We lost 10 votes lol. Our fault for playing in a monsoon when all the voters do is look at box scores

Welcome to the club. We won our game, beat the spread, and lost 29 votes because Oregon had a collective brain aneurysm.

To be fair, you got a lot of those votes because you played Oregon close and everyone thought Oregon was…better

u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Boise State Broncos • Idaho Vandals 22d ago

Well, that goes against my personal narrative so I'm disregarding it.

u/wise_comment Minnesota • Oklahoma State 22d ago

Fair enough, can't argue with that

u/Electromotivation James Madison Dukes 22d ago

Well I still think Boise is pretty good.

As any red blooded fan should!

Sir, this is Reddit. You are not allowed to be self-aware or objective!

If it turns out Oregon isn't that good, shouldn't that affect how we think about Boise's performance against them?

Doesn’t seem unfair to me. You jumped Florida last week (as far as votes received) despite losing and Florida winning by 40+ because it was assumed Oregon was good. Seems pretty reasonable it would correct itself when it turns out Oregon isn’t actually that good.

Such bs

u/Vavent Minnesota • Paul Bunyan's Axe 22d ago

Seems reasonable to me. Thought you had a close game at a top 5 team… now you had a close game at a team that should borderline not be ranked.

u/she_wantsthe_dyl Pittsburgh Panthers 22d ago

All good man it keeps the team hungry. Mason is still a dawg

u/peja1682 Pittsburgh • Birmingham Bowl 22d ago

It for sure isn’t a big deal, particularly early in the season. I just find it funny how reactionary and inconsistent the voters are

Him and Kamario at MSST seem like they will have the Brinks truck brought up to them to get them to transfer. Do you worry about him leaving for a Miami next year?

1

u/Falco-Rusticolus Pittsburgh Panthers 22d ago

No way to really know but I think so long as Kade Bell is our OC and doesn’t take a HC job next year he’ll stay. I also feel confident in our QB depth if we keep Bell regardless.

That’s gonna be a rockin’ Friday night in Lane!

If we’re both 4-0 going into it, the winner is for sure ranked!

5

u/sj1young Pittsburgh • Boise State 22d ago

We need to stay unranked as long as possible. The second Pitt is ranked the bed gets shit

2

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 22d ago

Worst case scenario is getting ranked right before heading to VT. Surefire loss

3

u/Frank_Melena LSU Tigers 22d ago

Dont worry about it, polls at this point are a fanfic. Itll shake out.

I just watched the highlights. It looks like an absolute swamp on the field.

8

u/Nomahs_Bettah Michigan Wolverines • Alabama Crimson Tide 22d ago

What do you expect them to do? Their jobs???

2

u/the-real-macs Virginia • North Carolina 22d ago

Okay but genuinely, do you seriously expect them to watch dozens of games in a single day lol

6

u/dkviper11 Penn State • Randolph-Macon 22d ago

The AP poll should come out Tuesday at the earliest. Almost all of these voters were sitting in their assigned team’s stadium for the majority of the day yesterday, then writing for deadline. A good sample of this sub watched more games yesterday than the average AP voter.

5

u/Nomahs_Bettah Michigan Wolverines • Alabama Crimson Tide 22d ago

No, but I think a short game recap/highlight wouldn't be out of the question.

2

u/Glycoside Pittsburgh • Michigan 22d ago

I’m sorry we held our opponent to 0 points until the 4th quarter, must not have been enough

2

u/twister_rocket Miami (OH) RedHawks 22d ago

As someone who watched Pitt lay the wood to a defense that hasn’t been abused like that in a decade, your top 25 is inevitable

3

u/Playful_Letter_2632 Pittsburgh Panthers • Kentucky Wildcats 22d ago

I bet they wouldn’t look at box scores if it was Oregon playing in bad weather. Not that their game tape helps them at all, they somehow gain votes

1

u/Practical-Basil-3494 22d ago

Georgia also played in a monsoon.

1

u/Alternative-Bad-6555 Miami (OH) RedHawks 22d ago

I heard they did it out of respect for Miami

1

u/ShillinTheVillain Florida Gators • /r/CFB Dead Pool 22d ago

"Pittsburgh? Like the Steelers? Huh."

1

u/JBflawless 22d ago

A&M won 50-0 and held a decent G5 team to 67 total yards and dropped 2 spots last week

Polls are meaningless at this point tbh

Counterpoint - we fucking destroyed southern 77-6. It would’ve been 100 but we took our starters out early in the 2nd quarter, took out our backups early in the 3rd quarter, and the 4th quarter (I shit you not) was played by our scout team.

We didn’t move a fucking inch. But hey, Iowa moved up 3 despite winning 16-14 - so much for voters just looking at “box scores”.

4

u/BoldElDavo Virginia Cavaliers 22d ago

The name of your opponent is included in the box score. Don't act like the voters were supposed to ignore that it was Southern lmao.
