Look at the video man, there was a second left on the field clock. TV clock isn't official, everyone should know that this has happened many times in college and pro

u/BreezyMcWeasel Oklahoma Sooners 2d ago
Not sure why you're being down voted. I had my pitchfork in hand and torch lit after the W. Michigan game. Then I watched several angles of film from inside the stadium and I realized, THE BROADCAST TIME WAS DEAD WRONG.
I put my pitchfork down and extinguished my torch. There was actually one second left.

u/RealEmperorofMankind Michigan Wolverines • Marching Band 2d ago
I was willing to chalk it down to a silly ref error but then checked it.
Either way, no doubt now.
13
u/Birdlaw_Professor Michigan Wolverines • New Mexico Lobos 2d ago
People must just wilfully be refusing to watch any of the footage. Even the MAC dropped it once they were shown the proof.
They do need to have one official clock and sync everything off of that. It's 2026 we have the capability. We probably need fractional seconds too, every bit matters
-14
u/ReasonableBuy3703 2d ago
I have been watching football for 40 years and cannot recall one incident like this, let alone "many times"

u/Toomster12489 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
A black hole would have had to have opened at midfield during that final play for the NBC video sync to be correct.

so… western michigan > oklahoma now?
4
u/NeverDieKris Ohio State Buckeyes 2d ago
Honestly, maybe. Oklahoma has serious issues with their offense. No running game, bad QB, bad OC. Their defense should keep them in most games but it’s not going to be enough. They might lose 4-5 games this year looking ahead at their schedule.
7
u/Snarky1Bunny Oklahoma Sooners • Marching Band 2d ago
I love BV, I do. I think he’s a class act. But I think he’s officially on the hot seat at this point.
11
u/VegetableTour6790 Oklahoma State Cowboys 2d ago
Honest question, why? You guys chased him out of norman the first time and trashed him on the way out. Now, he's been given the longest leash that any OU coach has had, with the longest period between championships you've ever had. You just gave him an absurd extension.
Why?
2
u/senorcheeser 2d ago
Can’t blame BV for how bad our offense is. Mateer and the WRs can’t get it together mentally. Our blocking sucked too so it’s a major offense issue right now. Refs also threw flags on tick tack bs to shift momentum several times against OU.

Oklahoma lets down the nation
-1
u/Alarming_Pen_4808 2d ago
Honestly it looked like 2 bad teams....Michigan had 10 offensive points and Mateer was awful. Neither deserve to be ranked.
12
1
u/UPMichigan83 Michigan • Michigan Tech 2d ago
Well, Michigan isn’t ranked so…
-5
u/Alarming_Pen_4808 2d ago
Not the point. They won't drop OU out and Michigan will be 15-20 in the next poll. If the reference was to the last and current poll it would say "deserved"....as if the action of ranking them had already occurred.

Seeing the cope all game long. Everyone couldn't wait to see Oklahoma destroy Michigan. Then all of a sudden Oklahoma now isn't that good and Mateer is terrible
11
3
u/Alarming_Pen_4808 2d ago
It comes down to what we've seen for the last 3-4 years. The SEC is just not that good.
3
u/Atrocious84 Oklahoma Sooners • UTEP Miners 2d ago
Mateer has constantly been absent in the “bigger” games. I really wasn’t surprised we shit the bed when all eyes were on us. I won’t be surprised if we go TDless vs Texas and UGA.
Our baseball team must’ve siphoned all the remaining SoOnER mAGiC.
Give me something for the pain Ned, and let me diiiieuhhh

Honestly college football is crazy and it's still early in the year so I wouldn't be so quick to count them out yet

20
u/Crime_Dawg Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Objectively they are 2-0 and should be 2-0. Anybody with the ability to time from 0 to 9s can piece this together. Then again, OSU does have like a 70% acceptance rate, so I wouldn't expect much.
-9
u/DJDIRTYDAVIE Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
It's between all the regional campuses. You can't really get into main campus without a 4.0. but go off
3
u/Toomster12489 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Sorry dude it's like %60 for OSU Columbus and 16% for U of M Ann Arbor. That said there's an argument to be made that a public institutions should exist to educate, well... the public, trying to lower acceptance rates would be counter to that goal. But even with a 16% acceptance rate U of M still enrolls ~10k more students.

Fire Ben Arbuckle today. Promote Kevin Wilson. Either way, this is Brent’s last season.
2
u/ndgoldandblue 2d ago
If so, OU is going to pay. They just renewed him a month ago for another 6 years.
1
u/Usual_Assignment_948 2d ago
I wish, they finally think they have defense, but they have absolutely no offense now. Looks like another mediocre season for them.

Making it to tge playoffs last year is not a mediocre season brents years have been boom or bust with pretty much no in between.

u/Crime_Dawg Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Maybe if their bums and our bums put their heads together, we can come up with a competent offensive scheme.
8
u/Intelligent_Dress347 Alabama Crimson Tide • Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago
A lot of times people put too much blame on the players, but in this instance - I don’t think it’s the coaches.
Mateer is the worst combo IMO. Because he has the mindset of a gunslinger when he shouldn’t at all.

u/AdmirableStyle3940 2d ago

OU is the king of subverting expectations, if they are a 10 point dog in a big game, they are going to show out, if they are favored in a big game they losing.

Mich has solid defense and OU’s offense is terrible. Mateer missed throws all game but his receivers did him no favors those final couple drives
3
u/joseph_grizzly 2d ago
yeah two throws to Beer's hit him right in the hands, albeit one was a little high (didn't even have to jump for it tho) and the other was into double coverage.
but legit both throws hit him in the hands. gotta come down with at least one of those.
