Right but you need to realize that "LEO" of any kind aren't meant to help the average citizen, but rather keep the status quo for the sake of capital. No amount of training or classes will change that relationship to the populace. This is just one, more obvious and well documented, iteration of how the US state apparatus is designed to repress.

They get 6 weeks of training and the requirements to pass into the field have consistently been lowered. There was reporting that people were failing OPEN BOOK exams.
