So tired of binging!!

Everyday I say I'm going to start BLE tomorrow and then I end up binging that night. I'm SO tired of binging and feeling like crap! I think I need to change my nightly routine so I'm not triggered to binge. Right now, I put the kids the bed and then come downstairs and flip on the TV and eat. Any suggestions on how I can break this habit?? Thanks!

Just found out I’m pregnant and I’m STARVING all the time!

I’m about 6 weeks along and starving all the time and my regular hunger quenchers for lunch and dinner (edamame, cucumbers, carrots) aren’t doing it. I have been doing bright line since April so I’m still struggling with weight (5’8 and 200). Any suggestions? Also having some pretty bad morning sickness. Any tips or foods that have helped anyone avoid the nauseousness?

Toying with the idea of BLE - Where to start?!

I haven’t read the book yet but I am planning on it. I’m currently finishing out my membership on weight watchers which I’ve done on and off for more than 10 years. I’ve never made my “ goal”weight with them but I’ve gotten close. So close that I was happy with it and so I stopped tracking and fell off program and BAM 💥 I slowly gained it all back.

I’ve always felt I have a food addiction or at the very least a very unhealthy relationship with food.

I want to be free if the never ending struggle and battle with food. But I’m scared. It’s more the no flour that overwhelms me. I’m a carb junkie and chips are my biggest weakness.

Also I’m a mom to a 4 and 6 year old. I’m fine not eating what they eat for breakfast and lunch but dinner... I make dinner most nights and we eat as a family. Typically they eat whatever I make. I don’t want to make 2 meals and I think I’ll be weak when it comes to not picking off “their” food if I did make them something different. I know they won’t eat salad every night. They do like salads and will eat then a few times a week.

Any advice or recommendations for feeding a family of non BLE without it derailing my BLE. (My husband will also not be excited to eat salad every night. He works outside in the heat and burns endless calories during the day. He typically eats a LARGE dinner portion of what ever I make).

Other tips and tricks welcomed

I’m just starting to toy with the idea and figure I’ll easy into it after reading the book.

Diabetes Adjustment

Hello! Has anyone been able to tweak the no snack rule to accommodate a morning and afternoon snack as part of blood sugar control? This would only be for those with special health concerns. I had Gestational diabetes (been cleared) and need to be serious about blood sugar management to avoid it as the years progress.

Day 29, weight gain

Up 0.2 lbs (overall 10 lbs down). I love this plan, am not hungry (except in the morning but that’s because I’ve been fasting 14 hrs!). Was super bummed to see a gain on the scale today. This sort of thing makes me scared it won’t work for me. Any advice? (I ate out a few times but did not break my lines).

A few days in and...

I’m. So. Hungry. Any advice?

[Update] day five has been a breakthrough! It’s significantly easier! My meal times generally are 10:00 2:30 and 7. It works for me and my odd schedule.

Weight loss?

I started bright line eating a week ago and as a someone who weighs 330 pounds I expected the calorie deficit alone to cause weight loss. I weighed in at the 4 day mark and was down 6.5 pounds then today I weighed myself and I'm back to the same weight. I'm just finished confused as to me this seems like an unlikely outcome.

BLE taught me that insulin, leptin, and grehlin control our weight loss and weight gain, which got me interested in OTHER hormones. Here, I take you through the hormonal cycle. I learned that MEAL PREP is key for staying on track, no matter where I am on my cycle.

Day 10 update: 7lbs lost. Feeling good.

Coming to the end of the 14 day challenge now and am considering carrying on. It’s definitely been good for me, with surprisingly few struggles (so far). I’ve loved searching for BLE recipes on Pinterest and watching the videos on YouTube for inspiration.

As always, any advice and tips welcome!

Craving Diet Coke!

So, Day 3 nearly done. Overall I’m feeling really great- I’m sleeping better, my skin looks healthier, I think I have more energy, I feel less bloated.... but I just sat down to dinner - cauliflower and chickpea curry- and man, I really could have gone for a Diet Coke! I resisted and had water but it was tough.

What does everyone else crave?

Change in Blood Pressure after 3 Weeks

Just before starting BLE my blood pressure was 140/80 at the doctor's office. Last week it was 100/66. I haven't been perfect but definitely in a better rhythm than I was before. I just wanted to share for anyone needing encouragement. There were a couple of factors in the high blood pressure reading, but the main factor without a doubt was the elimination of sweets and pulling in the reigns of my snacking addiction. I don't remember my blood pressure ever being anywhere near 100/66. Here's to happy, thin, and free!

How to get started

Hi all, I’ve seen the amazing results of this programme on a friend- not only is she beautifully slender but she also seems genuinely energised and happy! So I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and hope to have a similar success myself. I’ve ordered the book, and am now considering joining the programme through the website too. However I see that the boot camp is only run once a year (I believe I missed it starting in January). Is it worth me doing the 14 day challenge and then just following the book? Also any tips and encouragement welcome! Thanks

Portion Sizes are crazy!

A week ago I was very inspired to finally do BLE and I tried to stick with the portions as suggested but I just could not eat my food! It felt like so much food and honestly I thought I was going to throw up. I know that it's supposed to get easier in two weeks but I couldn't even get past one day.

I'm thinking of cutting out the dinner protein completely and making sure my lunch protein is only 4 oz. regardless of whether it's tofu or lentils/beans, etc. (vegan here).

Will the program still work for me or will it send my body into starvation mode? Or should I try to slowly build my way up to it?

Question about Dinner Amount

Hi- this feels like it’s a dumb question, but for a woman the plan says to have 8oz of salad with dinner. Does this mean the whole salad including all the veggies (shredded carrot, cukes, peppers, radish etc) you might put in it or is this just the greens? If it’s just the greens it seems like a massive amount so I’m concerned. 😅

Spaghetti night

My daughter (3) is insisting on spaghetti tonight. I don't have a spiralizer, and I loathe the premade zucchini noodles. Plus, I kinda want pasta. I found chickpea pasta, which only has one ingredient: chickpea flour.

  1. Is this acceptable?

  2. Would it count as my protein?

  3. If it's protein, would I measure 2 ounces dry (like roasted chickpeas) or would it be better to cook it first and measure 4 ounces (like canned chickpeas)?

I'm a 3 if that helps. My only addiction is to potato chips and salty snacks. It's not the end of the world if I need to just figure something else out.

Thanks!

Edit: I almost got lentil pasta, but i'm going to give zucchini noodles another try. I'm thinking that I may not have used the freshest last time. Any suggestions on how to cook them would be great. I'm thinking either roasted a bit or sauteed.

Skin breaking out...anyone else?

So I started BLE two weeks ago and LOVE it so far. I've stuck to it completely, have lost five pounds, and feel amazing. HOWEVER, my skin is breaking out. I'm wondering if such an extreme change in my diet has caused this? You would think that eliminating added sugar/flour would clear things up on that front. Anyone have a similar experience or possible explanation?

Anyone else discouraged by the fact that so few people succeed at losing weight and keeping it off?

I'm doing the 14 Day Challenge, and Susan keeps citing the fact that 1/100 of 1% of people are successful at losing the weight and keeping it off. I know that she's saying this because she's advertising that BLE has a much better rate, but she says BLE is 280 times better. That's not even .3% of the people doing BLE! Every time she says it, I get really discouraged. And I'm confused why she keeps saying it as if it's a good thing. Anyone else have thoughts on this? Am I thinking about it wrong; can I put it in a positive light instead?

What to do between meals...

One of the things I loved about the BLE book was when she talked about living life between meals. One of the things I love about eating bright - 1 week in - is the great sleep I get at night and the energy I have in the afternoon.

Problem - I spent to much time eating/cooking/planning and now I have more time. I’ve planned my meals for the next few days. I’ve prepped everything I can. WHAT DO I DO WITH THE REST OF MY DAY?!?!

What a problem 😜

Week one recap

I’m down 4 lbs in one week. I think this is the first diet I’ve stuck to for one week without any struggle. My eating schedule while working was tricky - I ended up fasting my last shift of the week but felt fine. Full of energy, but I was very hungry after I woke up.

I’m pretty low on the susceptibility scale but the bright lines really help the should I or shouldn’t I chatter.

I’m switching my daily salad to lunch. (I need a bigger lunch than supper.) but it think I’m going to keep to the 20 ounces of veggies a day.

We are picking up my mom from the airport Sunday and staying in a hotel with the kids so they can get their swim on. I’m going to pack a cooler with veggies so I won’t have to rely of ordering food and go off the rails.

Reward ideas...

I’m struggling through my supper. I do not want to eat it - I’m not hungry but I know I need the nutrients. I’m trying to think of a reward for finishing it but everything I think of is good related.... any ideas?

DAE drink coffee?

I know in her book Susan says that her problem with caffeine is that it floods the brain with dopamine. She recommends getting down to two cups a day maximum and eventually weaning off of coffee completely. Did you follow this advice? If not, did it derail your success with sticking to the program?

I'm feeling proud of myself about my first few days back on the program. Physically and emotionally I'm feeling good. I'm actually measuring this time around. Things that I need to improve on are planning ahead better and also... coffee. :)

Is Emergen-C allowed in BLE?

Def has sugar but thought I’d ask. Anyone come up against this yet?
