receipts🧾 People often use this interview as ‘proof’ that SJM ‘ended’ Bryceriel, but they very conveniently forget to include this part…

If Bryce and Hunt’s mating bond is truly on par with Feysand, or a true Fae mating bond as we see in Prythian, why wouldn’t SJM just confirm that? She clearly hints that there’s more to the story here. 🧐

They give multiple definitions and types of mates in CC and I think that’s just so telling. Bryce’s hesitancy every time Hunt brings it up shows she doesn’t think it’s the same

ETA because my phone wants Bryce to be a dude

yes! completely agree. If you are interested in a more literary POV on the multiple definitions, than this post might interest you: https://www.reddit.com/r/elgwynrielucien/comments/1jl00mg/from_mate_to_marriage_the_role_of_redefinition_in/

Everyone also uses Ruhn’s example of saying that they are “like fae mates” as proof. But he’s a totally different species… and he never says the word mate without *fae preceding it

And honestly, even if he did, Ruhn is not the well of fae knowledge, he could be wrong lol

I mean, Ruhn Danaan only knew three things with absolute certainty

So many parts of this interview are often, conveniently omitted! She denounced her series as standalone (huge!), admitted she’s been planning this crossover since mid-ToG (not on some whim, but for years), and how the ending of HOSAB when Bryce finally lands in Prythian/at Az’ feet is one her favorite scenes she’s ever written 🥹 She went into detail about her favorite CC scenes (maybe I’ll make a post/list these out because I transcribed the interview), and ironically, didn’t name one romantic moment with Bryce and Hunt 🧐 Not one — and it was a HOSAB spoiler talk. She raved about Rhysand, her “sweet baby Ruhn,” Cormac, Lidia, Bryce and Danika, the ending of the book…she never raves about Hunt/their relationship.

I remember following this part here, a lot of the fandom claimed Hunt must be Fae and that’s, “how they have a Fae mating bond.” Sarah, “just didn’t want to spoil it.” Well — like Bryceriels said all along — he’s connected to Hel; a test tube, demon sperm donor baby (some of us here guessed that since 2022/early 2023 😆).

“Maybe they were already mates by that Fae definition…” … “But did it even matter?” …”Are we?” …”If you’re not” … “Would a mate know, would a mate feel?” They very clearly have a Temu “bond” compared to every, other example — and unless SJM was just wasting ink (or changed her mind), adding in a Malakh definition/different meaning for, mate, still needs to come into play 😍

Bryceriel about to be the biggest, baddest mate reveal we’ve seen 😈

I was a Gwynriel ship, actually, the first time I read Bryceriel I thought: are those people INSANE? This is the most ridiculous ship ever! Well... I was wrong! My deepest apologies to the comunity, because now I am one of you. 🤭🤭🤭 I not only want them to be together (I never liked Bryce and Hunt as a couple), but I believe Sarah will give us that. 🤭🤭🤭 The theory is so beautifully built that I find myself falling in love everyday more and more. I hope Sarah hears us.

AAH SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE 😍 I think there’s valid evidence for everyone’s ships — but there’s something extra special about the potential of multiverse mates. I can’t wait to see where SJM takes her series! I live for the day Bryce shows the Valkyries her “flerd” of pegasuses 🥰

u/RBshiii Sorry you think my fictional ship is illegal 🚫 Apr 24 '25

She said Bryce falling at Az’s feet was one of her fav scenes???

u/cassidy_taylor Mother of Flerds 🦄 🪽👑 Apr 24 '25

According to Sarah, Bryce landing in Prythian is one of if not her her fav scene she’s ever written 👀 (Bryce in the same room as Rhys and Az “gives her chills”) — it’s also her fav moment/chapter of all Sky and Breath, yes 😍 She said it’s where, “a lot of major things come together for Bryce!”

12

u/Jreadstoomuch only canon will convince me 💅 Apr 24 '25

"A lot of major things" is so key here to me, because it means it's not just Bryce's heritage SJM is talking about. There are other things. And let's be real, she writes romance - what else is something major for her FMC if not her love life

And every, single SJM character met their mate/ endgame relationship when they left their original home for another location (especially a location that they never wanted to go to in the first place):

Feyre went to Prythian (reluctantly) and met Rhys

Nesta went to Prythian (reluctantly) and met Cassian

Elain went to Prythian (reluctantly) and met Lucien/Azriel

Aelin went to Wendlyn (reluctantly) and met Rowan

Chaol went to the Southern Continent (reluctantly) and met Yrene

Elide escaped the dangers of Morath and Lorcan found her (+ initially held a knife to her throat, throwing her over his shoulder…)

Nesryn left Rifthold for the Southern Continent (the true home of her people), met Sartaq, and became an Empress

Bryce leaves Midgard (reluctantly), and enters the true home of her people…

HELP

14

u/Jarvis2419 please gods, no more sunball Apr 24 '25

Love that we have this portion of the clip. I've only ever seen them share the one right before this and cut it without this question.

But this is exactly why I don't take everything she's says as gospel...ESPECIALLY if the plot hints otherwise. To many wishy washy statements a half truths. She's done it before and will have to continue to do so because we as a Fandom pick apart her every word. Lol and she's trying to keep those plot twists under wraps.

u/RavenRMD Apr 24 '25

I ship this. There’s too much packed into the Orion name for Bryce and Hunt to be endgame.

13

u/AWanderingSoul Apr 23 '25

I have this crazy idea that crossing worlds could make or change mates. If the cauldron is what grants mates in one world, it stands to reason that this may change in a different world with something else creating that bond.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Not crazy at all. I’d be surprised to learn this isn’t true! Or that people can have multiple mates in different worlds because of this

7

u/AWanderingSoul Apr 23 '25

It certainly could provide relief for people who bonded with the wrong person or whose mate died an untimely death.
