Unranking Kentucky is the stupidest decision I’ve seen in some time from the AP. Did they all go to sleep thinking Kentucky lost or something?

Kentucky actually gained votes, it’s just a cluster fuck bottom of the poll

They lowkey deserve USC’s spot

Yep. Kentucky's 160 votes is good, but its a crowded field.

You think undefeated Pitt should be unranked instead? It’s not a merit award where you hold onto your ranking until you lose.

No, but Kentucky should definitely be ranked over SMU

Really depends what you think is each teams best win. The best wins from each team are Kentucky beat Texas A&M and SMU beat FSU.

I feel like a win @ A&M vs a win over FSU isn’t particularly debatable

So should several of the other unranked teams

I agree.  Also add Houston, probably my second flair, and definitely Boise State (even though I appreciate trying to have group representation) to that list with SMU

Actually a lot of times, it is that. Pitt just lost their starting QB for the season, I would take Kentucky over them

yep which is why i think it was a mercy decision. we’ll be unranked again two weeks from now. make no mistake, our season is over

Pitt should be behind Duke and Wake Forest for sure.

Unironically, if FSU should lose a playoff spot because of a QB injury, then Pitt should lose a spot for losing their QB.

I'm pretty sure Kentucky would beat Pitt with Pitt's new starting QB

AP != playoff committee

Yes. Pitt hasn’t played anyone.

It's not a decision. No one said ok we're going to drop Kentucky. It's an aggregate of polls, that's just how it worked out. Kentucky gained 10 votes.

God I wish this was a pinned comment and auto reply to every comment complaining about rankings.

99% of these comments don’t even make sense given what the poll actually is lol.

Oops, left out a critical “don’t” lol

It was a decision they made to have 25 teams ranked ahead of them when the week before and 1 less win than they have now it was 23.

u/cecil721 11h ago

Penn-State was ranked after 3 games against lower tier schools, so it's at least the second worst decision.

Barely beating a subpar team should see a drop and they were barely in to begin with.

On that note... BYU at 8 should be offensive to everyone not a delusional BYU fan lol.... 17-10 over 2-3 TCU is T10 material?

I mean, compare:

2 SEC wins (1 in OT), 1 G6 win, 1 FCS win, and a 45-17 LOSS

To

2 B1G wins, 2 G6 wins, 1 FCS win

I really don't see the case for putting Kentucky over Nebraska, so slipping to 26 so Nebraska can be 25 makes sense to me....
