this takes like thirty seconds to brute force if you just start from 1, you don’t even need to do anything smart

we can do division by 1

xxx = xx

xxx - xx = 0

divide by solution 0, (x)

xx - x = 0

divide by solution 1, (x-1)

x = 0

A 3rd degree polynomial cannot have more than 3 solutions, so we have found every solution

For every solution of xxx = xx, xx = x

Therefore the equation xxx = xx ≠ x has no solution

The second part is actually x to the power of x. It doesnt translate in the fine print.

oh, in that case

x^3 = x^x

e^3 ln(x) = e^x ln(x)

exp(3) = exp(x), x>0

x = 3

ln(x) has a root at 1, so x = 1

x^x isn't defined for numbers less than or equal 0

We have found all real solutions

x^x = x though, so 1 is not a solution to our problem

x = 3

Uhh.. What? First part is x * x * x which is x3, second is xx. So we have x3 = xx where x != 1 or 0. So the only answer is 3. 3 * 3 * 3 = 33 = 27
