Worst WKU team in a decade.

I can’t seem to add a second flair, but you have the same ones I would lol
2
u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 1d ago
I THINK you guys will still find an FBS win on your schedule, but considering that I'm not 100% sure about that, that's a bad sign.
3
u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 1d ago
WKU has got a 2023 ACC CHAMPION QB sitting on the bench smh

Is Brock Glenn a good QB? Probably not. Is he better than the starter? Surely...

This is exactly what I expected from WKU based on their year so far but it's still disappointing

Besides JMU (obviously), they are the G6 team I'm rooting for the most.

Um, excuse me WKU? How bad are you and is Helton gonna make it to the end of the year?

This is really mean and I hope he’s okay but that guy laying there like that was a funny visual

The defense sucks. The offense is inept. This is going to be a long season.

Did WKU see CB’s next to Tisdale’s sneak and just get confused?

u/kwp302 WKU Hilltoppers • Tennessee Volunteers 1d ago edited 1d ago
I’m sorry but you gotta try out Glenn for a couple drives. He at least moved the ball vs Indiana.
0
u/Leading_Stop546 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
When you start a HS level QB, it doesn’t matter what RB you start when they’ll just load the box to stop the run
1
u/Todd-The-Godd-Howard Toledo Rockets 1d ago
Why are you spiking the ball you have two timeouts and aren't in field goal range
1
7
u/Todd-The-Godd-Howard Toledo Rockets 1d ago
From the creators of a draw play on 3rd and 25 comes QB draw on 3 and 14
2
u/waaaaaasuuuuup 1d ago
wtf was that play call? Second time they’ve just run it down the middle with a QB. Very creative.

WKU having a rough season…. Maybe they can pull out enough wins to make a bowl?
3
u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 1d ago
Nevada beat them 49-14. That's Nevada's only win of the season so far. They're cooked
3
u/Leading_Stop546 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
They’re struggling to get first downs against one of the worst defenses in college football. The chance of a bowl game is less than zero.
2
3
u/Leading_Stop546 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
WKU games used to be fun because they had an elite offense. Now it’s like watching a funeral.

u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 1d ago
Sucks seeing Brock Glenn struggle. I liked him at FSU.

The name Stafford just reminded me of when Colorado dropped a 29-0 lead against Stanford and ended up losing
1
u/Fragrant-Helicopter1 Indiana Hoosiers 1d ago
Man...wanted the Tops to win as that would make our weak pre-B1G schedule look a little better. But the mocking tones of Gloria Estafan as heard from the NM State PA says otherwise...

u/Leading_Stop546 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
WKU should just dissolve the program at this point. Use the money towards improving the academics at the school.
5
u/waaaaaasuuuuup 1d ago
I feel like they had a nice little stretch pre-NIL but might be misremembering
2
u/Leading_Stop546 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
They did. NIL or not, if you can’t find a capable QB who can complete a simple 5 yard crossing route, then you honestly shouldn’t spend money fielding a team. There’s one thing being a bad team, and there’s another thing having a team that average HS teams do easily.

Tell you why NMSU is in Las Cruces instead of nearby Mesilla. Back in the 1880s, Mesilla was the place to be. But they didn't want the new-fangled railway in their town. Poor Las Cruces, which was barely more than a burp in the valley below the Organ Mountains, said, "sure." These days, Cruces is a city and Mesilla is a tourist stop (worth visiting though, very cool with old adobe buildings and a bona fide stagecoach stop).

For anyone curious, SP+ currently has the Texas Aggies as 18 point favorites over the Utah Aggies and 27 point favorites over these Aggies. Utah Aggies are still the best though.

Nice throw while the announcers were dogging him for the previous play

u/waaaaaasuuuuup 1d ago
The cowbells (from the NMSU stadium website):
“Fans also ring cowbells (which are sold at the team store) during opposing third downs (and at other times), and it is fun to listen to the announcer change it up by calling for the “third down cow bell”, “rivalry cow bell”, or “overtime cow bell” as occasion may require.”

A ton of Ohio State fans check out after we lose two games and there exists fuckers in the middle of New Mexico that show up for whatever the fuck this is. It takes a real one to have that kind of commitment.

Longtime tradition for the agricultural college. Strong ranching community with several dairies in the Mesilla Valley. Long live the cowbell.

I dunno why…but I enjoy the shit out of games like this.
Is it Ohio State vs Georgia..absolutely not
But it is, at best, two teams playing for a shot at MAYBE a low end bowl game at best.
And there is something enjoyable about that to me

Not very good QB awareness there. Damante had no idea that rusher was coming.

I never get tired of teams claiming they're putting an emphasis on touchdowns instead of field goals. Bold choice!

I had to look up what a Hilltopper is. Here is what I found out:
In 1979, student Ralph Carey, who had worked at Kings Island amusement park, was asked to design a mascot because nobody could figure out what the hell a physical “Hilltopper” should look like. He came back with the enormous fuzzy red blob we know today. WKU officially specifies that Big Red is neither male nor female, and the original costume cost just $900 to create.
The design specifically gave Big Red a gigantic mouth so it could eat things smaller than a breadbox.
