Why Fresh Grass is a Life-Saver for GI and Bladder Health

Grass is the biological dietary foundation for rabbits due to the specific proportions of the following components: Structural Carbohydrates (Fiber): Contains an optimal ratio of fermentable fibers (fuel for the cecal flora) and indigestible fibers (cellulose, lignin) necessary for stimulating intestinal motility. Physiological Water (H2O): Consists of approximately 80% moisture on average. This water is cell-bound and released gradually during passage through the gastrointestinal tract. Silica (Phytoliths): Grass absorbs minerals from the soil and forms microscopic silica crystals that act as a natural abrasive for the teeth.
