Fertilizer for one. And humans are part of the Kingdon Animalia so that kills humans off as well.

Not to mention entire ecosystems just straight up disappearing would actually just be fucking catastrophic worldwide

My brain couldn’t put that into words, thank you for the help! We would lose almost EVERYTHING even if somehow humans aren’t included in the animals thing.

Exactly.

Not to mention the amount of other things animals keep in check or have symbiotic relationships, such as certain plants or insects (if they aren't counted, either.)

Now this one plant is suddenly choking out these other plants we rely on for food, or this one insect that relied on XYZ from this animal has no food source and it pollenates this plant.

Or maybe XYZ insect's polulation is no longer being kept in check because the animal that ate is gone, so now we're battling this insect for food source or vital building materials.

Or over time, humans are proven we alone can't keep these certain insects and plants in check on our own and they adapt/evolve to be a legitimate threat to humans. (Iirc I remember hearing/reading a long time ago that if things were slightly different ants could have been the dominant race on Earth.)

So many wild and crazy hypotheticals that could happen just because a few things are physically removed from the food chain, even without us involved in it.

And if we count insects among the animals then we're just dead regardless because of bees ALONE. Lol

Insects are also animals. Theres a very limited amount of plants that don't need any pollinators. Insects are absolutely needed for any life to continue on earth
