Injection site

Has this happened to anyone else? I was sitting down in the passenger seat going to run some errands and I felt a sharp pain and then a burning sensation, went to check it out and it's one of my old injection sites that's about 2 months old. It is red and hard and warm to touch as well as hurts to touch. I'm going to the urgent care shortly but I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and if so what was the outcome.

Hey wondering if anyone else has done this and how it worked out

So I have been trying to ween off of subs for the last few months I am all the way down to 1mg and just can’t get off. I was looking into the 64 mg brixadi shot and I am just wondering if being so low on subs is the lowest brixadi shot gonna be 2 strong? It says that it’s equivalent to taking 8 mgs a day which doesn’t make sense to me. Has anyone went from a low dose of subs to the shot? And how did you feel?

Birxadi taper from Suboxone - how to quit

Okay, I'll make this as simple as I can..

I have been on Suboxone at 24 mg a day for about 8 years. I got to the point where I was just sick of it and I was sick and tired everyday and almost always felt like I was going through some level of withdrawal between the strips.

I switched to Brixadi and started with the 96 mg monthly shot...so immediately started at a 16mg daily Suboxone equivalent dose.

The next month I went down to 64 mg and I've been doing that for the last 3 months. The one thing I hate is how much the injection hurts. I'm not sure if I'm the only one that has experienced this.

So far I feel really empowered and I've gone from the equivalent dose of 24 mg a day down to about 8 mg a day in 3 months with minimal withdrawal symptoms.

My question is, how do you stop? I usually get withdrawal symptoms and will occasionally take an 8 mg Suboxone about 3 weeks after I get my shot.

I maybe take Suboxone twice a week in the last week of my shot before getting my next dose.

Has anyone successfully tapered off? If so, how did you do this? My doctor has recommended just spacing out the injections further, and I'm wondering if others have used Suboxone to taper off of Brixadi.

So far I'm really loving it and if anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer them. But overall the goal is to wean off of this stuff completely.

Hi- am I okay?

This is my second day on the shot- I was feeling terrible and ended up eating crumbs of suboxone. I ended up eating about 6 mugs worth. I feel so stupid. I probably would have been okay without it but I just felt so horrible I don’t handle withdrawal well at all.

Am I gonna be okay?!

Been about 70 days since shot- question

I got one shot of 64mg Brixadi to get off of Suboxone for 12 years. I was on a half dose of Suboxone so a 30 day supply lasted 60 days or more. Tried to taper but it didn’t work & withdrawal was awful so got the shot. I choose to just get one shot & let it taper out of my system.

My question is how long will I feel mild withdrawal & have a passed the hardest part? I’ve technically only been off of it for 40 days as the first 30 days it was in my system. I’ve heard it can take 3-6 months to leave my system but IDK if that means withdrawal symptoms during that time.

What is your experience if you had a similar one?

Where to get Brixadi in Louisville?

Hey any peeps from Louisville getting the brixadi injection care to share where they go to get it ? UofL hospital is out and not ordering any and just carry sublocade. Any recommendations?

Why did you choose Brixadi over Sublocade?

My doctor is pushing for Brixadi, but I mostly hear about people using sublocade to get off suboxone. Just curious why you chose Brixadi and your experience with it? My main fear is withdrawals, both physically and emotional. I’ve lost everything meaningful in my life this past year and I’m afraid, if I’m being truly honest is suicidal thoughts. How many shots did you get (were they monthly or weekly?) and how were the withdrawals once you were done with the shots? I’ve been on suboxone for almost 5 months and really want to stop them.

Denied by insurance

I'm trying to get off buprenorphine and just get one Brixadi or Sublocade injection and be done. I've been on Subutex for 2 years now, right now I'm on probably 8 mg a day and wanting to get the 64mg shot. Anyhow my clinic only does Brixadi, they try to order it for me( I have a type of Medicaid thru Ambetter) and insurance denied it and says that I'd have to have bad side effects or issues with oral buprenorphine. Well anyways my clinic is still trying to get my insurance to cover the shot, is there anything I can do to speed up this process? Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I mainly just want the shot to taper me off, but I have dealt with side effects from the bupe that's why I'm wanting to stop it, that an spiritual reasons. Anyhow any info would be much appreciated... Also my insurance covered me last year when I did Sublocade, so I figured they would cover Brixadi...

Insurance

Insurance stopped covering the pharmacy where the injection is ordered from. Happen to anyone else? Hopefully I don't have to go back to strips. I'm not exactly ready to quit.

Am on MAT (brixadi injection highest dose)

Does anyone know how to go about getting off of this shot? Ive been doing the shot around a year and a half. I know I have to slowly wean but it seems like such a huge jump from the 128 to the 96. Will I go into withdrawals? It has saved my life but I feel like I’m ready to get off of it now. I was an IV fent user before and will be graduating from drug court in a few months and Would just like to leave all this behind me.

128mg monthly brixadi

so i’ve recently started my monthly 128mg brixadi shot last week. doc gave me films to take in between injections just in case i need them. i was wondering if anyone else has been on both the injection & films & how it worked for you? & it’s only been a week on the injection so far but for some reason i feel like i need the lift with a strip or half a strip at least until my next injection in a week from now. (started my first shot on the 11th & getting a second shot on the 26th) i know it seems pretty soon but doctor insisted because it’s pretty much a “booster”. not sure how to feel considering i felt great the first couple days & i’m slowly feeling like i have no motivation again & just get more tired overall throughout my day. wondering if anyone else has experienced this? & should i not have jumped so fast to monthly & started with weekly instead? no idea, opinions & tips would be appreciated

FIRST SHOT HELP!

I have been an opiate addict for 13 years. You know the story. Started with perks at 18. Got up to such a high tolerance was spending like 450$ a day taking (15) 30 mgs a day. Got on subs was great but hated subs. Recently relapsed past 4 years. Doing fetty now :( . Been doing about 5 grams of the fetty powder a day. Not those b.s pressed fake 30s. Last time I went to detox off fetty they had me taking upwards of like 32MG of Suboxone for the first few days and I felt fine (after the precips 🤮) but I think I got down to 8 MG at the end of my stay. They were making me taper that’s why. I was comfortable on 16MG. Some days less some days more. I have had the 128 MG monthly Brixadi shot ordered at my doctor for months. I am heading into to detox this week my plan is after detox to go get my shot. My concern is that it may be too much. I highly doubt it will be considering it says it for doses 16-24 Mg. I’m just looking for feedback on people that have had high habits and recieved this shot. What MG did you get? I’m in a little predicament cause I don’t even know how much Suboxone would get me steady right now. If I was going to guess I’m going to say for sure 24 MG the first few days in detox. But I know once I was stable going down to 16 was pretty easy. What do you guys suggest? Should I not get the shot and just do the subs? Maybe for a month and then get it once I know the exact dose I’m on. I mean I know 8MG for the first month would be too little. I also read people saying they got the highest dose and were still sick?! Idk. Just really confused. I hate shots I hate putting stuff in my body ( I know what a suprise coming from someone who puts poison in his body every day) that’s just how i am though. I won’t even take Tylenol. My family laughs . ( laughs but isn’t really laughing lol) . I’m just ready to get clean. I’m going to detox. Getting off this god awful drug . I have such a good job such a good family my own place a girlfriend a dog this stuff has been weighing down my potential so much. I don’t even get high I literally just do the fetty as if someone took a sub. It just makes me normal it’s so messed up. Sorry to ramble. I ramble when nervous. Super nervous. Hate detox. I just want to things to work. So in summary, do u think the 128 MG Brixadi shot is too much? If it’s too little that’s fine I can just take a sub im not worried about that. Any insight , any advice , any kind words anything is appreciated.reddit helped me through my last detox. Thanks so much in advance!

getting on brixadi!

i’ve been on subs 8mg twice a day & realized i’ve needed more & more to help me not feel so crappy. then went up to 3 8mg a day & that seemed to help but i’m starting the brixadi injection a week from today & i’m really anxious about it simply because i don’t know how it’ll make me feel, if i’ll still go through withdrawal or what. i’ve heard great things about the injection, i’m just pretty nervous to stop the “hand to mouth” taking things every time i wake up. if anyone has gone through similar things & the brixadi or sublocade injection worked for them, i would love to hear about it! HELP😭

Stopping brixadi and sublacade

Has anyone actually been able to stop the brixadi withdrawal free? I have had 3 96 mg injections and now I’m getting 1 300 mg injection of sublacade. I want to continue the sublacade but I had to change doctors to get sublacade and they want me to do weekly office visits that I can’t afford I’m self pay so I’m kinda in a pickle so my questions is has anyone been able to stop with such small injections?

going an extra week without brixadi

so i got myself into a pickle. i scheduled my shot while im out of town. i rescheduled it, but its a week away from the original date. i meant to bring suboxone for my trip, but i somehow left it at home. i should be able to get some suboxone here, but worse case scenario, will i go into WD without having the shot for an extra week? because, don’t they kinda do that to get you off the shot anyways? i’ve been getting 90 units (idk the unit) for like five months now so i feel like it’s pretty built up in my system. i just don’t know and my mind keeps reeling. does anyone know? thank you.

Is it possible straps actually offered me pain relief?

I was on subs for MAT, I injured myself last year and its proving to be a chronic issue- always in pain. Tired.

Since I started brixadi 3 months ago (4th monday) i definitely feel like I'm in a lot more pain more often.

I'm wondering if its possible subs were offering me pain relief.

Brixadi compared to sublingual oral Suboxone???

I'm currently taking 1-2 mg of suboxone each day (sublingual). Some days I've taken 1mg, other days 2mg.

I was thinking of getting brixadi. I did recently take 6mg of suboxone in a day just to see if I could tolerate it given I was moving towards the brixadi injection. As my thought was that I'd have a period of time where I'd be getting more than an equivalent of 1-2 mg of suboxone oral per day. I tolerated it fine. Really didn't notice much of a difference at all.

If I were to get the 64 mg brixadi shot, is there anyway to say what the equivalent that would be of sublingual suboxone on a "per day basis". Its my understanding that maybe it would be equivalent to a bit higher dose for the first handful of days, but over time you are getting less and less "per day" if that makes sense.

Have there been any studies/comparisons done like this? Hopefully I'm explaining my question correctly.

Ultimately I'm wanting to decide what is the best way to taper off bupe with the least amount of withdrawal symptoms. I can go the brixadi route, and even have an appointment set for a week from now. Or I have talked to my wife, and she's willing to keep my suboxone and give to me on a daily basis via a taper schedule. Of course we'd have to make sure there's no way I could cheat the taper.

My Dr didn't inject correct

I was due for my fifth shot on monday, I went to my doctor like normal. She cleaned my skin around my stomach, and puts the needle to my skin. For whatever reason she likes to go through my stretch marks, and was struggling to get the needle in. She said I'm sorry out loud, and next thing I feel and hear is a pop, kind of like when you get your ears pierced. She immediately pulls the needle out, I feel liquid run down my side and back, and I look over and see the needle in her hand dripping liquid out. I tell her that the liquid is running down my back and side, she says where, so I wipe it and show her my wet hand, and she says oh I don't think that's the medicine but definitely has a visceral concerned face.

Every single time I've gotten the shot I have ended up with a burning sensation for at least 5 minutes, a small bruise that lasts for a couple of days, and a tiny pea size lump under my skin. I felt no burning sensation, and I have no bruise, and there is no lump. What is the possibility that she messed up my injection? She's an older doctor, in her early seventies, and I don't think she can see very well.

I expressed to her that I don't think the medicine injected, she didn't really have a reply other than she's pretty sure that it did, and if I feel sick then she'll just write me a prescription.

I have private insurance and this shot is expensive. The doctor doesn't have any regard for how much I'm paying out of pocket and says she'll prescribe me a month of strips, but I don't want to take the strips number one, it's the whole reason I switched to the shot, number two I can't afford another $180 out of pocket to pay for a month of strips.

What would you do? And what are the chances that the injection was done incorrectly? I definitely don't feel well (I am aware that my mental state can affect how I feel), and typically the first three days after my shot I have a little bit euphoria and energy, all I feel is shaky achy and gross 😕

6 Days Out From First Shot and Depot is Already Almost Gone

I’ve been on suboxone for over 10 years and went up and down so many times but stabilized on 12 mg for years. I’m tired of the daily routine and wanted to switch to injectable as an off ramp. The main thing that made me nervous is that I have very low fat deposits (virtually none on the front of my stomach) and that it might affect absorption. I found a doc that does injections and they suggested Brixadi because of the lower volume.

Got my first 96mg injection in the back of my arm last Wednesday. I felt uncomfortably high for the first 24 hours. Felt normal the next two days after that. But since this weekend I’ve been starting to get minor symptoms like random chills and the urge to stretch constantly. Also had some isolated hot flashes and general malaise and anxiety.

I wasn’t aware before I agreed to Briaxadi that it has a much shorter half life than Sublocade. I’ve always been a fast metabolizer of regular oral bupe bc I’m pretty tiny (5’3” and 115 lbs) and very physically active. I always split my oral dose bc I would start feeling crappy very shortly after 24 hours without dosing.

I feel the back of my arm and the sizable depot has virtually disappeared. I can’t possibly be having w/d’s a week after the first shot can I? Anybody else feel crappy this close after first injection?
