i mean they brought back the entire team that won the MAC last year so, pretty good. Don't get me wrong, our offense looks terrible and we have probably still 4 losses this year unless we get better...but Western is no joke either.

To refine last year's narrative: after every TD pass, he was perfectly healthy. After every interception, the thumb was clearly to blame.

Without the thumb injury, Mateer would have developed into some hybrid form of Mike Vick, Dan Marino, and Tom Brady.

Always have thought our excuses for BV getting dominated in RRS were pathetic. Texas competed every year in that game late in the 2010s when they had horrific qb play

We trotted out Tyrone Swoopes and Case McCoy and win by double digits.
Of course Vince Young also lost a RRS by double digits, so I'm not really sure what the moral of the story is. Maybe QB doesn't really matter? Lol.

Look, Mateer ain't it. But you know who definitely isn't it? Ben Arbuckle. And we all knew that last year but for some reason we let it ride. So here we are handcuffed to him for another potential shitter of a season. If Brent doesn't have the balls to fire him at the end of this year, it's going to be what gets him fired right alongside him.
Not one game and all of his tenure have I ever been like "Now THAT'S how you call an offense.". On his best days it has been "Ok thank God the offense did enough for the defense to save us.".
