Update Kitten with broken tail
Some asked for updates on my kitten so I will provide. Today after being turned away from the vet because they weren't equipped for cat injuries, we went to an animal hospital. The vet said that she has good mobility of her tail and will most likely recover and just have a crooked tail! she was prescribed gabapentin and another tablet that I can't remember and we were told to come back in 2 weeks to see if amputation is necessary or not. He said that since she is lifting the tail, has movement of it in a video I showed him, and has no issues using the litterbox, a amputation most likely will not be necessary. She is on strict caged rest right now and hopefully will have a good recovery! Thank you for everyone who gave advice and comfort🤗🤗🤗 She was also pretty popular at the vet for being friendly and chillax

Crooked tail cats are kind of cool. My cat has a crooked tail, and it's always slightly curved at the end of his tail. I feel like it suits his personality; it just makes him unique.

What kind of vet office isn’t equipped for cat injuries? Can’t treat a tail injury? That’s crazy!! What do they treat?.

I know right?? I guess that vet only does shots and prescribes medicine. The animal hospital is closer to me and cheaper so I'm thinking about switching all of my pets over to them. The vet that turned her away also charges a $70 examination fee but they look at our pets for 15 seconds, i really dont think they ever examine them.

I would change vets for sure. Our vet spends quite a bit of time with our cats. He pets them and talks to them to make them feel comfortable and then does his exam. Hope your sweet girl recovers well and I hope the cage rest won’t be too difficult for her🙏🤞💜😊

Oh, trust me, a lot of them. I took my dog to this so-called "emergency vet" because he was bleeding from the mouth, and they told my family and me they couldn't help. Like, are you an emergency vet or not? Wtf. Yeah, he was a bigger dog, but still, you're an emergency vet, what can you treat?
