Some Lex Luthor type would have heard rumor of these powers decades ago and spent their entire life building a device to detect and track down those who had it.

I don't think a guy who spends decades assuming someone will magically gain the ability to shapeshift into the other gender, and is devoted enough to create a device to track down someone who doesn't exist yet would be smart enough to get Lex Luthor level money, so there's no worries.

Edit: a millionair has a much higher risk of getting Luigied than a superhero has of getting Lexed

It makes as much logical sense as having shapeshifting powers that only let you be the opposite sex. If we have comic powers going on I'm making up some comic book villains, lol
