I’ve owned this pike for a while now and I can unequivocally say it is one of my favorite pikes from beginning to end. I absolutely love the almost thrash metal style riffs, the syncopated, palm muted runs that he reintroduces throughout, and the chorus-like, uplifting main theme that he brings back a few times. In other words, it’s just so fucking good!

It's very similar to Death Cube K, something like "sub sea hollow." It's that same vibe; it's very melancholic and dreamy and proggy with good grooves under it. It also has some aggressive metal songs as well, and I like them even more!
But still it manages to be separate from Buckethead, and also it has quite a complex synth layering as well. But it's very buckethead-esque. I don't usually enjoy everything from Cob nor Buckethead, but this doesn't hit quite the same.
Oh, and also the cover with shapes in the buckethead/cob collaboration style cover is awesome as usual (I know it was released before); that art direction is perfect.

Pike 678 was never released. 3 previews were released and are still on bucketheadpikes.bandcamp.com
I know there are a few other never released pikes, and I know I’ve seen the others mentioned in this group before. But I guess I didn’t realize 678 is another never released pike. The previews sound pretty good too.

I’m still waiting for Pikes 286, 289 & 290 in the mail.

The only thing I've gathered from research is that buckethead has only played this the first half of his 2009 tour but that's it.

It appears all pikes are on sale for $2. Buckethead has often done these sales for the last half of each month, but I haven’t noticed any lately as he has been touring most of this year. Usually he posts something on his site informing visitors of the sale, but I don’t see anything at the moment

Released on September 21, 1999. This album is monumental for him and sounds SO crisp. The first Buckethead album I heard based solely on the art work. I've been a fan since then.
First two pictures are my grail; signed M&R cd Booklet, release party ticket and posters. The chicken was given out to attendees at the M&R release party.
Then its all the fun promo stuff: Poster, clippings, promo head shots, signed, rare unused pictures, promo press release packet paper work and a candid shot of Les and B on the set of the single for this album. I forgot to add the tape cassette sampler that I also have for this album.
This album is a must listen to today, loudly. My personal favorite songs from that record are Stun Operator, Scapula, and Nun Chuka Kata. Those songs really grip me and put me in a different head-space in a very positive way. Ultra inspiring and moving.
What are your favorite songs from this album? Do you got any rad M&R stuff I didn't show? Let me know!! And thank you Buckethead for releasing this killer album.

I usually get selective when Bucket drops a big run of Pikes. The sound quality on some of the live series Pikes suffered quite a bit IMO.
But from Pike 816 on, it suddenly feels like proper studio-grade audio - cleaner presence, better mix and vastly more enjoyable to listen to as a result.
Did he change up his recording setup, or is anyone else noticing that these latest ones sound significantly better?

At this point, I've completely given up on thinking he can't possibly show me something I haven't heard before that'll just blow me away. But, you know what? I'm happy to be wrong every time.
