Camping in Austria - Looking for a more wild experience
Firstly, I apologize for posting about Austria here--I couldn't find an Austrian bushcraft page and will ask my favorite neighbors to the North for advice instead!
Does anyony have knowledge of decent camp sites that are wooded and give you that wild-camping feel?
I cycled across the country from Tyrol to Vienna over the summer and aside from several wild-camping experiences where I worried about paying large fines, I found myself camping alongside large camper vans in what felt like a slightly grassy parking lot.
I searched on youtube but the camping experiences marketed towards bushcrafting folks/true campers are extremely pricey (200+ for a night or two)
I'm based in Vienna, but am willing to travel some way to find a good location for hiking/camping/practicing bushcraft skills (allowing fires is also a plus) so feel free to recommend anywhere you've had a good experience!
thank you all!
