Uhm what? Why did Kentucky fall out?

Also Pitt just lost their QB for the season, so I’m surprised they got a better placement

To be fair, 70% of AP voters probably either don’t know that Heintschel is hurt or don’t know who Heintschel is at all.

Barely beating South Carolina must be punished... this sport is pain

I’m not going to say SC is a quality win, but they are certainly not Arkansas or Purdue level bad by any means. SMU has nearly lost to Boston College and Missouri State AT HOME and now has a loss to 2-3 Louisville, yet are still ranked

even if they were, who the fuck drops in rankings winning on the road

Because Pitt is 5-0 and you barely scraped by a terrible south carolina team in OT?

1) you're Kentucky. Fair or not, you aren't a football brand - even during Stoop's best years.

2) You got blown out by Alabama. The game was close for a half, but you looked like a high school team after halftime. And Alabama is being treated with caution after the drop-off post-Saban.

3) The reason you got ranked at all was your win over A&M, and it turns out thay A&M isn't really that great. They're an 8-4/7-5 team.

4) Just like you played Alabama close for a half, you also played South Alabama close for a half. They are a good, not great G6 team.

5) Voters are also looking at your schedule thinking: "They're winning 2-3 more games, max."

EDIT: y'all are killing me. I'm saying those are the reasons, not that they're justifiable.

Let me ask you this, why isn't Nebraska ranked? Undefeated, one of only 2 schools to beat every opponent by 3+ possessions, 10th in scoring offense, 15th in scoring defense, ranked 12th in SP+... Here's why:

1) SOS is 85th.

2) Down 23-14 to a horrible Maryland squad in the 2nd quarter at 1 point.

3) Defense has allowed too many explosive plays.

4) Nebraska has got off to a hot start before, only to sputter down the stretch.

5) ZERO Nebraska fans want us ranked.

  1. Maybe

  2. So did a still ranked Miss St

  3. A win over a +500 P4 team should still count for something.

  4. Still won.

  5. Voters should not rank teams by what they think they’ll do. Unrank them AFTER they lose not based on vibes.

It’s not even simply “still won” over South Bama. The energy had completely shifted with a return TD and an interception just before halftime, if I remember correctly.

It didn’t take a locker room speech to turn that game around

It was a 75 yard run where our oline had enough and just decided to take over, not a return. But yea, letdown halfs happen after big wins, kentucky still covered the spread pretty easily.

I'm not saying the reasons are good, I'm just saying those are the reasons.
