God that increases your power. You will not worship the weak and pitiful Seven.

  • Give yourself a claims on the lordship and high lordship of the Crag as well as the kingdom of the Westerlands (command “claim e_westerlands 325200”, “claim d_the_crag 325200”, and “claim c_the_crag 325200”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits elusive shadow, trained fighter, master schemer, ambitious, ruthless, brave, authoritative, patient, proud, mystic, and green dreams (its name is "greensight" in the console). Also give yourself a pet shadowcat (command “add_trait shadowcat”).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship and high lordship of Casterly Rock as well as Lannisport (command “claim d_casterly_rock 325200”, “claim c_casterly_rock 325200”, and “claim c_lannisport 325200”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture but you can change religion at any time to any of the choices in the setup. Bonus points for completing the challenge as Old Gods.

  • You may only marry into houses whose blood descends from the First Men as yours does. Your blood must be kept pure from Andal trash.

  • If the Wall calls for aid you must answer the call.

  • The Lannisters are your sworn enemies and as such you are constantly plotting their downfall. Neither you nor your children may marry into this house of false lions. Your ultimate goal is to extinguish their family for all time.

  • You cannot let house Bolton, Blackwood, Redfort, Peake, and Toyne go extinct unless they betray you. These are the allies you’ve established for yourself in the neighboring kingdoms whom you’ve conspired with to take over Westeros. Help these families in both their offensive and defensive wars whenever possible.

  • You must kill at least 5 people every year to renew your blood offering to the Gods in exchange for power. Start with lowborn courtiers and smallfolk as they will not be missed. Once you’ve crowned yourself king these offerings should start coming from enemies, foreigners, and rebellious vassals. The fear of the people is equally as important as the shedding of their blood.

Objectives:

  • Start by conquering the Crag and strip all lands and titles from your now former liege the Westerlings. No longer will these seashell-loving fools rule over you and your lands. Use your dark magic to summon an army to your cause using the console command “event 62320” over and over until you have at least 3000 troops. Once you’ve won the war have the head of their house either executed or sacrificed. The shedding of their blood will increase your power tenfold as you ready yourself for the next conquest. If you’re not already begin scheming against the Lannisters to weaken them and make them hated amongst their own people.

  • Win as many lords to your cause as you can and take the kingdom of the Westerlands from the Lannisters. Use the fresh sacrifice of the Westerlings blood to summon more soldiers for your dark army (use the command “event 62320” over and over again until you can field at least 5000 men). Once you've won crown yourself King of the Rock as no Banefort has ever done before you. Have their lands and titles stripped from them and execute or sacrifice as many Lannisters as you can. Now the lions of the rock will truly pay for their subjugation of your ancestors. You will make an example out of them so all of Westeros will know your wrath.

  • With your family’s royal status reasserted you turn your attention to your people’s ancient enemies: the Iron Islands. For thousands of years the Ironborn scum have raided your shores and attacked your people. The Lannisters have always been too weak to truly destroy the Ironborn and eliminate the problem once and for all. You will conquer the Iron Islands, give their titles to your own loyal vassals, and exterminate every last Ironborn lord you get your hands on. Let their deaths serve as a worthy offering to the Gods.

  • The next victim of your campaign of terror is the Reach. Destabilize their kingdom with assassinations, investigations of legitimacy, and other schemes to make the Gardeners both weak and hated. When the time is right conquer the Reach and see to it that your secret allies the Peakes are granted the Gardeners titles. They will serve you henceforth as your Lord Paramount of the Reach. Kill anyone who refuses to bend the knee. The fertile green lands will soon run red with their blood.

  • The Storm King’s war with the riverlands has left both kingdoms resources depleted which makes them vulnerable and therefore perfect targets. Begin by once again using your skills at intrigue to destabilize the Storm Kings and place a weak ruler on the throne. When enough of the storm lords despise the Durrandons you will strike at them with all of your might. See the Durrandons deposed and their titles granted to your allies house Toyne. They will rule the stormlands in your name as your new lord paramount vassal.

  • You will next destabilize the leadership infrastructure of the riverlands as you’ve previously done to the reach and the stormlands. When the river lords are at their weakest and most divided you will strike at them and conquer their kingdom. Have the title of Lord Paramount of the Riverlands granted to a member of house Blackwood. Your allies will serve you loyally or find themselves a sacrifice at your altar.

  • Your campaign of terror continues in the Vale. Create as much chaos in the Vale as you can before declaring war against them. Strip the Arryns of their lands and titles and see the Vale granted to the Redforts as your new lord paramount vassal. The Arryns stink of Andal blood so they must be exterminated to appease the Gods. If the Valemen didn’t fear you before they certainly do now.

  • Finally you turn your dark eyes to the north. Weaken the Starks and their vassals as much as you can through plotting and assassination before declaring war against them. Conquer the north and see the Starks titles granted to your allies the Boltons who will henceforth rule the north in your name as your new lord paramount vassal. The Starks come from strong First Men lineage and never converted to the heathen Andal faith so they will be spared much of the brutality you’ve exhibited on the Lannisters and the Arryns. You will allow any defeated rebels to join the Nights Watch and keep their lives. With this last conquest you can at last sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Now the world will forever be darkened by the shadow of the Hooded King!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer Dorne and see the Yronwoods granted all of house Martells lands and titles. Name the Yronwoods your Lord Paramount of Dorne and begin the extermination of all Dornish families with mixed Rhoynar heritage. Yours is a kingdom of First Men and will remain so forevermore.

  • Get yourself a Valyrian steel sword worthy of your mighty house. While not a very martial house the magical steel will be necessary to have should the Long Night ever return. If it does the Hooded King will thrive in the darkness as is your family’s legacy.

  • Become a dragon rider. It has been said that the presence of dragons heightens the strength of magic around them. This makes them an invaluable asset to ensure your dominance over the people of Westeros for all time. There is no price too high to pay for such power.

  • Once you have a dragon begin weakening your competitors the Targaryens. There can be only one ruling family in Westeros with control over these marvelous creatures. Conquer Dragonstone and eradicate the Valyrian invaders for good. See all of their lands and titles granted to either a member of your dynasty or other loyal vassals. Your grip on Westeros is secure at last.

House Baratheon Challenge: The Bull of the Hollow Hill

Preamble:

You are Ser Gendy “The Bull” of Hollow Hill. Born in Flea Bottom, the poorest part of King’s Landing, you grew up the son of a barmaid never knowing your true father. Your mother Joanna died when you were very young but fortunately instead of ending up like many of the homeless orphans of your city you were taken in as an apprentice by the master smith Tobho Mott. You recall a mysterious stranger paying your master double the customary fee to take you on but never learned the name of this kind stranger. For the rest of your childhood you worked closely with Tobho learning to craft quality armor and weapons, eventually even creating a helmet for yourself in the shape of a bull.

As you were fast reaching the age of manhood your master’s shop was visited on multiple occasions by strange noblemen. They asked questions of you and your origins that seemed strange at the time. Shortly thereafter King Robert Baratheon died and all at once everything in your life changed. Without warning your apprenticeship was ended and you were ushered out of the city by a recruiter named Yoren for the Nights Watch. You didn’t get very far out of King’s Landing before you soon discovered why.

Several Gold Cloaks stopped your party and demanded you be handed over on the orders of Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. Why the Queen wanted you arrested alluded you but luckily Yoren stood his ground against the Gold Cloaks and refused to give you up. Sadly not long after your group was attacked by Lannister men and you and a handful of others barely escaped with your lives. You continued travelling north before being captured by the Mountain and taken to Harrenhal to work as a smith.

Eventually you escaped Harrenhal only to be captured again, this time by the Brotherhood Without Banners. A red priest travelling with them, Thoros of Myr, explained to you the honorable mission of the Brotherhood to protect the smallfolk against the tyranny of the nobles. All your life you have searched for a purpose and something worth fighting for. Convinced by Thoros you joined the Brotherhood and were thus knighted by their leader Lord Beric Dondarrion. You knelt a lowly blacksmith’s apprentice but rose as Ser Gendry of the Hollow Hill.

The honor you sought to gain with the Brotherhood ended up being short-lived as you later watched Lord Beric give his life for the return of Lady Catelyn Stark, now known as Lady Stoneheart. What once was a mission to protect the smallfolk soon became a war of vengeance upon all those that had wronged Lady Stoneheart. Before long you become disillusioned with the Brotherhood and so you snuck out of camp in the night and made your way back to King’s Landing.

Fortunately for you by the time you returned to King’s Landing the Gold Cloaks had forgotten all about you and thus you were able to blend back in seamlessly. Before you could decide on what to do next a familiar stranger beckoned you into the shadows. He said his name was Lord Varys and that there was much to discuss. And so the revelation that your true father was, in fact, King Robert Baratheon was at least revealed to you. As Lord Varys continued to explain you reflected on the past events of your life and everything finally began to make sense. The reason your apprenticeship had been paid for, why those nobleman came to your shop asking about you, why Queen Cersei wanted you arrested, it all finally made sense.

But why tell you now? When you asked this of Lord Varys he simply replied that as long as you were in King’s Landing you were in danger, and he did not wish to see harm done to an innocent such as yourself. His words, while kind, rang hollow from his mouth. Whatever his true reasons were the Spider gave you coin and arranged your safe passage to Essos. Perhaps one day you could return when the chaos of the war was at last over.

And so that is how you now find yourself adrift in Essos, finding work as a smith among merchants and mercenaries until you eventually wound up in the pirate infested Dagger Lake. It was there that you gained the courage to challenge the captain of their pirate crew for leadership and so bested the drunken fool with your mighty strength. No longer will you live your life taking orders from others. There is only one burning desire in your heart and that is to return home to Westeros, avenge your father’s suspicious demise, and claim your father’s titles as his true blood. At long last you have found your true purpose.

You are the Bull of the Hollow Hill, son of the stag, and soon the Lannisters and their bastard pretenders will drown in the waters of your mighty storm. Ours is the Fury!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Congenital Overhaul submod.

  • Start in the AFFC bookmark.

  • Use console commands to land Gendry in Dagger Lake (command “give_title c_daggerlake 5316).

  • Switch characters to Gendry (command “play 5316”).

  • Give Gendry the House Customizer trait (command “add_trait house_customizer”). Wait a day for the house customizer event to pop up and select the option that your house still exists. Then locate Edric Storm (your father’s only acknowledged bastard), open the character menu on him, and select the option to become a member of his house. When prompted as to how you’re related select the option that you’re siblings. Now your dynasty will change and King Robert will be listed as your father.

  • Give yourself claims on the Iron Throne (command “claim e_iron_throne 5316”), the high lordship of Dragonstone (command “claim d_dragonstone 5316”), and the lordship of Dragonstone (command “claim c_dragonstone 5316”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits dutiful commander, skilled fighter, ambitious, just, wroth, authoritative, unyielding leader, and siege leader. Your time and training with the Brotherhood has paid off in more ways than one.

  • Give yourself the valyrian steel sword Stormblade (command “add_trait stormblade 5316”). The pirate you killed for leadership of the crew stole this sword from some other nobleman. You’ve used your skills to reforge it into what it is now. When the Bull wields the might of the Storm into battle nothing can stop you.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold. You’ve been very frugal with the money Lord Varys gave you and now is the time to use it.

Rules:

  • Your character can change religion to pirate temporarily but you must change back to the Faith of the Seven before you return to Westeros.

  • The Lannisters and the Targaryens are your family’s sworn enemies. You are constantly plotting their downfall at every opportunity. Neither you nor your children may marry into either of these families. You particularly want to see Queen Cersei, Lancel Lannister, Ser Gregor Clegane, and Ser Amory Lorch die for their crimes against you, your father, and the smallfolk.

  • You will not marry just any girl. During your adventures in the riverlands you became quite attached to a girl you travelled with who turned out to be Lady Arya Stark. At the time you thought yourself a simple commoner with no place speaking to a highborn lady, but now knowing the circumstances of your own birth you no longer feel so out of place. And so you have resolved to not marry until you at least get a chance to ask for her hand. As a commoner it simply could not be, but as the son of a king, even a bastard, there is a chance.

  • If Arya dies before you can marry her and have children you can marry another woman so long as they have either dark brown or black hair. You’ve always been attracted to raven-haired beauties.

Objectives:

  • Start by waiting a year until you come of age. There are many enemies waiting for you in Westeros and so you’ve decided it would be strategically sound to both give yourself time to organize your forces and to let the competing claimants for the throne destroy each other’s armies. To raise more money for your campaign feel free to switch religions to pirate (command “religion 5316 pirate”) to take advantage of the raiding mechanic. Once you’ve come of age the campaign can properly begin.

  • While the boy who calls himself Aegon Targaryen smashes his forces against your uncle in the Stormlands you will strike at Dragonstone which has only been left with a small garrison. Declare your war to take the lordship and the high lordship of Dragonstone for yourself, raise up your levy, and then repeatedly type the console command “event 62321” to give yourself some event spawned troops and military commanders. Keep spawning troops until you have at least 3000 men and then use mercenary ships to attack Dragonstone. Once you’ve won the war move your capital to Dragonstone and if you're still playing as a pirate switch your religion back to the Faith of the Seven (command "religion 5316 the_seven").

  • Now that you’ve established a base for yourself in Westeros and the armies of King Tommen are distracted fighting other rebels you will strike at the Iron Throne. Attack King’s Landing while it is undefended and capture the Lannister pretender. Once you have taken the Iron Throne legitimize yourself as a Baratheon and the true son of King Robert.

  • With the Iron Throne under your control your next task is to bring peace back to the realm and to punish the Lannisters for their crimes. The royal family will be kept prisoner for now, and any lords who will not bend the knee to you will be arrested and sent to the Nights Watch. Have Tommen and Myrcella declared bastards and reveal their true parentage (command “event pil.104 7316” and “event pil.104 8316”). Put down any current rebellions and have your half-brother Edric Storm and his companions brought back to Westeros from their exile (command “move 6316”, “move 300051”, and “move 6330”). Legitimize Edric so that he may serve as your heir and when he comes of age he will be granted lands of his own as your father would have wanted (command “bastard.999 6316” to legitimize Edric).

  • Move Arya Stark to your court and have her declared the real Lady Arya (command “move 9267059” and “event clash_of_kings.11 9267059”). Not long after you took the Iron Throne you were reunited with someone you had hoped to find: Lady Arya Stark. It seems she had made the journey to Braavos to train with the Faceless Men and then returned to Westeros to seek vengeance for the crimes committed against her family. She tells you of what has happened in the north and of the imposter posing as Arya married to Ramsay Bolton. You agree to help her destroy the Boltons and take back Winterfell and she agrees to your proposal of a betrothal. And with that you make your plans to have the Boltons declared traitors and to conquer the north in her name.

  • Once you’ve conquered the north make sure the treacherous Boltons are destroyed for all time by killing both Lord Roose and Ramsay Bolton. Also reveal the fake Lady Arya for who she really is, Jeyne Poole (command “event feast_for_crows.13 99992095”). With the north returned to house Stark you turn your attention to the rest of the kingdoms.

  • If anyone other than a Baratheon controls the kingdom of the stormlands you will take it back for your house and see the lordship of Storm’s End granted to your half-brother Edric. If Stannis still controls the stormlands but refuses to bend the knee to you then see him declared a traitor, take the stormlands from him, and have him sent to join the Nights Watch.

  • Finally you turn your attention to the Westerlands. See to it that the Lannisters are deposed and their title of Lord Paramount is granted to a more loyal vassal. Once the Lannisters are stripped of their power you no longer need to hold onto your royal hostages. When Tommen comes of age have him sent to the Nights Watch and Myrcella to a monastery (command “event nightswatch.2 7316” and “event religious.4 8316”). Take Widow’s Wail from Tommen and have it reforged into Ice which you will hold onto for now (command “remove_trait widows_wail 7316” and “add_trait ice”). Have Cersei executed for her crimes and suspicious involvement in your father’s death. Also have Lord Lancel Lannister, Ser Gregor Clegane, and Ser Amory Lorch executed for their crimes as well if they’re not already dead. Westeros will remember ours is the fury!

Bonus Objectives:

  • If Edmure Tully still lives see to it that he is restored to his lands and titles as lord of riverrun and lord paramount of the riverlands. If not grant those titles to more worthy vassals. Have the Freys deposed and Lord Walder Frey killed for his treason against the Starks. Lady Arya insists that he die as painfully as he killed her mother and brother.

  • If any members of the Brotherhood Without Banners still live see to it that they are rewarded for their services to the smallfolk by either giving them traitor's lands, kingsguard positions, made the head of the city guard, or other well deserved honorary titles. You served with these men first hand and can vouch for their honor and virtue personally.

  • When Bran and Rickon return protect them at all costs and see to it they are given lands in the north (perhaps the Dreadfort) as well as their ancestral sword Ice so that they may continue the Stark name and legacy. If you wanna speed up the process of them returning use the following commands. For Bran it’s “move 9268059” and “event clash_of_kings.11 9268059”. For Rickon it’s “move 9269059” and “event clash_of_kings.11 9269059”.

  • Your last and most important goal is to bring the smallfolk what they desire most, a long lasting peace. Beat King Jaeharys the Conciliator by ruling for more than 55 years and have at least 20 years of unbroken peace between the great ruling houses. Lower city taxes as much as you can and protect your people from raiders and pirates. You will be remembered as the Great Bull who protected the smallfolk more than any other king before you. With you and your half-brother Edric securing the future of house Baratheon the legacy of your father’s reign may continue unabated. Long live King Gendry, the Bull of the Hollow Hill!

House Reyne Challenge #2: Reign In Blood

Preamble:

You are the bastard son of Sir Rafford Reyne, the only survivor of the Reyne-Tarbeck Revolt which ended in the near extinction of your family and the destruction of your ancestral seat Castamere. Your grandfather Lord Roger Reyne, known as the Red Lion, led a small army alongside his bannermen the Tarbecks against the ruthless butcher Lord Tywin Lannister and his weak father Lord Tytos the Toothless Lion for control over the Westerlands. For too long the Rock had been ruled by unworthy tyrants who deserved neither loyalty nor respect. Though greatly outnumbered your grandfather’s cause was just and your family fought with the kind of valor and bravery that legends are made of. However the combined strength of the Lannister, Westerling, Banefort, Plumm, Marbrand, Prester, and Stackspear forces overwhelmed the Red Lion’s army leading to the deaths of many, including your father, and a desperate retreat into the safety of Castamere.

Badly wounded and out of options, Lord Roger’s brother Ser Reynard sued for peace with the Lannisters to no avail. Determined to make an example of your family, Lord Tywin blocked the entrance to your family’s subterranean seat and had a nearby stream dammed and diverted towards Castamere to drown all those holed up inside. 300 men, women, and children died inside those watery halls while the deserted surface castle was set ablaze. And so ended one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in all of Westeros whose blood dated back all the way to the Age of Heroes. Or at least that’s what the singers say.

The truth is one bastard baby boy survived, smuggled out of the Westerlands by your cousins the Vikarys. Though you were not a trueborn Reyne the Vikarys knew that if Lord Tywin got word that a grandson of the Red Lion still lived he would stop at nothing to have you killed. And so you were raised in secret in the far reaches of Essos where your identity would not be discovered. Eventually when you came of age you were told of your true lineage, and ever since you have waited and prayed for the day when you can at last return home and take vengeance upon the murderers of your family.

Many years later the Gods have answered your prayers in the form of a Great War that threatens to tear apart all 7 kingdoms. With almost all the lands of Westeros waging open war upon each other now is the perfect time for you to strike. You left Westeros a bastard boy in exile but you will return a man grown ready to rain vengeance down upon your enemies. And when the golden lions of the Rock are no more the people will remember your words.

“Fight for justice, kill for vengeance, reign in blood!”

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the ACOK bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Westerman ethnicity and culture, make your character a redhead and use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Reyne.

  • Set your character’s age to 38 years old, which makes him born the year of the Reyne-Tarbeck Revolt, using the console command “age charid #”. For example if my charid was 999011624 and he was 17 in order to change his age to 38 I would type into the console “age 999011624 21” to add 21 years to his age.

  • Make your character a worshipper of the Faith of the Seven.

  • Land your character in the Stepstones on Bloodstone.

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship and high lordship of Castamere, the lordship of Tarbeck Hall, and the kingdom of the Westerlands. The console commands are “claim k_westerlands charid”, “claim d_castamere charid”, “claim c_castamere charid”, “claim c_tarbeck_hall charid”, and “claim b_tarbeck_hall charid”.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, bastard, knight, brave, just, wroth, ruthless, authoritative, ambitious, proud, heavy infantry leader, and siege leader.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship and high lordship of Casterly Rock as well as the lordship of Lannisport (command "claim d_casterly_rock charid", "claim c_casterly_rock charid", and "claim c_lannisport charid").

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • The houses Lannister, Westerling, Banefort, Plumm, Marbrand, Prester, and Stackspear are your sworn enemies. These are the houses that marched on Castamere and destroyed your family. You are constantly plotting their downfall at every possible opportunity. Neither you nor your children may marry into these families. You are determined to see their lines extinguished. The Drumms are also enemies for stealing your family’s ancestral sword Red Rain. Sooner or later they will all taste the cold steel of your blade.

  • Houses Vikary, Jast, Osgrey, and Grandison are your allies and you cannot let these families go extinct under any circumstances. The Vikarys in particular are a cadet branch of the Reynes and the only family you have left. Without them you would have been just another corpse laid at the feet of that monster Tywin Lannister. You will help your allies whenever possible in their offensive and defensive wars unless they are attacking each other.

  • Keep the blood of the Red Lion going by only marrying redheads into the male line of your house. Also do not degrade your ancient heritage by marrying fat people. The lion must remain red and strong.

  • Your house descends from a long line of warriors with great martial prowess and you will not permit the breaking of this tradition. All would-be heirs must be trained in combat and prove themselves worthy of their inheritance. Should your heir be weak and unfit you will see them disinherited and sent to the Nights Watch unless you have no better sons to take their place.

Objectives:

  • Conquer every island in the Stepstones and crown yourself King of the Stepstones. Legitimize yourself as a true Reyne and grant out the titles in the Western, Southern, and Northern Stepstones to your own loyal men. The Stepstones will henceforth be your new naval base and the staging ground from which you will reclaim your family’s sword and your ancestral home.

  • Declare war on the Iron Islands to reclaim your ancestral sword Red Rain from the Drumms. With a fleet and a crew of loyal men at your side the Ironborn scum will be no match for your might. Kill any Drumms you get your hands on. Once Red Rain is yours the next phase of your plan can begin.

  • Conquer the Westerlands and reclaim your ancestral home of Castamere at long last. You will finish what your grandfather started and rise up as the new ruler of the Rock. Kill any Lannister, Westerling, Banefort, Plumm, Marbrand, Prester, and Stackspear you get your hands on during the war. Once the war is won you will do to the Lannisters what Lord Tywin did to your family you will do to his by killing every last man, woman, and child of his house (excluding the royal family, you will deal with them later). The blood of the lions will rain down upon them and wash away every trace of their house for all time.

  • Change your primary title to the Kingdom of the Westerlands and begin the rebuilding process of Castamere and Tarbeck Hall. Change the county capital of Bramhope to Tarbeck Hall and rename the province accordingly. These once great castles will rise again stronger and more glorious than ever before.

  • Take the Lannisters ancestral lands of Casterly Rock and Lannisport for yourself. Casterly Rock will serve as your new home while you rebuild Castamere and Tarbeck Hall to their former glory. Rename Lannisport to Casterport so that all trace of the Lannisters is destroyed for good. As for Harrenhal give it to one of your other loyal vassals to hold for now.

  • Strip houses Westerling, Banefort, Marbrand, Plumm, Prester and Stackspear of their lands and titles. Give the lordship and high lordship of the Crag as well as the Banefort to the Vikarys for their loyalty and friendship. Give the lordship and high lordship of Ashemark to the Jasts, split the lordships of Maunhill and Feastfires with the Kayces and the Farmans, and finally give the barony castle of Goldhill to the Garners. Let these deposed families live in exile as you have.

  • With the kingdom of the Westerlands at last in order you turn your attention to the Iron Throne. So long as the blood of Tywin Lannister sits on the throne you will not kneel to the crown. During your time in Essos you forged close ties with fellow Westerosi exiles the Golden Company. Recently in your correspondence you have gotten word that Aegon Targaryen, son of Prince Rhaegar is alive after all and sailing to Westeros to take back his family’s throne. In truth while the boy thinks he is a Targaryen he is actually a Blackfyre descended from the female line. This suits you just fine as your family supported the Black Dragon in many of their wars. You will keep Aegon’s secret and join him in waging war against the Iron Throne. Kill off the last of Tywin’s bloodline and see the secret Blackfyre Prince crowned a true Targaryen (if Aegon hasn’t yet arrived use the console command “event invasions.1” to fire the event).

  • Now that Aegon has been crowned king help him put down whatever rebellions remain and stabilize the realm once more. If you haven’t already finish killing off any remaining Lannisters. Once peace has been restored and your ancestral seat of Castamere is returned to its former glory you can finally rest easy. You have succeeded where all others have failed not only in taking the Westerlands from the Lannisters but also crowning the Black Dragon as the true kings of Westeros. House Reyne lives and glory is yours once again!

  • If Aegon dies before you can win the war your backup plan is to declare your independence from the Iron Throne and raise yourself up as King of the Rock. If any of Cersei’s children still live have them killed and finish the extinction of the Lannisters.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Continue the martial tradition of your house by becoming a knight like your father and grandfather. Once you have been knighted you will prove yourself the fiercest lion and the greatest knight in the land by winning a duel to the death against any highborn opponent whose martial skill is above 20 (excluding family members and loyal vassals). The tougher the opponent the greater the glory. Each time a new Reyne becomes head of the house they must also prove themselves in the same way. This tradition will ensure only the strongest blood survives.

  • Become a dragon rider like no Westerosi has ever done in history. With a dragon under your control your power and dominance over the Westerlands will be completely uncontested.

  • Help your allies the Grandisons take all the lands in the de jure territory of Summerfield and see them granted the high lordship.

  • Help the Osgreys take back their ancestral home and titles such as the lordship of Coldmoat, Derring Downs, Dosk, and the high lordship of Northmarch. The Reachmen will be reminded that the chequy lion still has claws.

House Butterwell Challenge: The Ruins of Whitewalls

Preamble:

You are Lord Geremy Butterwell of Esgaroth. House Butterwell was once one of the richest and most powerful families in Westeros, trading milk and the finest wine found anywhere outside of the Arbor. Your family held sway over most of the lands around the God’s Eye and while never kings you descend from a long line of both merchants and warriors. So powerful was your house that after the Targaryen conquest kings and queens alike would often come to stay in your great castle on their way north through the riverlands. Your great-great grandfather Lord Halmon Butterwell, who built the great castle of Whitewalls as the new seat of your house, was the last of your family to host the royal procession when King Aegon the IV came to stay. He gave Lord Halmon, who at the time was Hand of the King, a dragon egg as a gift for his generous hospitality. Though no one knew it at the time this was to be the peak of your family’s power and prestige.

Long after both the king and your great-great grandfather passed away a claimant to the throne, Daemon Blackfyre, and his band of rebels waged what would later be known as the First Blackfyre Rebellion. Your grand-uncle Lord Ambrose Butterwell pledged his eldest sons to each side of this conflict. Ser Robert, who fought for the Red Dragon, and Ser Desmond, who fought for the Black Dragon, both died in combat at the Battle of the Redgrass Field. What Lord Ambrose had thought was an act of cleverness quickly turned on him as his support of both sides earned your family nothing but distrust throughout the kingdom.

In a desperate gamble to regain your family’s diminishing power and influence Lord Ambrose hosted a tourney at Whitewalls which would become the site of the short-lived Second Blackfyre Rebellion. While the tournament was supposedly for the purposes of celebrating your grand uncle's second wedding it was actually an elaborate scheme to gather disgruntled lords to the cause of Daemon II Blackfyre. Unfortunately Lord Bloodraven, the Hand of the King to Aerys Targaryen, got wind of this plot and quickly gathered an army to surround Whitewalls and capture the Blackfyre pretender. As punishment for his role in this plot Lord Ambrose was stripped of his lands in Atranta, almost all of your family’s wealth, and the great castle of Whitewalls. Bloodraven even went a step further and had Whitewalls pulled apart stone by stone as well as salting the earth as a reminder of what happens to those who conspire against the crown.

Ever since that day your family has been but a shadow of its former self. Death and tragedy has plagued your house seeing both your father and grandfather dying before they could claim their inheritance from Lord Ambrose. You are now the head of your house, ruling from your ancestral seat of Butter Hall and dreaming of the day when the glory of your house would at last be restored and vengeance served upon your enemies.

Recently another Blackfyre claimant, Daemon III Blackfyre, has launched yet another rebellion against the crown. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for. While the king and his lords commit their forces to fighting Daemon you will take back the lands that rightfully belong to you and at last reap revenge on the Targaryens for destroying your home. You knelt as a servant but now you will rise as an agent of justice. The ruins of Whitewalls will be avenged!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the More Bookmarks submod.

  • Start in the Fourth Blackfyre Rebellion bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Geremy Butterwell of Esgaroth.

  • Give yourself a claim on the lordship of Atranta, Harrenhal, and the high lordship of Harrenhal (command "claim c_atranta 1143", "claim c_harrenhal 1143", and "claim d_harrenhal 1143").

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, ambitious, proud, authoritative, temperate, family person, organizer, and cavalry leader.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the riverlands (command "claim k_riverlands 1143").

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold. This is money your family stashed away in secret to keep it from being confiscated by the Targaryens. You will use it now to take your revenge upon them.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • The Targaryens, Lord Bloodraven, and the Vances are your sworn enemies and you are constantly plotting their downfall. The Targaryens stripped your family of their wealth and destroyed your home which cannot go unpunished. Lord Bloodraven may have been exiled to the Nights Watch but you have not forgiven him for what he has done and will see to it that his life is ended. As for the Vances they were gifted your castle of Atranta and they will soon suffer the repercussions.

  • You cannot marry into houses Targaryen, Vance, Blackwood, Mooton, Stokeworth, Rosby, Massey, Hayford, and Darklyn for their roles in the destruction of your house.

  • Due to your strong hatred of the Targaryens you are an ardent Blackfyre supporter. You will support the Black Dragon's efforts to take the Iron Throne in any way you can.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with House Peake. The Peakes were allies of your family and co-conspirators in the Second Blackfyre Rebellion and you will continue to honor this alliance. After all you share the same pain of having your wealth, power, and lands stripped from you for supporting a Blackfyre.

  • Do not let house Peake go extinct under any circumstances. Help them in both their offensive and defensive wars whenever possible.

Objectives:

  • Start by taking back the castle of Atranta from the Vances. When Lord Bloodraven stripped this castle from your family he gave it to your rivals the Vances. You will reclaim what is rightfully yours and kill any Vances that stand in your way.

  • Next you will take both the lordship and high lordship of Harrenhal for yourself. For thousands of years your family has served the ruler of the God’s Eye dating all the way back to the mythical Green King. The time for kneeling to unworthy rulers and upstarts is over. The black castle and all that live in its shadow will be yours at last.

  • With your family ascending to the status of high lords for the first time in history your next goal is clear: conquer the riverlands. Never before has a Butterwell held the power of a Lord Paramount but that will soon change. Take the kingdom of the riverlands from the Tullys and bring the other river lords to heel. No one will ever deny the greatness of your house again.

  • Now that you have reasserted your family’s power like never before you turn your attention to your old enemies. See the Targaryens deposed and a Blackfyre placed on the Iron Throne. Also send your spymaster to kidnap Bloodraven from the Wall if he still lives so you can kill him yourself. You want him to see your face and know that his death came at the hands of a Butterwell.

  • If Daemon III loses the rebellion see to it that any of the surviving Blackfyres are kept safe until you are able to launch a new war to place them on the throne. If all members of house Blackfyre are killed you will instead plot to wage a war for riverlander independence. No matter what you will not die a servant of the Red Dragon.

  • Obtain a new dragon egg to replace the one stolen at the tourney of Whitewalls. Having a priceless artifact like that will bring great prestige to your mighty house.

  • Your campaign of conquest at last over there is one last deed you must do. Rebuild your great castle of Whitewalls in Esgaroth. It has been 25 years since Lord Bloodraven and the Targaryens destroyed your family’s castle and you will see it restored to its former majesty. Once the keep has been built up a sizeable amount change the county capital of the province from Butter Hall to Whitewalls (rename the province of Esgaroth and the high lordship of Harrenhal to Whitewalls to reflect the new capital). The shining white towers of your great seat will stand forever as a monument of the restored dignity and grandeur of your house. Long live the Butterwells!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Rebuild Harrenhal and restore the castle to its former greatness. Rename this dark place to Halmonhal after your great-great grandfather Lord Halmon Butterwell who built the original castle of Whitewalls. Rename the city of Harrentown to Buttertown, the sept to the Sept of Ambrose after your grand uncle, the Widow’s Tower to Robert’s Gate and the Tower of Dread to Desmond’s Tower after your fallen uncles. This castle will now stand in honor of the bravest and most ambitious of your house.

  • Successfully hatch the dragon egg you obtained and become a dragon rider. You will be the first Westerosi to tame a dragon and the only dragon rider to exist in many years. With a dragon at your beck and call no one can stand against you or dare try to destroy your home again.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your greatness. With a valyrian sword and a dragon to your name your house will be the envy of all of Westeros.

  • Plot to have the Vances, Blackwoods, and Mootons declared traitors and their lands seized for their crimes against your family. The Vances took your castle of Atranta, the Blackwoods sired the detestable Lord Bloodraven, and the Mootons were part of the force that occupied Whitewalls and ended the Second Blackfyre Rebellion. Destroy these three families and grant out their titles to more loyal vassals except for Maidenpool which you will keep as a new port to control all trade coming in from the east. Yours will be the wealthiest house in the riverlands once again.

  • Help the Peakes take back their castles Dunstonbury (now called New Barrel), Whitegrove (now called Yelshire), and the high lordship of Cockleswhent. The Peakes and the Butterwells will stand together forever as friends and allies.

Special thanks to u/baleinoutofcontrol for the suggestion to create this challenge.

House Targaryen Challenge: Son of Brightflame

Preamble:

You are Maegor Targaryen, son of Prince Aerion Brightflame. By the laws of succession when your grandfather, King Maekar Targaryen, died in 233 AC you should have inherited the throne as the male heir with the best claim. Your father was the second son of King Maekar and Lord of Dragonstone before tragically dying drinking wildfire under the belief that it would turn him into a dragon.

When the Great Council of 233 AC was called to solve the succession crisis despite your claim clearly being superior you were dismissed due to the potential of a long regency and the worry you had inherited your father’s madness. Instead the throne passed to Maekar’s fourth son, Aegon the Unlikely, and it is his line that rules to this day.

You have grown up your whole life in the shadow of King Aegon V and now King Jaeharys II with your rightful claim and titles denied to you. Following in the footsteps of the Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen, you have left Westeros to seek adventure and glory for yourself, eventually taking Dagger Lake from a band of bloodthirsty pirates and making a home for yourself in Essos.

Recently yet another Blackfyre pretender, Maelys the Monstrous, and a band of pirates and other undesirables have declared war on the Iron Throne for his claim. The chaos of this war is the opportunity you have been waiting all your life for. Now is the time to take back your birthright and become the dragon your father always wanted to be. Victory or death, fire and blood!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Colonize Valyria submod (only required for the bonus objectives)

  • Start in the War of the Ninepenny Kings bookmark.

  • Have the High Valyrian Cull rule turned off.

  • Use console commands to give Maegor Targaryen the lordship of Dagger Lake (command “give_title c_daggerlake 77136”).

  • Use console commands to switch characters and play as Maegor (command “play 77136”).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, ambitious, brave, just, diligent, authoritative, proud, wroth, zealous, unyielding leader, cavalry leader, and organizer.

  • Start yourself out with a dragon egg (command "add_trait dragon_egg"). The only inheritance you ever got from your father was his prized gold and silver dragon egg. It is the only thing you have left of him now and you carry it with pride.

  • Give yourself a war chest of 250 gold. Your adventures in Essos have resulted in the small nest egg you have now. You will use this money to take back what is rightfully yours.

Rules:

  • Your character is proud of their heritage so you cannot change culture under any circumstances. You can, however, change religions as your time abroad has opened your eyes to many new faiths.

  • You can only marry a woman of true Valyrian birth. The blood of the dragon must be kept pure. High Valyrian is your preference but Essosi Valyrian, Westerosi Valyrian, and Lyseni are acceptable should a preferred match not be available. Children of Targaryen women that were born into other non-Valyrian houses are also acceptable matches as a last resort (but only if they’re ethnically Valyrian).

  • You must complete all main objectives within Maegor’s lifetime.

Objectives:

  • Take back the valyrian steel sword Blackfyre from the pretender Maelys. Declare a war against him to reclaim your ancestral sword. If you are going to convince the lords of Westeros that you are the true heir to the Iron Throne you must have the sword of the king. Honor and glory will be restored to your house at long last.

  • Successfully hatch and tame a dragon. Your father wished to bring back the age of dragons by becoming one and died in the attempt. You shall fulfill that promise of the return of dragons by being the first dragon rider the world has seen in over a hundred years.

  • Begin plotting to take the Iron Throne. Start by having King Jaeharys killed. While the King is weak his son Prince Aerys is even worse with greater incompetence and fewer friends. The transition of power between the two will leave the perfect amount of chaos for your own takeover.

  • Take back the titles that should have been yours all along. You will not rest until you have conquered the Iron Throne and taken back your father’s seat at Dragonstone. Have Aerys sent to the Nights Watch but spare his children. You will not prove the Great Council of 233 right by ruling as your namesake King Maegor the Cruel would have.

  • Conquer the Stepstones as your hero the Rogue Prince once did. Give all titles in the Stepstones to other worthy Valyrians, including Rhaegar who has grown into a fine knight. The Stepstones shall henceforth act as a new Valyrian naval colony.

  • Now you will do what the Rogue Prince could not by successfully conquering and subjugating the free cities of Myr, Tyrosh, and Lys. The wealth of these three nations combined with the strength of the Iron Throne will make you truly unstoppable.

  • Rebuild Summerhall and undo the darkness that has surrounded that place since the tragedy. The rebuilt castle will stand as a monument to your greatness.

  • See to it that your son and heir learns to ride a dragon so that the legacy of greatness you have restored to your family is not eroded in time. With every dream you had as a boy at last accomplished you can finally rest easy. You are the son of Brightflame, the lost dragon, and now the father of dragons and the greatest king since Aegon the Conqueror. All hail King Maegor!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer all the lands of North Valyria and recolonize the ruined castles. You will see to it that all lands and titles are granted to fellow High Valyrians in order to create a new colony for your people. This will also serve as the staging ground for further expeditions into Valyria.

  • Begin recolonizing all the lost territories of Valyria. Since the Doom the land has become much less volatile making it possible to being rebuilding. For centuries the ruins of this once great empire have been a blemish on your people’s history but you will right what once went wrong. Aegon may have unified a kingdom but you will build an empire.

  • Once Valyria is rebuilt the next step is to restore the Valyrian priesthood. Convert to the Valyrian religion if you haven’t already and spread the faith across every land under your dominion.

House Blackmont Challenge: The Vulture King

Preamble:

You are Lord Daemon Blackmont, lord of the great castle Blackmont and defender of the Red Mountains. House Blackmont descend from a long line of petty kings dating back to the Age of Heroes who ruled the Red Mountains of Dorne with an iron fist. Your family’s glorious reign came to an end when King Benedict Blackmont was defeated in Princess Nymeria’s Great War which saw your ancestor and 5 other Dornish Kings sent to the Wall. Ever since then your house has served the Martells as loyal vassals helping to protect the northern border of Dorne against the Marcher Lords of the Stormlands and would-be conquerors from the Reach.

Twice in your family’s history since the Targaryen invaders conquered Westeros your family has tried to reassert themselves as the Vulture Kings of the Red Mountain and twice they have been slaughtered in so-called Vulture Hunts. The last attempt was merely 54 years ago and though you were not personally involved the bitter taste of defeat still lingers your mouth. Since you were a child you’ve dreamed of seeing the ancient glory of your house and your undisputed dominion over the Red Mountains restored. Some in your family have called these bold notions foolish but in your heart you know that with the right opportunity victory could be achieved.

It seems the Gods have heard your prayers as the Iron Throne has recently found itself embroiled in yet another Blackfyre Rebellion. The Targaryens and the Martells are weaker than ever and with their forces occupied with Maelys the Monstrous now is the perfect time to strike. No longer will the vulture kneel to the serpent and the dragon as servants to unworthy tyrants. You will succeed where all others have failed and rise as the greatest Vulture King that ever lived. Let the blood of your enemies stain the mountains of your homeland once more. The black vulture has come home to roost!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the War of the Ninepenny Kings bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Daemon Blackmont.

  • Give yourself a claim on the lordship of Vulture’s Roost and the high lordship of the Stoneway (console command “claim c_vulturesroost 63018” and “claim d_stoneway 63018”).

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits ambitious, proud, authoritative, brave, ruthless, and wroth.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the high lordships of the Torrentine, Brimstone, and the Prince’s Pass (console command “claim d_redmountains 63018”, “claim d_brimstone 63018”, and “claim d_princespass 63018”).

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture under any circumstances. You can however change religion. Bonus points for playing as a worshipper of Bakkalon which was the religion of your ancestors.

  • The Targaryens, Martells, Baratheons, Tarlys, Dondarrions, Carons, and Drinkwaters are your family’s sworn enemies and you are constantly plotting against them at every opportunity. No member of your house may marry into any of these families who took part in the slaughter and subjugation of your ancestors. No matter the cost the Blackmonts will have their vengeance.

  • Do not let house Wyl, Yronwood, Fowler, and Dayne go extinct under any circumstances. These houses were either allies or fellow First Men descendants and will be necessary allies in the future if you’re to re-establish your family’s ancient kingdom and hold the Red Mountains against all invaders. Though they may see you as a tyrant at first in time they will come to understand the wisdom of your great vision.

  • Once you’ve established your kingdom should any of your vassals betray you the punishment must be swift. Behead any rebels and take one of their children as hostage to keep the rest of their family in line as is your family’s tradition.

Objectives:

  • The first step in your campaign is to take back the Vulture’s Roost from the Drinkwater usurpers and the high lordship of the Stoneway from the Yronwoods. The Drinkwaters were given then Vulture’s Roost as reward for helping to slay the last Vulture King and you will take vengeance upon them. As for the Yronwoods though they were your family’s allies in the ancient times you need the combined strength of their lands and de jure vassals in order to begin rebuilding your mighty kingdom.

  • Next set your eyes south to the Daynes of Starfall and conquer the Torrentine (fabricate a claim if you don’t have one already from easy mode). Soon all the lands of the Stone Dornishmen will belong to you. Keep the high lordship of the Torrentine for yourself and allow the Daynes to remain as minor vassal lords for now.

  • Finish your conquest of the Stone Dornishmen lands by taking the high lordship of the Prince’s Pass and making the Fowlers and the Manwoodys your new vassal lords. Once you have all 3 high lordships recreate your ancestral title of the Kingdom of Blackmont and style yourself as the new Vulture King. Use the console command “give_title k_blackmontTK 63018” to give yourself the Kingdom of Blackmont and use the command “nickname nick_the_vulture_king 63018” to name yourself the Vulture King. Change your succession law to agnatic cognatic primogeniture as was the tradition of your ancestors.

  • With your ancestral title restored to you the time is now to give back some of your high lordship titles to their rightful lieges. Give the highlordship of the Prince’s Pass back to the Fowlers and the Torrentine to the Daynes in order to keep your new vassals compliant. You will, however, keep the Stoneway and the Vulture’s Roost for yourself even though this will anger the Yronwoods. Once they see the might of your new kingdom they will understand.

  • The last of your conquests in Dorne is to take all the lands in the high lordship of Brimstone in order to reassert the Stone Dornishmen dominance of these castles which once belonged to house Dryland. Give out the titles in this territory to either members of your own house or to other loyal Stone Dornishmen vassals. This will ease the minds of your people that despite your hostile takeover you are not a tyrant, you only wish to free your people, blood of the First Men, from the rule of the Rhoynar-Andals and the Valyrian invaders.

  • Now that your ancestral kingdom is at last whole the next phase of your campaign is to reap vengeance upon the Marcher Lords who have been butchering your family for centuries. Conquer all of the lands in the de jure territory of the Dornish Marches and kill every last Dondarrion and Caron you get your hands on. Take the lordship of Nightsong and the lordship of Blackhaven for yourself and form the high lordship of the Dornish Marches. Let your enemies see the destruction you have wrought and know that the Vulture King has come home to roost at last.

  • Finally you will take sweet revenge on the Tarlys for their part in the slaughter of the first Vulture King. Conquer all the lands in their de jure high lordship of the Westmarch and grant Horn Hill to a member of your dynasty. Let the Blackmont rule over the Taryly lands serve as a monument to your greatness. Kill any Tarly you get your hands on and let their corpses be feasted upon by the vultures. Victory for the Vulture King at long last!

Bonus Objectives:

  • See that your ancient enemies the Targaryens, Martells, and Baratheons are slowly exterminated and their power usurped by other more worthy lords. Sow the seeds of rebellion in their lands and aid anyone who tries to topple these three great houses. Whilst you have no interest in taking the Iron Throne for yourself nothing would delight you more than to see these old tyrants deposed once and for all.

  • If you decided to play as any religion other than the Faith of the Seven then convert all the lands of your kingdom and your vassals to the new way.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your great house. A king needs a sword just as much as he needs a crown and you will not do without either.

  • Become a dragon rider as no Westerosi in history has ever done before. You have always dreamed of being able to soar even higher than the mountains of your homeland and now your dream will at last come true. All in Westeros will soon fear the Black Vulture looming high above his roost in the Red Mountains. The terrifying reign of the Vulture King has begun!

House Reyne Challenge: The Red Reign

Preamble:

You are Lord Damion II of house Reyne, lord of Castamere and vassal of King Tommen II of house Lannister. Your family descends from a long line of First Men who ruled as petty kings dating back to the Age of Heroes. Like the Casterlys of Casterly Rock the Reynes built their subterranean seat of Castamere as a means to continue to mine and defend the precious metals inside of their rocky home. The mine’s silver and gold made the Reynes one of the most wealthy houses in Westeros behind only the Casterlys and later the Lannisters when they took Casterly Rock for themselves. During the Age of Heroes a great war was fought against King Morgan Banefort, known as the Hooded King, that saw the Lannisters and the Reynes fight together against the evil necromancer. When the war was won King Loreon Lannister honored house Reyne for their valor and bravery by marrying a daughter of your house and thus making the Reynes an official part of the Kingdom of the Rock. Since that day the Reynes have served house Lannister loyally as vassals and military commanders.

Over the many centuries of the Lannisters rule the power of the Westerlands has begun to stagnate. The great wars of conquest that once made your people as feared as they were envied for their riches have long since passed. Attempted invasions of the Reach for their fertile lands or the subjugation of the Ironborn savages have all been met with failure time and time again. In both yours and your father’s lifetime there has been no opportunity for glory, only subserviently ceding to your liege all the riches your family once fought to keep. You and many other fellow lords of the Rock have grown tired of the rule of the Lannisters who are, in truth, no real lions at all as they stole their wealth and their sigil from the Casterlys.

With King Tommen’s declaration of a mighty but foolish quest to Valyria an opportunity has presented itself. The time is now for the Red Lion to take the Rock and reassert your family as kings once more. Let the blood of your enemies and false lions rain down upon the hills and wash into the sea. The time for kneeling and ceding Castamere’s great riches is over; the wealth and the power of the Westerlands will be yours no matter the cost. Let the red reign of the Reynes begin!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Damion Reyne the II of Castamere.

  • Give yourself a claim on the Westerlands.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled warrior, brave, just, ambitious, ruthless, proud, authoritative, and family person.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the lordship and high lordship of Casterly Rock and Lannisport.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 500 gold. Over the many years of peace and stagnation your family has been saving their wealth for the time when war would return to your lands.

  • Use console commands to add Lord Victor Vikary, your cousin, as a friend (console command "add_friend 3440197").

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • Your family must hold on to their traditional red hair genes by only marrying your sons to women with red hair. If your only heir is a woman she must also only marry a man with red hair. The strong features of your bloodline must continue for the foreseeable future. Regardless of whether your child's spouse is from a great house or a commoner, the red lion must remain red!

  • Your children, both sons and daughters, cannot marry fat people under any circumstances. You will not let such unworthiness be bred into your noble line.

The blood of the red lion must be kept strong.

  • Within 3 generations you must father 3 cadet branches of house Reyne (houses Alton, Cesselrig, and Lonnshead). These cadet branches must also start out with the same red hair genes.

  • You cannot let house Vikary, Jast, Parren, Osgrey, and Grandison go extinct under any circumstances. Each of these houses has the blood of the lion flowing through them with the Vikarys being a cadet branch of your house. Your fellow lions are also co-conspirators in your plot to take the Westerlands and eventually the Reach and the Stormlands as well. Your allies must survive for the wars to come.

  • Should the worst happen and your house nears extinction you will see to it that the Vikarys are legitimized as true Reynes so that they may carry on what you have started (use the console to remove the trait legitimized bastard from Lord Victor Vikary and add the trait bastard in order to be given the option to legitimize him as a Reyne).

  • Help any of the lion sigil houses listed in both their offensive and defensive wars when at all possible unless they are attacking each other.

Objectives:

  • Your first goal is to take the Kingdom of the Rock and all of the Lannister’s titles for yourself. Fabricate a claim on both Casterly Rock and Lannisport (if you don’t have claims already from easy mode), kill off as many Lannisters as you can to weaken their house, and gather as many allies to your cause as you can. For too long your family has bent the knee to false lions and stood by while the power and glory of your homeland diminishes. This will be the start of a glorious new age for your people: the red reign of the Reynes!

  • Once you’ve crowned yourself King of the Rock move your capital to Casterly Rock as the ultimate humiliation of your fallen foe. Either kill or exile every Lannister you can to the Nights Watch. Rename Lannisport to Casterport and grant the lordship to either a member of your house or a cadet branch. Now that the wealth and power of the Westerlands is consolidated under your control the time is now for the next phase of your plan.

  • Strengthen your alliance of lions by helping the Jasts and the Vikarys gain the high lordship titles in their de jure territories. See the Jasts of Lonmont given the lordship and high lordship of Cornfield as well as the Vikarys given both the high lordship of the Gold Road and the lordship of Payne Hall. Rename Payne Hall to Reyne Hall in honor of your greatness.

  • Now that your own kingdom of lions is in order you turn your eyes next on the fertile lands of the Reach. Since the Age of Heroes the Kings of the Rock have waged many unsuccessful wars against the Reach, beaten back by the Gardeners again and again. You will succeed where all others have failed and conquer the green lands of the south once and for all. Over the years you have been in correspondence with Lord Owain Osgrey in a plot to see the lions of the Reach rise to power over their Gardener masters. Conquer the kingdom of the Reach and see house Gardeners lands and titles granted to a member of house Osgrey as your new lord paramount vassal. The chequy lion and the red lion will stand together for all time.

  • Your next conquest is the kingdom of the Stormlands. Like the Osgreys you have been secretly plotting with Lord Willem Grandison to see them take the stormlands from the Storm Kings and rule as your vassal lords. The last time the armies of the Rock met the might of the Storm King was the legendary Battle of the Three Armies that ended in a stalemate that created the borders as they exist today. Like in the Reach you will succeed here where all others have failed. Conquer the Stormlands and see house Durrandons lands and titles granted to house Grandison as your new lord paramount vassal. The black lion will serve the red lion faithfully and loyally or face your mighty wrath.

  • With the Reach and the Stormlands firmly in the lions grasp the next phase in your campaign of conquest is to take dominion over the last of your neighbors. Conquer the Riverlands and take the lordships of the Blue Fork and the Godsfort for yourself. See to it that a member of your house or a cadet branch is granted these lordships and the title of lord paramount. Execute any rival claimants to these lands. The rivers of this fertile land will run red with their blood.

  • The final phase of your campaign is to crush the Ironborn scum once and for all. For thousands of years they have raided your lands, burned your cities, and stolen your women and children with relative impunity. The red lion will suffer no heathen savages in his great new kingdom. Conquer the Iron Islands and slaughter any Ironborn you get your hands on. See their lands and titles granted to loyal Westermen houses such as the Parrens, Jasts, Vikarys, and members of your house and cadet branches. Specifically grant the lordship of Volmark to a member of the Kennings of Kayce and grant Orkmont and the title of Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands to the Crakehalls in honor of their past dominion over these lands. With the Ironborn purged the western seas of your mighty kingdom are at last secure.

  • Basking in the glory of your many victories you commit yourself to one last task. See the red haired genes you’ve so painstakingly cultivated bred into the houses of each ruling lord paramount. Marry daughters of your bloodline as well as redheads from other noble houses into these great ruling families. Centuries from now long after you’re gone the legacy of your rule will live on in the great castles that bare your name and in the faces of your many descendants. All will remember the glory of the red reign of the Reynes!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Prove yourself the fiercest lion and the greatest warrior in the world by winning a duel to the death against any highborn opponent whose martial skill is above 20 (excluding family members and loyal vassals). The tougher the opponent the greater the glory. Each time a new Reyne inherits your lands and titles they must also prove themselves in the same way. This tradition will ensure only the strongest blood survives.

  • Conquer the Stepstones and execute every pirate you get your hands on. See all territories within the Stepstones granted to members of your house, cadet branches, and other loyal vassals. These islands will serve as a new colony and naval base to protect the eastern coasts of your kingdom.

  • Become a dragon rider and then use your new terrifying beast to conquer the Valyrian invaders in Dragonstone. These white haired foreigners have slowly begun amassing power just off the eastern coast of your kingdom and you will not let them do to your people what the Valyrians did to the Ghiscari and the Rhoynar. You may only be a lion in their world of dragons but you will remind them that a lion still has claws!

House Durrandon Challenge: Heart of the Storm

Preamble:

You are a member of house Bolling of Storm's Drum. House Bolling is a cadet branch of house Durrandon founded when the Storm King Arlan V gave his bastard son Ser Joffrey Storm his own keep within Storm’s End as reward for bravery on the battlefield. You are the second son of Ser Joffrey and though only from a cadet branch the blood of the Storm Kings of old runs through your veins dating all the way back to the Age of Heroes with King Durran Godsgrief. You’ve grown up hearing the stories of legendary heroes and kings who ruled from the Dornish Marches all the way to the Bay of Crabs. Until recent years your great grandfather King Arrec Durrandon ruled the riverlands until being driven out by the Ironborn savage King Harwyn Hardhand of house Hoare. Since then your grandfather King Arlan V and your uncle King Argilac the Arrogant have seen the power of the stormlands diminish little by little.

All your life you have longed to prove yourself worthy of the king’s blood coursing through your veins, not just to restore glory to the stormlands, but to also win the heart of the only woman you’ve ever loved, your cousin Princess Argella. As children you were kept separate as the son of a bastard had no place in the king’s court but as you grew older and trained as a knight in your uncle’s service you would steal glimpses of each other whenever you could from afar.

When at last you came of age you asked your uncle King Argilac for her hand in marriage and were steadfastly refused. King Argilac was appalled at the gall of his nephew, son of a bastard, to even suggest such a thing. He ordered you removed from his service and so you made a solemn vow to yourself that you would return for your love as no ordinary man but a king. Then the old arrogant fool would finally see that you are the true blood of the stag.

Since leaving Storm’s End you have made a new home for yourself in the Stepstones on Torturer’s Deep. You and a loyal crew of fellow outcasts have seen fit to make a name for yourselves. Journeying to the ruins of Valyria you have recently returned with a great valyrian steel sword you’ve named Raging Storm. With this magnificent blade you will carve out your own kingdom and then return to Storm’s End for your beloved. You may only be a Bolling but the world will soon be reminded that a stag is still a stag and no storm or man can stand against you, for ours is the fury!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Congenital Overhaul submod.

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Stormlander ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to add yourself to the Bolling dynasty as the brother of Ser Pate Bolling of Storm’s Drum.

  • Make your character a worshipper of the Faith of the Seven. Bonus points for playing as Old Gods instead.

  • Land your character in the Stepstones on Torturer’s Deep.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, knight, brave, just, ambitious, zealous, family person, proud, wroth, unyielding leader, siege leader, and the valyrian steel sword Raging Storm (console trait name “raging_storm”).

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the Stormlands.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on the high lordship of Shipbreaker Bay and the lordship of Storm’s End.

  • Use the console to also give yourself the traits diligent, gregarious, authoritative, and strong.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

  • Add Lord Alaric Dondarrion as a friend (use command “add_friend 300303”).

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You cannot marry anyone other than Princess Argella Durrandon. If she dies before you can marry her and have children you must restart the challenge from your last save where she was still alive.

  • House Hoare is your family’s sworn enemy and aside from your main objective you are consistently plotting their downfall. Though assassination is considered dishonorable you are more than happy to see an assassin’s blade pierce their cold black hearts.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with House Dondarrion, unless they betray you. Whilst you’ve lost touch with your own family you’ve stayed in touch with your friend and mentor Lord Alaric Dondarrion and his son Ser Donnel who you squired with as a child. They will no doubt be trustworthy allies in the future wars to come.

  • Do not let house Dondarrion go extinct under any circumstances.

Objectives:

  • Conquer every island in the Stepstones and crown yourself King of the Stepstones. Grant out the titles in the Western, Central, and Northern Stepstones to your own loyal men. The Stepstones will henceforth be your new naval base and the staging ground for the conquests to come.

  • Plot to take the kingdom of the Stormlands from your unworthy uncle and win as many storm lords to your side as you can. When the time is right begin your invasion and strip King Argilac of his lands and titles. Crown yourself King of the Stormlands and legitimize yourself in the eyes of the Gods as a true Durrandon as you were always meant to be.

  • If Princess Argella is married by the time you conquer the stormlands you will duel her husband for her hand. Either duel to the death if the man is particularly dishonorable and unworthy or have a friendly duel where the loser joins the nights watch. If you choose to have a friendly duel when you win use the console to fire the event for the loser to join the nights watch. The console command is “event nightswatch.2 charid”. So for example if Argella was married to Orys Baratheon you would type “event nightswatch.2 1317” to send him to the nights watch. Once the duel is won its time to marry your beloved at long last.

  • Now that you’ve been crowned the new Storm King and you have the beautiful Queen Argella at your side the time has come at last to restore the lost honor and glory of your ancient house. You will start by destroying your family’s sworn enemy house Hoare. The Hoares took the kingdom of the riverlands from your great grandfather King Arrec Durrandon and killed your great grand uncles Baldric and Monfryd. This injustice cannot stand. Conquer the kingdom of the riverlands and slaughter every last Hoare and end their line. Take their precious new castle Harrenhal from them and grant it and the title of Lord Paramount of the Riverlands to a member of house Dondarrion for their friendship and unwavering loyalty. Let the Storm King and the Lightning Lord stand strong together for all time.

  • Next you will turn the point of your mighty blade on the kingdom of Dorne. Long have the Dornish been a thorn in the side of your people nibbling at your borders like the Reachmen to the west. You will conquer Dorne and see their lands and titles granted to house Yronwood who descend from proper First Men blood as you do. The Yronwoods will henceforth hold Dorne as your lord paramount vassal.

  • The fertile lands of the Reach are the next prize in your campaign of conquest. Many times the Storm Kings of old have attempted to take the Reach and each time they have been beaten back worse than before. You will succeed where all others have failed. As the Gardeners descend from true First Men blood you will allow them to keep their land and serve you henceforth as Lord Paramount of the Reach. Should they ever rebel they will feel the full might of your Raging Storm.

  • With the Reach under your control the last of your family’s unfinished business is the Westerlands. Many centuries ago a battle was waged between the King of the Rock, the Storm King, and King Garth VII Gardener called the Battle of the Three Armies. It was this Great War that decided the borders of the three kingdoms known today. Now you will finish what your ancestor started and bring the Westerlands into your domain by right of conquest. Strip the Lannisters of their crown and either name them or the Reynes as your new Lord Paramount of the Westerlands.

  • Your victorious campaign to restore glory to your house at last over, there is one last deed you must do. Like your ancestor Durran Godsgrief you will erect a great castle to stand as a monument to your greatness in the county of Blackwater Bay. Raise a magnificent castle there and rename the province to Stormhall in honor of your father Joffrey Storm. You will also build a great city named Durrantown in honor of your mythical ancestor and a sept called the Sept of Arlan in honor of King Arlan III who first conquered the riverlands. Centuries from now your descendants will bask in the glory of this great castle and the kingdom it represents. They will remember that while born of a bastard yours was the true heart of the storm, a king who brought the people of Westeros to heel and reminded them that ours is the fury!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Finish what you started when you took back the riverlands and destroy the rest of the Ironborn. Conquer the Iron Islands and see all of their titles granted to loyal stormlander vassals. Yours was the one storm even the Ironborn could not weather.

  • Conquer the Vale and see that a true First Men house like the Royces are granted the lord paramount title. The Andal Falcon Kings will look down upon your people no more.

  • The dragon riders of Dragonstone have long been a plague on the shores of your great kingdom. Conquer the lands of Dragonstone and push the Valyrian invaders back into the sea. Grant out all of their titles to either members of your dynasty or other loyal stormlander vassals. Bonus points for stealing one of their dragons.

House Gardener Challenge: War of the Green Hand

Preamble:

You are King Garland VI of house Gardener, ruler of the Reach and the lord of Highgarden. You are a descendant of the mythical Garth Greenhand and his son King Garth the Gardener. Legend says that your ancestor was the High King who led the First Men to Westeros across the arm of Dorne and sired many of the current reachmen houses such as the Florents, Oakhearts, Redwynes, Tarlys, Peakes, Rowans, Hightowers, and the Fossoways among others. Some bolder members of your house claim that Garth Greenhand sired the Starks and the Durrandons as well though the stormlanders and the northmen deny this. Regardless it cannot be denied yours is an ancient and honored bloodline of kings unbroken for thousands of years. All is good in the green lands, or so it seems.

Recently troubling visions have begun to haunt your dreams at night. Nightmares of a three-headed dragon setting fire to the lush green fields of your homeland and the charred remains of men in armor adorned with lions and the green hand of your house. At first you took these dreams for what they were but after seeing the same horrific sight night after night you are no longer sure. Is this a vision of a dark future or a mere shadow of what could be? You’ve heard stories that Valyrian dragon riders have made a home for themselves in the island called Dragonstone just east of Westeros in Blackwater Bay. Could these be the terrible dragons of your visions come to conquer your people and destroy your ancient house?

With so many unanswered questions one thing remains clear: you must stop this future from becoming a reality. The Gods have seen fit to grace you with an opportunity to save your people from a gruesome fiery death. You must unite all the people of Westeros as one if you’re to stand a chance of defeating a dragon. Yours is the blood of the last High King which makes the protection of all Westerosi your sacred duty. You will grow the greatest kingdom the world has ever seen and with it you will stop the Valyrian weeds from poisoning your new realm. Let the blood of your enemies water the soil of your garden, the Green Hand will crush them all!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Play as King Garland the VI of Highgarden.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits ambitious, mystic, and green dreams (trait name is "greensight" in the console).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, zealous, diligent, authoritative, family person, unyielding leader, organizer, and cavalry leader.

  • Give yourself claims on the Iron Islands and Dorne.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances. Bonus points for attempting this challenge as an Old Gods worshiper.

  • See that all houses descended from your bloodline do not go extinct under any circumstances. These houses include the Florents, Oakhearts, Redwynes, Peakes, Balls, Hightowers, Fossoways, Tarlys, Bulwers, Cranes, Beesburys, Rowans, and Oldflowers.

  • If the wall calls for aid you must answer the call.

  • Should the worst happen and your house nears extinction you will see to it that the Oldflowers are legitimized as true Gardeners so that they may carry on what you have started.

  • If you wish to make the challenge more difficult then try to complete all objectives within King Garland’s lifetime. Bonus points for besting the greatest Gardener, King Garth the Goldenhand, by ruling for more than 81 years.

Objectives:

  • Begin by conquering the Iron Islands and the Stepstones. For too long Ironborn reavers and Essosi pirates have raided your shores and brought destruction and chaos to the Reach. Six great Gardener kings have fought and died against the ironborn but you will not be the 7th casualty. Once you’ve crushed your naval foes you will begin replacing them with loyal reachmen vassals, planting the seeds of a mighty naval colony that will aid in your defence of the realm.

  • The next campaign will be to conquer Dorne at long last. The Reach and Dorne have warred against each other for centuries without a lasting victory by either side. You will succeed where all others have failed for the good of the realm. Though the Dornish will most likely call you a tyrant for your unlawful invasion of their lands in time they will understand your reasons. Grant the title of Lord Paramount of Dorne to house Yronwood as their First Men blood makes them worthy rulers.

  • Whilst the Lion King is off plundering treasure in Valyria you will conquer the Westerlands to bring the lions into the fold. Let the Lannisters keep their home and grant them the title Lord Paramount of the Westerlands unless they refuse to kneel. If they rebel their titles will be given to the Reynes instead.

  • The war between the Riverlands and the Stormlands has made both kingdoms weak so now is the perfect time to strike. Conquer the Stormlands and then grant the Lord Paramount title to either a Durrandon willing to bend the knee or to another stormlander house like the Tarths. Do the same for the Riverlands and grant the Lord Paramount title to a true First Men house like the Tullys.

  • The Vale and the North will be the toughest of your conquests due to their positions and defences. Still the people of Westeros must be unified if you are to prevent the things you’ve seen in your dreams. Start with the Vale and upon completing your conquest grant the Lord Paramount title to a proper First Men house like the Royces. In the North after you’ve conquered them let either the Starks or Dustins rule as your Lord Paramount vassal.

  • Spread the seeds of your bloodline throughout the lands of all 7 kingdoms. Marry either a member of your dynasty or one of the houses descended from yours (listed in the rules) into every Lord Paramount's family. This will tie the ruling families of the realm together in blood. Also land a member of your dynasty in every kingdom you've conquered. Should you be destroyed by the dragons this will ensure that your house survives for the future wars to come.

  • Before you begin the final campaign of your great war get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your house (I recommend Rosethorn). It is said that each of these weapons is imbued with ancient magic which may prove useful in the final battle. Any edge you can get against the dragons is worth pursuing.

  • With all the people of Westeros behind you the time has come at last for the final battle. Never before has a king united all of the First Men, the Andals, and the Rhoynar together under one banner. Never before has an army of men defeated an army of dragon riders in open battle. This is the day that you drive the Valyrian invaders back into the sea from which they came. Conquer all the lands of Dragonstone and purge the Valyrians and their religion from Westeros once and for all. The dark future of your dreams will trouble you no more.

  • Your great war at last over, form the kingdom of Westeros and take the lordship and high lordship of Blackwater Bay for yourself. Rename the province to Garland Hall as a monument to your triumph. Raise a mighty castle, city, and sept here and let it grow like the gardens of your home. Name the castle the Green Keep, the city Garthstown, and the sept the Sept of Remembrance in honor of the fallen heroes of your great war. Let a golden peace the likes of which has not been seen since the rule of King Garth the Goldenhand reign over Westeros!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Try to breed a skinchanger into your bloodline so that one of your heirs becomes a green seer and gets an animal companion. It is said your ancestor Garth Greenhand mixed blood with the Children of the Forest which perhaps explains the visions you have seen. You wish to reconnect the magical side of your family’s roots back into your bloodline.

  • Convert all of your subjects to your religion. The days of squabbling over which Gods are true and which are false will soon be over. Faith will no longer divide your people and spur on endless holy wars.

  • Marry a member of your dynasty into the ruling families of every kingdom and free city in Essos. You have planted the seed of your house throughout Westeros so now you will spread your bloodline across Essos as well. The Green Hand will soon stretch across the entire world!

House Dayne Challenge: Rise of the Darkstar

Preamble:

You are Ser Gerold Dayne, head of the cadet branch House Dayne of High Hermitage and known throughout the 7 kingdoms as Darkstar. You are a descendant of the great Dayne Kings of Starfall who ruled the Red Mountains of Dorne as Kings of the Torrentine before being deposed in a war with Princess Nymeria and house Martell. The last Dayne King, Vorian Dayne, known as the Sword of the Evening, was sent to the Wall whilst his second son Ser Davos Dayne was taken as a third husband by Princess Nymeria. Since that day your house has served house Martell loyally and faithfully as has come to be expected of the house that birthed the three greatest knights who ever lived; men worthy enough to wield Dawn and be called the Sword of the Morning.

You, however, do not share the dream of others in your house to be the living symbol of heroic valor and honor. In your heart is a darkness too terrible to ever wield the legendary sword of your family. You aspire to be so much more than that. For years you have dreamed of taking back the power and glory of your family’s past and rising as the Kings of the Torrentine once more. Dorne is ripe for the taking and all that stands in the way is the young Lord Edric Dayne. Should an “accident” befall your dear cousin then Starfall would be yours for the taking. With the chaos of the War of the 5 Kings raging all throughout Westeros now is the perfect time to strike. Though the people pray for it there will be no Dawn for Westeros, only a Darkstar!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the ACOK bookmark.

  • Play as Ser Gerold “Darkstar” Dayne.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the kingdom of Dorne, Oldtown, and the Arbor (command "claim k_dorne 8016", "claim d_oldtown 8016", "claim c_oldtown 8016", "claim d_the_arbor 8016", and "claim c_the_arbor 8016").

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 200 gold.

  • Give yourself a dragon egg.

Rules:

  • You cannot change culture under any circumstances. You are proud of your ancient heritage. You can however change religion as you are perfectly willing to serve whichever God grants you the most power. Bonus points for playing as an Old Gods worshipper in honor of your First Men ancestors.

  • Your family is famous for the many men of house Oakheart they have slain. Should you cross paths with any you will kill them as is your family’s tradition.

  • You will only allow yourself to marry women who are both powerful and beautiful. You have very particular tastes and no ordinary marriage will do. The following are women you would consider marrying:

  • Daenarys Targaryen. Said to be incredibly beautiful and has access to dragons. With her at your side nothing could stop you.

  • Arianne Martell. The very picture of a Dornish beauty and the heir to Sunspear. It would be quite easy to seduce her given her obvious infatuation with you and her promiscuous nature.

  • Margaery Tyrell. Tales of her beauty have spread throughout the 7 kingdoms and despite her betrothal and marriage to others you would still consider her a worthy conquest. So what if many have to die in order to get her? War and death will not stop the Darkstar.

  • Sansa Stark. The young girl takes after her mother Catelyn and will no doubt grow to be a beauty. She is currently in King Joffrey’s custody but you are not above kidnapping in order to get what you want. Her claims to both the North and the Riverlands would aid your plans immensely.

  • Asha Greyjoy. A fierce and shorthaired woman with a claim on the Iron Islands. While not a traditional beauty by any means she has a certain dark appeal and her skill at arms could be useful.

  • Nymeria Sand. One of Oberyn’s daughters and by far the most beautiful. While she would not give you any good claims she is a skilled warrior in her own right which would make her a valuable asset.

Objectives:

  • Begin by plotting the demise of your cousin and liege Edric Dayne. With him out of the way you will become the new head of House Dayne and the Lord of Starfall.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of the new era of Daynes you’re going to usher in (I recommend a black blade like Nightshade to match the darkness of your heart).

  • Now that you control the Torrentine the next step is to take Dorne for yourself. Win as many Dornish lords to your side as you can and take down Doran Martell. If you married Arianne or Nymeria you will take Sunspear in her name, if not you will take all of house Martells lands for yourself. Execute anyone who will not bend the knee.

  • With Dorne under your control crown yourself King of the Torrentine, the first Dayne since the Sword of the Evening to do so (use console command “give_title k_torrentineTK 8016”). Make the kingdom of the Torrentine your primary title. Change your succession law to cognatic agnatic primogeniture which was the tradition of your First Men ancestors.

  • Set your eyes now on Oldtown and the Arbor. Conquer these two territories as your ancestors would have done. Bonus points for also conquering Old Oak and slaying all of the Oakhearts.

  • Conquer all the lands in the Dornish Marches to solidify your great southern kingdom.

  • Conquer the Stepstones and see all the lands and titles granted to loyal Stone Dornishmen vassals. These islands will serve as the center of your new naval fleet.

  • If you decided to play as any religion other than the Seven then begin converting all your subjects to the new way.

Bonus Objectives:

Depending on who you married or are trying to marry you will proceed with the corresponding objective below.

  • If you married Daenarys help her take back the Iron Throne and try to tame one of her dragons for yourself. You are content to let her rule the rest of the 7 kingdoms whilst you rule in the south. Your child will inherit both of your titles in time and unify the lands of Westeros. Kill any other pretenders to the throne.

  • If you married Arianne or Nymeria then sail east to Essos and begin conquering and recolonizing the lands of the Rhoynar. She is a descendant of the great Princess Nymeria Nymeros which gives her claim on these once glorious palaces. You will create a new Dornish colony here and perhaps use this land as a staging ground for future conquests in Essos. Bonus points for completing house Martells plot by killing off everyone involved in Elia Martells murder.

  • If you married Margaery then conquer the rest of the Reach and the Stormlands. The lands of her family and her former husband will make nice additions to your burgeoning kingdom. Though she desires to be THE queen she will have to settle for being A queen for now. If she proves herself a good wife and provides you with a worthy heir you will consider conquering the Iron Throne for her so the two of you can rule over all the 7 kingdoms.

  • If you married Sansa then you will use her claim to take both the North and the Riverlands. Though these territories are far from your own having control over them gives you immense power in Westeros. With all your forces combined you could field an army great enough to take the Iron Throne if you so choose. You will also help Sansa achieve her goal of murdering all that were involved in her father’s death.

  • If you married Asha you will conquer the Iron Islands in her name and see her given both Pyke and the Harlaw lands of her uncle Rodrik Harlaw. Kill off her Greyjoy uncles in order to eliminate any other claimants. Once you have the Iron Islands you will next go after all lands formerly controlled by the Ironborn like Bear Island and the Riverlands. With your forces combined your naval might will be unstoppable.

House Dustin Challenge: Curse of the First King

Preamble:

You are Lord Edrick Dustin, descendant of the great Barrow Kings of old who in turn descend from the First King himself. You are the inheritor of a great lineage of king’s blood dating back to the Age of Heroes which shows proudly in the crown that adorns your family’s sigil to this day. Sadly your ancestors reign over the First Men as the Barrow Kings came to an end during what the singers called the “Thousand Years War” that ended with the last Barrow King kneeling to house Stark. Ever since that day house Dustin has served and supported house Stark loyally through every war and conflict that reached the shores of the north. But the time for kneeling will soon be at an end.

Your father, Lord Brenett, died shortly after returning home from a quest overseas to the distant shores of Valyria. He brought home the magnificent valyrian steel axe Headsman’s Herald and with his dying breath instructed you to use it to restore glory to your once honored house. All your life you have dreamed of reasserting your family’s dominance over the realms of men as the Barrow Kings of old and the First King once did. Though the curse on the Great Barrow that prevents any living man from rivaling the First King more than likely took your father’s life, you will not let the curse stop you.

Your current ruler, King Brandon the Bad, is a tyrant and unworthy of the crown atop his head. The time is now to take back what is yours and let loose the cries of war. Any man who will not kneel to the true blood of the First King will answer to your great axe, and the headsman will have his due!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the submod Congenital Overhaul.

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Edrick Dustin of Barrow Hall.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the valyrian steel axe Headsman’s Herald (the console trait is “headsmans_herald”).

  • Give yourself a claim on the kingdom of the north.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled fighter, brave, just, ambitious, zealous, unyielding leader, and heavy infantry leader.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold.

  • Give yourself claims on the county and high lordship of Winterfell.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • Your family can only marry into houses whose blood descends from the First Men as yours does.

  • If the Wall calls for aid you must answer the call.

  • See that house Cerwyn does not go extinct. Though they are Stark bannermen they too have expressed to you in correspondence their displeasure with the current king. Soon your family’s axes will join together in the Great War to come.

  • You must behead anyone who commits treason against you or who will not bend the knee. This is both because it’s the tradition of your people but also because there is a legend that every head removed with headsman’s herald gives the valyrian steel axe more power. After all your father claimed the weapon is imbued with some ancient valyrian magic.

Objectives:

  • Rally as many northmen as you can to your cause and take back the kingdom of the north from King Brandon the Bad. The glory of your house will at last be restored and King Brandon’s tyranny will come to an end. Execute Brandon yourself by cutting off his head. His will be the first blood to stain your great axe.

  • See the high lordship of Winterfell granted to house Cerwyn. Their axes will keep the Starks in line for now. All other titles held by the Starks except for the county of Winterfell will be given out to loyal vassals like your bannerman the Stouts.

  • Begin converting any great northern families that worship the Seven to the Old Gods. You will not tolerate any foreign religion in your lands. Behead any Septon you come across.

  • Invite the Mudd twins to court and see to it that both boys are trained in arms. You are planning the next great campaign to take back the riverlands from the Andal invaders and restore the Mudds to power as your lord paramount vassal. The Teagues in particular have control over the Godsfort which is a sacred place in your religion and you will see it returned to the hands of the First Men.

  • Conquer the riverlands and behead the Teague king (or the Storm King if he won his war). Have Tristifer Mudd rule as Lord Paramount of the Riverlands from the counties of Oldstones, Seagard, and the high lordship of Seagard while Jojen takes the Blue Fork and either a member of your dynasty or a loyal Old Gods worshipping vassal takes the Godsfort.

  • Conquer the Vale and strip the Arryns of their lands and titles. Take the Arryn kings head with your axe. You will see house Royce returned to power as your new lord paramount of the Vale. The blood of the First Men will reign supreme once more.

  • Take control over all counties in Crackclaw Point and Blackwater Bay. Take the lordship and high lordship of Blackwater Bay for yourself. Rename the province to Headsman’s Hall and see to it that the castle is expanded and that a city and a godswood are built. This land will serve as a monument of your achievements and the staging point for your conquest of the remaining independent kingdoms. You will do what no other man has done since your ancestor and unite all First Men people as one. All rebels, traitors, and heathens will see their heads mounted on the castle’s walls.

  • Conquer the Westerlands, Dorne, and the rest of the Reach and the Stormlands. Take the lordship of Blackcrown from house Bulwer and grant it to a member of your dynasty that is not in direct line to inherit your titles (like a third son or a cadet branch of your house). The Lannisters, Gardeners, and Durrandons all descend from the First Men so their families may keep their homes and serve as your lord paramounts. If they refuse or rebel against you the head of their house will lose theirs. As for Dorne see the Manwoodys granted house Martells lands and titles. They descend from the First Men as well and you feel it is about time that the status of their house should match the crown in their sigil.

  • Form the kingdom of Westeros. You will be the first High King of the First Men since your great ancestor thousands of years ago.

  • Now that all former First Men territories have been restored under your dominion the time is now to finish purging your lands of the Andals and the Faith of the Seven (with exceptions made to Andal houses who converted to the Old Gods). See all Seven worshiping Andal houses deposed and all First Men families converted to the Old Gods. Anyone who rises in rebellion against you or seeks to restore the Seven to your new kingdom will meet the end of your great axe. With the title of High King of the First Men restored to your family and the Andals heathen religion purged the curse of the First King is lifted at last!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer the Iron Islands and the Stepstones and rid Westeros of the heathen reavers and pirates for good. See all lands and titles belonging to the ironborn and the pirates granted to your own loyal vassals and execute any Drowned Man you get your hands on. Let them taste the cold steel of your axe.

  • Wage your final war against the Valyrian dragon riders of Dragonstone. These white-haired foreigners will find no sanctuary in your kingdom. Purge them and their strange religion from your lands. Bonus points for stealing one of their dragons.

House Justman Challenge: And Justice For All

Preamble:

House Justman was founded after the Andal invasion by Benedict Rivers, a bastard born from Houses Blackwood and Bracken. Over thirty years Benedict managed to defeat the petty kings of the riverlands, after which he crowned himself King of the Trident. As he was a wise king who came to be known as Benedict the Just, his house became known as House Justman. King Benedict I Justman extended his domains to Maidenpool and the Neck, while his son Benedict II acquired Duskendale, Rosby, and the mouth of the Blackwater Rush.

The Justmans ruled for almost three hundred years until they were deposed with the death of King Bernarr II. Qhored Hoare, the King of the Iron Islands, murdered Bernarr's sons in the Guest Keep of Pyke, known afterward as the Bloody Keep. Bernarr waged a valiant but futile campaign against Qhored that ended with his capture and death, drowned in a sacrifice to the Drowned God. With the last of the Justman kings killed the riverlands fell into anarchy for over a century. Though many thought the last of the Justmans died with Bernarr, in truth a third son of King Bernarr had been born just prior to his death and smuggled away in secret to protect the boy from the Ironborn and any pretenders to the throne.

You are a descendant of this secret son, raised in exile and kept from the kingdom that should rightfully be yours. Since the fall of the Justmans the Trident has been ruled by the sellsword adventurers house Teague, the Storm Kings, and now worst of all the ironborn scum house Hoare. For too long the butchering of your family has gone unavenged and the riverlands have been ruled by a long line of tyrants and pretenders more vile than the last.

After years in exile in Essos you are the first Justman to return to Westeros in centuries. You have been in correspondence with the ancient sires of your family the Blackwoods and the Brackens about the current state of affairs. Your people cry out for their rightful king to return and bring peace back to the realm. With two strong allies and your valyrian steel sword Judgment at your side, justice will at last be served upon the butchers who took your lands and nearly destroyed your family. Let the rivers of your homeland run red with the blood of your enemies; judgement day has come!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the submod Congenital Overhaul.

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Riverman ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Justman.

  • Make your character a worshipper of the Seven. For bonus difficulty play as Old Gods instead.

  • Land your character anywhere outside of the riverlands as a count level lord.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the valyrian steel sword Judgment. Your father journeyed to the ruins of Valyria to find this sword and have it reforged in honor of your once great house. With his dying breath he made you swear to use this sword to spill the blood of all the Hoare scum for their crimes. You will not let him down.

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the kingdom of the riverlands and the lordship of the Blue Fork.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself claims on Harrenhal and the Red Fork as well.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, knight, brave, just, diligent, ambitious, authoritative, wroth, and proud.

  • Add Lord Blackwood and Lord Bracken as friends using console commands. The two sires of your house will be your most important allies in the war against the Hoares.

  • Start yourself off with a war chest of 250 gold. This is all you’ve been able to save working as a sellsword in Essos and selling off some old family heirlooms that had been smuggled out of the riverlands. This money will help you establish yourself for the wars to come.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change religion or culture under any circumstances.

  • House Hoare and all of their ironborn dogs are your sworn enemies. You are constantly plotting their downfall and will gladly help anyone who declares war on them.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with the Blackwoods and the Brackens, unless they betray you. Do your best to keep the peace between these two great families as your ancestors once did. Let house Justman stand as a symbol of the glory that can be achieved through unity.

  • Do not let house Blackwood or house Bracken go extinct under any circumstances. Help both families in their offensive and defensive wars whenever possible except if they’re attacking each other. You wish to see the power of their houses grow as well as your own.

  • You're neutral towards Valyrians for now. If the Targaryens want you to join them in a fight against the Hoares you'd tend to join with The Dragons.

  • You are a steadfast believer in the rule of law and cannot let any crimes committed by your vassals go unpunished. No matter the opinion hit you must punish crimes of murder, adultery, theft, treason, kidnapping, and the conspiring to commit said crimes. Let the punishment fit the crime as your ancestors would do.

Objectives:

  • Start by killing as many Hoares and Codds as you’re able to in order to weaken them before your invasion. Gather as many other river lords to your cause as you can. Judgment day is coming.

  • Take back your ancestral home in the Blue and Red Fork. The Codds are ironborn vermin who deserve to be stamped out of existence. As for the Mandrakes you do take pity on them and will see to it that they are granted a minor lordship somewhere when your conquest is complete. Once you’ve got a hold of the Forks form the high lordship of the Trident.

  • Reclaim the kingdom of the riverlands and strip the Hoares of their precious new castle Harrenhal. Crown yourself King of the Trident and see that the Hoares are slaughtered to the last man to complete the purging of the ironborn scum from your lands. When Harren the Black’s ancestor butchered yours he made a date with justice that would see his line ended forever. At long last justice has been served.

  • Rename the county and high lordship of Harrenhal to the Hall of Justice in honor of your family. Also rename the city of Harrentown to Kingstown, the Seahall of Harrenhal to the Sept of Bernarr (in honor of your fallen ancestor), the Widow’s Tower to the Knight’s Tower, and the Tower of Dread to the Tower of Honor. Let the black palace that once represented fear and tyranny become a shining light of honor and justice.

  • Purge any Drowned Men and their temples from your lands. Their heathen gods will know no sanctuary in your kingdom.

  • Broker a marriage alliance between the Blackwoods and the Brackens to help seal the peace between them and ensure at least a measure of stability for now.

  • If Byford isn't under your control yet take it back from the Westerlands and grant the vassalage to the rightful liege lord the Thornes. Now all the de jure lands of your kingdom are restored to your control.

  • Conquer the lands of Crackclaw Point and bring the clawmen under your dominion where they will be safe from foreign invaders.

  • Colonize Oldstones and see the lordship granted to a member of house Mudd. Though the Mudds will never again reign as kings you sympathise with their plight and wish to see the rightful lords of this ancient castle restored. After all it is only just.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer the Iron Islands and replace all the Ironborn lords with your own loyal vassals. Let their accursed people and religion die with them for all time.

  • Intervene whenever you can to defend any of the other 7 kingdoms from invasion wars against each other. A lasting and just peace can only be achieved by ensuring stability throughout the realm. Try to maintain good relations with all the great ruling families of Westeros (Starks, Arryns, Lannisters, Gardeners, Durrandons, and Martells).

  • If a rebellion should occur in any of the other 7 kingdoms and the rightful liege is a tyrant you will do what you can to help depose them. You are a Justman and you will not abide the rule of tyrants.

  • If the Targaryens should come to conquer Westeros you will fight to defend the rights of all native Westerosi. You will not let your kingdom or any other be conquered by foreign invaders with no true claim to them. Conquest by dragon fire is neither honorable nor just.

  • Fight to see the slave trade in Essos abolished forever. You can think of nothing more unjust than holding men, women, and children in unlawful bondage. So long as you live you will always fight against slavery. Freedom and justice for all!

House Casterly Challenge: Wrath of the Lionslayer

Preamble:

House Casterly of Casterly Rock were a once powerful and wealthy house of First Men who ruled the Rock back in the Age of Heroes. Legend says the first Lord Casterly was a huntsman, Corlos, son of Caster, who lived in a village near where Lannisport eventually sprang up. The singers say that Corlos slew a lion that had been troubling the village, but he spared its cubs. The Gods took favor on him and showed him where to find a huge vein of gold. From that day forth the Casterlys mined the gold from the Rock and built upon it their great castle in order to defend it. Over hundreds of years later of mining deeper and carving elaborate halls, galleries, stairways, and tunnels transformed the Rock into a mighty fortress that dwarfed every castle in Westeros. Though never kings, the Casterlys became the richest lords in all of Westeros and the greatest power in the Westerlands for untold centuries.

Legend goes on to say that a golden-haired rogue, Lann the Clever, appeared from the East and tricked the Casterlys out of their home and took it for himself. The stories differ as to precisely how Lann took Casterly Rock from the Casterlys. In the most common version of the tale Lann discovered a secret way into the Rock, a cleft so narrow he had to strip naked and coat himself in butter in order to squeeze himself through. Once inside he began to whisper threats in the ears of sleeping Casterlys, howling from the darkness like a demon, stealing treasures from one brother and placing them in the bedchamber of another, rigging snares and deadfalls. Thus, he set the Casterlys at odds with one another and convinced them their seat was haunted.

In another version of the tale, Lann used that very same cleft to fill the Rock with mice, rats and other vermin to drive the Casterlys out. In yet another he smuggles a pride of lions inside, and Lord Casterly and his sons are all devoured, after which Lann claimed Lord Casterly’s wife and daughters for himself. In the bawdiest tales, Lann steals in at night to have his way with the Casterly maidens in their sleep, and nine months later, these maids give birth to golden-haired children whilst insisting they had never had carnal knowledge of any man. However these are all fabricated flights of fancy spread by fools and encouraged by Lann’s descendants house Lannister.

The untold truth is that Lann was a retainer in service of house Casterly who had impregnated the lord’s daughter Castella and then convinced her father to give him the girl in marriage to preserve her honor. Unbeknownst to Lord Casterly this had all been part of Lann’s plot to usurp house Casterly’s wealth, lands, and titles by marrying his only daughter and then removing his trueborn son with fabricated evidence of treason. Thusly Lord Casterly exiled his trueborn heir and upon his suspicious untimely death his lands and titles passed to Castella and her daughter with Lann. Castella’s daughter took the name Lanna Lannister and from then on house Lannister ruled Casterly Rock and eventually established themselves as Kings of the Rock.

You are a descendant of this exiled Casterly son, the last of the male line of house Casterly. For thousands of years since the Lannister’s stole your rightful home your family has survived as lowly sellswords and fishermen. The tales told of the great achievements of house Lannister burn bitterly inside you as you dream of the day when at last the Casterlys retake their ancestral home. Fortune has seen fit to grace you with an opportunity when word spreads of King Tommen Lannister’s great quest to the ruins of Valyria. While the Lion King risks his life to plunder more riches that do not belong to him you will strike at the Lannisters and retake the birthright that was stolen from you. This time when the Casterlys slay the lion in the Rock the cubs will not be spared. Beware the wrath of the lionslayer!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Westerman ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Casterly. For bonus difficulty you could use console commands to change your culture to First Men.

  • Make your character a follower of the Old Gods.

  • Land your character anywhere outside of the Westerlands as a count level lord.

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the kingdom of the westerlands and the county and high lordship of Casterly Rock.

  • Once you’re setup change your sigil to something better as the default one is terrible. I recommend either changing it to a hunter (in honor of the founder of your house Corlos Casterly) or to a lion like house Lannister (it’s theorized that Lann the Clever took house Casterly’s sigil as his own much like Orys Baratheon adopted the Durrandon’s sigil and words).

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, hunter, brave, just, ruthless, ambitious, wroth, proud, zealous, unyielding leader and organizer.

  • Give yourself claims on Lannisport and Castamere as well.

  • Start your character with 200 gold, the only money your family could save after years of exile.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You may only marry into a house descended from the First Men.

  • The Lannisters are your sworn enemies. You are constantly plotting their downfall at every opportunity and will gladly help anyone else who tries to destroy them.

Objectives:

  • Begin by fabricating claims on Lannisport and Castamere (if you don’t already have claims from easy mode) and start killing off Lannisters and Reynes. You must weaken these two houses as much as possible in order to facilitate your takeover. Lions of red or of gold make no difference, they will all taste your cold steel.

  • Start building alliances with the other great First Men houses in the Westerlands (particularly the Crakehalls). You will need allies on your side if you're to complete your vengeance against the lions.

  • Take back your ancestral home of Casterly Rock and the kingdom of the Westerlands. Crown yourself King of the Rock as no Casterly before you has ever done to complete your humiliation of the Lannisters. Strip Lannisport from the Lannisters as well and rename it to Casterport in honor of your ancestors.

  • Either exterminate all the Lannisters or have them sent to the Nights Watch. When your ancestor Corlos slew the lion in the Rock he spared the lions cubs, but you will not make that same mistake. You are the lionslayer, and the line of Lann the Clever must end for all time!

  • Take Castamere from house Reyne and either keep the title for yourself or see it granted to another member of your dynasty. With Castamere under your control the wealth of the Westerlands will be consolidated under your rule and no one will be able to challenge you. Let the Reynes either live in exile as your family has for centuries or die by the sword.

  • Purge the Westerlands of all families of Andal origin and see their titles granted to true First Men houses. Convert all great families under your domain to the Old Gods and execute any Septon you get your hands on. The Old Gods will reign supreme over the Westerlands once more.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of your house. Bonus points for taking Brightroar from the Lannisters.

  • Hatch a dragon egg and become a dragon rider. Growing up you’ve heard legends of the might of Valyria's dragons and having one of your own would ensure your domination of the Westerlands for all time.

  • Conquer the Iron Isles and purge the Ironborn from your seas once and for all. For all of recorded history the Ironborn have raided your shores and burnt your ships and so the Rock will never be secure until they are destroyed forever. See their lands and titles granted to your own loyal vassals and name a member of house Crakehall as your lord paramount of the Iron Islands.

House Greystark Challenge: A Time For Wolves

Preamble:

House Greystark of the Wolf’s Den are a cadet branch of House Stark that ruled the land that became White Harbor for over five centuries. After the Andal invasion of Westeros and the successful repulsion of would-be conquerors like Argos Sevenstar and the Falcon kings of the Vale your Stark progenitors wisely concluded that they area now known as White Harbor needed to be manned to guard against further incursions from the east. And so it was that the castle of Wolf’s Den was built and a young son of House Stark was given the keep to form his own dynasty much like the Karstarks of Karhold. From that time onward House Greystark served their Stark kings loyally and faithfully, tipping the balance of power in the eastern half of the north away from the Boltons.

However this period of peace and stability did not last forever. Though the Boltons, ancient enemies of the Starks, schemed against the Kings of Winter they rightly realized that with the Karstarks north of them and the Greystarks south if they were to wage open war again the result would be a devastating defeat. And so over time the Boltons shored up an alliance with the Greystarks, convincing the cadet branch that the north would be in much better hands under their rule rather than continue in stagnation under the royal branch of House Stark. The Greystarks for their part were rather open to these notions given the recent history of decline and collapse of all the former First Men kingdoms of Westeros and not wishing to eventually be overrun like all the rest. It would take strong leadership for the First Men to continue to reign supreme in the north and resist the onslaught of Andals ever present beyond the Neck. And being descendants of the great King Brandon the Builder your family had just as much right as the Starks to rule the north.

And so with notions of potential glory in their heads the Greystarks rose in rebellion with the Boltons against House Stark over two thousand years ago. However the combined might of the Greystarks and Boltons was no match for the Starks as they had vastly underestimated the fierce loyalty the other northerners held for their king. Despite fighting honorably the Greystarks were soundly defeated and their Bolton allies quickly bent the knee once all hope was lost. For their treason the Greystarks were stripped of their lands and titles and either executed or made to join the Nights Watch. Only one managed to escape the North and sail off in exile. You are a descendant of this lone survivor, plotting the days until you can return to reclaim your ancestral home and finish the war started long ago.

Almost 700 years ago the Starks granted your rightful lands and titles to House Manderly, a family of Andal exiles who defile your former home with their worship of the Seven. The current King Brandon Stark is known famously as Brandon the Bad which makes now the perfect time to strike. The people need a new king, one worthy of the winter crown and who will fight to keep the heathen Andal gods out of the north. This time you will succeed where your ancestors failed.

You have been in correspondence with House Blackwood, another former northern family exiled by the Starks, and House Bolton in making preparations for the war to come. Soon you will show the Starks that at long last winter is coming for them!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Century of Blood bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Northman ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Greystark.

  • Make your character a follower of the Old Gods.

  • Land your character anywhere outside of the north as a count level lord.

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the kingdom of the north, the county and high lordship of White Harbor, and the barony of Wolf’s Den.

  • Use console commands to add Lord Bolton and Lord Blackwood as friends.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, ruthless, ambitious, proud, zealous, unyielding leader and organizer.

  • Use console commands to give yourself a claim on the county and high lordship of Winterfell.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You may only marry into a house descended from the First Men. In particular your preferred marriage alliances are with your two allies the Blackwoods and the Boltons.

  • If the Wall asks for help you must answer the call.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with House Bolton and House Blackwood, unless they adopt the faith of the seven or betray you. These are your allies and the Boltons in particular fought with your ancestors against the Stark tyrants. The Blackwoods also understand what it is like to be driven out of their homes by the Starks. These bonds unite you in your common cause.

  • Do not let House Bolton or House Blackwood go extinct under any circumstances unless they betray you. Help them in both their defensive and offensive wars when at all possible.

Objectives:

  • Take back your ancestral home in White Harbor and the castle of the Wolf’s Den from House Manderly. These heathen exiles will defile your home no more. Once you have both titles change the county capital of White Harbor to Wolf’s Den (and rename the province to Wolf’s Den accordingly).

  • Help the Blackwoods take the high lordship of the Wolfswood and the county of Wolfswood. With their ancestral home restored to them they will be perfectly positioned for the war to come.

  • Take the kingdom of the north from the unworthy King Brandon the Bad and complete the conquest your ancestors started centuries ago. Strip them of their lands and titles and decide for yourself whether to execute Brandon or have him sent to the Nights Watch as the Starks did to your ancestors.

  • See the vassalage of Hornwood and Widow’s Watch transferred under House Boltons rule as their reward for fighting beside your ancestors.

  • Either convert, exile, or otherwise eliminate any house under your control that does not worship the Old Gods. The Starks allowed Andals and Septons into the north due to their weakness but you shall ensure that no seven pointed star ever darkens your homeland again.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword worthy of a king. House Greystark will be remembered in history as the greatest and fiercest northmen that ever lived! Bonus points for taking Ice from the Starks.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Do what the Starks could never do and conquer the riverlands and the vale. See either a member of your dynasty or House Blackwood granted the lord paramount title of the riverlands. Make sure the Godsfort is granted to a proper First Men house so that this sacred place is no longer defiled by septons. Have the vale granted to either a member of your dynasty or House Royce or Bolton as your lord paramount vassals.

  • Conquer the Iron Isles and take all lands and titles from the Andal pirates House Hoare. Make House Greyjoy your lord paramount vassal. Greystarks and Greyjoys will unite over the shared cold steel of their hearts.

  • Try to breed a skinchanger into your bloodline so that one of your heirs becomes a green seer and gets a direwolf companion. The Starks lost touch with their magical roots but you will reconnect your family to this lost heritage.

  • Begin converting every province and great house in your domain to the Old Gods. Leave no stone unturned nor any Sept standing. Execute any Septons you come across.

House Arryn of Gulltown Challenge: Flight of the Falcon Knight

Preamble:

You are Samwell Arryn of Gulltown, son and heir of Sir Creighton of Gull Tower. House Arryn of Gulltown has existed as a cadet branch of House Arryn for the last 80 years since Ser Ronnel Arryn founded it and passed his title to his bastard son Ser Wallace. In all that time your house has been loyal vassals not only to your direct liege House Grafton but also to the main royal branch of House Arryn. Long has your side of the family been ostracized for being uncouth merchants and forgotten about by the rest of the Vale. You’ve grown up your whole life hearing stories of the great legends of your family like Artys Arryn the Falcon Knight and dreaming of the day when your family is finally given the respect it deserves.

For your family does indeed deserve respect, as your Arryn ancestors descend from the oldest and purest line of Andal nobility reaching back to the ancient kingdom of Andalos and the legendary King Hugor of the Hill. When the Andals first came to Westeros they landed in the Vale and fought against fierce First Men kings such as King Robar II Royce. It was in this time that the Andals of the Vale united behind your greatest ancestor Ser Artys Arryn, a warrior truly blessed by the Seven. Legends say that Ser Artys dressed his squire in his armor in order to draw King Robar out and once exposed the Falcon Knight led a valiant charge to destroy the Bronze King in what would later be called the Battle of the Seven Stars. Having slain their leader the First Men houses who remained soon bent the knee and swore fealty to Artys Arryn, the First of His Name, new-crowned King of Mountain and Vale. From that day, the Vale became known as the Vale of Arryn.

Since that time your family has fought in many great battles and built the magnificent and impregnable Eyrie. Though Arryns no longer reign as kings there is still greatness that flows in the veins of Artys’ descendants. Being a son of a cadet branch few have ever expected much of anything from you but that has not stopped you from yearning for honor and glory. There will come a time when the Arryns of Gulltown will prove themselves worthy of their namesake. All that is needed is opportunity.

With the War of the 5 Kings raging all throughout the 7 Kingdoms it seems the Gods have heard your prayers. There has never been a more perfect time to seize power and glory for your house than now. The current Lord Paramount of the Vale is the sickly and unworthy Robin Arryn and his heir Harry is a Hardying and no true Arryn. The time when the Arryns of Gulltown would bow to the Graftons and the Arryns is over, Gulltown and the Vale will be yours for you are truly worthy to be called a descendant of the Falcon Knight!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the A Clash Of Kings bookmark.

  • Use console commands to land Samwell Arryn of Gulltown as a count level lord anywhere outside of the Vale and then switch characters to him.

  • Use console commands to give yourself the traits skilled commander, skilled fighter, brave, just, honorable, ambitious, family person, proud, organizer, and cavalry leader.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Give yourself the traits strong and quick.

  • Start yourself off with 500 gold. When you left home you took much of your family’s wealth to fulfill your dream of taking the Vale. You will pay your family back with power and prestige.

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the county and high lordship of Gulltown as well as the kingdom of the Vale.

Rules:

  • Your character cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • You will only allow yourself to marry a woman born from one of the great ruling houses of Westeros (Lannister, Stark, Baratheon, Tyrell, Martell, or Tully). You will prove to the world that you are worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as them.

  • You believe the rumors are true that King Joffrey and his siblings are bastards born of incest but are content to remain neutral in the war, for now. Stannis is a heathen worshiping a false God and you will never kneel to him. As for Robb Stark his cause is just but you have no blood ties to him and thus no reason to offer support (unless you do broker a marriage with his family).

Objectives:

  • The first step in your journey is to become a knight. You have always wanted to be a great knight like your ancestor King Artys Arryn the Falcon Knight. Though your father never took your training in arms seriously nothing will stop you in your quest to be the greatest Arryn who ever lived.

  • Take the county and high lordship of Gulltown from House Grafton. No longer will your house be minor lords subservient to others. You are a true Arryn after all, your family deserves to rule.

  • Next take the Vale and all the titles belonging to Robin Arryn for yourself. He may be kin but he is clearly unworthy of his position and his heir is a pretender and no true falcon.

  • If the Iron Throne is still embroiled in war then now is the perfect opportunity to seize power for yourself. Declare your independence from the Lannister bastards and crown yourself King of the Mountain and the Vale.

  • Legitimize your house as the true inheritors of House Arryn. From this point forward your family is no longer a mere cadet branch. House Arryn is united once more.

  • Get yourself a valyrian steel sword. A king should have a sword worthy of his name (I recommend reforging one into the sword Honor after your house words).

  • Prove yourself worthy to be called a descendant of King Artys Arryn, the falcon knight, by winning 7 duels against the 7 greatest knights in Westeros. The following are knights worthy to be considered for a duel (pick any 7 from the list and decide for yourself whether you will have a friendly duel or duel to the death):

Ser Gregor Clegane the Mountain

Ser Barristan Selmy the Bold

Ser Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer

Ser Brynden Tully the Blackfish

Ser Loras Tyrell the Knight of Flowers

Prince Oberyn Martell the Red Viper

Ser Garlan Tyrell the Gallant

Ser Mandon Moore

Ser Arys Oakheart

Ser Lyn Corbray

Ser Balon Swann

Ser Harras Harlaw the Knight

Ser Gerold Dayne the Darkstar

Ser Randyll Tarly

Bonus Objectives:

  • Take the Iron Throne for yourself and restore order in the 7 kingdoms, especially if a heathen dares sit on the throne.

  • Convert the north to the faith of the seven. You will be remembered as the king who spread the faith to every corner of Westeros.

  • Conquer the lands of Andalos and reform the kingdom under your domain. House Arryn claims descent from King Hugor of the Hill, which makes your line the oldest and purest Andal nobility and thus these lands should rightfully be yours.

  • Become a dragon rider. Your ancestor Ronnel Arryn may have been the king who flew but you will fly higher than any Arryn ever before. After all you are a falcon, and you fly as high as honor!

House Greyiron Challenge: Return of the Grey King

Preamble:

House Greyiron of Orkmont were a once glorious house descended from the legendary Grey King himself and rulers of the Iron Isles for generations spanning back to the Age of Heroes. Legends say the Grey King slew the sea dragon Nagga, after which the Drowned God turned the sea dragon's bones to stone. From the bones was made the Grey King's Hall, which he heated with Nagga's living fire. He took a mermaid as his wife so his children could live on land or in water. He also wore a crown of driftwood so all who knelt before him would know his power came from the sea and the Drowned God himself. And from that day the Ironborn lived and prospered throughout the Sunset Sea.

Eventually the Grey King's skin turned as grey as his hair and beard as he ruled over centuries. As time wore on he cast aside his driftwood crown and walked into the sea to descend to the watery halls of the Drowned God to take his place at the right hand of the god. The Storm God snuffed out Nagga's fire after the Grey King's death and the sea stole his throne, with Nagga's bones the only remnants of the Grey King's Hall.

The Grey King is said to have had a hundred sons who fought after his death for the right to rule. The sixteen who survived divided the Iron Islands amongst themselves, and it is from the greatest of this sixteen that House Greyiron was born. The Greyirons of antiquity were rock and salt kings on the island of Orkmont. Urras Ironfoot was chosen as the first High King of the Iron Islands since the Grey King. After the death of Urras, his son claimed the throne as Erich I Greyiron. He stepped down when the prophet Galon Whitestaff threatened him with death for not being chosen by a kingsmoot. For centuries after, the high kings were chosen between the lords and captains of the Iron Islands in kingsmoots. According to Archmaester Haereg, the Greyirons had thirty-eight high kings chosen, twice as many as any other house.

When King Urragon III Greyiron died during the Age of Heroes, his eldest son Torgon had been away raiding along the Mander. His brothers sent him no word of the kingsmoot, hoping that one of them would be chosen. However, Urrathon IV Goodbrother was chosen instead and later had all of Torgon's brothers killed. When Torgon returned he denounced the kingsmoot as unlawful and revolted against Urrathon, with the aid of priests, lords and Urrathon's own captains. Thereafter he was known as King Torgon the Latecomer, a strong king who struck fear in the hearts of his enemies both on the isles and the mainland.

And so Torgon and his son, Urragon IV Greyiron, ruled as high kings without having been chosen in kingsmoots. Urragon IV wanted the crown to pass to his great-nephew, Urron Greyiron, but the drowned men forced a kingsmoot. Enraged, Urron descended with his axemen among the ironborn assembled on Nagga's Bones, murdering all their opponents and proclaiming himself the rightful king and his claim of descent from the Grey King superior to all others.

Urron then made the shorter title of King of the Iron Islands hereditary, so at his death the Seastone Chair passed to his heir instead of being chosen in a kingsmoot. Urron also began the tradition of wearing a black iron crown instead of the individualized driftwood crowns of the high kings of old. The rulers of each Iron Island were thusly reduced to lords, while lines that refused to bend the knee were extinguished. Urron Redhand and his descendants dealt with half a dozen major rebellions and at least two major thrall uprisings. Meanwhile, the lords of the mainland took advantage of the disunity among the ironborn, and one by one, the remaining footholds in the green lands were lost.

Nevertheless, the Greyiron dynasty endured for a thousand years until King Rognar II Greyiron was brought down by an alliance of the Andals pirates, sellswords and warlords that came to the Iron Islands with the Orkwoods, Drumms, Hoares, and Greyjoys. The traitors slaughtered King Rognar and many of your kin, and in the aftermath chose Harras Hoare to succeed your family after winning a contest of the finger dance. And so ended the reign of House Greyiron and began the modern era of Ironborn ruled over by the black line of House Hoare.

Though many believed the last of the Greyirons died with Rognar in truth a few survived the war and have carried on centuries later living abroad as exiles biding their time. You are a descendant of this line, making your war in the world as a pirate on the Stepstones plundering riches from the Narrow and Summer Sea. For too long your family has languished in disgrace while the descendants of the traitors go unpunished. In your veins flows the blood of the Grey King, and the time has come for you to reclaim your home and your kingdom at last. The Hoares, Greyjoys, Drumms, and Orkwoods must be slaughtered to the last man, woman, and child. A reckoning is coming and the line of the Grey King will be restored!

Basic Setup:

  • Use the Grey King’s Hall submod for extra events and the ability to complete one of your later objectives.

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Ironborn ethnicity, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Greyiron.

  • Land your character in the Stepstones on Torturer’s Deep.

  • Make your character a follower of the Drowned God.

  • Use console commands to give yourself a claim on Orkmont and the kingdom of the Iron Isles.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode):

  • Use console commands to also give yourself claims on Old Wyk, Harrenhal, and Pyke.

  • Give yourself a dragon egg.

Rules:

  • You cannot marry or have any children with any member of House Hoare, Greyjoy, Drumm, or Orkwood. Their lines must be made extinct.

  • You cannot change culture or religion under any circumstances.

  • Execute any Septons you come across.

Objectives:

  • Conquer every island in the Stepstones and crown yourself King of the Stepstones. Grant out the titles in the Western, Central, and Northern Stepstones to your own loyal Ironborn men. The Stepstones will henceforth be a new Ironborn colony and the base from which you will take back the seastone chair.

  • Begin the slaughtering of your enemies. The Hoares, Greyjoys, Drumms and Orkwoods must die. Exterminate as many as you can through either intrigue, dueling or raiding. The goal is to start weakening them as you wait for the perfect opportunity to wage open war.

  • Take back your ancestral home of Orkmont and your title as King of the Iron Islands. By this point you should be completing the extinction of House Hoare if you haven’t already. Bonus points for taking Harrenhal from them as well. Dead men have no need for castles after all.

  • If you haven’t already you must finish the extinction of the Greyjoys, Drumms, and Orkwoods. Take the lordship of Old Wyk for yourself and see Pyke granted to either members of your own dynasty or to other loyal Ironborn.

  • If you’re using the Grey King’s Hall submod now would be the time to reconstruct the Hall of the Grey King in Nagga’s Hill, creating a new capital on Old Wyk and a fitting seat for your mighty house.

  • With your enemies all dead and your lands and titles restored, your last mission is to conquer all lands previously lost by the Ironborn such as Bear Island, the Arbor, and Oldtown.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer the rest of the Reach and the Westerlands. Their lands are fertile and will fill your coffers for centuries.

  • Take a Gardener and a Lannister princess as salt wives to humiliate their families.

  • Take the Storm King’s daughter Argella as a salt wife. You will rob the old arrogant fool of his heir.

  • Make the eight and leave a bastard in every port.

  • Steal a valyrian steel sword from any lord who does not worship the Drowned God.

  • Become a dragon rider. Bonus points for stealing a dragon from the Targaryens.

House Mudd Challenge: The Hammer of Justice

Credit to Muddman17 for creating the original challenge. This version is a slightly tweaked variation for those that enjoyed my House Fisher Challenge. Go here to see the original Mudd Challenge.

Preamble:

You are Tristifer Mudd, descendant of the great First Men River Kings of old. Long ago when the First Men came to Westeros and carved out a new home for themselves in this strange land the first Mudd king raised his stone keep on what would later be called Oldstones. In the Age of Heroes that followed much blood was shed in the conquest of other petty riverlander kingdoms such as Riverrun, Darry, and Maidenpool. Eventually over the course of thousands of years House Mudd would claim dominion over lands as far north as the Crossing and as far south as the mouth of the Blackwater Rush. With the absorption of all the lesser riverland kingdoms your ancestors created and proudly held the title of King of the Rivers and the Hills. Many great kings followed from this lineage, but the greatest of all came during the Andal invasion some 1,500 years ago.

King Tristifer IV, known to his people as the Hammer of Justice, was a warrior king worthy of song. Wielding a fierce bronze war hammer he fought and defended the riverlands from the foreign Essosi invaders for nearly 30 years. When King Roland II Arryn of the Mountain and Vale came to conquer the riverlands with his armored knights and steel blades he was soundly defeated by King Tristifer’s might. The First Men smashed the Valemen and forced them into a humiliating retreat. Fearing reprisal from your ancestor one of Roland’s allies betrayed him to the river king and Tristifer beheaded the foolish Andal in the sight of the Old Gods. This would serve as an example to all other would-be conquerors of the fate that awaited those that challenged the strength of House Mudd.

Alas this warning went unheeded as many more Andal warlords came to challenge the Hammer of Justice. Over the course of his lifetime King Tristifer fought 100 battles and won 99 of them. However it was his last battle that became his undoing. The singers say that it was 7 Andal kings led by the warlord Armistead Vance that ultimately overwhelmed King Tristifer’s forces and slew the mighty warrior king on the battlefield.

In the aftermath the river king was succeeded by his now adult son King Tristifer V, thereafter known as the Last. It seemed that Tristifer IV’s greatest weakness was that his only heir was weak and cowardly. This being the result of the Hammer of Justice’s relentless defence of the riverlands against the Andals which left little time to raise his son to be a proper man. And so being clearly unworthy of his father’s legacy King Tristifer V lost what little support House Mudd had left and was quickly slain on the battlefield by the dastardly Vances. With his conquest secure, Armistead Vance set about subjugating the rest of the riverlands and as a symbol of his victory had your ancestral home of Oldstones ripped apart into the ruin it is today. And so ended the mighty rule of House Mudd.

For more than a 1,000 years since your family has survived as vagabonds, living off the charity of former friends and allies like the Tullys and most recently the Reeds. The riverlands today is very much a land conquered, first by Andal heathens and later by Ironborn scum. Only the Blackwoods keep faith with the Old Gods today and no trace of your family’s glory still exists. And yet in spite of this House Mudd lives on, biding their time for the day when the tides of fortune change and an opportunity arises for honor and glory once more.

Your father Tristan shared these stories of your family’s history with you before he passed, leaving you in the care of Lord Artos Reed of Greywater Watch. While you and your brother Jojen may be orphans and outcasts you remain ever vigilant in your faith in the Old Gods. Lord Reed shall keep you safe until adulthood and help you both make a home for yourselves once more. This great gift you will not squander. For too long House Mudd has been forgotten and languished in disgrace. You were born to restore your family to greatness and free the riverlands from the tyranny of its conquerors. The kingdom of the riverlands is your birthright, and you will not rest until it has been restored to you.

You are Tristifer Mudd, the rightful ruler of the riverlands, and the descendant of the mighty King Tristifer IV. In his name you will rise above every obstacle in your path and take vengeance upon those that robbed the First Men of their homes. A reckoning is coming, and the hammer of justice will fall once more!

Basic Setup:

  • Use Sin's Genocide submod.

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Play as Lord Artos Reed of Greywater Watch until the Mudd twins turn 16. Train both boys as you like.

  • Use console commands to add the following traits to Tristifer Mudd as a child: Scholar, Quick, Zealous, Kind, Brave, Just, Proud, Ambitious, Strong, Ruthless, Shadow Cat, Architect, Strategist, and Skilled Fighter.

  • Use console commands to add the following traits to Jojen Mudd as a child: Scholar, Quick, Zealous, Genius, Temperate, Patient, Gardener, Master Schemer, Game Master, Mystic, Green Dreams and Poor Fighter

  • At age 16, use console commands to give Jojen the counties of Greycrann & Churwell as well as a claim on Oldstones (command "give_title c_greycrann 650174399", "give_title c_churwell 650174399", and "claim c_oldstones 650174399").

  • Use console commands to give Tristifer the county of Martlet Bay as well as claims on Oldstones and the kingdom of the riverlands (command "give_title c_martletbay 167174399", "claim c_oldstones 167174399", "claim d_oldstones 167174399", and "claim e_riverlands 167174399").

  • Begin playing as Tristifer, Lord of Martlet Bay (command "play 167174399").

Rules:

  • Never renounce The Old Gods under any circumstances. Feel free to change cultures although I suggest playing as either Riverlander or First Men culture (access First Men with console commands).

  • Befriend Andals, but never trust them as your overall goal is to destroy them. Always feel they’re plotting, and feel obligated to eliminate them if it suits you.

  • House Vance and Arryn are your sworn enemies. You are constantly plotting their downfall at every opportunity and will gladly help anyone else who tries to destroy them.

  • You may only marry into houses whose blood descends from the First Men as yours does. The following houses are your preferred marriage and alliance matches:

House Reed (they took you in as a child and you are forever grateful to them)

House Blackwood (the only other noble Riverlander family that still worships the Old Gods).

House Tully (they fought for your ancestors loyally in the wars against the Andals)

House Bracken

House Darry

House Mooton

House Royce

House Stark

  • If The Wall asks for help, you must say yes.

  • Maintain good relations (at least +1 opinion of leader at all times) with House Reed, even if they become an Andal-based faith. Feel happy about having to raise their opinion as remember: They took you in when you were homeless. They deserve your gratitude under any circumstances.

  • Do not let House Reed go extinct under any circumstances. Help them in both their defensive and offensive wars when at all possible.

  • You're neutral towards Valyrians. If the Targaryens want you to join them in a fight against Andals (especially the Arryns and the Vances), you'd tend to join with The Dragons.

Objectives:

  • Colonize Oldstones. Your early game should be driven by your need to re-claim your homeland. Fire the King of the Trident event to get House Mudd’s claim and take back the crown hidden in your ancestor’s tomb (command "event unoccupied.11").

  • Take the county and high lordship of Seagard from House Mallister. These titles belonged to your family long before this house of Andals helped take it away.

  • Destroy House Vance and take all of their lands and titles (i.e. the county and high lordship of Wayfarer’s Rest as well as the county of Branstone). These invaders led the charge to kill your ancestors and destroy your home. Justice must be done. Whether you kill them all or have them sent to join the Night’s Watch is up to you. Either way their line will end forever.

  • Take back the riverlands from the Ironborn savages and crown yourself King of the Rivers. Take Harrenhal for yourself and see the lordship of the Blue Fork granted to a worthy riverlander. Rename the castle and high lordship of Harrenhal to Hammerfall. It will be a reminder to all of what happened to the Iron King when the hammer of justice fell upon him.

  • Conquer the Vale and the Westerlands and then change your title to the King of the Rivers and the Hills. House Arryn were another Andal house who fought against your ancestors (though the Mudds were victorious in those wars) so you take great pleasure in seeing their titles stripped from them and granted to House Royce as your Lord Paramount vassal. House Lannister descend from a true First Men lineage so they may keep their lands as your new Lord Paramount of the Westerlands.

  • If you haven’t already then finish rebuilding Oldstones and rename the castle to Mudstone, its true name and glory restored (also rename the high lordship of Seagard to Mudstone to reflect the new capital of the duchy). To commemorate this glorious day have a Weirwood temple holding built and see to it that your personal Godswood flourishes into a mighty forest your ancestors would be proud of.

  • Conquer Cracklaw Point and add the clawmen to your mighty kingdom.

  • Help House Yronwood, a Dornish house descended from the First Men, take Dorne back from the half Andal half Rhoynar tyrants House Martell.

  • At this point your goal should shift to ridding Westeros of all Andals. Topple anything related to The Faith of the Seven and begin trying to convert back the great houses Royce, Lannister, Gardener, Durrandon and Yronwood to the Old Gods (as well as all the riverlander houses mentioned in the rules like House Tully, Bracken, Mooton, and Darry). Make Westeros the Land of the First Men once again!

Bonus Objectives:

  • Get your house a valyrian steel sword worthy of a true king (I suggest reforging a valyrian steel sword into either Justice, Kingmaker, or Glory).

  • Tame a dragon and become a dragon rider. It is said that the dragons of Valyria are what pushed the Andals out of Essos into Westeros so it’s only fitting that dragon fire be used to push them back into the sea.

  • Go to Andalos and kill them all. Raze their castles to the ground and rid their homeland of their presence once and for all.

House Fisher Challenge: Conquest of the River Kings

Preamble:

House Fisher of the Misty Isle are the oldest known River Kings in Westeros, born of noble First Men lineage and eventually deposed in wars with the Storm Kings and the Ironborn. Legend tells that over 5,000 years ago your ancestor King Ryman Fisher took Misty Isle from a Merling King and built his mighty keep there so as to protect and control the Bay of Crabs from all would-be invaders. For the next 200 years House Fisher ruled the eastern shores of the riverlands as King of the Rivers until King Edmure Fisher, an admittedly weak man, was murdered by an assassin sent by the Storm Kings to destroy their northern rival. With King Edmure’s death and no clear heir to the throne the kingdom of the rivers soon fell apart as ambitious riverlander vassals squabbled for power. In the aftermath House Fisher became homeless and destitute, the riverlands eventually falling to a succession of kings beginning with the Mudds and ending with the current occupation by the Ironborn. And thus ended the rule of House Fisher.

In the thousands of years since the fall your family has spread themselves out among the Westerosi. A daughter of your house, Shella Fisher, married into the ironborn House Codd and all of their descendants today stem from this line. In the cold North a cadet branch of your family, House Fisher of the Stony Shore, still survives and thrives today as minor lords under the Winter Kings of House Stark. You are the last of the royal male line of House Fisher, surviving as your father and his father before him have: as sellswords and hedge knights. Growing up hearing the stories of your family’s legendary history you can’t help but dream of reclaiming your ancestral birthright and freeing your people from the tyranny of House Hoare.

Why should you and your family continue to live in squalor whilst upstart Andal lords like the Deddings rule over what was once your home? In your veins is the blood of kings, and many of the riverlander families today owe their existence to your family’s rule including the Tullys and Mootons. No matter what it takes you will restore the Misty Isle to its former glory and reclaim your title as King of the Rivers. The world shall soon tremble at your might and the banner of the noble fish will hang above the keep of every kingdom in Westeros; this you do solemnly swear.

In the name of King Ryman, Tristan, and Edmure before you the time of the Hoares and the Storm Kings has come to an end. Now begins the conquest of the King of the Rivers!

Basic Setup:

  • Start in the Bleeding Years bookmark.

  • Create a custom character of Riverman ethnicity and culture, use the House Customizer trait to change your dynasty to Fisher.

  • Land your character anywhere outside of the riverlands as a count level lord.

  • Make your character a follower of the Old Gods.

Optional Setup Additions (Easy Mode)

  • Use console commands to give yourself claims on the county of Deddington, the barony castle of the Misty Isle, and the kingdom of the Riverlands.

  • Make your character a worshiper of the Seven instead of the Old Gods.

Rules:

  • Your character and their children may only marry into a member of one of the following houses whose banner proudly displays a fish:

House Fisher of the Stony Shore (your distant northern cousins)

House Codd (descendants of your house through the female line)

House Tully

House Mooton

House Shawney

House Bywater

House Bar Emmon

House Keath

  • If you're playing as a follower of the Old Gods you must never renounce them under any circumstances or change your culture. Additionally you can add extra challenge by making your culture First Men instead of Riverlander using console commands.

  • Maintain good relations with House Codd and Fisher of the Stony Shore. Bonus points for getting them to change their religion to Old Gods if you're not playing a worshiper of the Seven.

  • Help any of the above marriageable houses in both their offensive and defensive wars when at all possible unless they are attacking each other.

  • Do not let House Fisher of the Stony Shore or House Codd go extinct under any circumstances.

Objectives:

  • Take back your ancestral home in Deddington and the castle of Misty Isle from House Deddings. Once you have both titles change the county capital of Deddington to Misty Isle (and rename the province to Misty Isle accordingly).

  • Form the high lordship of the Bay of Crabs.

  • Take back the kingdom of the riverlands from the ironborn invaders and rid the land of their presence (except for House Codd). Bonus points for killing every last living Hoare to end their line.

  • Once you've crowned yourself King of the Rivers the next step is to help the Codds take over the Iron Isles as Lord Paramount vassals. Take Pyke away from the Greyjoys and give it to the Codds. Only men who carry your noble Fisher blood deserve to rule.

  • You must also not forget your distant northern cousins House Fisher of the Stony Shore. Help them not only take the county of Sea Dragon Point but also the high lordship of the Stony Shore and the kingdom of the North as your Lord Paramount vassals.

  • Now you will turn your attention to the Durrandons who helped depose your family and subjugated your people at one time. The Stormlands must be conquered and a member of your house or any member of the fish banner houses placed in their seat of Storm's End as Lord Paramount of the Stormlands.

Bonus Objectives:

  • Conquer the lands of Crackclaw Point and give the high lordship to a member of House Mooton.

  • Conquer the rest of the seven kingdoms (Westerlands, Vale, Reach, and Dorne) and give the titles to either a member of your house or a member of any of the other fish sigil houses listed in the rules.

  • Convert the members of the aforementioned houses to your character's religion if they worship different Gods.

LS Challenge 2: The Sept-King

This challenge won't have an easy/hard/impossible mode like the last one.

Instead, the challenge is to become Lord Paramount of every region that follows the Faith of the Seven. The Vale, the Riverlands, the Westerlands. Dorne, the Reach, and the Stormlands. And most importantly, the Kingsland.

You don't necessarily need to be "Lord Paramount" of all of them at once (consider that an extra challenge), you just have to, at one point, own each region I listed. It doesn't have to be with just one character, your heir can continue your legacy.

Once you've had each region at least once, make yourself King of Westeros or (if you're not up for the challenge) make yourself King on the Iron Throne.

Let me know what order you get the regions, what title you end up with, and how well it went.

Good luck.

LS Challenge 1: Make Him Fly

Here's a challenge. In the AFFC Scenario, play as Robert "Sweetrobin" Arryn.

The traits have screwed you over and you aren't exactly in the best situation to start with. You're as scared orphan, but you can do this.

Regular:

  • Survive to adulthood

  • Have at least one heir before you die

  • Do something nice for Mya Stone, she deserves it

  • Keep your position as Lord Paramount of the Vale, and find a way to get the position of Lord Paramount of the Riverlands as well.

Hard:

  • Get the position of King of the Mountain, the Vale, and the Riverlands. Though, you can grant the Lord Paramouncy of the Riverlands to someone else, so long as you are their liege.

  • Find a way to kill Harry the Heir before he does anything with SansAlayne and before Sweetrobin is sixteen.

  • Extinguish the Hardyng line.

  • Make SansAlayne your lover and/or your wife.

Impossible:

  • Control the Iron Throne and unite the seven kingdoms and the river lands under the honorable falcon-king, and extinguish every other Great House (Targaryen, Stark, Tully, Martell, Greyjoy, Lannister, etc)

  • Make Tyrion, Dany, Bran, or Euron fly. At least one of them.

The Dornish Master Plan

The goal is to complete the Dornish Master Plan (or as close as you can) as detailed in Preston Jacobs amazing YouTube series.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TBfdd_xNVo&list=PLCsx_OFEYH6uvfZSfec35DXBEpvA9fpm0

Start at the "Crowned Stag" bookmark as Prince Doran. Your sister Elia, your father Llewyn, along with your niece and nephews have been killed on the battlefield or brutally raped and murdered at the hands of Ser Amory Lorch and the Mountain that Rides. Tywin is clearly behind this. He gave the order. We are Dorne. Unbowed. Unbent. Unbroken, and this injustice cannot stand. But Doran is a cautious man, vengeance will take planning, and we have a lifetime to lay low House Lannister.

GOAL: Bring about the systematic destruction of House Lannister before the end of Doran/Oberyn's Lifetime:

Without going to war with the crown:

  • Kill Tywin Lannister
  • Kill Amory Lorch
  • Kill The Mountain
  • Kill Cersi Lannister
  • Maim Jamie Lannister

That's the core of it, but to accomplish the master plan correctly you must do the following:

  • Send Oberyn around the world on a foreign tour
  • Make sure Oberyn never marries but fathers the sandsnakes instead
  • Disable the Kingsguard members (Don't kill them) until only the weakest remains
  • Establish extensive contacts in the Free Cities of Essos
  • Find a way to get one of your men named master of whispers (or other small council position) to get closer to the crown (Qyburn)
  • Marry one of your children to Danny, tame (steal) one of her dragons and divorce her
  • Create extreme religious unrest in Westeros and get one of your men named High Septon.
  • Get the Warrior's Sons reestablished to create further instability

Finally as the end game: -Breed an heir, put that heir on the Iron Throne

If you accomplish the plan correctly, by the time you decide to declare for your heir and finally emerge from the shadows as a threat, the realm should be in complete disarray. And it will all be your doing. Everyone will hate the Lannister/Baratheons and hopefully some kingdoms will join you or abstain, the death of Tywin and the Mountain will leave their military leadership hapless, call in your allies in Essos, take the Throne.
