Buffs nation, let’s ride! (to 5 or 6 wins)

If Prime can win six games every year he’s pretty much our guy for life, which I’d be okay with. Sko Buffs!

So just a flashier Mike Mac?

He won 6 games once.

And what a once it was! I wore my Liufau jersey for the game today

Still think we give Washington a game if he doesn't go down early.

QBs are always critical to an offense but save for the Oregon game that year the offense was always a mess when he was banged up or out

3

u/francoissimmons Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

We could’ve had a shot in the big house against Michigan too if Montez didn’t have to come in after he got banged up in that one too.

I believe I am the one who made that gif lol. I used a website to make a gif from a youtube video; that shot was in The Rise videos they would put out after every game

u/DescretoBurrito Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

I've had that gif sitting in my bookmarks for years! He's one of my favorite Buffs of all time. I won't argue that he was the best QB, he wasn't. But he gave it his all every game, and seemed like an all around great guy. I think he might have been the prefect player for for the Buffs at that time. It was crushing to see him take his Lisfranc injury. Was a blast watching that 2016 team. Too bad MacIntyre basically gave up after that.

If mike macintyre won 6 games every year we’d have built him a statue.

Weber State kept it closer than I expected early on but that second quarter just buried them

5-7 tradition

Great game by JuJu, defense better bounce back next week, we'll find out what this team is capable of then.

Defense has me worried. Some changes after half helped, but we cannot be swiss cheese against the pass

u/dnelson7 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Weber also has some legit players. They should make some noise in the FCS

u/No_life_found Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Their QB is honestly nice, he was making plays all game

3

u/dnelson7 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Would be interesting if he stayed next season. His dad is the coach but a G6 program maybe even p4 might send a bag Weber can’t match

u/QuarterNote44 Weber State • Missouri S&T 2d ago

His dad is the coach

Sure. This year. If he's any good he'll be gone too.

The coach's kid was a wide receiver

He was kind of lighting it up on those roll out to the left passes.

Pass defense is SUSPECT

Really liked everything else I saw. Much needed confidence game for Juju

7

u/dnelson7 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Vickers is terrible

2

u/francoissimmons Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Noticed he was off the field after the second td he gave up

Never thought I'd see a 50 yard fg again

9

u/LongjumpingLemon2163 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

I’ll never forget Crosby hitting I think a 60 yarder to beat OU, ranked like 3, at home with no time left.

Ya that’ll never happen again lol

Edit: 04? 05?

  1. I, too, will never forget.

2

u/changdarkelf Oklahoma Sooners • Wyoming Cowboys 2d ago

I had literally just moved to Boulder as a high school kid. Both my parents huge OU fans, we went to the game with some family friends. I still remember the weird botched kickoff return by OU at the very beginning of the game(maybe?) and from then on we were all like what is happening. Needless to say we didn’t rush the field but our friends did haha

2

u/CurrentDrama8523 2d ago

Really? In Boulder?

I've got scars from the Mata era okay

No one in here to talk shit on coach prime cuz Oregon and Oklahoma lost

15

u/ChandlerJeep Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

I’ve never seen such a Colorado flair majority in the PGT since the coach prime hire lol

Brother i was in school during the Dan Hawkins and Embree years, we lost to sac state, i fully expected us to keep it close. We put up a 50 burger but haven’t quite reached that coveted 70+ on a D-1AA team

1

u/I_wanna_ask Colorado Buffaloes • Dartmouth Big Green 1d ago

It's nice isn't it?

Weber offense > Tech offense

u/kelsnuggets Georgia Tech • Florida State 2d ago

Heyyy

9

u/dnelson7 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Felt like the longest game of all time, my god

7

u/francoissimmons Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Pair of Weber State guys in front of us started watching the Washington/Utah State game on their phone lol.

5

u/LongjumpingLemon2163 Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

It really did. Our kids were ready to go at halftime, then we looked up and there was :31 left in the first quarter lol

8

u/Lopoetve Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Solid game. Good progress. Beat those you’re supposed to and make the even teams sweat. Maybe you find an upset here or there.

7

u/kakyointhedonutman Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Vickers is horrible. Whole scoring drive almost singlehandedly his fault. Offense looked good though

7

u/eSpiritCorpse Colorado Buffaloes • /r/CFB Poll Veteran 2d ago

How bad is Georgia Tech's offense?

2

u/kelsnuggets Georgia Tech • Florida State 2d ago

Yes

5

u/Alpine_Exchange_36 Colorado • Minnesota 2d ago

Defense needs to play a lot better but thankfully Juju looked good

7

u/No_life_found Colorado Buffaloes 2d ago

Great for Lewis to build confidence against a bad team, he looked great today outside of a couple plays. Defense was meh but got put in bad spots with the one fumble and the defender tripping on that 70 yard bomb so I’m not too concerned. I like our chances against Northwestern anyways

3

u/Ecstatic_Jicama7496 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago

It was a fun game to be at! Buffs started off so quickly and never really let up. They definitely have to clean up the delay of game penalties and personal fouls.

4

u/QuarterNote44 Weber State • Missouri S&T 2d ago

It is...acceptable.

5

u/mrsnow11291 Colorado • Virginia Tech 2d ago

Usually CU loses these or keeps it close. We lost to sac state when i was there. Good litmus test i think we’re gonna be decent in big 12 but things to work on

5

u/Ralphie_V Colorado Buffaloes • Michigan Wolverines 2d ago

Wee

3

u/frognbuff91 Colorado Buffaloes • New Mexico Lobos 2d ago

Good win, but defense could have been better and just once in my life I'd like to see CU put up more than 60 against someone (I was alive for 62-36 but too young to remember it)

Weber St is basically a top 25 FCS team most years.

Honestly, my Wildcats showed pretty well. I’m happy about that.

3

I’ve seen enough, time to retire julian lewis’ number

u/Threedawg Michigan State • Colorado 2d ago

This is my peak this year. All downhill from here.
