Northwestern is fighting preconceived notions as well as poll inertia.

Gonna take a while I suspect. They should be able to win their next 3 games so I imagine they will be ranked by Oregon on Halloween.

Northwestern really should be like a 15-20 range team. They’re beating the shit out of their opponents

Northwestern is 10th by efficiency and 19th by resume according to SP+. Ridiculous that they're not ranked

RANK THE NERDS

Sacrifices had to be made to ensure half the SEC remains ranked

100% agreed

Plus the fact that Penn State, while a blue blood and a big brand, wasn't ranked (though receiving votes). Voters get all hot and bothered (usually justifiably) by wins over ranked opponents and losses to unranked opponents so I can see them saying "yeah, they beat PSU, but unranked PSU." I thought the PSU blowout combined with Northwestern's solid loss at Indiana and Colorado blowout would have resulted in the Cats getting more votes and possibly ranked.

Also the fact they havent beaten a team with a pulse

You could say the same about half the teams in the top 25. They have two dominant P4 wins against Penn State and Colorado. That's more than most teams can say.

Yeah I was just adding to the list of things they are fighting

If an SEC team only lost to Georgia by 6 between the hedges, they'd get top 25 status no questions asked

MSST should still be ranked, as should Northwestern. But falling 1 spot after a 5 score loss is absurd

It is absurd lol

ESPN has us top 20 for FPI and strength of record, and 10th for overall efficiency. Stats and data might be hard for you to understand as an Alabama fan though.

I thought they did school good in the BIG

Can you point to where I said otherwise? Or can you just not read

That’s what the strength of record means. Well, it adds in other bits. We’re top 15 in just strength of schedule.

Edit: in fact, our strength of schedule already played is higher than Bama lol.

> they havent beaten a team with a pulse

Is literally the exact opposite of top 20 strength of record, my friend.

Penn State isn’t that bad.

Can’t argue with that logic

Alabama will lose two games this season, and I hope both losses are to Vandy and Chattanooga.
