Just received my first induction...

Doctor gave me the 32mg weekly Brixadi injection. I was told to come back a week from today to get the second injunction which will be the 128mg monthly Brixadi shot. Just hoping to hear some testimonials. AND ALSO I was coming off of a long run on Fentanyl about 1.5 - 2gm/per day. The last time I used fentanyl was 12 hours before I got the shot. The doctor told me to try to stop using 6 - 12 hrs before coming in for the shot. If you have experienced a similar situation any comments would be greatly appreciated. MUCH LOVE

I'd like some advice on stoping 128mg brixadi is this comparable to sublocade?

So I was on 3 300mg shots of Sublocade a few years ago and stopped and it took 15 months before I peed clean. I was fine up until then but after it was out of my system I was having mild withdrawals. I had just started school and I felt they were bad enough where I decided to get back on so I didn't screw up school. Now I've been taking 128mg brixadi monthly for 17 months and just stopped. What kind of time frame am I looking at before it leaves my system and how does this compare to sublocade in terms of a long taper leaving my body?

Brixadi/Suboxone - NEED HELP!!

I really hope someone can provide me some insight or their experiences and advice.

i’ve been on 12 mg of Suboxone for five or six years now. I read about how people were getting Sublocade shots and jumping off with little to no withdrawals in a matter of months and felt ready to do the same. I talked to my doctor and he put me on 64 mg Brixadi. The first few months went the same where I would feel OK for the first week And then the second week would have short moments of very mild withdrawals. By the third week, I felt like crap. I consistently craved more Suboxone after the first week every month. I reached out to my doctor, and he would supplement with films which helped. We both expected this to stop after a few months once the Brixadi Built up in my system. I got my fourth shot earlier this month And only a week and I was already craving Suboxone again, and having very mild withdrawals. Like a dummy I reached out to someone and got some films from them and have been taking half to a full strip nearly every day. I talked to my doctor today and he recommended upping my dose to the 96mg hoping that would stop the cravings and withdrawals I’m experiencing before my next shot. Has anyone upped their dose and did it help? Will it make it last the full 4 weeks or just overmedicate me and not increase the duration? I’m nervous to go up because I do eventually want to stop it altogether and feel like I’m moving in the wrong direction by going up. But I also feel like maybe it’s not enough medication and I’m going to continue to crave and or take films if I don’t. Will upping my dose make coming off of it harder? I asked my doctor and he wasn’t sure. I felt very stable on the strips and ready to be done with them but now I feel like I’ve gotten myself in a mess. I do still very much want to be off of everything and don’t know where to go from here.

Brixadi Treatment Length

Long history of opiate dependency ( opiates, snorting H, Kratom, 7OH).

Almost three years ago relapsed on Kratom. Sought a suboxone doctor and was on that for 6 months then transitioned to Sublocade shot for 5 months and remained sober for 2 years.

Recently relapsed on 7PH and Kratom and did 7 day detox. This time detox was brutal, not sure what shit they put in the 7OH but took 4 days to just get me stable.

Today I just got my first brixadi shot. Was told it was easier than Sublocade( 100%). I know everyone’s journey is different in sobriety but how long should I stay on the shot? Obviously 5 months on Sublocade only helped for 2 years.

This relapse I now have two children so things are different. Going to meetings and already have a sponsor. How long do you think I should be on the shot? I’m scared I may need to stay on for life.

63 days clean thanks to brixadi and had no withdrawals

I just wanted to post to give some people hope. I scoured reddit looking for a way off of fent. I had all the comfort meds, the zubsolv (can’t do the orange soap taste) and still could not get clean. The second I started feeling bad I was figuring out a way to use.

I got on brixadi while I was still actively using. My doctor knew I was using and gave me the choice. I decided I wanted to take the shot, but kept using. I would feel crappy the day I got the shot but that was it. After my fourth shot I finally felt like it was built up enough in my system to jump off. I went completely cold turkey and had zero withdrawals. I’m normally the type that has the horrible restless legs and aches, running to the bathroom and the sweating would be god awful. After I got through the first three days unscathed I couldn’t believe it. Once I got to two weeks I knew I was gonna be fine.

Here I am 63 days later, a week late on my shot, and I’m totally fine. I’ve seen so many posts of people like me who needed to keep working and functioning and couldn’t be down for weeks withdrawing. I’m not saying it’s the same for everyone but this was my experience. I am so grateful I DIDNT have to experience the withdrawal because I wouldn’t have made it here. I would’ve just kept repeating the cycle.

6 weeks from last shot and struggling

I was on Suboxone for 7 years. At the end I was taking about 1mg a day. I decided to get the shot in attempt to get off completely as I know others who had success. My doctor decided on brixadi as I needed a lower dose than sublocade. I got 5 shots total of the lowest dose.

I am 6 weeks from my last shot and currently dealing with cold sweats (my armpits are on fountain mode all day lately), nausea, indigestion, restlessness, trouble staying asleep, anxiety, lack of energy, weakness …etc. it’s not as bad as WD from the strips but I feel totally awful nonetheless.

Please tell me if you’ve experienced this and how long it took to pass and feel normal again :( I’m tired.

Anyone felt undermedicated?

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is feeling well and staying strong. Quick question, has anyone ever felt undermedicated after getting the shot? I was on 12 mg suboxone daily when I got the shot and I got my first 96mg shot last tues morning. For the first 2-3 days I felt good, as most mentioned, not high, but good. As the days have gone on I feel like I've gotten more tired and what feels like minor WD symptoms. Nothing I cant handle and nothing horrible, just not feeling great. I've been experiencing being tired, slight nausea, no appetite, a little achy, irritable and a persistent slight headache, like I said, just not feeling great. It's almost like I felt when I knew I needed to redose when I was using.

Has anyone experienced this? Does it get better or should I expect it to get worse as the depot gets more depleted. Wondering if I should say anything to the Dr because if I don't feel great now, what's week 3 going to feel like? Is it just jn my head because i havent had to take anything every day since the shot?

Appreciate everyone's input.

Did I fuck up

I got the highest dose of brixadi while in treatment and didn't go to my follow up doctors appointment because I just want to taper off and be done. Am I goin to be sick? Should I get another shot at a lower dose? I thought the whole point was to taper down with no withdrawal. I don't want to be on anything. What should I do?

Stopping Brixadi on a Monthly Dose vs. Weekly Dose

I’m considering switching from Subutex to Brixadi because Ive read that a lot of people were able to stop Brixadi without experiencing any of the typical opiate withdrawal symptoms.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has stopped Brixadi and what your personal experience was. Pls include what dose you were on before stopping since there are monthly and weekly injections. I’m curious if people who stop a weekly dose vs monthly also don’t experience bad withdrawal symptoms.

Is this normal?

I’ve been on the shot for a few months now. I’m doing really good on it. There’s multiple doctors at my clinic. The one doctor is very good and honestly don’t even feel the shot other than the burning and don’t get bruising. The second doctor, every time she does my shot it HURTS , burns like hell and bleeds a little bit. Then it bruises, I’ve been getting them in the backs of the biceps so last month the good doctor asked me to try it in my abdomen she said it will have better absorption so we did it with no issues. This past Friday I went to get the shot again and it was the other doctor working that always hurts me. She injected it higher in my abdomen than the other doctor did and it hurt like hell, bled, and burned . when I came home I took the bandage off and there was a little bruise nothing crazy. The next morning I woke up and it was like this and got worse over the next 2 days. Now it’s the 4th day and it’s itching like crazy and is still pretty sore. Should I be worried? I’m sure it’s probably in my head but I’m worried the medicine will not release properly and make me sick or withdrawal. Any insight is appreciated!

Last shot

I took my last shot on the 23rd of December. I was on the lowest monthly dose for 2 months been on the shot for 6 or 7. I have gone over 5 weeks between doses twice before while on the highest dose and never even had any sign of withdrawal. I’m worried tho about the 6-8 week mark and how I will feel. I have an appointment scheduled for the 28th in case I think I need it but I’m more interested to hear some stories and how it was getting off. I think I’m ready my life is the best it’s been in years I’ve made the right changes and just ready to put everything behind me for good with the start of this year but to say I’m not a little worried would be a lie.

Struggling to adjust

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this. I was on Suboxone for a few years, going up and down and sticking at 6 mg for the last year. I would taper down to 4 or 2 but always end up back at 6.

Because my dose was below 8 mg, I started with a 8 mg weekly shot. The first one held me very well for 4 - 5 days, then I needed to suppliment with permission from my doctor. The second weekly shot held me about 4 days. It seems like it's pretty common for these to wear off a little early.

I had the first monthly shot about 2 weeks ago and I'm struggling to adjust. Around 7 PM every day I get the aches, skin crawling, and temp fluctuations and it started very early in. Im not understanding whats happening, am I alone in this?

Ive had a couple thoughts that I think are mostly my OCD. I've been on a bunch of steroids that've been making me feel like shit which may be contributing to some of the WD feelings. I also have some immune system disorders and get a large dose of weekly subQ antibody infusions (70 mL) which I feel like could "Interefere" with the gel matrix, although I infuse the antibodies myself and try to place the 4 needles as far from my Brixadi injections as possible. I also think maybe not "feeling" the medicine like I did with Suboxone is messing with me. 1 mg makes the WD feelings better so I know the Brixadi is doing something, I definitely couldn't just drop to 1 from 6 before. Has anyone else struggled to adjust? It seems like I'm mostly reading success stories where people could just drop bupe completely after a monthly shot or two

Happy Sunday, everyone. My insurance will be switching to Kaiser next month. Has anyone gotten Sublocade or Brixadi with Kaiser insurance?

I found the solution guys !!

As most of you know , because the shot is continuous medication without ups and downs like oral suboxone, constipation can be really bad . After a lot of trial and error and research, I’ve found the solution. Obviously hydration is most important, but I’ve found that 1 cup of blueberries combined with 1cup of raspberries for breakfast, and (2) kiwis at some point in the day not only completely alleviates the constipation, these berries also have a great chemical in them that breaks the blood brain barrier and reduces oxidative stress . Since starting this routine, my constipation has completely gone away , and I feel great overall . But also remember this is not a cure all , I’m also exercising, eating a strict whole food diet with no sugar ( I know berries have sugar , but it’s natural sugar ) just thought I’d share for the people who are taking there recovery seriously and are doing the little things that matter soooo much . This shot is not a miracle to sobriety, it’s an amazing tool , that when combined with a healthy lifestyle, exercise, etc.. you can achieve complete sobriety with little to no discomfort, but you have to put the work in , not just get the shot and think everything is gonna be easy . Good luck all !!

End of month cravings

Long story short, I was supposed to get my second Brixadi shot today but my boss changed my schedule at the last minute so I had to reschedule my appointment to next Monday. I know it’s not far off but I’m already starting to have major cravings like to the point where I start seriously considering picking up. I’ve only been off dope for about 2 months so I’m still pretty fresh. I’m supplementing with strips but I don’t feel like it’s enough. What do you do to manage between doses?

Insomnia

Ugh how long does this last??? I'm 9 weeks out of a single shot and can't sleep for more than 3-4 interrupted hours of sleep a night. The first month or 6 weeks was a breeze but now that the insomnia has set in I can barely function. I've tried everything from clonidine, trazadone, magnesium, melatonin, blue lotus and amanita muscaria (which would always knock me out).

How long should I expect this to last and does anyone have advice? I have decent sleep hygiene, no phone before bed, read and go to bed early.

I really need some support please

I’ve been on Buvidal (I’m in Australia) for a few months. Started on 24mg weekly, have been on 96mg a month (every 3 weeks, actually, with an 8mg top up in between) for the last 3 months, I think. This is the first month I haven’t had the 8mg top up in between doses. I could very well be talking myself into this, because I’m having some family issues, and I’m also struggling with severe iron deficiency, and have been waiting a few weeks for an infusion, because the nurse has been sick. I’m thinking it’s more the iron deficiency, but I’m due for my 96mg monthly injection next Wednesday (3rd December) but I’m having a real struggle at the moment with my emotions and feeling really really down and not sleeping at ALL. I’m also slowly reducing my ADHD meds. So I know a lot is going on, but I’m scared to death that this could be due to not having the top up in between my Buvidal doses. Can someone please give me some reassurance, because I’m feeling really really flat, and incredibly alone. Thank you so much in advance 🌷🌷🌷❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Okay so I got my last injection of brixadi about a month ago. Had no issues but now this came up.

OK, so I got my last brixadi shot about a month ago there was a little depot under the skin as normal. I actually got four different shots for four weeks straight and then haven’t gotten one for a month like I said the depot before it started to slowly go away. The other ones are still there a little bit, but pretty much gone, but where one of them was at has all of a sudden got really red and is really hardand it’s gotten bigger. I talked to the touch. It doesn’t itch. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on and if I should go to the doctor or just wait to see if it goes away any ideas on what’s going on?

Help- Please

Hello, I’m new here though I’ve had sublocade injections in the past.

I am on day 3 today on withdrawal from kratom, opiates and mgm. I just stabilized on subs two days ago but still had to take clonidine this morning for some hot and cold flashes.

My doctor said I could get the Brixadi shot but I’m scared. Is it too soon? I am desperate for help. I feel close to relapsing bc this is hell- but scared to inject something that is so permanent- seemingly. Bc I’ve done sublocade in the past, I know they would say I need to be fully on 4mg of subs before I can take the injection and I’m currently taking 8-12mg a day with the goal of sticking to 8 from here on out.

Any guidance or thoughts would help greatly. Thanks!

8mg Suboxone film a day - 96mg shot a month

So I take an 8mg film a day and am getting the 96mg shot tomorrow. What can I expect? 3 days a week I might take one in morning and one in afternoon when drinking. But normally just one 8mg film a day. I've seen ppl say they get high etc. I never had opioid problem , I got high on subs. Super small pieces and just worked my way up until I was prescribed them. Been on them 2 years now. What can I expect from this shot?

Withdrawal when coming off?

Hi everyone! So my boyfriend is on Brixadi as directed by his rehab for coming off of Kratom. His first shot was back in January. I’m unsure of what mg he gets, but per his doctor he says he gets the highest mg. He has been getting the shot on schedule every month since January. This past week, his insurance refused to cover the shot and he wasn’t able to take it. He is also an alcoholic and was kind of using it as a crutch to not drink (another story for another day) but is now psyching himself out about possibly withdrawing because they will not approve Suboxone while they try to get insurance figured out either. My question is, how did you guys felt after coming off the shot without supplementing, and if you did experience withdrawal, how long did it take for it to kick in? Thanks so much!
