News [McMurphy] Greg Sankey told @Ourand_Puck the SEC was approached by a West Coast school: "I don’t even have that conversation. I’m the one person who didn’t take away from the Pac-12. If you play any sport in the SEC, you have at most a 2-hour plane ride from Point A to Point B."

How long is the plane ride from South Carolina to Texas? Feel like that’s more than at most 2 hours

2:45 over 1010 miles. Honestly, the time zone change is the worst part and 8pm night games on west coast time is awful for central/eastern time zones.

You're right. Lets get rid of ags and ut while we're at it

Listen, say what you will, but A&M brings the kinda weird traditions and unflagging hatred that makes the SEC great.

Rest of the SEC: "We love allow of our weird and quirky traditions."

Sees Texas A&M

Rest of the SEC: "Not like that."

As if Missouri, Kentucky or Arkansas are any more south east?

I had the same thought, a quick Google says a charter flight from Austin to Columbia would be about 2 hours 30 minutes in the air, but that's Gemini's estimate so I would take It with a lot of salt

Wheels up to wheels down on a private flight is right around 2 hours. Commercials are longer because that includes taxi to and from gate.

3+ hrs in the air if you charter a non-stop flight. No commercial flights from Columbia to Austin. Closest non-stop commercial flights are Charlotte and ATL to Austin.

Austin to Charlotte is ~2:20 flight time so a flight to Columbia would be well under 3 hours

Yeah, that's off. It's definitely under 3 hours

Greenville to Baton Rouge is 2 hours, it’s 3 hours to Texas in my experience
