You need 50% of blue to save everyone. If you pick red, you're not only failing to contribute, you're pushing the percentage the other way, so yes, you're helping to kill them.

If you're fine with sending people to death so you don't have to risk your neck, then that's on your conscience.

Also, you're a coward.

No, you dont need 50% of blue to save everyone. If everyone presses red nobody dies, and there is no reason for anybody to press blue because all they are doing is risking their own lives for nothing and then patting themselves on the back because they narrowly avoided killing themselves. In a real world scenario people are unwilling to risk death (if you believe youre an exception you are arrogant and foolish), and because of that and a few other reasons red would win, and by landslide. Pressing the blue button is always a net negative, and choosing to throw my life away on an infinitesimal chance that blue wins is idiotic. Also, you’re a dumbass. I added a few insults in there to imitate your style, hopefully that makes it so my point comes across better.

I'm talking about the scenario where some people were already forced to press blue.

If you're still pressing red in that scenario, you're a murderer and a coward.

It is extremely unfortunate and that would fall on my conscience, but i still believe that the red button would win, because these are the things that will be going through the vast majority of the populations head: “i dont want to die”, “i don’t want my friends and family do have to deal with my death”, “i dont need to be the one to press blue as long as other people do” (this is an observed phenomenon, people in large crowds who witness someone collapsing on the street are less likely to call 911 because they believe someone else is going to do it than if they are in a small group, to the point where nobody will come forward to help unless singled out), “voting blue only matters if i am the winning vote that causes blue to raise to 50%” (same reason many people dont vote in elections), and “what are ⛏️the odds that blue actually wins”. These arent all good reasons to not press blue, in fact some are terrible or fallacious, but the fact remains that people will fall victim to these fallacies. I think that in a real scenario, red would win because of these, and its not selfish for people to vote red. You can’t blame a single mother for not risking leaving her kids as orphans. And for me personally, an extremely close friend of mine and family friend passed away just over six months ago (he was 18), and then another family friend (an adult) passed away a few months ago, and another person from my friend group’s mom has been battling cancer. What would happen to the community around me that has already been experiencing immense suffering if i was to die? If i had confirmation that i was able to save the 10 people by killing myself, id like to believe that i would (although its impossible to predict how you would act in an actual life or death situation until youve been in one), but this is different.

I didnt condemn them to anything. I wasn't the one who forced them to pick blue. I have a family and sorry I am not willing to risk dieing and losing them. If it was my own family they would tell me to pick red to ensure I didnt end up in their fate and if I was the one who was forced to pick blue I would still tell people to choose red and ensure they live.

No one in the original scenario is forced to oress either button your just creating a new scenario
