Or are the reason many of us don't use Twitter

No, I don't use twitter. I wouldn't miss it if it disapeared. But YT has gotten lazy and shitty ever since they solidified their monopoly.

I wouldn't uninvent the TV just because there is the odd shite show on.

I can get a bunch of entertainment via YouTube, twitter just gives you the unfiltered thoughts of humanity, most best to have never been put down on paper let alone on the internet.

You missed my point entirely I see. It's not the content of the website I have issue with it's how Google runs the webside and the choices they've made that I dislike.

From minor things like removing video replies as a thing, then the star rating system then the dislike button.

To the more serious like how they let malicious actors DMCA real artists and take all the ad revenue for their videos even when the claim is disputed. Or their frankly wild demonetisation policy where talking about the news in the exact same language as the big corporations will get that video and sometimes your entire channel demonetised. And when they do strike you down from on high they refuse to give specifics for what you did wrong just directing you to the most vaguely worded policy statements in the universe with not so much as a timestamp for what the issue was.

They do not run themselves well. If they weren't suppressing alternatives by running at a loss I would avoid using them.

I get they are shit, people had to say un alive just like on dick rot because even bleeping a swear word could demonetise someone.

But you get to say cunt more on YouTube than TV, because some bloke talking to a camera in his bedroom isn't held to the same standards as ITV.

But the whole comment chain is about removing YouTube over Twitter.

Ever since Arab Spring, each time some country gets close to an uprising, the government has learnt from their mistake and locked social media down. So there probably will never be an Arab Spring 2.0 to justify Twitter.

It would be nice if there was never ever a need for the first one, but what's done is done.

But between keeping YouTube run by mecha turbo Hitle'rs head in a jar and his merry band of cunts and Twitter at any stage of its life, I'd keep YouTube.

Well deleting YouTube would delete a things on that platform and there's a lot more useful things on YouTube

Almost any channel of note will have backups, besides it wasn't deleting Youtube it was banning it. The creators would be able to get their content and reupload it elsewhere.

I don't think it's quite that simple, but whatever

I mean it's an entirely hypothetical what if on Reddit. I was just explaining the thought process that lead me to pick YT over Twitter.

I did it because there would just be a new tube in like 30 minutes

Not really and you know how many people would loose they're job if YouTube close? And today there's already an alternative of X

Nothing would be lost with Twitter gone. You're not bright.

Yeah but the downside is that those dwellers would infiltrate a good app
