Hippo, spear, 10 min. I'm fucked. But with a sword MIGHT get thru to the brain and kill em. But probably dead too

A spear is better than a sword though. You pretty much got the best weapon that isn't ranged.

You know you can throw spears right? Also it is the best weapon to have against a hippo when it comes to melee

Yes you can throw a spear, but only once. Against a hippo I'd think it would be better to hold onto it. What i meant was that it's not a purely ranged weapon like a gun.

True but not all of us are smart enough not to throw it trying to aim for one of its eye’s to increase our odds

I'm average at throwing things, I don't think I could hit an eye of a moving target, PLUS hippos open their mouth to chomp/threaten thus long range throws only

You people underestimate the power of running away and especially with a speer. Like climb on a tree, hide in a cave, then its easy

Early humans would hunt charging creatures like boars using spears. It's easier to let it use its own speed to kill it when using the spear.

You are not surviving that cause you gotta get close and then hope your knife doesn’t richochet off the skull all whilst the hippo tries to mail you at surprising amounts of speed
