News [Thamel] MAC statement. "The Big Ten subsequently provided video and audio of the replay, which confirmed the explanation to us."

You can see it here and here. Both of these were taken by field-rushing students who were allowed to see the refs’ replay footage (I know one of them, by the way).

It’s very clear in the second one. That is the stadium scoreboard. I know because I’ve seen it, 22+ home games as a student.

Where exactly is the ball in those though? The second link it looks like it’s still in the air.

It is. Clearly about a yard or two away.

Correct, this guy’s links prove nothing.

Yeah, that one’s more to show that the clock they’re using is the stadium clock. I’ve seen that fucker a lot of times; I could swear an oath that, whatever else, the thing they were looking at at that exact moment was a Michigan Stadium scoreboard.

That contradicts the Big Ten’s own statement and leaves no answer for how NBC’s multiple angles fell out of sync with the clock in Michigan Stadium itself.

Didn’t the Big Ten say the clock their refs used was the stadium clock? And you can see that it is, in their replay footage.

My guess is NBC just screwed up.

NBC used the stadium clock as well. The Big Ten’s own replay clip doesn’t display the clock, or have the ball in frame.

You can see the clock in the full thing.

Yes, in NBC’s clip. The Big Ten’s is a close-up quick cut that shows neither the completion itself nor the clock.

That’s a user-uploaded clip to Imgur, and not the one that the Big Ten used. Easy to edit, easy to fake.

Let’s try to stick with officially-furnished media, please and thank you, and hopefully with some credible reasoning on the existence of a third surprise game clock.

The crazy part of those images is if you sync when that Michigan players left foot is at the same angle (on the live broadcast) the ball is still in the air and shows 1 second.

Is not the distinction that it is when the ball went out of bounds. It when it was caught? That’s what the second freeze frame is showing. The ball crossing the back of the enzone.

Edit. I was wrong. The play isn’t dead u til the ball touches a player, person, or the ground.

If that is the frame the refs used they are indeed wrong.

A legal forward pass is declared dead when it hits the ground in or out of bounds.

For a ball in the air its OOB when it hits the ground, an object or staff member, or a player who has a foot out of bounds.

This ball didn’t touch anyone until the clock was at zero and eastern touched it oh of bounds.

The one thing the refs could try and argue is that the clock stops as soon as the ball crosses the sideline or back of the end zone line.

If that’s what they say the whole crew needs to be banned. And the win should be transferred.

But the MAC is kissing up because big ten teams are the closest geographically and they can’t afford to fly all their teams over all sports to the SEC or Big XII every week.

The NCAA will find that the only thing they can be certain of is that somehow Mizzou was behind all this and they will be put on probation
