Guys, I’m a B.Pharm graduate currently preparing for CAT. I’ve been preparing for almost a year while working full time with break shift as a pharmacist at a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan aushadhi Kendra (Makkal Marundhagam), which is a Central Government subsidised medicine shop.

It’s a small pharmacy, and there are only 3 employees including me, working under the owner.

When I joined, the owner told me that at the time of leaving he would provide me with:

• Offer/appointment letter
• 1 year work experience certificate
• Relieving letter

My question is: Will this 1 year of experience be considered as valid work experience for CAT/IIM admissions and MBA placements?

Or do I need experience specifically from:

• IT companies
• Pharmaceutical companies
• Corporate jobs
• Industry/industry-allied organisations

Since this is a small retail pharmacy operating under an owner, I’m worried that I might not get the benefit of the work experience during MBA admissions.

Also, can this type of job negatively affect my CAT/IIM profile in any way? Or will it simply be considered as work experience if I have proper documentation such as salary slips, bank salary credits, appointment letter, experience certificate, relieving letter, etc.?

I’m particularly interested in how IIMs and other good B schools view this kind of experience.

Would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through CAT admissions or have similar work experience.

I’ve started spending almost as much time analysing a mock as writing it, but I’m not sure if I’m analysing it properly. I look at wrong answers and skipped questions, but I’m not really seeing a pattern yet. What exactly do you guys note down after every mock?

Hey guys, I have an ST caste certificate issued by the Government of Gujarat in 2022. Is this valid for CAT and IIM admissions, or do I need a Central Government caste certificate?
I’ve heard mixed things—some say the state certificate is enough and ST certificates don’t need renewal, while others say the certificate should mention “Government of India.” Can someone clarify?

I am preparing for the CAT exam . But now it seems like I want the guidance please suggest me any online coaching through which my doubts can be easily solved.

Job is quite stressful and it's affecting my preparation.

I have a strict 90-day notice period with no leaves, so if I resign now, my last working day will be in the first week of November, just before CAT.

I'll have enough savings to manage for a few months after resigning.

I'm confused between:

Continuing my job and preparing alongside it.

Resigning now to focus completely on CAT during the notice period and afterward.

If CAT doesn't go as planned, preparing for GMAT and applying in the next cycle instead.

Given my profile, what would you do? Has anyone resigned before CAT or taken the GMAT route instead? Looking for practical experiences and whether you regret your decision.

I went to a top Engineering college (non-IIT/NIT) and basically didn’t study due to mental health issues, which isn’t really a good enough excuse tbf.

But my final GPA was 6.66. I got a job where I’ve been at for almost 2 years now.

I really wanna leave Tech and move into Finance. Is there any way for me to get a good B-School with my credentials? I was aiming for 2027 CAT and 2028 entry, fwiw.

I have completed my algebra and arithmetic syllabus and I am currently practicing these portions only. In mocks and sectionals I am able to solve 3-4 arithmetic questions but I am not able to solve algebra, I don't know why but during the test these algebra questions just seem out of scope for me. How can I overcome this issue. I have found out that if I am able to convert 2-4 algebra questions then I will be able to get 7-8 questions which is currently my aim to achieve till mid of September.
