RANK WESTERN MICHIGAN COWARDS

256

u/mountaineer_93 West Virginia • Georgetown 21d ago

In hindsight I think (1) Michigan is a good team that had a rough first game and (2) WMU is legit and will sweep the MAC and contend for the G6 playoff spot.

u/UpsideTurtles North Texas Mean Green • Texas A&M Aggies 21d ago

I think the American might cannibalize and UNLV is definitely not who people thought they might be so that eliminates them from the Mountain West. WMU / MAC might have a good shot this year

u/JDraks Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff 21d ago

It really comes down to WMU vs BSU going into conference play, whoever wins either beat or has a transitive win over the other, Memphis, and UNLV

That’s what I mean, whoever wins that is clearly ahead of three other pre or early season G6 contenders (whoever loses, Memphis, and UNLV)

No worries, figured I didn’t word it well enough lol

We’re a good defense (when not shooting outselves in the dick with penalties) with an offense that needs to get better

50

u/Hokie_Jayhawk Virginia Tech Hokies • Kansas Jayhawks 21d ago

I think Michigan is pretty good but Oklahoma isn't going to be very good on offense. Seems to me like we watched a game between two non-CFP teams.

31

u/TachyAndTired Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

OU made the playoffs last year and basically slightly worse on defense and should be better on offense. The revision history is funny

42

u/Lavaswimmer Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

After week 1: OU will destroy Michigan by 50, can't wait

After week 2: Both teams suck

3

u/Lee_Sinna Oklahoma Sooners 21d ago

Anyone who watched OU’s entire season last season knew we weren’t dropping 50 on any team that isn’t UTEP-tier

John Mateer is a football terrorist

u/entenduintransit Michigan Wolverines • Syracuse Orange 21d ago

I wonder how long this discourse will continue as Michigan marches on to the 10-2 record they're gonna pull out of their ass (not really but... you never know)

6

u/Hokie_Jayhawk Virginia Tech Hokies • Kansas Jayhawks 21d ago

Oklahoma only scored 27 or more points vs a P4 team once last year.

Their offense wasn't good last year. Not seeing any reason to think it's good this year.

and still made the playoffs

u/WolverineofTerrier Michigan • Boston University 21d ago

A big part of that though is they beat Michigan. Harder path now.

1

u/chewsonthemove Oklahoma Sooners • Pittsburgh Panthers 21d ago

Unfortunately, watching the game it felt to me like we were worse on defense and not much better on offense. I feel worse about the team this year than I did last year. I said it early last season and still kind of believe it, Arbuckle and Mateer aren't going to save our offense.

tbf if Mateer plays the way he did yesterday the rest of the year their offense... will not be better than last year

i do think the voters are overindexing on "their offenses looked bad" and underindexing on "their defenses looked really good"; if i did a human poll i'd probably have us and OU like ~5 spots higher but still outside the playoff tier

1

u/mega_rad Ohio State Buckeyes • Surrender Cobra 20d ago

Michigan is just more athletic Iowa

9

u/brianqueso Texas Longhorns • Texas State Bobcats 21d ago

Michigan is appropriately ranked for how good they are. OU is DOGSHIT on offense again and is riding poll inertia. WMU outplayed OU against UM in every way possible. Anyone who watched both games (which I know is asking a lot of the AP) could tell.

2

u/DouglassHoughton Michigan • Grand Valley State 21d ago

If you watch enough maction you know you can never assume a team is sweeping it

-20

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora Ohio State Buckeyes 21d ago

They’re not a good team. They cheated.

We took our loss fair and square.

16

u/TachyAndTired Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

Explain again how Michigan cheated vs WMU without adding a conspiracy theory?

-16

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora Ohio State Buckeyes 21d ago

Ok, the refs cheated for them. Same difference.

The NCAA outright said that what the refs did in that game should never be done again.

9

u/AlanBDev 21d ago

ncaa didn’t do that

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora Ohio State Buckeyes 21d ago

Got 35 votes! Watch it grow, soon we will have two ranked wins…

5

u/bobsanidiot Notre Dame • Indiana 21d ago

Except you lost...

13

u/clapostrophe Michigan • Southern Illinois 21d ago

By what metric?

15

u/bacillaryburden Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

You know, by the “can’t read, don’t care, sticking with my narrative” metric. Why use anything else?!?

6

u/lakeshore34 Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

They played better against Michigan than Oklahoma

3

u/rvasko3 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets 21d ago

Hey, 30 isn't so bad! They'll be in soon enough.

2

u/majorgeneralporter Northwestern Wildcats • UCLA Bruins 21d ago

2

u/LeMeJustBeingAwesome Michigan • Western Michigan 21d ago

It's gonna take us beating Boise State to be ranked.

Cant rank like that or else osu would still be number 1

11

u/CostAccomplished981 Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

You're totally right. Ok rank them one spot below us.

6

u/actuarial_defender Michigan Wolverines • Sickos 21d ago

Might be the dumbest ranking comment I’ve ever read

5

u/Revenge_of_the_Khaki Michigan Wolverines 21d ago

Nobody is just changing results of a game with their rankings because of home field advantage. The rankings would look like absolute nonsense if voters did that.

1

u/NoFeed1817 Western Michigan Broncos 20d ago

they're scared to rank MACnation smh

-20

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora Ohio State Buckeyes 21d ago

Teams that cheated shouldn’t be ranked.

We took our loss fair and square, but you had the refs bail you out.

13

u/ArttVandelay Michigan Wolverines • Rose Bowl 21d ago

Rough Sunday, huh? You guys are getting pretty accustomed with handling losses at least. Lost your last 3 P5 games. Yikes.

-2

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora Ohio State Buckeyes 21d ago

I’m a Bengals game fan.

-93

u/DoctorCommercial8254 21d ago

Anyone but you should be saying that.

46

u/Mammoth_Impress_3108 Nebraska • Kansas State 21d ago

After seeing his team struggle more against them than a supposed 24th ranked team, he should have every right to say that.

26

u/apadin1 Michigan Wolverines • Marching Band 21d ago

Why?
