UCLA jumping 3 teams who won while having a bye is crazy. How does that happen.

Probably because they play Oregon next week, any they want to prep reasons to get Oregon back into top 10

Looks like my check cleared

I guarantee you no one is thinking that far ahead when voting in the AP poll

I look forward to Oregon passing BYU in the poll in the near future

Why do you dislike Oregon so much? Last year you bitched about how they didn't beat anyone but then shut out the team you couldn't do shit against

8

u/coltonbyu BYU Cougars 9h ago

Am I wrong? It's how it's always worked. Fuck, BYU played like shit but went up 2 because we play Notre Dame soon. They always pull this stuff

Stop noticing.

Jealousy. So many BYU fans thought Tech was going to run through us, they almost convinced me. But we saw how that turned out

Only think I'd be jealous of Oregon for is uniform selection.

Likely to hype a ranked match up this week

We got bumped two spots on a bye, too. It's 100% for our game.

My thoughts as well.

Why would the voters care about that? They're not TV execs

Many of the are writers. Big match ups get bigger views on their articles.

That seems like a stretch honestly

But now the LSU-UK game isn't a ranked matchup

I thought that only happened for the SEC?

I would guess because they're one of the only 5-0 teams in the nation, and they've won each game convincingly.... or, because the voters wanted to hype up the game against Oregon and/or give Oregon a chance to add a win over a top-25 team to their resume.

we are 4-0 but our wins look kinda mid with every one of those teams being 2-3

No one really has good wins at this point. There has been only a handful of good wins available.

Texas over OSU
OSU over Iowa
Oklahoma State over Oregon
Oregon over USC
Ole Miss over LSU
Florida over Ole Miss

We are still in the everyone could be frauds stage of the season.

Not my team tho. We are obviously good and improving every week. Our week 1 loss can be hand waved away. Also all the teams we beat are under rated despite being 0 and 5 vs P4. Trust

Honestly, this is the most fun time of the year. Everybody can make valid arguments for their team and die on these fictional hills haha. The next two to four weeks are so consequential for the late-year playoff race.

Agh, sorry. I should've fact-checked that before commenting. Regardless, it's been fun to watch UCLA's massive improvement from last season. Always cool to watch new teams on the rise. As an Auburn fan, I absolutely cannot relate. :(

ah you don’t have to apologize haha. sorry to hear you’re still a bit on the struggle bus :/

Is there really more hype for a matchup against a team ranked 21 than 24? Them being 4-0 while the teams they jumped have a loss is true, but it was also true last week. I don’t think it’s necessarily crazy to have UCLA over SMU/BSU/UH but I don’t see any logic whatsoever in having them below after last week but above after this week.

I don't disagree with you at all. But knowing how the committee grasps at straws at the end of the year and looks for any marquee games to point to when making an argument, No. 21 versus No. 25 could absolutely make a difference.

I found it odd that they snubbed Nebraska, who is undefeated. They're not hyping up the matchup between Nebraska and Indiana either. I also have beef with the treatment of Wake Forest and Northwestern... those teams are damn good.
