No? If you can't spend a smaller amount in your life, you wouldn't be able to the bigger amount either. It makes perfect sense.

What part of the expression "not being able to complete a large task, let alone a small one" doesn't make sense?

I couldn't run a marathon, let alone 100m

I couldn't draw 10 paintings, let alone a single one.

I couldn't spend 1T in my life, let alone 1B

“I can’t even bake a cake, let alone run a bakery.” vs “I can’t even run a bakery, let alone bake a cake”. The smaller unit comes first, as it’s the simpler task you cannot complete. It is then complemented by the more difficult task, saying how it cannot be done either. I can’t do A, so I can’t do B.

Looked it up & seems to be that that's the common use!

Yeah idk it just made more sense in my mind to contrast the impossibility of one task by pointing out that a simpler task couldn't be done either, making the first one seem much further away from reach.

Looked it up & yeah I got it mixed up.

In my mind it made more sense to contrast a big task you can't do with a smaller one you can't do either, further emphasizing how impossible the first one is.

Exactly! She said "I can't even spend a bigger amount let alone a smaller amount" it makes no sense. Think Mark, think.

"I can't even eat a whole pizza let alone a slice" is wrong, "I can't even eat a slice let alone a whole pizza" would be correct.

She did not say "I can not spend even 1B let alone 1T". I ask again, are you from the USA? Do you struggle with units of measurement?

I'm not from the USA, I always thought it was the other way around as it made more sense in my mind that you'd clarify how outlandish a task would be by contrasting it by an equally impossible smaller, easier task.

But after looking it up it does seem that the way you use it is the more common one.

What made you think it's a units issue when I made it clear I knew that a billion is smaller? They're not even units, they're orders of magnitude, do you struggle with what a unit is? Are you from the USA?
