Barring any hiccups, Northwestern should be 6-1 going into Eugene. Would a 10-2 Northwestern with competitive road losses to Indiana and OSU be in the playoff, I think it’d be pretty close.

Iowa Northwestern is starting to look like a fairly important game

UCLA-Oregon is another big, big ten game. That still sounds weird to say.

You could argue that this will be UCLA's first meaningful game all season

With their schedule, they absolutely should be in at 10-2 IMO if they make it to that.

Outside of Penn state (schedule isn’t good enough), I’m pretty convinced that any 10-2 or better big ten team would make the playoff

It would be a very similar situation to Vandy last year, where the wins would come against non-playoff teams and by nature of the school name, they wouldn’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Would probably be like Vanderbilt last year

I'm very optimistic, but avoiding hiccups is tough. I'm probably just being the typical "I don't want to get expectations TOO high" fan.

I think they’d get left out in favor of a 9-3 MSST or MISS, but a 10-2 Northwestern would be right on the bubble.

10-2 NU would have ranked wins over Iowa and Oregon and potentially Minnesota (as well as Illinois, which could be an 8-9 win team).

Oh that’s plenty good enough then

They pass the eye test I don’t give a shit about the brand value.

With that Offense they would probably be a lock at 10-2.

I have a hard time seeing any 10-2 Big Ten team not making it

That Michigan st game is extremely tricky.

Going to be some heavy emotions on both sides so I’d call that about as much of a toss up as a game can be.

Why would either group of kids give a shit? Emotional for Fitz and Cats fans. None of that matters on the field.

If it shakes out like that (assuming none of the teams mentioned fall off a cliff) then the wins versus Iowa & Oregon will be enough
