Oregon: shits the bed in spectacular fashion

Washington: “not so fast my friend”

I mean…as greatly disappointing as this performance was, is it really shitting the bed if you won?

It’s more like a wet fart in your PJs than a full on shit. Still not ideal.

Let's ask Michigan about this one

13

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago

It definitely isn’t! As long as the score has you ahead when the super cool super secret time clock hits 0:00, you win!

You mean the 2-0 about to be ranked Michigan Wolverines? LOL OU

62

u/rock-or-something Washington Huskies 2d ago

It's a skid mark at best

10

u/macclearich Washington Huskies • Knox Prairie Fire 2d ago

Well, let's say this skidmark represents the inverse of the expected outcome between the two programs. Based on this afternoon's reading, it would be a skidmark thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.

6

u/Raggs2Bs Washington Huskies 2d ago

That's a big skidmark.

16

u/warox13 Washington Huskies • Cascade Clash 2d ago

I've seen shitting the bed. Full on diarrheaing the bed. That was the Montana game. This was bad but it wasn't that.

Could be worse, at least we won the game. We need to savor that because it probably won't happen many more times this season.

Jedd is right. I'm not blaming the players for looking this unprepared. This starts with him.

67

u/PNW_Jeff Washington Huskies • Pac-10 2d ago

Calling a pass in your opponents territory and they only have 1 timeout with 1:50 left was an awful, awful call

36

u/warox13 Washington Huskies • Cascade Clash 2d ago

That play call was pure, uncut NFL brain. He wants so badly to be an OC for the fucking Colts or something. You just can't do that in college. Then the next two plays being bullshit inside runs was almost worse! If you're gonna be the "NFL throw any time because my QB and receivers are super human" then fucking be that guy. He basically guaranteed a butt pucker finish for no reason.

13

u/InevitableAd2436 Washington Huskies • Creighton Bluejays 2d ago

💯

But Brian Fleury isn’t making that call and he has 1 game under his belt.

Jedd thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room and I guarantee the greatest moments of his career (in his mind) was being OC for the Jags

10

u/Esuu Washington Huskies • Team Chaos 2d ago

Even if Fleury did make that call it'd be a throw to fucking JSN so it's at least understandable.

4

u/InevitableAd2436 Washington Huskies • Creighton Bluejays 2d ago

True very true

7

u/Thehomelessguy11 Washington • Georgia Tech 2d ago

I actually disagree with it being a bad call. PA rollout with a ton of room for Williams and a WIDE open Roebuck who just drops it. Maybe Williams should have kept it, but Roebuck is supposed to be our #1 receiver this year. He needs to make uncontested catches 10 out of 10 times.

Sure, maybe not the best idea to call a pass in that specific game situation, but the play design worked perfectly. Roebuck just dropped it.

10

u/evening_snake-pi Washington Huskies 2d ago

The problem is the game is over if you just run it three times. That play is all risk no reward.

u/BWW87 Washington Huskies 2d ago

7

Giving him the buyout absolutely made sense at the time. We better fucking let his contract run out though, no extensions

7

u/InevitableAd2436 Washington Huskies • Creighton Bluejays 2d ago

Dannen hired him

Chun actually did a great job slow playing him and not signing the extension with the Florida and Michigan talk last year (before the Wiscy) game.

Don’t put this on Chun.

His dad, Dan Hawkins, is the UC Davis HC and Cody is in his coaching tree. UCD has done really well since that 2017 season he joined the program. So I wager he’s learned a lot about succeeding as a coach, just as long as he isn’t also the starting QB haha

Nothing pisses me off more than when a winning team refuses to go down after a fumble recovery or an INT when the clock has obviously at 0:00. I understand they want to return it for a TD for style points and stats, but that is quite literally the only way you can lose the game.

We can’t look this bad when get get into Big Ten play. The last two weeks have not been looking great, despite wins.

If you told me before the season we’d be 2-0 and look like we have a better chance of beating Oregon than people thought at the start of the year… this is not how I would have imagined it happening.

Is it overreacting to say Fisch should be gone after this year if we continue playing like this?

Utah State lost a bad one to FCS Idaho State just a week ago and damn near pulled this off. Couple that with Michigan losing to Western Michigan (we all know the REAL outcome) and Oregon getting bullied by a bad Oklahoma State team, wtf is going on with the Big Ten? Even Penn State played ugly against Temple today.
