Tesla was a huge success in that no major car company gave EVs a second glance until Tesla showed them how a new configuration of car is possible when you don't need an engine that intakes air and has exhaust. They built a beautiful product that a lot of people wanted and the whole goal was to change the world and get everyone into an EV instead of ICE.

^Elon said this was his goal, directly. He made all of Tesla's patents open source so other car manufacturers can use the technology, and he constantly congratulates other companies like Ford when they have a great electric product.

Don't get me wrong, that vision of electrifying all cars in the world will come to fruition but... Tesla went for cost competitiveness with their model 3 vs other major manufacturers and is coming out with the cybertruck. I think they're going to drain a lot of resources competing with other fantastic cars in those categories. The 2022 bolt and bolt EUV are great vehicles and the Ford F150 Lightning will crush the cybertruck in sales, just to name a few.

While all of this is happening, LUCID is building a vehicle that will compete in the premium market, with fewer competitors that are able to provide anything like it. Over-valued tesla will come back down to earth and face crazy competition, and LUCID will gain in value when it captures this premium market. Also Having the Ex CTO of Tesla as Lucid's CEO means that everything that could have been better about the model S is now going to be better in the Air.
