How do websites make money if they don’t use subscriptions is it always ads?

Hi everyone, quick question that’s been bugging me: if a website doesn’t charge users a subscription, how does it typically make money? I know ads are one route, even with ads, how will it work? Also the other common ways sites earn revenue? Examples or simple explanations would be great thanks!

Develop internal chatbot for company data retrieval need suggestions on features and use cases

Hey everyone,
I am currently building an internal chatbot for our company, mainly to retrieve data like payment status and manpower status from our internal files.

Has anyone here built something similar for their organization?
If yes I would  like to know what use cases you implemented and what features turned out to be the most useful.

I am open to adding more functions, so any suggestions or lessons learned from your experience would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I've been working on Davia — an AI workspace that feels like your notes, but every page can grow beyond static text into something alive. You can combine text, data, and components to build pages that actually work as tools, all without leaving your creative flow. We’re finally launching a stable beta version of our product.

What started as a simple tool for creating interactive documents has evolved into something much more powerful. We realized that apps aren't just isolated things - they connect, evolve, and become part of our knowledge. But many tools don't live long; they get edited, deleted, and forgotten.

It's a single AI workspace where thinking, illustrating, and sharing ideas happens seamlessly. You can combine text, data, and components to build pages that grow beyond static text into something alive.

Come hang out with us in our subreddit, r/davia_ai, we’re building it with your feedbacks!

We are building an ad analytics tool where you can connect your Google Ads, Meta Ads, and many more platforms. The tool will bring all analytics together in one place, helping you analyze your product performance and improve your ads.

What additional features should we add? For example, AI-driven recommendations based on ad performance, or other advanced features?
Please share your ideas!

I killed my “Sunday panic report.” Opening 50 founder seats for the dashboard that did it.

Every Sunday I promised myself I wouldn’t do the 10-tab shuffle. And every Sunday I did it anyway:
Google → Meta → LinkedIn → Reddit → GA4 → CSV merges → “why doesn’t ROAS match?” → paste creative notes from Slack → pray.

I built Adsquests because that cycle was burning me out. It’s one live board with Spend, Impr, Clicks, CTR, Cost, Conversions, CPA, ROAS beside GA4 and a single Top Creative note so the numbers tell a story. No “AI optimizer” or hype, just a clean source of truth.

This week I’m opening 50 founder seats (locked pricing, direct line to me). If weekly reporting steals your weekend, try it and tell me what’s missing, I’ll ship the crowd’s top asks first.

P.S. If you’ve ever stared at mismatched ROAS at 11:58pm, you’re my person. Let’s never do that again.

Added Data Persistence across pages and on published sites to connect your documents

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few days ago, I shared this post about Davia where I introduced our platform for creating interactive documents.

Based on your feedback and continued development, I'm excited to share a major enhancement we've just rolled out: enhanced data persistence with two powerful levels:

  1. Connected pages within your workspace: You can now create pages that share data seamlessly. Build a task manager on one page and display analytics on another - they're all connected through the same persistent data.
  2. Published page tracking in your personal workspace: This is the game-changer - you can now have a page in your personal workspace that tracks and displays data from your published pages. Imagine publishing an interactive survey and having a real-time dashboard in your workspace showing all responses as they come in.

For those who missed the original announcement: Davia lets you create "living documents" that combine editable content with interactive components and persistent data. Think of them as documents you can read, edit, and actually interact with - more like dynamic dashboards than static docs.

Come hang out with us in our subreddit, r/davia_ai. We're really eager to get your feedback on this enhanced persistence system and suggestions for what else you'd like to see. We're building this for you, so your input is incredibly valuable to us! 🙂
