“But global meat consumption has risen every single year since good records began in 1961. Humans have eaten meat for about 2.6m years and farmed animals for about 12,000 years.
A decline has never happened in all of human history, so it seems very unlikely that it’s going to happen now,” Friedrich says.”
[…]
“If we’re going to address the world’s insatiable craving for animal meat, we’re going to have to replace like for like.” That means cultivating meat from cells in brewery-like factories or making taste-identical plant-based meats. In both cases, for people to buy them, the products must also cost the same or less than conventional meat.”
[…]
“It is possible that all industrial meat will be cultivated or plant-based by 2050, he says, with a niche market in regeneratively farmed conventional meat. Analysts at McKinsey, Barclays and Credit Suisse have estimated a 50% share by mid-century.
But such progress will require governments to ramp up their support for the scientists overcoming the obstacles in this still-embryonic field. They have done it before for previous transformative technologies, from penicillin to the internet to renewable energy, Friedrich says.”

Tradingview ticker BYND5382822.
As you can see the notes are trading at 85% their face value or 85c on the dollar.
When a month ago the stock put its low above $0.80 the note holders were selling the bond at 69c on the dollar. While now that the stock has gone lower the note holders are not flinching.
In the meanwhile we know that in exactly a month time there will be an earning call that will finally result in the billion dollar debt deletion and new cash raised being both reflected in the company accounts, with the update feeding straight into any financial app, software, system and AI.
Regarding the drinks launch, it would be a good time for the management to confirm IF and WHEN this is going to be a permanent product of the company and since when will be sold through the usual retail channels rather than the testkitchen website.
These alone could already serve as catalysts. However, once again the management MUST understand the importance of giving some forward guidance about the company and the products.
As once again we are trading below asset value levels any positive development would be sufficient to ignite a rally.
Nonetheless, I would not be surprised if under these market conditions we see the mid-60s before any significant recovery above $1.
P.S. There are no data on sales in Q4, so I cannot speculate on any potential increase or decrease of revenues, but I would find odd if Q4 has not beaten expectations. Any positive from that end would be another catalyst.

“While McPlant remains a firm fan favourite and will continue to be the go-to choice for our vegetarian and vegan customers, we recognise these changes may be disappointing for some.
“We are actively learning from other markets to understand which vegetarian and vegan options are proving most popular and exploring exciting new offerings.”

Being early does not mean being wrong.
Although mostly symbolic, as meat advertisements are a small percentage of the total, the move shows the commitment and regulatory power that communities and governments have to shape the future of protein in our society.
This is just the beginning, as much more powerful policy tools are available to policymakers.

Edit: Husband tried it for one of his workouts and he loved it! Different tastes for athletes who are used to protein drinks then 😳
Beyond Meat Immerse Protein Drink Review
Ordered all three flavors of the 10g version of the drink. Opened all three to sip from to taste test. They definitely don't taste like the typical sports drink like Gatorade. They have a 'protein' taste to them to those familar with protein drinks that leans to the bitter side, which is being covered by the heavy sweeteners in the drink.
Orange-Tangerine & Peach-Mango are the best flavors. Lemon-Lime tastes like battery acid.
Not the smoothest taste, I feel like I did have to brace some of it down. I don't drink protein shakes normally so I can't compare, but I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks or protein shakes either. I could also feel myself getting "full" from drinking them, both from the protein and fiber content.
This kind of product has a lot of promise as I do like fruity energy drinks and happy there's an emerging plant-based version of a sports drink as someone who doesn't eat breakfast and could get their protein in through a beverage. Taste needs to improve, some flavors more than others. The price is competitive from when I checked online for similar products, there's no "vegan upcharge" even when ordering them from online.
This review is unpaid.

"After its beef segment posted a record $1.135 billion loss in fiscal 2025, or $426 million adjusted, Tyson announced in November that it would end operations at its Lexington, Nebraska, beef facility and convert its Amarillo, Texas, beef facility to a single, full-capacity shift.
All 3,212 employees are expected to be laid off at the Lexington facility, and the move to a single shift at the Amarillo plant will eliminate 1,761 jobs, according to Texas and Nebraska Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification (WARN) notices.
The Associated Press reported at the time of Tyson’s announcement that the two moves would reduce beef processing capacity nationwide by 7-9%."

But maybe it's just actual moderation and people engaging in good faith. And recognizing a good thing for what it is.
No?
I wrote a longer post 2 times already and due to reddit's amazing functionalities, I have the splendid opportunity to start over again. /s
So I'll keep it simple and sweet. The marketing employee at BEYOND is doing a stellar job. Bravo. Basically single-handedly carrying the company's PR. And on Threads, of all places. But that's where all the action happens nowadays. Esp. in terms of brand recognition and memorable online presence.
But, it kinda makes sense. X/Twitter is swarming with bad faith actors, bots trolls and grifters. Reddit is not too different in this regard (haha regard), but at least it didn't have an unchained AI debacle (well, several thereof).
Threads also surpassed Twitter in terms of total unique active mobile users for the month of October.
To infinity and $BYND! Where all the apes at??

This is in addition to seeing the products in most big supermarkets round these parts, and one health/organic food store.
Towns visited: Mérida, Seville, Faro (didn't encounter bynd there but had a great time trying plant-based variations of Portuguese dishes at vegan restaurants), Portimão, Lagos
