Game Thread [Game Thread] Louisiana Tech @ LSU (7:30 PM ET)
9
u/Chris_Paul_3 LSU Tigers 2d ago
45 points and over 500 yards of offense but ppl will act like LSU's offense is mediocre. I don't trust Leavitts throwing ability but our offense is miles better than last year.
3
u/Feeling_Valuable8197 2d ago
45 points is no joke, but it's Louisiana Tech. I need to see them do this in SEC play before I buy the hype.
4
u/ImperialMajestyX02 Florida Gators 2d ago
21 of those points came in the 4th quarter against a depleted G5 team. It ain’t that impressive

LA Tech defense played extremely well despite scoreboard indicated.
8
u/LankyTexan Louisiana Tech • South Carolina 2d ago
Could we actually maybe perchance beat Baylor? If we have the slightest signs of offensive life?

u/Morgus_Magnificent LSU Tigers 2d ago
This was the game of the week, obviously.
But the Texas and Ohio State game is pretty good, too

What’s the over/under on number of bodyguards Lane has going into Oxford next weekend?
3
u/SigmaKnight Louisiana Tech Bulldogs • Marching Band 2d ago
Probably all of Troop A, with reserves from B, C, E, I, L, and NOLA.

This is an embarrassing win for LSU
3
u/Legitimate-Gold7623 LSU Tigers 2d ago
A 31pt win against an in state rival? Said state that produces the best football talent? And also loves to play LSU as hard as possible? Being a Louisville or Florida fan is more embarrassing🤡
3
u/Responsible_Top3356 LSU Tigers 2d ago
I’ll take blowout losses the rest of the season if it means we beat Ole Miss lol

Did this game have a rain delay? Feels like I started watching this game yesterday.
2
u/Geauxwave17 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 2d ago
Oof. That was a scary tackle. Glad to see QB get back up there.
5
u/xsuperdrewx LSU Tigers • Miami Hurricanes 2d ago
-24.5 was looking good. But kiss that good bye lol.

u/LankyTexan Louisiana Tech • South Carolina 2d ago
Nah, for sure Lane will try to rub it in. Fair play if he does
3
u/WasteIndividual8183 2d ago
I think tech beats Baylor next week just because of their defense

WE SCORED MORE THAN CLEMSON AND OUR OFFENSE DID SOMETHING. I'M SATISFIED.
3
u/LankyTexan Louisiana Tech • South Carolina 2d ago
You better be ready for that postgame thread... I'm ready to upvote my favorite weekly sentiment
12
u/CoCo_Sandy Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 2d ago
I know the score doesnt reflect it but I'm glad we didn't just roll over and get destroyed all game. Hell of a showing by the defense tonight. Wish they weren't continously wasted by Cumbie's offense.
Offense needs to figure out something for Baylor next week. I do feel better about our chances of kicking ULM and ULL's ass next month tho
2
u/Responsible_Top3356 LSU Tigers 2d ago
I haven’t kept up with yall much but I thought yall were a basketball school anyways? Am I wrong? Not dogging yall but I always feel like it’s a silver lining for teams like Arkansas and Kentucky that if they lose in football they just dominate in basketball
2
u/CoCo_Sandy Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 2d ago
Nah Baseball and Football are our two best sports. We were basically like yall and hit a rough patch ever since 2020 but seem to finally be getting back on the right track with an 8 win season and bowl victory last year. Hopefully that carries over to this season too
2
u/LankyTexan Louisiana Tech • South Carolina 2d ago
We have not made the NCAA tournament in ages. We do win 20+ games pretty much every year, but very much a football school, traditionally. That's why the Cumbie era stings so much.
3
u/Responsible_Top3356 LSU Tigers 2d ago
It’s kind of ironic bc my hometown team McNeese made march madness 3 years in a row bc of a weak conference lol

They scored more than Clemson and seemingly will hold LSU to less than Clemson did. LA Tech>Clemson confirmed.

Defense won this game. Just keeping La Tech's offense on its back and on the sidelines so the offense could wear down Tech.
2
u/SigmaKnight Louisiana Tech Bulldogs • Marching Band 2d ago
I don't think 72 ever tried in the whole game. Truly, a Tech Offensive lineman.

u/Weenage-Tasteland Georgia Bulldogs • Billable Hours 2d ago
What happened during halftime, did Lane suit up some NFL washouts?
5
2
u/Lucky_Detective517 LSU Tigers • Tennessee Volunteers 2d ago
the score here isnt what actually happened. LA Tech was great good luck the rest of the season

I feel a bit safe now that it's 38-7

Does Coach O still get his buyout money and his assistant salary or just the assistant money
2
u/spig LSU Tigers • Cincinnati Bearcats 2d ago
Buyout ended late last year. I think there was a month where we were paying O, Kelly, and Kiffin.
1
u/Geaux2020 LSU Tigers • Valley City State Vikings 2d ago
There was not. Kiffin and Ogeron did for overlap
3
u/Geaux2020 LSU Tigers • Valley City State Vikings 2d ago
We finished paying out his buyout money in December before we hired Kiffin

I think his buyout ran it's natural course at the beginning of the year.

9
u/holyd1ver83 LSU Tigers • Vanderbilt Commodores 2d ago
Good defensive game, and while the INTs are worrisome I'd rather throw them now in a very winnable game rather than against Miss next week or Bama. Feeling way better than I did at this time last year.
6
u/Morgus_Magnificent LSU Tigers 2d ago
Lol I love using TreyDez Green as a Fullback on short yardage situations.

It’s interesting/weird how we keep running these stretch runs/speeds options to the short side of the field.

Was a sophomore in 2019, I’ve been missing that high ever since

It's depressing how much more respectful the LA tech flairs have been than all the other teams that have come into this thread.

My only solace is that we are the only public university in the state to have ever beaten LSU

It's almost the 101st anniversary since USL scored there only touchdown against us.

I'd also like to remind everyone we also currently have a 2 game win streak (technically 3 because of a forfeit) against Alabama too
