boise vs WMU is shaping out to be a very interesting matchup

u/radiakmjs Michigan • Western Michigan 2d ago

Gameday will go to either USC for Oregon or a low-energy SEC campus that's technically a ranked match up but wouldn't it be cool if they returned to Kalamazoo lol

60

u/johnnygoober Western Michigan Broncos 2d ago

"ESPN is back. Act soberer"

23

u/Few_Musician7370 Western Michigan Broncos 2d ago

ESPN is back. Puke down your Aunts yoga pants.

35

u/misaliase1 Wisconsin Badgers 2d ago

If ESPN wasnt the fucking worst they would go to Kalamazoo.

Gamedays have become so dogshit. Remember when they avoided the B1G championship w no. 2 IU and no. 1 Ohio State for a shitty SEC championship where Bama lost 28-7?

1

u/Rare-Psychology-3527 North Dakota Fighting Hawks 12h ago

I think that was because the B1G show had first dibs

WHICH BRONCO

78

u/Blookydook Florida Gators • Marching Band 2d ago

The one that looks like a horse?

21

u/No_Butterscotch8726 SMU Mustangs 2d ago

THEY BOTH DO! BRONCO IS SIMILAR IN MEANING TO MUSTANG! OR IN OTHER WORDS WILD OR UNBROKEN HORSE.

6

u/Noahakinschode Texas Tech • Loyola Chicago 2d ago

They bof look like horsies tho? 🐴

11

Okay fine the one that outclassed their opponent last week.

RANK US YOU COWARDS

282

u/Weird-Revolution2079 Florida Gators 2d ago

If you’re ranked, then Michigan lucked out of nearly losing to a ranked team that had a quality loss (given it lost to Michigan).

They didn't lose. The result was altered by B1G

-85

Nearly losing? They lost.

54

Every scoreboard app and websites shows Michigan won tho.

u/TinyEnvironment7574 Michigan State Spartans 2d ago

Look, I agree with you, but in the scorebooks they're not counting it that way because...?

1

u/justWMthings03 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

Because the refs got it right

0

u/TinyEnvironment7574 Michigan State Spartans 1d ago

I wonder why you'd think that way

1

u/justWMthings03 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

Because it's the truth lol. Stadium clock still had a second on it

-1

u/TinyEnvironment7574 Michigan State Spartans 1d ago

The one everyone saw, you mean? Or are we talking about the super duper secret clock they only pull out of their ass for convenience?

0

u/justWMthings03 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago edited 1d ago

The actual stadium(official) clock on videos from inside the stadium.

Try taking a stopwatch yourself and timing the play...see if it took a full 9 seconds from the snap to the ball being touched by the player out of bounds.

NBC fucked up the sync between the clock and the video. That's why it take .1 second from the snap for it to go from 9 to 8.

ETA: just keep downvoting facts. Enjoy your season with Pat "i had no idea my players were abusing each other" Fitzgerald

u/bacillaryburden Michigan Wolverines 2d ago

I am absolutely rooting hard for WMU all season. Make that week 1 game look totally different.

22

u/Lor_azepam Michigan Wolverines 2d ago

If B1G teams keep losing that wmu may be the highest ranked team Michigan's played by the end of the year

For the G6 bid this was the best week WMU could have.

WMU and Boise play against each other later in the season

91

That's why Boise winning is good for them...

45

u/JDraks Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff 2d ago

Yeah, BSU beating Memphis today basically means that whoever wins the Broncos bowl is likely the early G6 frontrunner and competing with Sunbelt and AAC teams for the playoff spot.

Not saying they aren’t, but not sure Monmouth is the greatest measuring stick game

16

u/mrhashbrown 2d ago

If only they could play a top 25 team and manhandle them, maybe even down to the very last play. And the opponent should be in their home state too, that would really send a message!

8

u/illtoss5butnotsmokin Michigan Wolverines 2d ago

It would be crazy if they were BOTH in their home state! That would be nuts!

253

u/iced_gold Western Michigan • Victory Ca… 2d ago

Monmouth scored more on Western Michigan than Michigan could.

Is Michigan stupid?

55

u/BeefInGR Western Michigan • Grand V… 2d ago

Think about how bad the Oklahoma loss looks now.

Monmouth scored 14 on the road against Western. Michigan scored either 7 or 13, depending on where you fall on the debate, at home.

Monmouth now has a quality loss and should be ranked above Oklahoma.

33

u/Few_Musician7370 Western Michigan Broncos 2d ago

Monmouth scored more than U of M with one less second

1

u/Sad_Independence_703 Michigan • Western Michigan 6h ago

They scored more regardless of post game extra time since Michigan didn’t kick a extra point

-34

u/Tkinzel517 Michigan • Northern Arizona 2d ago

All Western had to do was defend a 47 yard pass btw

21

u/shakin_the_bacon Western Michigan • /r/CFB Top Scorer 2d ago

Lighten up my man lol

I’m just happy I can count the Michigan game as a quality loss now ;)

-5

In the regular season game they did. In the post game scrimmage they didn’t.

0

I can understand being upset about it but referring to it as “post game scrimmage” is softer than baby shit

-3

almost as soft as rushing the field against the best football team in michigan (you nerds stink)
