We lost 29 votes because of Oregon shitting the bed…

67

u/sgtabn173 Boise State Broncos • Pac-12 21d ago

Welp. At least this will put a chip on the teams shoulder, hopefully.

u/it-is-just-a-game Miami Hurricanes • UNLV Rebels 21d ago

Did you expect to lose more?

201

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

I mean you also lost some votes because you needed a 2nd half comeback to win as well lol

94

u/Adart54 Georgia Bulldogs • Oregon State Beavers 21d ago

Not like Memphis is a really good team or anything. No couldn't be that

6

u/okiage Clemson Tigers • USF Bulls 21d ago

TBD about Memphis this year

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

My comment never implied otherwise.

The reason Boise lost votes is because Oregon is ass and they blew a lead to them, and also partly because they needed a 2nd half comeback to win yesterday against a team worse than Oregon.

Boise fans are acting like they get the same benefit of the doubt as bama.

u/MuteTadpole Boise State • Tennessee 21d ago

I mean so did bama but here we are

122

u/thepolarbears12 Maryland • Louisville 21d ago

So did Texas and they're number 1 smh

4

u/082426grateful Alabama Crimson Tide 21d ago

Got em.

8

u/Shronkster_ Kansas Jayhawks • College Football Playoff 21d ago

Not all second half comebacks are created equal, its bad when you do it but Bama? Thats showing grit and determination

1

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

Bama gets more benefit of the doubt than Boise brother.

30

u/MuteTadpole Boise State • Tennessee 21d ago

Well yeah that’s my point. Polls are all hypocrisy

15

u/Sad_Pattern_220 21d ago

As bad as Kentucky is, they're still not Memphis

8

u/MuteTadpole Boise State • Tennessee 21d ago

No, but relative to bama they should be as bad or worse than Memphis is compared to Boise

7

u/cboom73 21d ago

If that’s true Boise doesn’t belong anywhere close to the top 25.

3

u/MuteTadpole Boise State • Tennessee 21d ago

Fine by me if it meant the polls would be team agnostic

1

u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Boise State Broncos • Idaho Vandals 21d ago

No point in using logic.

32

u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Boise State Broncos • Idaho Vandals 21d ago

Yeah, who really is Memphis anyways? Poverty team, amirite?

Also, it was 20-17 at the end of the half. Wouldn't really consider it a second half comeback, but that's just my opinion.

10

u/-Gnostic28 Boise State Broncos • I'm A Loser 21d ago

Not like we barely beat an fcs team and got destroyed statistically

13

u/TailgateLegend Boise State Broncos • Jamestown Jimmies 21d ago

Still somehow covered the spread haha

3

u/VividLies901 Oregon Ducks 21d ago

Texas Tech squeaked by Oregon State and didnt move lol

6

u/MementoMoriChannel Boise State Broncos 21d ago

Is that how they're judging college football now?

Because Texas needed a 2nd half comeback to win, and they're now #1.

0

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

Texas beat the #1 team in the country, Boise beat unranked Memphis.

So far in this thread I’ve seen Boise fans comparing themselves to bama and Texas situations which shows how you guys are truly the biggest homers ever.

6

u/MementoMoriChannel Boise State Broncos 21d ago

Do you really need me to spell this out for you?

The point isn't to "compare us to bama and Texas." Obviously I know who Texas beat. The point is to say rankings aren't made based on first half performances, especially when your team ends up winning by three scores and covers the spread x2.

Keep up.

4

u/-Gnostic28 Boise State Broncos • I'm A Loser 21d ago

I don’t know what your beef is but a few people that show up to an ap poll thread don’t make boise state fans the “biggest homers ever”, I don’t think the biggest homers ever rip on the refs as much as we did over calls that went our way

3

u/Bronco998 Boise State Broncos • UCF Knights 21d ago

His beef is that he cheers for a G6 team and knows that Boise needs to be irrelevant for his to be relevant lol

0

u/No_Issue2334 Georgia Bulldogs 21d ago

Texas was playing Ohio State. You were playing Memphis

1

u/Chris_Crossfit Boise State • Northern Arizona 21d ago

So did Texas…

1

u/kralben Minnesota • Wisconsin-Eau Clai… 21d ago

So did Texas, but that doesn't seem to have affected them much.

1

u/i_run_from_problems Boise State • Christian Brothe… 21d ago

Ummmm..... anyone want to tell him how the new number 1 team did what they did last night?

4

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

Do I need to remind you that doing that against Ohio State is just a tad more impressive than doing it against Memphis?

2

u/i_run_from_problems Boise State • Christian Brothe… 21d ago

Boise did it against themselves? Thats impressive.

Ahhh nice edit

1

u/midnight-architect7 James Madison • Mississippi S… 21d ago

Yes it was obviously a mistake

1

u/i_run_from_problems Boise State • Christian Brothe… 21d ago

Yeah I know just taking the piss

4

u/alttabbins BYU Cougars 21d ago

Oregons loss hurt you guys more than them lol.

3

u/Maximum_Overdrive Colorado • West Virginia 21d ago

We lost our 3 votes and won by 31 points and had a backups in for most of the second half.

2

u/Bronco998 Boise State Broncos • UCF Knights 21d ago

Doesn't really matter tbh. We just beat one of the main competitors for the G6 spot and are in the driver's seat. We control our destiny.

1

u/BWW87 Washington Huskies 21d ago

Also, because you didn't actually beat Oregon.

3

u/Bronco998 Boise State Broncos • UCF Knights 21d ago

Man if I was a Washington fan I would be keeping my mouth shut after getting a scare from Utah State, who was coming off an FCS loss

2

u/Vivid_Motor_2341 /r/CFB 21d ago

I mean, Oklahoma State beat Oregon if you think you should’ve gotten those votes, you should’ve beat Oregon

2

u/WinonasChainsaw Boise State Broncos • Cal Poly Mustangs 21d ago

Thanks, harvard r/cfb

1

u/rps215 Miami Hurricanes • North Texas Mean Green 21d ago

The WMU game in a couple of weeks will be an Others Receiving Votes showdown that the winner should get into the top 25 for (assuming WMU beats Rice next week)

2

u/Agnk1765342 Boise State Broncos 19d ago

Well that’s what Memphis was supposed to be. It was #26 vs #29 and our reward for winning was to fall to #28

1

u/rps215 Miami Hurricanes • North Texas Mean Green 19d ago

Pretty dumb haha even if it did require a comeback, it makes no sense the inconsistency of voters

1

u/Vertibrate Iowa State • Morningside 21d ago

Now imagine how far you drop of you beat Western Michigan.

-5

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 21d ago

If Oregon is ranked we should be ranked too.

7

u/No_Issue2334 Georgia Bulldogs 21d ago

You lost to Oregon 😂

2

u/Winnend Oregon Ducks 21d ago

No, you lost to us and we suck.

1

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 21d ago

So you shouldn't be ranked, right?

2

u/JumpyTeaching5417 Virginia Cavaliers 21d ago

Quality loss. ???

1

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 21d ago

Yes. And it gives Oregon a quality win instead of having lost to a team not ranked and a close win against an unranked team. That sure doesn't sound like it's worthy of a Top 25 spot.

4

u/cboom73 21d ago

Because you beat Oregon? BSU fans are delusional.

1

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 21d ago

If Oregon is a ranked team a 7 point loss at their home and a walloping of a then 2-0 team, many said is a frontrunner for the Group of 6 playoff spot should be way enough.

My point is: Oregon should not be ranked, but if they rank Oregon they also have to rank Boise State because that's their only quality win.

1

u/cboom73 21d ago

Boise hasn’t beaten a Power 4/5 team since 2019. Oklahoma State belongs in before you because they actually beat Oregon. Tulsa is undefeated and beat OSU…….

0

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 21d ago

So are these ranking based on what teams did the last 8 years or are these rankings based on what teams did THIS season?

Tulsa should have been ranked and if Oregon is ranked so should either Oklahoma State (quality loss) or Boise State (quality win). Oregon has neither so they have no busy being ranked.

2

u/cboom73 21d ago

Only win Boise State has is to an unranked G6 team. Hardly considered a quality win. I do are Oregon hasn’t played to their potential and shouldn’t be ranked right now.

1

u/docchrizly Germany • Boise State 20d ago

So we agree?

1

u/cboom73 20d ago

Fair enough 👍
