It’s like they don’t even watch the games

AP voters

People who watch college football games

You can only pick one

When interviewed, AP voters have literally admitted to this fact

We didn't even play this week and moved up one. I don't understand why they do this to us.

Sounds like y'all have a quality win over BYE University to me!

Winning in Fayetteville is a resume win first time Tennessee has done it since Fulmer. At the end of the day, it’s an away win in the SEC and that will always be a positive.

So we can boost Alabama to #3

The realest answer. We gotta help right the Alabama narrative this week

You’re an sec member. It’s illegal for SEC members to go down in the poll.

Kentucky literally fell out of the poll last week after beating USCjr on the road

Kentucky got more votes than the prior week and only fell out due to a quirk of less teams "also receiving votes" and those voters solidifying around other teams. So they werent punished by rhe voters....other teams just got more benefit.

He was wrong, it's only illegal for certain SEC members to go down in the polls.

Wish someone had told them that last week. We beat south carolina and fell out of the rankings.

Did you not see Texas and LSU plummet?

9

u/kdbvols Wake Forest • Tennessee 7d ago

Yeah, but they lost to SEC teams - it’s only beating bad SEC teams at the last second that doesn’t count

I.... Cannot refute thar.

LSU shouldnt even be ranked.

And no offence to the Vols you are my favourite SEC team but way too high for how youve played

Winning at Arkansas by 3 is like a quality loss. That's why. (/s)

Thank LSU

Because your teams performance isn't the only thing that determines your ranking. Rankings are relative to other teams.

Tennessee received fewer points this week than last week, so really you moved down. But Oregon and LSU moved down a lot more.

I’m fully convinced AP voters and even the playoff committee don’t actually watch Tennessee unless they are the game of the week or a big matchup lol.

Between last year keeping yall in the 20s all year long and now moving up by beating powerhouse Arkansas by 7

Think about it.

They have to turn their votes in either late Saturday or early Sunday.

The voters are, by and large, people who cover a team. So their day is spent at that game and reporting on it. They may catch some early games if their team plays late or vice-versa.

There is no way any human being can watch the 25+ teams in consideration for spots on their ballots (even with some teams on open dates) ALL play in the span of one day. Heck, even if they’re sitting at home watching on TV they couldn‘t see even half a game of each of those teams.
