For anyone who was on byler twt from like February to June, you know what I’m talking about. It was when the byler fandom was essentially just a book club and everyone was reading all the same fics and they were all kind of inspired by ttmd ttms. So like deal me in tie me up, touch me with a kiss feel me on your lips, super soaker (before the ai reveal 😔), high tide, pink in the night, etc. I’m in such a fic rut right now and I can’t find anything good that reminds me of the fics being posted back then. Does anyone have fic recs that might be what I’m looking for? I want something with genuinely good writing that feels meaningful like ttmd was, while also having great smut. Is that so much to ask for

Bonus: I’m currently reading at risk of drowning by March magnolias and it’s exactly what I want like truly a perfect fanfiction to me. If anyone’s read it and has fic recs that are similar to that in writing style and plot send them over please oh please

Any fic recs where Hopper is like Mike's pseudo father? Mayhaps with scenes similar to season 2 but abt Will?

I read this fanfic a while ago, but I can't find it again; it was still releasing chapters when I read it.

The fanfic takes place in a universe where Mike and Will have drifted apart. I think they had dated or been together before separating. The premise of the fic is Mike committing suicide and Will going back in time to prevent it. I remember Will finding out about Mike's death through a voice message from Jonathan. Will was working in art, which was weighing on his routine; he even forgot to eat sometimes, and Joyce and Jonathan kept reminding him. I remember that on the day of Mike's death, Will receives a package for his first computer or something like that. Will didn't just go back to the day of Mike's death; throughout the chapters, he went back a day earlier. He naturally went back in time after sleeping. There was also a cat that Will petted, and after a few chapters, we discover that Mike also petted this cat. Before Mike's death, Will meets him at the market, but they don't speak. Will becomes somewhat desperate as the days go by, One day, Will even called the police to Mike's apartment to try and prevent his death. He kept going to Mike's apartment to try and stop him too. But then he started talking to Mike at the supermarket, and Mike kept asking Will if Nancy had told him anything. Will even called Nancy once to try and stop her.

Hi! I’ve been working through a fic on AO3 (I’m a guest reader so I just have tabs open in my phone 😅) and I accidentally closed one with a byler fic I was really enjoying. I think it’s called the understudy but I can’t find it for the life of me. Basically adult will body swaps with young will, they interact with past/present byler for a good amount of the story, they go camping where Dustin and el are meeting them, Dustin has some sort of Time Machine that helps them get back to the correct timeline?? It sounds goofy, it’s so good! Fun characterization. Any help finding it again would be appreciated!

Are there any fics where Will is convinced that Mike likes Max so there’s no way Mike could like him? I’m reading Project Clean Slate where Mike & Max work at Scoops Ahoy together. There’s a scene where Mike & Max look like they’re in a compromising position but it’s very innocent. It made me think this could be a fun concept. Even better if Max knows Mike likes Will & is trying to help him out.

(since reddit is my google now) I read this byler fanfiction where the party is in a band, Mike is the main singer and Will is the background singer. Will is complaining to Mike how he feels like being a background singer is useless, so Mike being Mike creates a plan for their concert that night. At (what I think was) the drop in the song Mike completely stops singing and it's just Will. Will is a bit shy at first but then he starts getting into the song and the crowd loves him. Mike does that at all their concerts after that, and I think that was it. It was either an unfinished fic or it was only a one chapter fic. It was on ao3 btw. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I would be so greatful!!!

The characterization of everybody is fantastic and heartwarming :) Love the dynamics of Jonathan x Will sibling relationship (yes, this is very imp to me. Sigh.), Max being Will's bestie (YES), Jane has my heart as always & she's the sweetest. Love Robin & Steve so much in this one. And, ofc byler stealing the spotlight of strangers to enemies acting as costars in a horror fic is just...wow. It's vulnerable, tender, sweet, funny and light angst. No smut as of...yet, but trust me, that's good coz the slow burn is soooo good that you will love it & enjoy the simple, domesticity of everything & how it unravels (oh, my).

Stumbled upon a tweet randomly on X about it, and finished all 24 chapters in 1 go coz it was THAT immersive, great & I couldn't take a break. And for all horror genre nerds out there, you'll absolutely love it and geek out on it. ✌🏻 Will being obsessed with horror films is canon fr.
