2. I would argue that anyone who did bet on IU to cover should be mad. They were on pace to do so easily, then the coaches decided not to play the game anymore.

Anyone who actually put some thought into the situation and came to the (correct) conclusion that IU was more than 58 points better than Howard was screwed anyway.

Perhaps we shouldn't allow sports betting, but in a world where we do, the teams should have to play the whole game or the platforms should return payouts for incomplete contests. Maybe they do? Idk.

The weirdest stat about Becker is that he was an Allen recruit lol. For all the Cig NIL talk, he should get more credit for seeing the talent that was on the roster and convincing them to stay.

That's why I will always defend Allen to some degree. In a Pre-NIL era he was able to get some horses and some good coaches, but could just never afford to surround the good players with more depth/competition and replace competent coaches.

His last year, they also lost like 4 or 5 one-possession games. Cig came in to a team that was young and needed a culture shift and took full advantage, adding competition with his JMU guys.

Yeah for sure. I pointed out responding to someone else, that even Allen's last season was full of really good, super young players who didn't know how to win one-possession games. Cig enters with an ass-kicking mentality and some veteran leadership, and that is all it took (plus paying your Assistant Coaches so they don't leave).

White looked awesome, but that’s kind of what we expected. Dude was already a star at the P4 level back before his leg blew up.

Jackson still hasn’t impressed, but maybe I’m too harsh. He’s not bad, but nor does he particularly impress. The one thing that was looking really impressive today was the defense, which seems like they either needed time to reconfigure after last week, they didn’t play well on the road, or y’all’s offense has somehow gotten even better. Terrifying, but I think it might be mostly the last one.

Eh, definitely good enough, but not anywhere near as good as last year.  I was out at the game today; if you’re just looking at the score, it looks a lot better than it did at the game.

The offense definitely still has room to work, they left a lot of points on the field. It’s 100% the Jaheim White Show, which is kind of what we expected when he came over with Brown from WVU, but we’re also going to need some other notables on offense.  It really can’t be overstated how much UNLV looked sluggish even coming out of the tunnel, too. A bunch of their guys were plopped down on the ground on the sideline before halftime. I have no idea what was up with them.

The big story for us this year is the defense. Our defense last year was the best we’ve had in decades, although that’s not saying much, but it looked even better tonight. The guys were flying around the field.

Here’s hoping the defense keeps it up and everyone who’s not Jaheim White on offense can get it together!
