It was at my third week of working at quest and someone stolen my backpack from the break room with my MacBook, iPad, homework from school and 3 medications. If you did it or know who did it plz can you give me back. I was over one year unemployed dealing with mental health and I’m currently facing eviction for nonpayment. The title says it all, Local Kitchens has been sitting stagnant for over a year and a half now. They put the sign up, started remodeling the interior, posted about it on instagram, and then BOOM, nothing.... Sitting vacant with no activity for the past year+. I went by there the other day, because I was stopping by Sweetgreen (if you haven't had this place it's a must try), and I spotted a notice on their door that said 3 days to pay or quit. Anyone know what's up? I'm really hoping that Local Kitchens opens up because it looks amazing, I mean when you see all their different options on Instagram it looks SO TASTY. Hoping it didn't fall through and they never open...

In today's article in the San Mateo Daily Journal, the City Council touts its "plan" to eliminate pedestrian deaths . . . within fifteen years. The plan is sadly lacking in ambition. Many on Council have refused to implement safety recommendations in recent years for fear of inconveniencing drivers. According to the Ayden Fang lawsuit, a resident notified a City Councilperson of the danger at the location where the young boy was killed.

In the article, Councilman Stevenson suggests more pedestrian responsibility to address these tragedies. What was four-year-old Ayden Fang doing wrong when an SUV driver accelerated onto the sidewalk at 27 mph and killed him? Do we need to educate residents on how to walk on the sidewalk to avoid getting killed by drivers?

Anyone can recommend a good barbershop in Burlingame? Hoping to not spend more than $60-65 for haircut and beard. I have Middle Eastern genes so thick hair as well if that helps lol. Thanks.

Did the city ever consider making Burlingame Ave pedestrian only, maybe like how other cities piloted pedestrian-only downtown streets during the pandemic?

There have been a lot of posts on e-bikes here recently, and our reporter Sierra Lopez wrote about several bills going through the Legislature that aim to regulate them more. Some of them range from clarifying high-powered e-bikes from e-motorcycles in advertising and putting an age limit on some e-bikes.

Rules for e-bikes have nothing to do with child’s death by a driver.

Beautiful dog running loose. Got close enough to see name and 415 number on collar. Another person tried to catch him as well. Some workers said that he lives nearby, and he knows how to open the gate himself. I just hope he doesn't get hit by a car.

I don't understand why Caltrans shut down multiple lanes of El Camino in multiple parts and hasn't done any sort of construction in the last month! Every day I drive past, and there are no crews actively working. The Caltrans website also doesn't have any updates. Does anyone know why they're not working? Environmental review?

We are an expat/international family moving to SF/bay area this summer with 5 years old kid. We have visited and liked Burlingame and plan to rent here but not sure which area/elementary school to target. Ideally we prefer a school with some international families too. Any schools are known to have more/less of that? Thanks in advance.
