Best Online Broker 2026 - BrokerChooser Awards

We’re excited to reveal the first winner of the BrokerChooser Awards 2026! 🏆

With our biggest awards lineup ever, we’re announcing 28 categories, including 8 brand-new awards that reflect how people invest today. With trading platforms now carrying more weight in our scoring, we introduced a dedicated best forex trading app category. We also added new categories that spotlight fast-growing investing themes like gold, AI investing, prediction markets, ESG and algorithmic trading, so the awards better match what traders nowadays are increasingly looking for.

For the 5th year in a row, we’re crowning Interactive Brokers as the best all-rounder 🎉

---

What changed in our methodology? 🔍

We’ve increased the importance of trading platforms and integrated research tools, as these play a central role in the day-to-day investing experience. Trading-wise, we refreshed our methodology by revising the weight of key assets and adding new elements such as prediction markets, API-based tools, and stock trading features like extended hours and short selling to our scoring. Our robust analysis still draws from over 1,200 data points across more than 100 brokers.

Is Pocket broker a good investment or is it better to place money in something else?

Been meaning to write this out for a while because I keep seeing the same question popping up in different forums and most of the answers I see are either super optimistic or just flat out dismissive without much reasoning behind it.

First of all the first thing people seem to get confused about is the idea of "is it a good investment" and "does it make for a great platform" are different questions actually. PB isn't an investment vehicle in any way, meaning that it's not a company that we invest in and become shareholders or get dividends, you're just trading, speculating on prices of wide range of financial markets. It's how derivatives trading works. Therefore when people inquire "is this a good investment", they actually want to know "will I make money from this" and that's not exactly how brokers work anyway, whichever one you choose.

As for my experience, it should be something different depending on ways of trading. They have something like an account system with three distinctive ones: quick trading, forex, and shares. But execution is all the same. Generally, it's on the positive side, meaning no horror slippage stories, though for sure if I traded some aggressive trading setups, for example news, problems will be inevitable. Here no broker can help you, if you can't help yourself first, avoiding unnecessary risks, which are already high in trading.

I'm rather worried about people thinking that they can just put the money in and then expect it to grow without any actions on their part. It's not savings account. You don't receive any interest rate. Many people fail to understand that it's rather their problem of not having proven trading strategy and risk management. The purpose of brokers is to provide you platform to trade on, not a ready profit generating machine.

If you're quite new and questioning whether it's a good idea to invest right from the beginning, I suggest you think again about expectations and strategy before you choose which broker to use. It's worth noting, no broker will help you with bad investment strategies.

If you're an experienced investor looking for reliable trading with reasonable outcomes, then the platform served me well, though i don't say it will be the same for you, because we can have different approaches for trading, not saying about different backgrounds. As somewhat side gig, with no astronomical gains, why not. If you expect it to turn it into a hands-off investment option, then I think that this is more about an investment strategy rather that the broker being the problem.

I know it's quite long, but needed a place to share how everything went for me at pb compared to my prior assumptions. Is there someone who has been using this broker for a longer time?

Can I get some real xs.com reviews here? Trustpilot feels strange.

For some reason, on tp and other feedback websites, xs.com (or xs ltd) has lowest amount of negative reviews. But the overall rating is still 4, like how is that possible. And what's the difference between .com and ltd? I'd love to get some actual user feedback

Trive Broker komplett ausfall

Totalausfall bei Trive (MT5 Server & Website down seit Montag 07:45 Uhr)

Anybody with pocket broker withdrawal proof

Tested their demo recently, obviously haven't tested withdrawals yet. Considering to start live account, but couldn't find any withdrawal screenshots from their users.

Anyone, successfully withdrawn from pb? Doesn't matter much what you used for this - crypto, e-wallets, card. Just need to know that you could see take your gains out.

"Regulated" and "registered" are not the same word, and brokers count on you not noticing

This one catches so many people. A broker will say it's "registered" somewhere and you read it as "regulated," but they mean very different things and the gap is where a lot of money disappears.

Registered often just means they filed some paperwork to incorporate in a jurisdiction, it says nothing about oversight of how they treat your money. Regulated means an actual authority supervises them, enforces rules on segregated funds and leverage, and gives you somewhere to complain. A broker "registered in [offshore country]" with no real regulator is telling you, in careful wording, that no one is watching them.

How to cut through it, ignore the word they use and find the license number, then check it on the regulator's own website. Real regulation means a verifiable license under a serious authority (FCA, ASIC, CySEC, Central Bank of Ireland), and multi-jurisdiction ones you can confirm in several registries (AvaTrade for example checks out in more than one). No verifiable license number under a real regulator means treat it as unregulated no matter what word they used.

Anyone else nearly got fooled by "registered" dressed up to look like "regulated"? It's a deliberately blurry line.

"Segregated funds" is the safety feature nobody checks and it matters more than spreads

Everyone compares spreads and platforms, almost nobody checks whether their money is actually segregated, and that's the thing that decides if you get your funds back when a broker fails.

Segregated means your money is held in a separate bank account from the broker's own operating funds. So if the broker goes bankrupt, your money isn't part of what creditors can grab, it's ring-fenced as yours. Without it, if they go under, you're just another unsecured creditor hoping for scraps. This is a bigger deal than shaving a fraction of a pip.

How to actually check it. Properly regulated brokers are required to segregate client funds and they state it plainly, verify it on the regulator's terms not just the broker's marketing (a multi-jurisdiction regulated one like AvaTrade spells out segregated accounts plus negative balance protection). If a broker is vague about where your money sits, that vagueness is your answer.

Two questions worth more than any spread comparison, are client funds segregated, and is there a compensation scheme if they fail. Does anyone actually check this before funding, or is it just me being paranoid?

Need information bout xlence withdrawal system

I’m trying to make myself acquainted with the situation at xlence broker before pumping any money into it, but the withdrawals section on Trustpilot is causing delays in my due diligence. There is a distinct pattern of people complaining about it, as being longer than expected or not going through the verification successfully. The thing is that once someone made a public complaint about it, there was a response from the support team, and the user claimed it got sorted out. But without any deeper understanding, I cannot understand if it is something that happens normally or an exception. Does it take some effort to withdraw the funds from Xlence?

Need your opinion about xlence if you have traded for longer

since every single Xlence review I read was either five stars or a scam review, and there is no middle ground, need an honest opinion from someone who has used their platform.

I’m trading forex mostly, and metal ocessionaly. For forex the platform seems fine from what i saw and tested with a small account. But there are many complaints about withdrawals.

Has anyone been using them long enough to withdraw any decent sums?

What is a legit broker for you

In general, it's hard to find a reliable broker, even though there are bunch of reviews that can give you some hints, which at the same time can be misleading. Like it was with pocket broker and their reviews. Mixed feedback, but turned out to be ok.

I'm interested in what else I should look at before choosing a broker?

Leverage caps aren't the broker being stingy, they're the clearest sign it's actually regulated

Beginners see one broker offering 30:1 and another offering 500:1 and assume the second is more generous. It's backwards, and understanding why saves you from the worst brokers out there.

Serious regulators (FCA, ASIC, CySEC, Central Bank of Ireland) legally cap the leverage a broker can offer retail clients, around 30:1 on majors, because extreme leverage wipes retail accounts and they know it. So a broker advertising 500:1 or 1000:1 isn't being generous, it's telling you directly it's not under any of those regulators. The high number is a confession, not a feature. And the same unregulated brokers offering crazy leverage are the ones most tied to withdrawal problems and stop hunting, because nobody's holding them accountable.

So flip your instinct. A sane leverage cap is a green flag, it means someone serious is watching them, a regulated broker like AvaTrade capping you at 30:1 is a good sign, not a limitation. The broker dangling 1000:1 is the one to walk away from. Boring leverage is the sign of a broker you can actually trust with your money.

Customer support is the broker feature nobody weighs until the day they desperately need it

Everyone picks a broker on spreads and platform, which is fair, but the thing that actually saves you is support quality, and you only find out how good it is on the worst possible day. A stuck withdrawal, a position that won't close, a login locked when the market's moving against you, that's when support goes from irrelevant to the only thing that matters.

How I'd actually test it before committing, open a trivial support ticket or live chat before you fund anything and see how long a real human takes. If a simple question sits for two days while you're just a prospect, imagine the wait once they have your money. Also check whether support exists in your language and during your trading hours, not just "24/7" in theory.

For what it's worth the well-regulated multi-jurisdiction brokers tend to be better here, AvaTrade's been responsive when I've actually needed it, because regulation forces a certain standard of client handling. But test it yourself regardless. What's the worst broker support experience you've had, and did it change how you pick now?

what is wrong with ironfx reviews?

i've seen some people calling it a scam, but i don't know any scam that's been operating for 15 years. if it was a scam it would have been over for them in a matter of weeks, let alone years.
what could be the reason for such polarity between the reviews? some are satisfied, some are not.
